A great second instalment in the Red River Trilogy. The author really ramps up the stakes in this book, I couldn't put it down. My love for the engineer Kieran continues to grow, and I will violently hate anyone who is mean to him (shakes fist at a certain character, I won't say who. You'll see for yourselves). Even though I forgot a few things from the last book, I didn't have trouble figuring out what was going on. The story is fairly self contained for a second book in a series, which, as a self-published author currently working on a second book in a series, find it very challenging at the moment. I highly recommend this series for lovers of sci-fi and space pirate type of genres.
