This book was so refreshing. Simply true love from start to finish. Beautiful. Make sure you read the series in all its glory. Bancroft Boys....I want one! -- Amazon Reviewer Love isn’t for the black sheep of the family. Believe me. I’m him.
Roses. Chocolates. Love notes.
Bullshit. Until it isn’t.
Never in a million years did I expect to fall in love.
Let alone with her. My favorite childhood enemy.
This girl used to make my blood boil just by walking in the room.
Now she does other things to me with nothing more than a look.
And it’s making me want more than the tense passion we keep doing nothing about.
I’ll break down her walls and show her a side of me she’s never seen. One that will steal her breath and hold her heart hostage.
It’s my first time to entertain the idea of forever, but she leaves me no choice.
Hi! I’m Ali Parker, a USA Today bestselling author who has been writing contemporary and new adult romance for over a decade, creating heartfelt, swoony stories that give readers a place to escape and feel a little lighter. Every book I write starts with a simple “what if” and is crafted the old-school way; with imagination, long nights, too much coffee, and a deep love for storytelling (no AI here, just heart and a dedicated human team I treasure like family).
I left my career as a CPA to follow that calling, inspired by the power one great story can have to bring hope and joy. These days, I live in Tennessee with my husband (my real-life book boyfriend), our family, and my sweet grandbabies who make life even sweeter. When I’m not writing, I’m dreaming up new stories, crafting A LOT, and soaking up every moment with the people I love most. Oh, and drinking way too much coffee. Don’t judge.
Welcome to my stories, your escape, your adventure, and maybe even your next favorite love story.
This is a story about family dynamics & hangups that many folks face in real life. It's abut a couple who are frenemies that develops into more..
If not for the first couple of chapters where the couple was constantly bickering & all the OW making a play on Hero, I may have truly enjoyed it. As is, I skipped the first half and began reading the last half or so when they had developed their relationship. Once they became a couple, I liked it.
“Dalton, I’m ready to start my life with her. I’m not a teenager who falls in and out of love as often as I change my underwear. I’m not a serial dater who drifts from one relationship to the other. I know what I’m doing, and I know what I want. I want her,”
Safety - When the book opens, Hero is in a bar and he picked up a random woman while he was drunk and said he was looking to hook up that night. We are never told what happened with her but he was grinding on the dance floor with her and he woke up alone the next morning and nothing else was mentioned about that scene. This was before heroine came into the picture. Then after he & heroine meet during a dinner out with mutual friends, there were women all over him checking him out and him flirting with them but he later tells heroine that he didn't enjoy having them touch him & wasn't interested in them at all (lol). That's a NO-NO for me in my romances.... Neither are virgins!
So why 3 stars? I initially gave it 4 but because the first couple chapters irritated me, it took away my enjoyment of the rest of the story.... Still a good read though for those who want to take a chance on it....
I enjoyed this new "Bancroft Billionaire Brothers" story! It's a delightful enemies to so much more story. I really enjoyed Mason and Adelaide's story! Great chemistry with witty banter and wonderful passion. So perfect for each other! It's a roller coaster ride of ups and downs that is never boring and keeps you on your toes.
Absolutely Awesome Read, well written, great characters, Awesome story line, easy read to hold you on their journey, this genre might not be for everyone but its a really wonderful story cannot wait for more from this Author. "I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book."
Mason comes across as spoilt and a brat. He keeps goes on and on, on not wanting to be anything like his brothers and how they do not understand him.
I am abit confuse here. If you read the first book in this series. You meet Hannah and Grayson. Who meet when Hannah business needs saving. While Adelaine and Mason do not meet because Adelaine business needs saving. The premise that Bancroft did not like Adelaine because she was working class contradicts this has Hannah to was a working class girl who fell in love with Grayson.
This book has so much contradictions to the first book. While Hannah had a company worth millions she was working class girl who successfully made money from her company.
Adelaine owns the business which might not be worth a million but it is her own. So the premise that the mother does not like Adelaine when Grayson wife does not come from wealthy background either.
The second thing is Mason keeps going on and on about not wanting to be like his brothers but unlike him they actually have jobs. One of his brothers is even a photographer and this book implies that Mason mum and dad only wanted their children to follow into the business. The fact that you have a brother who is photographer contradicts the narrative.
Mason has no ambition, drive or goals. He literally lives of his inheritance from his godmother and things because he did not take the Bancroft money makes him better. He still a rich kid with alot of money. Who gets to bed late ane waste his days.
Adelaide character is driven and ambitious yet she settles with Mason. I just do not see the two together for the long haul.
***** Review of book 3: 4 stars I purchased a copy of the steamy Manhattan set novel My First Love Affair (Bancroft Billionaire Brothers Book 3): Mason and Adelaide by Ali Parker and this review was given freely. Wonderful characters with a fair amount of drama and steamy scenes fill the pages of this rocky romance where emotions run high, differing personalities and views continue to increase Mason's isolation from his family but ultimately the ending is heartwarming. A hate to love relationships where two abrasive personalities mask loneliness and insecurities but an encounter involving some alcohol and a suddenly heightened awareness of each other leads to a steamy encounter setting the groundwork for wandering biker playboy Mason Bancroft to fall in love with his best friend's little sister's best friend, Sinclair's Coffee Shop owner Adelaide Sinclair. Can be read as a standalone but best if read in series as it follows the evolving lives of the Bancroft family. 18+ recommended for steamy scenes.
Adelaide, a coffee shop owner, and Mason, billionaire Bancroft bad boy, have always been at odds until one night out with each of their best friends. As the story progresses relationships evolve, feelings are exposed, and too much change could derail them all. Ali Parker has taken this enemies turned lovers tale to another level in My First Love Affair. Her portrayal of the Bancroft family dynamic is realistic and I can’t wait to see what she has in store for the remaining Bancroft brothers.
I received a free copy of the book from the author. I had the opportunity to review or not.
Mason is a billionaire, he is a bancroft, but he does not feel like a part of the family, unlike his brothers he does not wear suits, or work for the family business, and the women he loves is not from money, but perfect for Mason in every way.
Adelaide is a fairly independent women, but I don't think really by choice, she lost her father, her only family, shortly after highschool. She started her coffee shop Sinclairs in his honour. She knows Mason through her best friend Deanna. It was awesome watching their walls come down and discover how much alike they are, at the same time as being complete opposites
My favorite of the Bancroft Brothers Series so far. I like the tug of war of the Yin Yang of Mason and Adelaid. Everyone around them can see they are in love but them. They fight like cats and dogs, claws and fangs out everytime they see each other. They have known each other since childhood. Then something happens and things change, but do they? And then the family gets involved.. More drama and more drama..the story keeps you guessing. Can be read as a stand alone but better if you read them in order. I really enjoyed this book
I actually enjoyed this book more than the others. They bantered for a while, though I didn't quite get why there was such animosity between the two of them, but apparently neither did they as they ended up dancing and realizing there is some chemistry there and away they went with the book. Overall, this one has been my favorite of the Bancroft Brothers so far. Better written and pretty realistic.
God, I can’t stand these two!!! Adelaide, I hate her name and I hate her! She’s such a jealous bitch because Mason has money!??? That is why she has hated him for years? They finally get together, and she sees him in a restaurant with another woman and he doesn’t try to explain? For days? I didn’t care if these two wound up together, in fact it’s probably the first time I hoped a couple would not be together- DNF 50%
This is one of those stories that wears you out from reading it because you are so emotionally involved with the characters! Mason and Adelaide's relationship is difficult because they are too much alike and because of that there is no give and take. With all of their bantering it is amazing that they find time for love, but it works for this intriguing couple as they play the romance dance to happily ever after. I voluntarily agreed to receive an ARC of this book for an honest review.
Mason and Adelaide had known each other for years and hated each other. Adelaide had been asked for drinks by her best friend not knowing Mason was also invited. They both had too much to drink and ended up in bed together at the end of the night. Then they couldn't get the encounter off their minds. How could they have a relationship with someone they hate? It's fun to watch them navigate this problem. Very hot!! Wonderful series!!!
Verdict is in, Mason is my favorite Bancroft! My heart absolutely went out to the "black sheep" of the Bancroft clan! He rebelled, and for good reason. I loved reading about Mason and Addy - they're like water and oil, but fire too! I do wish the storyline showed a bit more resolution with Mason's estrangement with his family. PS: I hate Grayson after this book LOL. Mason deserves a better big brother.
I really like your writing Ali, you have fun banter and great chemistry…why do you make all of the women in your books so incredibly weak? I would love to see a strong female character, not cowering to her family, but standing up for herself. You really miss the mark here, your characters are not 18…they are in their late 20’s-30’s. You do your readers (mainly women) a great disservice.
I just loved Mason and Adelaide story!! They are such a great couple!! They are both strong willed and heard headed but they are great together!! After his family saw she wasn't with him for him money they came around to her and liked her!! They had a few bumps along the way but they got there happy ending!! I would recommend this book to anyone!
Another brilliant book by Ali Parker. So loved this book. Loved the storyline and the characters. Loved the connection all the characters had. Absolutely loved Mason and Adelaide. Lovely steamy, heartwarming story worth every one of the 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I've given.
I absolutely loved Adelaide and Mason’s story. I smiled, laughed and even cried. It’s intriguing storyline and characters kept me turning pages wondering what would happen next. I couldn’t stop reading it until I was finished with the last word. I definitely recommend this book to anyone looking for an awesome read
I loved that Addy and Mason bickered and insulted each other in the beginning then one night things changed, for the both of them.
This was a great read. Very few typos (love that), great imagery, and a great balance. Not a rush. Had a hard time going to sleep because I wanted to keep reading.
dnf 15%. Promising start. The enemies to lovers aspect? Way too ottp. For someone who apparently hates the mmc she thinks about him aloooot. My breaking point was the dance scene, yes theres alcohol involved. Still cant see the reason they would randomly dance together and start giggling and shit. No thank u.
Frenemies to Lovers! The story of Adelaide and Mason is a beautiful complication. Mason finds his life and purpose in his lonely life. Addy's life becomes a beautiful chance at life and better opportunities. This is a story of where it doesn't matter what "Social or Income" status you come from to find love. You are who you are and you love who you love.
I read the first two book on Grayson and Jack which focus on the father's will and company. But Mason's love story was find love in unlikely person and how this relationship change his relationship with his family
Ali Parker writes hot stories about hot characters from a hot, slightly dysfunctional family. If this series gets much hotter, the whole library will go up in flames.
Here’s the thing, why would a mother not understand her son if she supposedly had “spent hours asking about how to understand” him with his godmother that ‘got him’? Another story that missed the mark by just a little. Could have been so much better.
I love this series but so disappointed the series has not continued. Would love to meet the other brothers while ead of up dates of the firstv3 brothers. All brothers different and add colour to the family. The mother is a rock. Please write the next book.
I cannot really say it was intriguing but it was sapenceful. Once again I found myself talking to the book like I wanted to say how dumb I though someone was. Lol 😂
30% of this book, and I just couldn't anymore. Some characters are angry when it makes no sense for them to be so and others are chill when they should be angry. Just couldn't force myself to finish it.
ok bancroft boys happen again and I love it!!!!! there is so much to each of the brothers and I have to admit each one brings and even more interesting story!
