BRIAN CHRISTOPHER SHEA has spent most of his adult life in service to his country and local community. He honorably served as an officer in the U.S. Navy. In his civilian life, he reached the rank of Detective and accrued ten years of law enforcement experience between Texas and Connecticut. Somewhere in the mix he spent five years as a fifth-grade school teacher. Brian’s myriad of life experience is woven into the tapestry of each character’s design. He resides in New England and is blessed with an amazing wife and three beautiful daughters.

Writing has always been a dream, but life seemed to find a way of interrupting. It wasn’t until recently that he dedicated time to this passion. His first book, The Camel’s Back, gave him a much-needed mental break from his work investigating atrocities against children. He allotted time in the morning each day. Usually waking at 5 to bang away on his manuscript. The second round of daily writing would occur after his children were asleep. He proved that working full-time and raising a family were no longer valid excuses to putting off his novel.

A Terrorist Group Is Ready To Deliver A Message Through Innocents...

A country does not run on known legal forces only, as Nick Lawrence is soon to find out...There is one unit that operates outside of all normal boundaries of the federal government, bound only to themselves and their job. But to be a part of this unit you need to leave everything behind, for most, including your life....
Nick is in prison and after the depression, grieving all he lost, has finally returned to exercise and back to the strong-willed man he always has been. A note smuggled in his food from old friend Jay, gives him one opportunity to start making a difference again, saving those he has spent most of his life doing. And so through cutting red tape and an extraordinary bunch of people, he joins a unit like no other.
Terrorists have a plan set up which will hurt many by destroying innocents, but the unit starts working it's magic, trying to find out what is going on by whom. A story that shows what a fantastic group of very special operators find through skill, friendship, and a little hope.
Another intriguing story in an outstanding series!!!

After being introduced to this series with the fifth book in the series I went back to read the first four,in order. Am I glad I did.

The author chose to make it a continuing story. I was really lost reading Murder 8 first. Now the whole progression makes sense.

Great series and worth reading for those who like police thrillers.

Another winer

I like the idea of a special unit. It will only contribute to more exciting stories. Keep them coming and we will keep reading them.

Second Chances

Glad Nick is getting a 2nd chance but the price is high and loosing everything and everyone that you love is hard to imagine. Hopefully he can rebuild a life that includes more balance. Looking forward to the next adventure

Great book. A little too short for my liking but great anyway. Can’t wait to read the next one. Great transformation from the original Nick Lawrence series to the Valhalla group. Keeping all the same characters is genius. Just sorry to see “Gator” gone so quickly.

Targeted Violence

A well written story that has a lot of action and it doesn’t end as expected. A good series for those that like a story that the good guys win,but not before they get a bloody nose.

The New Nick

I wondered how Nick’s role would be continued and I think his role was recrafted (probably not a word) superbly. I once again am looking forward to the next book.

Not just another story about school shootings. Brian Shea has the ability to weave backstories and motives seamlessly together in an action packed thriller that puts the reader right in the middle of the mayhem. The Author gives chilling insight into what it is like to be bullied and to what extent victims can be manipulated, in order to find an escape from the torture inflicted upon them everyday.

As with all of Sheas other books; you won’t be able to put it down.

I am really enjoying this Nick Lawrence series even more than I expected. It is so much more than the typically crime novel/police drama. Here is Nick, a now ex-FBI agent who found himself in prison for taking the law into his own hands years earlier, killing five violent criminals who were busted on a child trafficking and sex ring who all got off on a technicality. He had gotten away with it for so long until a rogue FBI agent (who also happened to be the mother of the ringleader of the criminals involved) exposed his crime as an act of revenge.

There he sat in prison for several years until a covert message was sent to him. What occurs from there takes place in the story is what you must read to believe which was an intriguing thrill ride and action packed. There are new characters along with some familiar ones. Just when one thinks the story will go one way, it takes a shift that not even Nick expected. Great story and another highly recommended read.

A definite must read book and series

And just when you thought you had it all figured out..... In a plot twist that you'll never see coming, Nick isn't out of the game just yet. It's certainly not a story that you'll want to miss!
I would definitely recommend this book, series, and outstanding author.

Different

Getting into Nick's life in prison, and then his unusual escape was great. The situations his team was involved in were very technical and dangerous. The book was very readable and I would recommend highly.

Love that the characters from the previous books in the series make appearances and are not forgotten.

Someone needs to edit these books; there are so many grammatical errors.

Fair

Plot rather. Confusing. Characters are strange and hard to keep track of. Not a great book to read. Not enjoyable.

A new path for Nick

This storyline is taking Nick down a new path that he has not quite accepted yet. But Nick will soon come to understand its the only way.

Excellent story but it did not flow smoothly. The story had the potential to really take off and be a thriller but it fell flat
