Calling Nate Thornhill a rich, cocky, arrogant asshole would be an understatement. He also happens to be stunningly handsome, popular, intelligent, and captain of both the Crew and Lacrosse teams at UVA. I hate him for thinking he’s untouchable—not because he’s a narcissistic, privileged, borderline-misogynistic heartbreaker—but because he’s right. His first words to me were at a Crew House party, and he invited me to have a threesome with him and a random girl. I could’ve died from the embarrassment, he didn’t even know my name at the time, and he didn’t care to. After that night, I promised myself to never waste another second thinking about Nate Thornhilll. My world becomes a nightmare when I realize my mom’s new husband Pierce has a son who’s my age…and he’s a junior at UVA too. I can’t believe my eyes when Nate walks over and sits down next to us at dinner, introducing himself like he’s never seen me before in his life. Then I feel his hand on my thigh, underneath the tablecloth with our parents sitting across from us, inching closer and closer to my panties. My mind goes fuzzy, my heart starts racing, and my body does exactly what I don’t want it to do. And then they hit me with the worst news of all… Pierce has an internship lined up for me at his firm, and we’re going to live at his Eastern Shore mansion for the summer. I’ll be sleeping down the hall from my new stepbrother…arguing with him at every breakfast, sitting across from him at every dinner, watching as he brings an endless string of girls back to his room…secretly wishing I was one of them. Stepbrother Untouchable is a Stand-alone novel. It contains adult themes, harsh language, and graphic sexual content.
I'm Colleen Masters, author of the Faster Series. Thank you so much for swinging by and checking out my stories! As an indie romance author, your support means everything to me. Let me tell you a little bit about myself...
I grew up in Central Jersey, and studied Theatre Arts and English at Monmouth University. (Going to college right next to the beach? Hell yes :D) My dream has always been to make a profession out of writing, so I moved to NYC five years ago and have been working my butt off to make that dream come true ever since. Right now, I'm living on the Upper East Side with my darling fiancé and our corgi, Frodo. (Bit of a lit nerd, what can I say?) All of my friends get such a kick out of my "survival job," but I don't really see my writing as a day job at all--it's way too fun for that!
These books are truly a labor of love, and I'm so happy to share them with you. I hope you enjoy reading them as much as I enjoyed writing them!
An ok book, but sadly nothing more. So 3 stars for this short, mediocre and quite predictable read.
I was really hoping for something better, and what i got, although satisfying, was still lacking in many levels and was too weak to keep my interest peaked.
Nate and Brynn, had a bad start -but quite interesting for the reader to read- and after that, the relationship they formed, felt odd, forced at first and surely average.
After they moved all together in the same house, the story changed into something else. Nate wasn't cocky or mischievous as the blurp states and Brynn's intellectual supieriority was nowhere to be found.
Overall a nice storyline that didn't work, with some grammatical errors and a main story -scandal- that was not needed in such an extend. The characters where out of place all they had no consistency at all.
THOUGHTS ABOUT THE BOOK
- Simple, almost see-through plotline. - Not 'forbidden' love story there. - The sex was good. - What house of that size doesn't have a maid? - The writing is ok. - The "Pierce" drama was a bit too much.
"Brynn,” he whispers, “I've come alive since I met you. My world before you came into it was cold and dark...I found a new reason to fall more in love with you"
This was surprisingly sweet and a great stepbrother trope story. Brynn is a university student who has a crush on a popular athlete, Nate. She is than surprised that her mother married secretly and turns out that Nate is her step brother.
First off, I would just like to say that being in a relationship with your STEP sibling is NOT incest! There is NO blood relation! I'm not sure why people think this is so taboo lol Ummm hello-- Clueless!
Okay, now that I have that off my chest I would like to take about how I did totally enjoy this book more than the first one. I like how there was no time lapse therefore we were able to see the pair progress as a couple together instead of apart. This book had a ton more frustrating moments and I would get urked every time someone acted like she was sleeping with her twin when she would mention Nate in a romantic way. The author did a fantastic job of slowly unfolding the plot with the step-father. It was a slow burn that we got a little bit more glimpses of and then BAM! Sucker punch to the face and I was like OH MY GOD! Then everything blew up and it was done in such perfect pacing.
The characters were a bit more fleshed out in the book. I always relate to the nerdy, home body types because I'm like that. And then the nerdy girls gets the hot guy it works even better for me. Brynn was kind-hearted, smart, and willing to give everyone a chance. She doesn't spend her time slut-shamming at all in the book and I loved that about her. There were so many moments where this could've fallen into the new adult trap but it was very unique and I enjoyed it. Nate for me had a lot of redeeming to do once we saw a glimpse of the real him. I am happy to report that he became the man we all wanted him to be. Alpha, sweet, possessive, and redeemable.
I can't wait for more Stepbrother books from Colleen!
If you're looking for smut continue your search. This book was as sexy as torpedo bras & granny panties. It was unbelievable comic relief up until the Pierce situation. OMG that was so cliche. The plot was simplistic & I don't understand what makes the topic taboo. Oh & can I just say the parenting was horrific. I'm trying not to rant but really that cover so misleading. The story is about two third year collage students not a business man. Seriously if you want a hot muscled dude in the cover with a prop might i suggest a lacrosse stick? It would have made for a more cohesive book cover.
On a positive not the proposal was a winner. 2 stars

DNF at 40%. It started off fine though overly simplistic. Then the dialogue just started getting worse and worse. The characters remained one dimensional and at times, quite contrary to what was already established. It seems like the plot was getting pushed forward by unrealistic circumstances that were a huge stretch. It was a free read for me on Kindle Unlimited so no biggie but even for a free book, I just could't waste my time on it. I didn't care about the characters, the dialogue was often just a joke. I don't recommend.
Got nothing to say here- its your typical step-sibling love story but its way better than the first book in the series! :)
I wouldn't say its the BEST book in the line of taboo coz this one is pretty short.. but it has a likeable characters and the storyline kinda flows better *ehem* than the first book.
Lol. I'm repeating myself! :P
Overall, I still recommend it specially if you want a quick taboo fix.
:) this was a great story with relatable characters and steamy as hell sex! I loved the sex! The whole taboo of it all makes me wish i had a stepbrother to molest! 5 take-my-virginity-stars!*****
Colleen Masters- Well done! Five strong, sexy stars!
I received a copy of this book in return for an honest review. I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised once I started it. I wasn't a fan of "Stepbrother Billionaire" because I thought it was a little to similar to another book I had read and enjoyed. When I read the plot to this one, I decided to give Colleen Masters another chance because she is a great author and I didn't think this sounded like it was related to "Stepbrother Billionaire".
I am so glad I gave this book a chance. The plot was unlike anything I have read for the most part and I really enjoyed the characters. I thought both Nate (the athletic sexy stepbrother) and Brynn (Nate's new stepsister who has lusted after him from afar) were hilarious and quirky, which made their chemistry interesting. Nate's arrogance made me laugh out loud on occasion, as well as Brynn's reactions to him. As the story progresses, the reader gets to experience their growth both towards each other and as individuals as certain events transpire. I found it refreshing that both characters overcame struggles to become better individuals since most romance stories focus on the characters together as a couple.
The one aspect of this story that made it stand apart from others in it's genre was everything involving Pierce. Loved how everything transpired and thought it added a nice touch to the dynamic between all of the characters.
I simply love this author. This is the third book of hers that I've read and I think my favorite so far. I thoroughly enjoyed reading about Nate and Bryn. Both of them stubborn, strong characters. I loved Brynn. I loved that she was stronger than her mother, I loved that she was so smart. I adored Nate. Such a fuzzy bear under that indifferent exterior. Great plot, cool twists and flawless writing. I couldn't put it down and the pages flew away so smoothly. 5 stars from me.
This was a satisfying short read. There was a bit of tension and frustration, plus the main characters were intriguing. It doesn't end in a cliffhanger. Thank you. If you are looking for a book with a happey ending, this is it.
Sweet story with a realistic villain. I liked how Brynn grew more confident as the story progressed and didn't let herself be intimidated. Like Nate too.
❤️❤️Nate and Brynn were exceptionally beautiful❤️❤️
I love unforbidden love stories and this particular story deals with unforbidden love between step siblings. Brynn was attending college and fantasizing about the hottest guy on campus Nate. She admired him from afar and would rebel in her dreams to one day make an impression on the sexy as hell jock who she crushed after. Nate was the biggest player on campus and showed off a very arrogant attitude towards everything he did. He knew he could have it all. Nate and Brynn meet by chance at an unfortunate party and she realizes he is the biggest asshole she has ever met and can't believe she has had a crush on him for long. What Brynn wasn't expecting was to receive the most unexpected and shocking news when her mother decided to come and visit her she leaned that her mom was now married and Brynn now had a new step brother the "wonderful and charming" Nate. They would be moving in together for the entire summer she didn't know how she was going to survive and hide the attraction she felt towards her newly acquired step sibling. Their journey was definitely not an easy one they had to literally fight to understand each other and come to a realization they both tried to avoid they were extremely attracted to each other. The had to overcome so many obstacles and heartaches. Selfishly I wanted find out what else will happen in their story but I felt like it gave me an ending I can live with. This story will take you on a great journey a definite must read!!!
This is the second book I've read about Stepbrother "taboo" relationship... Made me stop and think, and I like when authors make me think.
Loved this book. Nate is a hot gorgeous guy and Brynn has lusted after him from a far. Of course Brynn's mother ends up marrying Nate's father and she is shocked to learn that her new stepbrother is the man she has wanted for years. So the two are together for the summer under the same roof and let me say boy is it a HOT summer. The attraction between the two is so intense. You know how the story is going to go but I still found myself turning the pages and not stopping till the book was completed.
Really enjoyed it. Hot steamy scenes...Great character development!!
It's a really really good story, which i enjoyed so very much. I love how real the characters are, some characters in these new adult books just gets me screaming "NORMAL PEOPLE DON'T DO THAT" but this one didn't. Their relationship slowly build up, a little abrupt at first but it's believable. I grew quite fond of the protagonist, she didn't do any stupid decisions and didn't piss me off by embarrassing herself or having no self-respect (like most of these new adult books)
It's the typical step-siblings love story but by far the best i've read!
This is the second book i've read by Colleen Masters. The first was Stepbrother Billionare, and i can easily say if you enjoyed that this is a good read for you. The story has much of the same key elements, though also a remarkable amount more sex, however the plot is just as predictabe with the title being equally as misleading and the same quicky, predominatbly one-sided or so we think, romance. I won't go into major detail as that's for you to read and make up your own mind, but i'd say its worth a read.
Beautiful love story about two college aged kids whose parents marry leaving them in a really awkward position. This book is a great read and really draws you in from the very first paragraph. I loved this book, I loved everything about it! Brynn and Nate are engaging and full bodied characters that you will get attached to. There wasn't any insta-love that so many of these YA books have but took time to really get to know one another. It was great.
Ok read. I wanted to love this book… taboo love between step-siblings, what's not to like, right? It's just too typical, almost everything I think would happen in the kind of household all happened. I could foretell what was going to happen next. I really wished I could enjoy this book more, but I just felt nothing toward H and h.
It started out real good and then somewhere at 35% I lost my connection to the characters and story. Disappointed since I love these stories, but I think the execution was not there. It had the story, the characters, etc. but it felt forced.
