This series just keeps getting better and better! Like Luminosity this book starts at a “slower” pace then really ramps up once you hit the halfway point and didn’t let up until the end, and boy was that an ending! I think my jaw was on the floor throughout this book in more ways then one!
These poor characters go through so so much and fall down again and again, but they get back up each time even when it seems hard or hopeless and keep going despite the odds and hardships—they are all so inspiring and relatable and I can’t help but love each and every one of them, even when they’re being difficult or stubborn and I just want to shake them, lol.
We finally got Tarek’s POV, which I wasn’t sure we’d get since Alyra still doesn’t remember much and he knows a lot about her missing memories, so I figured we’d be left in the dark a bit longer but nope! He actually revealed a lot that I didn’t think we’d get until at least the next book and I was honestly shocked! I was like, “okay, wow, this is really happening!” and it was honestly refreshing in a way because this series isn’t following the regular “script” of a Christian fantasy and I am SOOOO here for it! It certainly has kept me on my toes of what will happen next and I love it!
The way it ends has me eager to dive into the next book, and while I’m kicking myself for waiting soooo long to continue this series with how much I’m loving it, I’m also thankful I’m reading it for the first time now as this is truly a series the Lord wants me to read at this moment in my life right now and I couldn’t be happier or more thankful for how much it’s helping me AND for how much these characters and this story are growing to mean to me. I love it and can’t wait to continue!
