Gia Fisher comes from a big, all-up-in-your-business family. They all love each other and they come with good intentions. She’s kept her boyfriend Marco at a distance, however, because she didn’t want them to drive him away. But she’s head over heels and tired of hiding her love.
Marco Taylor knew Gia she was the one for him the moment he met her. She’s keeping him away from her family and he can’t blame her. He doesn’t come from anything special and in the past he’s had a run-in with her brothers. He’s not good enough for her, but he can’t let her go.
Warning: What happens when the two of them finally shout their love from the rooftop? Oh, you know it’s gonna be explosive! Grab the final installment of the Virgin Marriage series and see if these two can find their happily ever after.

A quick listen while running around town and working out. I enjoy these podcasts from Read Me Romance for what they are...quick, steamy, fun listens. There's not a lot of character development that can happen in 10 short chapters and I'm not expecting it.
We jumped right in to Gia & Marco's relationship and I'm not sure if I would have gotten more by reading the previous books in the series. So, for that reason I wish we had had more of a backstory to their relationship.
Alexa Riley know how to write short smutty reads that keep you entertained throughout.
I am not really a fan of audio books so I waited for the ebook of this and was curious about these two characters from the previous books.
Gia and Marco have been dating for a while but she is reluctant to tell her family especially her brother are OTT protective of her, but she is in love and now is the time that she is going to tell them but the response from her older brother James he is adamant that she has nothing to do with Marco. Will Gia be able to get them to see eye to eye or will she be forced to choose between the man she loves and her family?
Marco has loved Gia since their eyes met and is determined that they belong together now that he has had her light in his life there is no way that he could give her up, but he knows that when her brother discovers who she is with that there will be hell to pay as he believes he ruined his lively hood and buried his business. Can he show her family that all he wants is her love and he will do anything to get it?
This was a really short read but as always a hot quickie to cheer up any day. Highly recommend any Alexa Riley book.
The whole story felt more like an epilogue to already written book... Honestly, even if you tortured me, I wouldn't be able to tell you more than two things about it.

⚜ Rate ★★★✩✩ ⚜
English "The Virgin Roomate" by Alexa Riley is a book that contains a short, standalone, from the "Virgin Marriage" series.
Marco Taylor falls in love with Gia Fisher when he sees her in a coffee shop surrounded by books. One look, and instantly, they both have a crush. Everything is beautiful, except that Gia's siblings don't approve of it. However, the love is so intense that it will have to be accepted because they are not going to be separated.
It's been a while since I read the previous two books, and although I don't remember much, from what I could tell is that several characters from the previous books are part of the main characters' friendships.
It's a requited love for two people who fall in love instantly and regardless of family and so on. As it has to /be moreover, in this kind of book, there is nothing to stop the main characters from their HEA. ⚜ Rate ★★★✩✩ ⚜
I haven't read earlier books of the series but it's Alexa Riley book, so they're all standalones. I waited a whole week for all the parts come out, so I could binge listen to the whole book. Alexa Riley books are my favorite romance books, so I'm so happy there's been so many freebies lately.
"You're not ever sleeping away from me again."
The Virgin Roommate is a story about Gia Fisher who has been dating Marco a while but has been too scared to tell her family about him, especially her over protective brothers. Marco has no idea what's going on and even starts to worry that she's finally realized that he's not good enough for her light and warmth. Her brothers are no way happy about the news, especially Jason who still blames Marco about something that happened years ago.
I just love how Alex Riley always succeeds writing such a good characters. We have Gia who is very sweet but she also knows what she wants and then our hero is possessive alpha male who is also a little insecure. Marco has been rejected his whole life and can't believe that someone like Gia would want him but he's also too selfish to let her go.
It has been awhile since a romance affected me this way. They're just so cute and sexy. Marco had never felt the way he does with Gia before. It's like she lights up the room. Marco knew that Gia was the one for him since the moment he saw her. She was the most beautiful thing and he couldn't stop himself from talking to her even though he was late from a meeting.
since it’s a pretty short book, the main characters are already together. an obstacle is in their way of happily ever after but they are working towards solving it. overall, not too bad. with their romance and feelings already established, it’s just gia and marco finding a way to gain approval from gia’s family.
Ah that sweet time when AR wrote gold stuff and used to make my every day worth living. I miss these stories because now I cannot find a good AR read. At all.
Gia is the best friend of the girl in (book 1) she and Marco have been dating for awhile . Maybe few months they are both head over heels in love.. BUT she hasn't told her family due to her older brothers being super protective and jerks to any guy who comes snooping around her. But she is also hesitant since Marco hasn't said the three words.. we have Slight miscommunication between them (about their love they both love each other so hard) and one brother cause more drama then the rest of the family..

This was a short story about a couple, Gina & Marco, who have fallen in love, but Marco hasn't told her about his friction with one of her brothers. Of course the brothers only know one side of the story. Over all it was an okay story. I didn't have to read the other books to understand it...which was refreshing. It was nice this novella could be considered a standalone.
*Other authors have dumped us into the middle of a storyline with their RMR novella and many of us are lost. Since this has happened frequently I've stopped rating anything under 3 Stars or those that are DNFs. I don't like the lower ratings ruining my GR rating average.
HERO /HEROINE: Gia was raised in a big loving family and the only daughter. Anytime she was interested in a guy her brothers chased him off. Now she's found a man and has been keeping him a secret.
Marco grew up in Foster care and has had to work for everything he's gotten in life. He takes one glance at Gia and knows she is his future. He will stop at nothing to have her, including standing up to her brothers.
OVERALL THOUGHTS: I would recommend reading this book after Virgin Husband and before Virgin Wife, it starts at the tail end of Caroline and Aiden's romance and before Jason and Savannah’s novella.
Gia and Marco were sweet and soft. I love that he is so calm and sweet to her.
WHAT I DIDN’T LIKE: It made me so sad reading that Marco was called an ugly baby and thinks he's a ugly man. Can you imagine calling a baby ugly and that's the reason why his parents abandoned him 😭
“I’ve never voiced it to her, but I sometimes wonder if she’s ashamed of me. I know I’m not the best looking, but I’ve got a good job and I make enough money that she never has to work again unless she wants to.”
FAVORITE QUOTES: The sound of her laugh fills my soul and the feel of her lips on mine is heaven.
SAFETY
AGE: No idea
SEXUAL HISTORY: I think dual virgins like the rest of the couples in the series
CONDOMS: No
TUMMY BUTTERFLIES: 🦋 2 /5 Just two hotties making love like bunnies. The smut scenes were short though. Nothing really substantial or built up to
“I slide two fingers into her wet warmth and her pussy grips me impossibly tight. “You expect me to get in this?” She moans again, and I move them in and out like I’m fucking her. “I’ll be lucky if I can get the tip of my cock inside you with how tight you are.””
PUSH/PULL: No
SEPARATION: No
CHEATING: No
OW (Other Woman)/OM (Other Man) drama: No
SEX SCENE WITH OW/OM: No
POSSIBLE PET PEEVES/TRIGGERS: Abandoned Baby (past)
All the makings of a cheesy novella. I will say that I didn't read the first two books in the series and actually felt that I didn't miss out on anything. Perhaps that is a reflection of a good author, or perhaps it really is more of a standalone? Lately the 'standalone' books that have been part of a series on the podcast have left me utterly confused and annoyed because they just don't read as standalone books. This one is the exception. I had a clear picture of the two characters and their background story - at least as much as one can in a short novella.
As a general rule, I try not to expect much from these 10 or so chapter podcasts because how much substance can you really sneak in? I will say that I felt like this one was written pretty decently and the authors definitely have me wanting to read Jason's story. The narrators were both amazing, especially the female narrator. This book started strong for me and then got a little too ridiculous by the end, but was a perfect addition for the RMR podcast.
GUYS THE COVER IS SPELLED WRONG...Another Alexa Riley book from the Read Me Romance podcast and I think I just need to come to terms with the fact that their contemporary romance work is not for me. I want to enjoy the story, the concept sounds okay, the narrators were great, but I just can't seem to connect with their writing and the characters.
The plots lack the drama and tension. I want to get to the know the characters, I wanted to feel connected to them while following their stories. Yet, I feel like their is a chapter of fact dumping about the characters and I am not learning about them through meaningful conversations and discussions. The sex scenes are more detailed the scenes where you learn about the characters...which isn't what I want in a story.
As always, Alexa Riley writes scorching hot scenes. While the characters did move fast, it didn't have the insta-love feel. But overall I am just meh about the story. Didn't love it, didn't hate it, moving on.
