Blame it on the Night is an intriguing collection of sensory overload. From laugh out loud moments, to breathtaking love stories and scene stealing characters, these authors brought their A-game and then some.
A good boxed set of books by nine different authors, seven of which I am familiar with and have read numerous books written by them. Two authors were new to me and I will be putting them onto my To Be Followed list from now on.
My favorite of the nine stories had to be Enchanted by Moonlight by Sandra Sookoo. I loved how Charlotte was willing to defy the restrictions placed upon women during that time period and how the author was able to still showcase her femininity along with her independence! So many authors do not seem to remember that their heroines are still women first and independent persons second. Everett was definitely swoon-worthy!
Dawn Brower is also a favorite author of mine and her book Chance of Love was a very close second in the stories I liked the most. I liked how once Lenora realized that she had to get over her shyness she really blossomed and was able to somewhat thumb her nose at Julian and made him work to get a second chance with her.
Jane Charles has a lovely book featured in Once Upon a Midnight Masquerade. Claresta and Donovan certainly had a few things to overcome, mostly the whole class division stickler from that era. I liked how it was the H that was more worried about the difference in their social standing than the h (or her father) was. That was refreshing! I also remembered why I never enjoyed Shakespeare when I had to read it in school. I could not understand half of what that style of speech says!!
A good selection of books by some very talented writers!!

Blame it on the Night Read one book in this collection: Seeking Rachel by Josie Riviera Have read other books in this series especially about the gypsies and can't wait to learn more about them and their ways. Starts with praise from the author's works. Rachel is caring for her young cousin as her father had made arrangements for her to live with them and earn her keep. They both visit the gardens often as they love being outside and a man, Nash approaches them one day and before he knows it he's telling her all his hidden secrets. He knows she's the one but others have him paired with another woman who's stood behind him forever. Rachel has never visited the dances and balls but they are all invited to a birthday party and she learns Nash is to be there also. Kids have lots of things to do among themselves thus giving Rachel a chance to just walk around by herself. He finds her after his mother told him she had left to get some air at night after her charge has gone to bed. They are able to spend a bit of time together and when she hears of his betrothal to another the next day she leaves. Upon her return she learns also about her mother and runs away to seek the truth from her father, who raised her. Things get so mixed up for them both and he travels the countryside til he locates her and tells her the real truth. Enjoyed this read as it's an easy story with twists and turns and so much more to learn about the gypsies: their lifestyle choices, travel and mysteries. I received this review copy from the author and this is my honest opinion.:
Once Upon a Midnight Masquerade by Jane Charles When Lady Claresta Copeland slipped into a scandalous masquerade disguised as Juliet, she never imagined she would encounter her one true Romeo in the process. For the last year, Donovan MacGregor has been searching for his lost Juliet, only to stumble upon her in the least expected place of all I was drawn in from the start, Claresta going to a courtesan ball was priceless. She’s feisty & pretty mature for her age. I loved how their relationship developed when they met again in London. Donovan was really lovely & his attitude towards women very different from the norm. I loved the quotes from Romeo & Juliet which enhanced the book & also were very apt considering how they met. The poisonings added a bit of intrigue & as it’s a novella chivvied the pair along & made them realise their feelings. My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read

I have read some of these authors but some are new to me so a collection like this is a good way to get to know some new (to me) authors. In Jane Charles' Once Upon A Midnight Masquerade we have something of a Cinderella sotry. While in Edinburgh, Lady CLaresta sneaks away to attend a masquerade ball (not knowing that the women there are courtesans). Dressed as Juliet, she meets her own Romeo. They dance and share a kiss and then she must leave the balll to go home to London. A year later Donavan MacGregor is in London on business and attenda a ball with some friends. Is it possible that the young woman he is introduced to was the Juliet he had been searching for. This is a quick fun love at first site story and the Happily Ever After is worth it. I received an advanced copy of this story.
An amazing collection by authors that are well know in historical romance. I had read books by all except two of these and it is always wonderful to find new writers! Needless to say each held it's own with delightful heros and heroines and know that once you start, you will not be able to put it down!! Believe in Love by Amanda Mariel Childhood friends that meet again ten years later. Brooke had always looked forward to seeing Drake in the summer. She was ignored by her family but she always knew her time with him would be special. Now a Duke, she runs into him literally in London and those old feelings come back. But he was looking for a wife and knew she was not the one for him. But the heart wants what the heart wants and who knows what ill happen? Will her long ago friend truly care for her? A romantic story that warms the heart!!
Wonderful characters in each book. What a wonderful historical romance, adventure, and mystery collection. There were wonderful characters in each book. The authors have put the characters into some very interesting challenges and the twists were fantastic. I will be honest I could not wait to read “Believe in Love” by Amanda Mariel she is one of my favorite author and this cutie did not disappoint. It was a quick read and Brooke and Drake were great and I love the ending so much. The books by Jane Charles, Sandra Sookoo, Dawn Brower, Shannon Nemechek, Angelique Armae, Aileen Fish, Diana Bold, and Josie Rivera added so much to the collection. This was such an entertaining group of books I highly recommend it. I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
I absolutely adore box sets containing books by different authors, and I especially enjoy ones that are themed around historical romantic fiction. I was familiar with most of the authors in this set, though a few were new to me. Each story was unique, and while there was of course some variance in quality between the authors, I would say that most of them did a good job creating believable and relatable characters and plots that I enjoyed following, with a few little twists and turns that made it all the more interesting. A solid collection if you enjoy romantic historical fiction.
I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.
I have only read Josie Riviera's Seeking Rachel, but it was a delight. Rachel, whose family does not value her, has been sent to London as governess to her cousin's child. There she meets Nash Browning. She is intrigued but believes he is above her station in life. Besides he is engaged to another. It was interesting to read how this was resolved to an HEA. I am looking forward to reading the other books.
I love a good anthology! They are great ways to find new authors. I have read stories by several of the authors that contributed to this collection but got to meet some new ones as well. This is a good collection of nine historical romances which are well written. I really enjoyed the plots and characters. Nicely developed stories and captivating reads. One night can lead to so much more. Mystery, suspense, romance, adventure and more.
This is an amazing box set of nine historical romance, mystery, and adventure stories by different authors. All of these books have great characters and each story has a different storyline to keep your interest piqued. This is a fabulous box set for a great weekend of reading and relaxing. I read and reviewed a copy of this book with no obligation.
I just love a good boxset. Boxsets are the best because you find new authors to read. Intrigue, suspense and true love are what makes for good HEA. Awesome awesomeness.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
A great set of Historical romance, adventure, mystery stories that are well written, and some of them had me smiling as I read. I will be reading this set again. I recommend this set. I received a copy of this set via Booksprout and I also bought it.
Seeking Rachel - Wonderful story of redemptive love and forgiveness. The characters face issues brought on by childhood distresses and adult tragedies. Love conquers all.
This was a varied collection of historical romances. I liked certain stories and characters better than others. Some of them were second chance and others were first time romances. Some romances were clean, some were not. Many of them were books in a series.
This is a wonderful collection of intriguing, romantic, amusing and romantic stories. The storylines are all very good, and the characters are likeable and charming.
