The beast protects us, but he demands tribute.

I was not asked. I was chosen. Every year, the creature who keeps our community safe requires a virgin as tribute, and every year she is thoroughly ravaged and then returned ruined for any other man. No one will tell me exactly what is in store for me, I only know he's not going to be gentle.

But the elders underestimated me, and when they left me in the sacred clearing I took the chance to escape. Now the beast hunts me, and if he finds me I can only wonder what he'll do to me...

Publisher's Note: Virgin Tribute includes spankings and rough, intense sexual scenes. If such material offends you, please don't buy this book.

So, as you can see from my tags, I hated this book. More and more authors are writing such harsh material because they think it'll stand out in a crowded market (or so I assume). What I particularly dislike about this book, though, is the gender politics. These women are given to him with no consent and no choice -- not to experience sexual pleasure, but to bear him a child. This world might as well be some fundamentalist society in which women have no control over their bodies, but are just expected to bear children regardless of what they want or any danger to their health. This would be a fantasy if it weren't so uncomfortably close to the reality of far too many women's lives today.

There were other problems: we know the women Drake returns never lead happy, fulfilled lives, so I'm wondering why we're supposed to root for him at all given that he's blighted the lives of so many women. In addition, he's not interested in making the mother of his potential child happy, or loving her -- he's not even interested in loving his potential children -- he just wants to use these women and any children they produce for scientific purposes. Finally, Raegen tells him how unfairly she was treated by the townspeople and he promises to do something about it, but we never see or hear about that promise again.

I recommend this book only to all those who swoon over men who view -- and use -- women as test tubes for their scientific experiments and children as scientific products.

I do have one question for readers of these books: I get that these are fantasies. I get that we just want to spend a couple of hours experiencing mindless, erotic entertainment with just enough storyline to keep us interested. I really do get this as I also like doing this. But, are there ever times that you question the meanings or ideas underpinning any of these books? Because, quite frankly -- whether the author intends this or not -- some of the content in far too many of them is really unappealing. I'm not talking about the sex or the punishments or even non-consent; I'm talking about the ideology. In this case, Drake really is a forced-birther: the women he takes have absolutely no control over whether or not they will have a child. Personally, I find myself thinking more and more about what I'm actually reading because even just in consuming erotica, we're responsible for what we read and comment on as this just encourages these authors to write more of the same.

This is just my two cents and ymmv: your opinions about ideology and what you do about them are your own. I really am curious, though, about what people think if anyone would like to comment.

Man, Beast or Both?

Set in a post-apocalyptic Pacific Northwest in the United States, “Virgin Tribute” is a fast-paced, highly engaging and professionally written dark erotic romance. Initiated by overzealous but potentially well-meaning scientific researchers, a virus has been inflicted upon humanity leaving only a small population untouched or immune. The remaining populous has been transformed by the virus into hideously monstrous mutants, lacking even a trace of their former moral and ethical decencies. The few untouched descendants and survivors of the virus took refuge long ago, underground, in the “Sanctuary” receiving protection from a powerful, human hybrid creature known as “The Protector”.

In exchange for safety from the savage mutant hordes, the Protector requires the carnal use of a young human female for procreation. Every tribute provided by the Sanctuary has been returned by the Protector seemingly unharmed but without successful impregnation. Mysteriously, each returned tribute chooses to seek solace and isolation among other former tributes, rather than reentering society at the Sanctuary. In this dark dystopian universe, the Sanctuary population as well as its populace is tightly controlled, and the women completely subjugated. Women not chosen as a tribute are given to warriors for assuaging their carnal needs and to reproduce a regulated number of offspring.

The rebellious as well as outspoken heroine, Raegan, is unexpectedly chosen by Sanctuary leaders as the current tribute and offered immediately to the monstrous beast known only as the Protector. Intelligent and feisty, Raegan escapes the shackles restraining her before the Protector’s arrival, fleeing into the wilderness with a plan to locate safe accommodations while living out her remaining days alone. Unfortunately, Raegan finds herself confronted by grotesquely mutated creatures, rescued and held captive by the antihero, Drake the Protector.

With a riveting and original story-line, “Virgin Tribute” is filled with erotic imagery, action, mystery, intrigue and suspense. The vivid depictions of hideously mutated human monsters are both chilling and reminiscent of the American literary classic, “The Island of Doctor Moreau”. Raegan’s cohabitation with Drake, in his well-recognized fortress, is fraught with conflict, potential danger, cooperation and transformation for both characters. As Raegan works alongside Drake to reverse the ravages of the virus, will Raegan be the final tribute or simply another in a long history of meaningless reparations to the beast? “Virgin Tribute” is told from dual POV, is a standalone novel and not suitable for those under the age of 18.

Really......

If I had a pound for every time she "assumed the position" I would fill a jar, honestly I know it's fantasy but it's a bit to far fetched she went from wanting to escape to begging for his bits I swear I had whiplash now quick she came around. Don't waste your time people

To be honest, I didn't really know what to expect with Delta James's latest story. I'm not a huge reader of Sci-Fi but I have read and loved other books by this author so I got this one. Man, am I ever glad I did. Right from the first page, Ms. James sucked me right into the story. The details are out of this world and you feel like you are right there. Raegan is the heroine and she is a feisty and really strong woman. The Protector, Drake, seems scary at first but as the story goes on, you can tell he has developed feelings for Raegan. The sex scenes, OMG!!! What can I say. Since Raegan is very strong willed, she gets herself in trouble with Drake quite often but I kind of got the feeling that after awhile, she would get herself in trouble so she could get one of those spankings!!! It was hot, it was steamy and I just fell in love with this story!!! There's some danger and some mystery but the story is so good, you just can't stop after a couple of chapters. I'm telling you right now, get this book but be sure to keep a fan and some ice water close by because it's gonna get you all hot and bothered!! I'm hoping that we will get more from this world.

The guy was just so robotic and emotionless, I couldn't take it. He's supposed to be a scientist, but even scientists have emotions.

Great, spunky, free-thinking herione who is instantly turned into a willing sex slave after a day in the sack with Dr. Robot.

At first I expected enemies to lovers, with lots of spark, but there was no spark.

Couldn’t finish it

Very barbaric. The language is kind of childish and it’s sex scene after sex scene... not got and steamy or good and raunchy ones but just really bad ones. Stopped reading about 3/4 of the way through... I tried.

This is the first Delta James book I have read, but it turned up on my "recommended" list after I had read Sara Fields and Loki Renard's sci-fi, apocalyptic books.

I managed to finish this book, but barely. Unlike Fields' and Renard's sci-fi ventures, James introduces concepts or plot points that are never visited again, or resolved. There is such a strong resentment of The Sanctuary in the beginning, and hints of doubt about whether reversing the mutants's condition is the right thing to do, as well as Drake's motivation (guilt and ego), that I was stunned to find the story end without really dealing with these ideas.

There's a lot of spoilers to come, and my own spin, so just a warning, this is lengthy...

Anyway, for all of those reasons, I just can't make myself give it more than two-stars at best. Was it fun having a post-apocalyptic Seattle and Pacific NW as the backdrop? Sure - and you can tell that James loves the area. But I would expect a lot more damage and scarcity. You almost expect Drake to return to the Needle with a hot mocha latte in his claws, for crying out loud!

Well this was.... wow....and....that to.....and....hell yes....and really?....and....whoa......and....yum.....and....and....yeah all of that.

OMG Ms Delta James, I loved, loved, loved your Fated Mates series but Virgin Tribute? It blew them all right out of the water.

Feisty heroine? Tick
Beastly antihero? Tick
Fantastic world building? Tick
Virgin concubine given as payment for continuing protection? Tick
Lots and lots of claiming, mating and rutting? Tick
A barbed phallus? Tick

Hold on! A barbed dick? Yep, you heard me folks, a spiky member that promises untold pleasure along with that edge of pain that just enhances everything. And boy did Drake know how to use it to good effect, I may be just a little jealous of Reagan!

If i had any criticism of the book, it would be that some of the sex scenes were a little repetitive in feel. It wasn't a big thing and it didn't spoil my enjoyment in any way, I just wanted a little variety or just something 'more'. However what we did get was still one very hot hot HOT read that I only put down because I was falling asleep whilst reading in the early hours and not really following the plot anymore.

I FLOVED the dynamic between Reagan and Drake, whilst there was a power exchange, with Drake firmly in charge, he still listened to and appreciated Reagan. What started as a non-consensual arrangement believably morphed into a genuine partnership.

Reagan had me from the start when she refused to be brainwashed by or kowtow to the Elders of the Sanctuary. She chose her battles well, never giving in, never giving up and never TSTL (too stupid to live). Drake was at heart, a good man doing bad things but from the best of intentions. He is deliciously dominant but not arrogantly alpha and I absolutely adored both him and Reagan.

The epilogue was absolutely perfect and, damn you Ms James, those very last lines reduced me to tears. THEY. WERE. PERFECT.

If you love the work of Renee Rose, Lee Savino, Sara Fields, Sue Lyndon, Loki Renard or enjoyed Ruled by Cari Silverwood, then this book is perfect for you. If you like an edgy steamy sci-fi read it's for you.

The book contains scenes of power exchange and domestic discipline. This is NOT a real world setting, so SSC and RACK do not exist here. Please don't read this just to moan about Drake 'beating' and 'abusing' Reagan. Even Reagan herself acknowledges that he punishes her poor behaviour and isn't beating her! Don't let a fictional character have more sense than a real person.

As I began to read this story I thought I wasn't going to really like it. But I am please to say that I actually loved it. Raegan is the virgin tribute chosen this year as a gift to the hybrid, part human part beast, The Protector, from a commune of human survivors after earth has been taken over by other hybrids gone amok. She wants no part of this deal and attempts to escape her fate, but physically she is no match for The Protector, for Drake. Drake shares blame in what has happened to earth and greatly desires to fix it. He thinks he needs an heir to do this, but year after year the tribute given to him fails to give him a child. But Raegan is different. There is chemistry between the 2 of them, and it is so fun to watch that chemistry grow between them. The two of them are a great match in bed, and both enjoy it immensely. He is a dominant man, and doesn't hesitate to spank disobedience, but he also treasures Raegan, and believes that he is the one who will finally give him a child. They both come to respect one another, and Raegan is thrilled that he respects her enough to allow her to assist him in his lab. This book has sensuous sex, intense punishments, and frightening moments. But deep down it is tender love story. It is a joy to see it happen.

Sweet, hot but formularic

This was sweet and sexy. Little too much repeated description of the rut, estrous and punishment and not enough story. But I liked the plot, and the main characters were likable ... eventually. I skipped a lot. But a pleasant read that’s easily done in an afternoon.

The last and only one

Raegan refused to be part of being the "the chosen one" line-up. To make things whose she was picked to be the Protector's virgin tribute this year. She unlocked her chains with a paper clip and ran away. But Drake, aka the Protector, found her and punished her. So, the next morning, she ran again. Drake is a shifter, saber tooth cat with very large wings. He finds her, but he gets surrounded by a pack of mutants. She kept running until she heard him scream, not a good scream. She had to go back to help him. She killed one of the bad guys and maimed another one. But Drake caught her again in the end. Punishment time again! As time goes on, Drake realizes that Raegan is more than just a tribute and concubine. But the object is to get her pregnant. Each tribute tried and failed and sent back each year. But Raegan is different, how you ask? You will have to read the book for the answers. This is definitely an adult only book! It turns into an erotica charged love story with alot of kinks! Got to love it,oh boy!

This book sounded promising but I really didn't like the female lead. I think she was suppose to be "badass" but she just came across as silly. The author tried to world build by having the female character ask questions which would be fine if the character was not raised in the society. However, she was, so her asking questions around the reasons her society works the way it does was silly, she would know these things so why is she asking questions.

More than just tribute

Reagan is headstrong smart fearless and completely aroused by The Protector she was given to as a virgin tribute to save the people of the sanctuary, she is also planning her escape every step of the way! Drake brings Reagan to submission in more ways than one and she learns to love it as her body betrays her ideas of freedom for the ideas of having him as a mate! Good story line good characters and really good steamy scenes !

This was a very well written dark romance. I loved that they were real mates and made for each other. The storyline was excellent and the characters were strong which I loved. The heroine, Raegan was no doormat or weak willed woman.

Post-Apocalyptic world “Virgin Tribute” given to the Protector for continued protection…
The Protector is an human/alien hybrid who has pledged his protection to the Sanctuary a human gathering of human females that have survived the virus and now is his only hope to procreate enabling him to find the final addition he needs for the cure that will stop the virus that has caused the terrible devastation to the human race.
In this dystopian world is strictly controlled by the elders where the females are subjugated however, Raegan Yesler is no willing “Tribute” for the protector she is vehemently against the Sanctuary and the way in which females are selected to be the prospective concubines if for him to successfully impregnate and breed
All the past females have been returned after failing successful impregnated by the Protector, mysteriously each returned tribute has supposedly chosen to seek solace and isolation within a separate living area where they have no interaction with their family members or even any Sanctuary members it is as though they have been cast aside, as though considered unclean.
The rebellious and vehemently outspoken heroine Raegan is unexpectedly chosen by Sanctuary leaders as the current tribute and she ensures that they know she is going to do everything she can to escape and as soon as she is on the surface she does. Drake is surprised at the tenacity of the female he has been given, she is not simply just allowing him to breed her she is curious, questioning, intelligent, opinionated and ensures that she knows exactly how strongly she feels about the position of concubine.
They come together in a heated and unexpectedly amorous manner, she is attracted to him and her body’s responses to his seeding is remarkable, she is as attracted to him as he her and when their bodies are in “Rutt” it is apparent they are more than well suited, she also fights to protect him and works alongside Drake in the lab as he continues to find a cure to the virus.
He only thing they have to wait on is the results from the blood test at the end of the mating period to see if she has successfully been impregnated, only time will tell. However their feelings for each other have obviously changed greatly and it is true that their love for each other has materialised and that they are so much more that Protector and Concubine!!
I voluntarily received and review an Advanced Reader Copy
I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the great writing.

Virgin who doesn't want to be a Tribute

Virgin Tribute was an interesting story-line but it did not hit it home for me. The story takes place basically after the downfall of man when someone messed up the genetic code of man and a lot of people either perished, were turned into mutants (shifting between animals and man cross breeds), or were hidden somewhere that the mutants could not find them. Thus is the existence of our h, Raegan, who lives underground in what was the underground of Seattle. She is prepared to be a "tribute" to the Protector. There is a yearly tribute, best virgin female over 25, which the Protector basically tries to breed for 3 months. If she does not become pregnant then she is returned to the group and she lives isolated with the other returned tributes.
Unfortunately for Raegan she is chosen to be this years tribute. Now this young woman has some spunk and a lot of wiliness in her. She spent her time below reading and has a lot of knowledge, along with a fierceness that makes her say what is on her mind and physically fight when she needs to.
The Protector, Drake, is a scientist who is trying to have a half mutant and half human child to see if he can isolate the specific gene that will help save humanity. Unfortunately he is also a mutant who can turn into a gigantic sabre tooth tiger and bird, like a falcon but with huge fangs. Also bad for Raegan is that he basically treats here like a broodmare and goes at her all the time in a cruel way. There is no tenderness in him towards her even when he starts thinking of her as his mate, the day after their first day and mating. Instead he spanks her at every offense, where real or not, and other thing.
Where this story sort of took a turn for me was that there were so many sex scenes that just sort of did a wash, rinse, repeat cycle over and over. Now I like good sex scenes and don't even mind reading some dark and dirty ones. But I like to at least have some more variety and also some warmth and tenderness shown at some point towards the female character. There is some sort of tenderness from Drake towards Raegan and by the end he appears to have tender feelings but he sure doesn't show it much from my take.
I will say that the book is well written by Delta James and it was also well edited and proofread. So no stars taken off for that.

I received a free ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.

Very barbaric! This book sounded promising and with the preview, I read was looking forward to a FMC that didn't take bullshit from men, then it went downhill after "the Protector." saves her from being raped 😜 😜, like that was not what he was going to do that anyway. Then the whole spanking and belt spanking was bullshit. How is that sexy or a turn-on for the former part, not the belt spanking?

Where was the world-building? All I saw was the FMC asking questions but nothing else. Also, from her wanting to escape at the beginning and then suddenly wanting his pounding from him is really hard to be believable for me.

Now characters:

We have Raegan. She looked around 20-25 years of age and is semi-likable within the first chapter. Raegan seems so much of a rebel at first and that i what I like about her until she becomes a sex mat[ doormat] to Drake[MMC]. She is unfocused, childish and irrational. Her background story is non-existent, I would have loved to know how her father and mother, were and if she had siblings older or younger as well. She also has no friends and has lots of resentment toward the elders/leaders of the settlement, and how they treat females like cattle and not people.

Then is Drake is a man, who has become a hybrid, who has lived for over two centuries or less or even more, but is was aloof with his emotions. Only have possible three, angry/lust or horny. Some matter says he was happy... All I saw and read was that he was an asshole then he raped all the females before to breed them and only to breed them.

How many females had he had before Raegan came into his life? Not one became pregnant by him? That sounds freaky fishy. If he was trying to cure the human race, then why did he detach himself from it, why not go into the settlement and tell them and have them work with him on it?

Overall, Raegan was nothing more than a broodmare/ breeder for Drake and he never could love her. All he does was hurt her, spanking her ass until it was red and sore. Great guy.

Where this story sort of took a turn for me was that there were so many sex scenes that just sort of did a wash, rinse, repeat the cycle over and over.

If the story was reworked or changed it would be better. More world-building, character building and over all, no spankings would be better.

Leave you wanting more... Gritty, Dark, Intense Domination

Very little drama, alpha dom beast and a stubborn human female, heavy in the spanking department, bindings, and the intense pain pleasure rutting and love making bit mostly rutting not only to bred but in order to dominate his tribute and concubine. When I saw concubine in the blurb I was leery, if he has other women at his beck and call why a virgin but when I read a bit on amazon and thankfully it is just Drake and Reagan and no others.

Reagan is feisty and just want to live how she wants and let no man or women tell how to live but they demand her to be a sacrifice to the beast to protect their sanctuary from the mutated human/animals mutations, and to see her gone. But Reagan has other ideas, mainly Freedom, so when she is shackled on the holy land she runs from the fate, until a wallus human scents her and the beast finds his tribute face ing off with another male, Drake’s dominates takes over and Reagan will have one ticked off man/beast to deal with.
Drake is been trying to sire a child for over 2 centuries to find the DNA he needs to right the wrong his lab created, but still no pure human women has beared him a child and he sees his new tribute as nothing more then a means to have a child and will constantly be rutting her before and after he forces her body into ‘heat’. But he didn’t expect Reagan to be defiant and stubborn and fight him. He alpha chemicals will make him bred and bred often and spankings to be without mercy and the need to be in control at all times. But he never thought he would find the woman he feels more for then any other as he sees in Reagan, his Mate and the women he will love no matter if she can’t help him bring a child and a way to treat the mutants bit will love until her last breath and change his future no matter the outcome.

It was okay

This story was set in version of Earth that had been destroyed by a virus instead of getting flesh eating zombies they got mutant gorilla men and other shifters kind of half human half animal. The protector is Drake before he became the protector he was a scientist working diligently to try and find a cure for the virus and he thought he had found the cure so he injected himself but he turned into half bird half saber tooth tiger and he's no longer mortal he's never aged a day since he injected himself. Since then he has had a lot of time to study the virus and he knows what he needs to create the vaccine to cure humans of the mutant virus, he needs a child born with his DNA and that of one of the original humans that were immune to the virus. So he started up a deal with a village of survivors he would protect them if they give him one virgin every year for a couple months for him to try and impregnate her. He tried for many years with no success until he gets his hands on Raegan. She isn't happy by any means with the whole virgin concubine situation and she plans to get away asap but Drake isn't about to let his concubine escape. The book for the most part was good definitely interesting but she did go over board with the whole sex stuff morning, noon, and night every day again and again. It kind of got old. Anyways if you have KU I would say check it out for your self.

I love the fact that the heroines in Delta James'books are strong, independent, self sufficient women. Raegan, in this book, was the same. She had no interest in "going along to get along", whether in the Sanctuary, or with the Protector.

Drake and Raegan had a genuine connection from the very beginning. Ultimately, they each provided the other with something they were unfamiliar. Drake came to appreciate Raegan's intelligence and feistiness. Raegen came to appreciate Drake's care and protection of her, something she had not received while at the Sanctuary.

This foray into sci-fi was intriguing. With the different types of mutants, the explanation regarding how the world came to be as it was with the mutants, and the ritualistic determination of the Chosen One, I was engaged from the very beginning trying to figure it all out. There were also moments of action, suspense, and danger to keep you a bit on edge.

There were some similarities with the Wayward Mates series, but not enough to detract from this being more sci-fi than paranormal. This was a fast paced read with a fair number of chapters and an epilogue.

If you are offended by dominance, submission, spankings, and an abundance of sexual encounters between the Chosen One and the Protector, I would suggest you pass on this one.

I am not usually a fan of Sci-Fi books and i did not know what to expect with
Virgin Tribute. It's a big shift away from what this author usually writes but i have
to say that i grew to enjoy it.

It is set in a post- apocalypse world where a virus has infected humans except for a small
few who live underground, but the young woman have to pay a big price. The Protector
is a mix between a human and a beast who demands a yearly virgin to procreat and bear
his child,a child who could cure the virus.Regan Yesler was beautiful, feisty and stubborn.
She wants a say as to who will take her virginity but it's not to be when she was chosen
to be the sacrifice.Regan fought every step of the way but to no avail, her efforts to escape
only led to painful spankings.Regan began to trust her beast, something about him fascinated
her.His dominant possession of her had her screaming in ecstasy and made her body shudder.
Regan learned to trust and love her beast,he stirred her soul.

I was intrigued by the premise of this story by Ms James and finished it in record time.It stirred
my imagination as i entered into a futuristic world. The sex scenes were scorching hot and the
words captivated me completely.Expect a feisty heroine,a strong alpha male, mystery and danger.
This story was twisted and utterly addictive.

I received a promotional code for this book and this is my voluntary review. Reagen the Beast Slayer! erm... no.. wrong chosen trope.. she is the girl picked from District 12! Nope. Not that one either. Actually in this story The Chosen is the unfortunate winner for a twisted annual pageant to find the virgin sacrifice because its Year Apocalypse and only Gilead and tossing innocent girls into volcanoes/feeding them to King Kong are the only shred of humanity to survive. Only Drake isn't exactly a Gorilla, just a mutated former scientist now referred to as The Protector. A super virus mutated and killed most of humanity, those who had a natural immunity retreated behind high walls, and went underground like those in Sanctuary. Immune humans are an important resource for Drake who wants to continue his work and give humanity a chance to beat back the mutant hordes and repopulate. His aim is breed his stronger DNA with that of an immune female to produce superior offspring and his price for protecting them is one virgin of childbearing age a year to attempt this process. All have failed to conceive and almost 2 decades later, Reagen is now the chosen one. Given to the protector as tribute and concubine. Sparks fly as the feisty heroine tries to save herself and Drake is convinced that she is the one. The relationship between them is pretty hot. I enjoyed it.

There's so much to like here. The hero, Drake, flies. No, I don't mean an airplane--he can freakin' FLY. How can you outdo that? You can't. Could your bestest lover freakin' FLY? I don't think so!

Moving on: this is a book with exhaustive sex. It's fet erotica, so it's not really fair to call it "gratuitous", but dayum!, there is *a lot* of sex.

Other things: Drake starts out as an insensitive jerk. About halfway in I was starting to get annoyed, wishing he'd finally take both his barbed peen and his head out of Raegan's rear. Not quite a spoiler, but yeah, he gets better---a reformed jerk with barbed peen in Raegan's rear, if you will.

The only downside to his book, imo, is Drake and Raegan are having so much winged sexy sex there doesn't seem to be much in the way of progressive plot points as the story carries on. You know, those kind of points that have a reader breathless with the question if this relationship can survive any ensuing challenges. There's just not that much conflict in the story, except perhaps on how exactly that barbed peen thing is working out. Oh, and if their children will also freakin' FLY.

But all in all, this is another great, steamy, sexy, spanky read from Delta James.

This is written in the post apocalyptic era. You have a virus that's been let loose and it has infected humanity and eradicated all but a very small population that were immune. The survivors of this virus moved underground to get away and live underground in the sanctuary. They get protection from a creature they call "The Protector." In exchange for protection a virgin in offered and Reagan is picked as the virgin of the year. She decides to escape from the sacred clearing and is running from the beast. Reagan is strong willed and no one is going to tell her how she has to live her life. Drake starts to track his human and finds her fighting off another male. Drake has been waiting two centuries for children. He figures that Reagan will end up just like the other women that have been offered and not be able to give him a child. He is very wrong. Reagan he finds is his fated mate and whether she bears him children or not he intends to keep her. Do you think that this will finally happen. Where as the others were not his mate maybe Reagan will prove to be the one to fulfill his future. Great book. I love reading this authors books.

Whats not to love about this book, its erotic and has spanking scenes and Reagan herself has a mind of her own....but is not always right.. I love the World that Delta has woven in this story, its unusual but i really love it when stories are writen outside the box in a different world, it show vivid imagaination and just imagining what those beasts look like.. its like uggg but a bit funny at the same time

Regan is well known for mouthing off with her opinions, but this time when the tributes are picked for the Protecter, it is her turn. She is medically examined then left in a room. She escapes only to be picked up by the Protecter himself. She is taken to his home where she is thoughly spanked and punished.
Reagans mouth gets her into trouble and she is thoughly taken, barbs and all, but the joy of it is she loves it.
Its up to Drake to tame Reagan and show her he is more than willing to keep her more than a tribute.

I thoughly reccommend this book to read, i have given a five star plus
