When Alana isn't writing, it's likely that she's on the floor wrestling with her kids. Or playing outside with her kids. Or chauffeuring her kids. Or trying some random science experiment with her kids. But she's probably not cooking or cleaning.
Alana is a homeschooling mother of three who loves to write, hates to cook, and enjoys reading a good book almost as much as she enjoys writing one.
Alana won the Women of Faith writing contest for "The Beloved Daughter," her debut inspirational novel. "What, No Sushi?" is Alana's first book in a chapter-book series for kids published by Do Life Right, Inc.
All three books held my total interest throughout. In the same place but differing times, the characters and their stories were very different. The last book gave some insight to this white woman into things black people live every day. Especially relevant during this time of social unrest due to police violence against black people.
I really enjoyed this box set. At first I thought it was going to be one of those light easy reads, but as the stories progressed, the suspense got more intense. I loved the characters especially jade's daughter Des. There were many good lessons to do with God and faith in these stories. There were also totally crazy people, which makes the story interesting and realistic. I think the third story was probably my favourite, though the other 2 stories were good too. If i had to choose, I would say Third book, then book 2 then book 1. Not really sure why, but the second and third stories seemed more intense. The Narration took me a little while to get in to, but once I did, it was great. There were a couple of times when i felt there were things that were not quite explained in the story, like how did Saphire get to Jade's friend and how did she force her to trap Jade. Other than that, I would highly recommend this series and will be looking for more books from this author. .
I did not enjoy these books as much as others by this author. A bit disappointing. In Identity Theft, I felt the story moved too fast over some parts and bemoaned other parts too often (enough complaints about the mosquitoes!). I thought a visit by the h's foster Mom Sandy would be a blessing, but Sandy this time seemed to be a helicopter Mom and annoying, even made fun of. I expected more suspense. I found Termination Dust to also be disappointing. A story of domestic violence and abuse. Not much suspense and rather unrealistic. Not up to par with previous books I've read by this author. I found Frost Heaves to be suspenseful, but rather far fetched and unrealistic. Not up to the author's high standard of suspenseful writing. Overall, 3.5 stars for this series.
What a page turner series! You never know what is going to happen next. The twists and turns in these three novels is amazing. Figuring out who the real bad person is fun along with the romance which develops between two of the main characters. Encouragement of always turning to God no matter what is going on is a real life lesson. Also showing how much God continues to love us even when we turn our back brings hope. I hope you enjoy these books as much as I have and get some sleep!
This box set had it all. It had relatable characters put into impossible situations. By the end, the characters felt like old friends. The storylines dealt with topics like witness protection, domestic violence, and false teachers. The characters faith journeys light a path for all who read their stories. The HEAs provide hope for those going through their own struggles.
These stories are hard yo put down. The characters are interesting and diverse. The challenges they face are riveting. I like that their faith in God is a big part of their lives. I will more of Alana Terry’s books
Christian suspense is great. I’m a first time reader of you. Hard to find good Authors. Thanks. It is t worth the read. I’ve only have read the the first 3 of the Alaskas 9. I will continue.
Don't really tell a continuation from them one to another. They use one character from the story before the next. Its a good thing they are back to back because they are short stories. Cute stories.
Loved all the books. Had a hard time putting down. Some nights I would stay up reading until 5:30 a.m. Spellbound reading. Love Chrisian Suspense reading
