Probably one of the sweetest teenaged lesbian romance stories that I've ever read.

I'll Reach for You ignores the usual lesfic go to tropes as far as romance between young women is concerned. Hunter Bennett makes a thunderous entrance into the life of Skylar Mason. As her social worker, Skylar's dad fails to find placement for Hunter in the foster care system. His solution is to bring Hunter home to live with his own family which wreaks havoc on Skylar's peace of mind. She doesn't want a stranger living under the same roof and she's in the dark about Hunter's personal history. Since they will be attending the same high school, she dearly resents the idea of babysitting Hunter during the daytime. Hunter feels very scared, shy and closed off. It's a super awkward and rocky start for their relationship.

The novel portrays a fundamental shift in character development as their relationship becomes serious. Skylar must put aside her fear of change and her resentments in order to be the patient and caring girlfriend that Hunter needs. Hunter learns to trust the love and security that Skylar offers as she tries to deal with her abusive childhood. Are there plot holes? Yes. Are there some problems with proofreading? Sure. I'm not sure that social workers can bring eighteen year old foster kids into their home. It doesn't seem like Skylar's parents would be as uninvolved with Hunter, especially since she experienced terrifying abuse and homelessness over a prolonged period of time. Skylar doesn't seem like the best candidate to help Hunter deal with her psychological and social deficits. The adults and the professionals are woefully M. I. A. in providing a support system that Hunter desperately needs.

Despite these reservations, this is now one of my all time favourite teenage lesbian romances.

Urgh...I hate doing this and this does not happen often but this book as of right now is DNF. I just cant do it anymore. It's long and redundant and i can only take so many chapters of them saying I love you to each other and I'll wait as long as you need and then push for more. Its irrating and bugging the heck out of me. I tried the skim technique but even that didnt work. I got about 51% through it and just couldnt do it anymore. On top if that the way the paragraphs are were driving me insane. I couldnt figure who was talking half the time and had to go back. *Sigh* I was hoping to like it and it started off promising almost similiar to The Moments but more dialogue. And then it just wasnt anymore and I...I just couldnt do it anymore.

So I really don't like giving bad reviews but in this case, the first 30 percent of the book the plot moved along and I Was thinking this is not bad...then we were informed the 2 girls loved each other..and were we informed..over and over and over for chapter and chapter..then around 55 percent it picked up a bit but it didn't last. I had to go into skim mode around 70 percent as I was just looking for some form of plot? It was there but it was hidden under so many chapters of..how much in love the MCS were. The book should have been thinned down by about half. Again I don't like giving bad reviews but I feel I have to be honest as I think a few people pay attention to my book adds. Sorry but skip this one.

I will agree with other book reviews the redundancy of I love you spoken over and over is exhausting.

However, when you get past that and look deeper you definitely see a sweet teenage lesbian romance that blossoms into beauty.
