From USA Today Bestselling Author Khardine Gray writing as Bella Fontaine, comes a sexy, sassy Fake Fiancée romance.
What would you do if your boss offered you a million dollars to pretend to be his fiancée?
I had a sick father who needed treatment. A mountain of bills to pay, and… come on it’s a million dollars, not ten bucks!
Sure, Patterson Flynn is without a doubt a billionaire playboy who had a taste for easy women and fast cars. And sure, as his PA, I should know better than to agree to something so absurd.
I’ve been witness to his craziness for the last five years. Five years of that man could drive anybody insane and realistically if you play with fire you will get burned. The money is tempting, oh so tempting, but there’s something else too… I’m curious… My eyes haven’t been closed for the last five years. I noticed him. Him, with his dreamy eyes I could get lost in. Him, with those good looks reserved for Hollywood, and that body that makes me think of hot, sinful things that would make my priest blush.
I’m curious to see what it would be like to be on his arm. I’m curious to see how this little arrangement will play out. I’m curious to know if the scorching hot kiss he gave me when we weren’t pretending was real.
We’re getting close, and so far over the line we crossed we can’t even see it anymore.
I try to keep telling myself it’s not real. I just wished I believed it…
Bella Fontaine is the multicultural and interracial romance pen name of USA Today Bestselling bestselling author Khardine Gray.
The name is to honor the strong, super talented, and courageous women in her family who inspired her to write and do what she loves most.
As with her other books expect hot, steamy, contemporary romance and romantic suspense. Expect drool-worthy heroes and sassy heroines. People falling in love and the wild, sexy fun they have on their journey.
This is a unique twist on an old plot of the girl and her boss falling in love. Only this time her boss is the only son of the CEO of a family-owned huge property development company with locations in most large cities around the world. Patterson's father has just been embarrassed again by articles in the LA newspapers about the scandalous behavior of his son and has given him the option of being engaged in six weeks or he will turn the company over to his cousin when he retires. Georgia is his PA and the only person that calls him Pat. This book has great dialog, a fake fiance/marriage plot, near-death of her father, and secret plans for a new business. Fun reading!
Loved Pat & Georgie's story. Great characters. Couldn't get enough of these two. Such a great book. I'm voluntarily leaving an honest review for a copy of the book via an arc program.
I never write books reviews but this book was good that I figured I'd have to share. I utterly enjoyed reading this book and was sad it ended. The brief description does not serve it justice and I almost didn't read it because I thought it was going to be a basic read based of the story line but MAN DO I TELL YOU...I'm so glad I gave this book a chance. It's so much more than the average boss and assistant falling in love. There was so much more in their relationship and you fall in love with the characters. What I loved most was how much Patterson loved Georgie and did whatever it took to prove it. Good read!!! I would definitely recommend you read it. Now I'm off to finding other books to read from this author.
Khardine Gray, writing as Bella Fontaine, creates a story of not recognizing the love that's right in front of you, until it's almost too late. Patterson is a billionaire whose behavior is beyond a playboy and has embarrassed his family. In line to take over the family business, his father decides that he would rather entrust it to Hudson, his vile cousin, unless Patterson can get his act together and show that he's matured. The perfect test is that he find woman to love, get engaged and soon married. Pat is stunned since he has never had a relationship with a woman and doesn't think he can. There is no option, however, since it means he would be denied his future with Flynn's Property Development, Inc. if he can't follow through. Georgie has been his long-suffering PA and has coddled and led him through his disorganized life. He doesn't question her because he knows that she has his success in mind and, better yet, he trusts her thoroughly. When he realizes that they have shared practically everything and they are comfortable together, he thinks he has his answer. Georgie has always had feelings for him but tells herself that he would never think of her that way. Besides, she can't compete with the gorgeous models he dates. When he makes an offer of a lifetime if she will be his fake fiancé and fake wife, she realizes that she needs the money to support her father as his heart troubles get worse by the day. When he tells his father that he and Georgie are involved, his dad smiles and tells him that he's seen the way they look at each other and it's about time! Things don't always go smoothly, they are often hilarious together and behave as a long-standing couple. Hudson is always lurking, hoping to cause major trouble between the two. The journey to their happy ending is just, wow! Sweet, funny and so sexy! You can't help falling in love with Georgie and Pat, right along with them.
I really loved this!!! I loved the dynamic between Pat/Patterson and Georgie! She is his PA, but they have become best friends over the years. Their snark and witty banter, mostly Georgie's, is fabulous. She is used to cleaning up his messes, but when he tells her needs a fiancee or lose the company to his cousin she ins't sure this is a mess she can help with. They come to an "arrangement", but once he realizes what has been in front of him the whole time he is wishing it was much more. Things begin to get very real, for both of them and they are forced to confront the truth about what they really mean to each other. Sooo good!!!
Georgie is PA to Patterson. Unknown to Patterson she is trying to get enough money to start up her own marketing business but needs a lot of money to care for her sick father too. Patterson offers her the chance to get enough money for both. Up until now they have been boss and employee but Patterson needs a fake relationship fast to convince his father his playboy days are over. He suggests he pay Georgie to get engaged and married to him before his father retires. This gives her the money she needs and him the company he is desperate to run. However, the route they take gets complicated! Read an ARC for an honest review.
I'm giving this book a total of 3.75 stars. I felt that the story was just okay for me. Patterson is a spoiled brat if you ask me and didn't really do much for me as a character and didn't enjoy him so that right there made the story a bit boring. I love this author and the books she has written but this one just didn't do it for me as much as the others. Now having said that, just because this one wasn't a favorite of mine doesn't mean it won't be yours. Please read all the reviews as well as the authors synopsis to see if this will be your next read.
This fake fiancée story was done right! Given an ultimatum by his father, man whore Pat had a few weeks to find a fiancée and change his reckless ways. Enter his long term PA, Georgia, with a sick father and a desire to open her own business. With his evil cousin waiting in the wings and the paparazzi on their heels they have a big task ahead. One of the big selling points about this book is the affection and respect the main characters have for each other. Beautiful story. Once Pat recognizes his woman there was no stopping him.
Pat and Georgie put a whole new spin on friendship and love! This book will pull all your heartstrings and give you the feels. Patterson and Georgia are best friends who take it to new levels turning their friendship into a fake relationship to help him obtain his fathers business and her with her fathers surgery. It starts off friendly and turns into something much more making them both question how started and where it will end. It’s funny, sweet, steamy, and just romantic. It’s probably one of my favorite books and I guarantee a read more than once!
It's must be really hard to watch someone that you call your best friend, but deep down,in utmost secret part of your heart in love with, go through women more often than changing his clothes. And worse, seen him in the act... Wow!! However, you can run ,but you can't hide from fate, QUE SERA SERA. That was the case of Georgia and Patterson... Great read, grab a copy and enjoy!!
A lot of times I read love stories and I doubt the love that’s between the characters, this one is different. Definitely complicated but there’s no doubt or question when it comes to the fact that their love it’s real. Their dynamic and the things they said to/ do for each other, I literally couldn’t stop reading, as tired as I was there was no way I was going to sleep without finishing this book.
This was a sweet, but very predictable book. By the time it got to the meat of the story ( the middle) I started to lose interest. Also, towards the middle of the book the editing stopped because there were errors all over the place until the end of the story. This took away from the story and was quite distracting. Writing 101: Capitalize the first letter of a word in a sentence.
I just loved this book. Loveable characters, great storyline. It is not 5 stars because the story, but because the lots, lots, lots of mistake: no capital letters in the beginning of the sentences and sometimes even the names was print with lower case letters. It was annoying.
Yes I loved Patterson and Georgie story, I laughed when Pat confronted Hudson and told him to stay away from his girl. Now the foreplay was off the charts, whip cream, caramel syrup, with strawberries. That seemed wicked and fun, I had to smile at the end love does conquer all.
This story was a little different from the rest of the fake fianceés they were already in love just didn't know it. And it was funny to read about playboy Patterson falling in love. I remember Ivan telling him that in the love doctors. I really enjoyed both stories.
Wow, it took a minute for me to same up to Pat. His behaviour definitely put him in the category of a maw$ore. Georgia had insecurities to deal with, but they both matured in their journey. Their love was real and true.
I loved the fact that Pat changed for the women he loved. I really loved reading their love story. This was a first for me by this author and I look forward to reading more. Well Done!
This was a great book. There was good growth from the two leads wonderful support characters. The steam was not over the top. The only thing I didn't like was some plot points felt rushed and weren't built on.
Good quick read. Like the story line, however I felt the ending could have been better, also there were way too many typos, other than that it was a good book.
So freaking good!!! I could not put it down once I started! Pat is so freaking hilarious and I loved Georgia!!! They were so cute together!!! Definitely looking forward to more form this author!!!!
This was a very good read. The storyline was fun, but it also had heart. I thought the spark between Georgie and Patterson was evident and I loved that Georgie had a core of steel because with Patterson she really needed it. I liked both characters though if I am brutally honest, I kind of had to get there with Patterson. What can I say, he was annoying at the start. This is my candid, freely posted review.
i just can't get past his manwh*re ways. they've been friends for a long time and he never looked at her in any romantic way, but then all of sudden he had a 180 and now finally wants to be with her? i bet that wouldn't even happen had he not have any need for a fake fiancée.
and for the heroine idk how you can even be with that kind of guy, you had front row seat with all of his dalliances. you saw how he treated those women and you knew how he takes playboy to a whole new level.
their budding romance is so unbelievable, it's so cringe worthy. i don't like the guy and i don't buy that he has now feelings for her. as for the heroine, i wanna shake her hard for falling for him, it's bad enough that she has to pretend to be his fiancée but is worse that she actually fell in love with him.
he's so not redeemable, this would've been a 1 star but seeing the h as kind person (but somehow questionably stupid for me) i'll be giving this 2 stars.
