This is the 6th in the "A Queen's..." series and as always has an unfinished ending meaning you have to buy the next in the 10 book series and keep reading until you get to the end of book 10. Clever! The book is in fact just one giant book spread out over 10!!!
The series is very good though, Richard Fitzwarren and his brother Jack are back in Malta looking to find Lizbet and retrieve her from the nunnery, but the main reason they are there is that Courtenay, not sure I've spelt that right, an influential nobleman at court is trying hard to get Elizabeth to marry him and then he will be king of england and she will be a diminished personality. Those who in Elizabeth's court know she doesn't want to get married she wants to rule in her own right and no man's. These shadowy men have told Richard that if he carries out one favour to the the future queen he will not get to spend the rest of his life in the tower and never see daylight again. Which leaves him little choice to take on their request to murder Courtenay.
So Richard once again sets off for Malta and meets up with the Knights and attends a hunt where Jack is humiliated and is angry and Richard has to tell him what he has been ordered to do. A few hours later after eating and drinking after the hunt Courtenay falls dead onto the floor, poison is expected. Richard and Jack have to leave Malta rapidly.
The storyline is also picking up on their father's imprisonment in his own home by their eldest no good brother Robert who is after their father's entire estate and their father is too poorly to stop him in his tracks. Which is where Richard and Jack come in, Jack having been arrested and placed in the tower never to be released.
I feel as if I'm flagging a bit here, the story lines are good and the characters are excellent but I don't think I should be trying to read all 10 in order in 3wks, it's becoming a task and not a joy. Think I will have a break and read something else and then come back to the series.

Another great adventure!
The tale keeps twisting and characters are love-ably flawed. There are no lulls in the story line, it remains action packed with stellar character development. I can’t wait for the book in this series to be released!

Saga continues
The brothers continue to struggle with each other and their personal agendas. The vast of characters continue to evolve and some grow as humans in one of England's troubled times as its warring factions continue their fight for supremacy

The characters have truly grown on me, now I’m actually looking forward to see how their story continues. Although still a bit wordy and littered with unnecessary details at time, the storytelling has vastly improved.

Another fast paced historical fiction that I enjoyed. Richard and Jack reunite with Lizbet, Froggy, and the rest if the men.
This is a very good series. Recommend for casual reading, but grad in order.

What situations Richard and Jack get themselves into. And they bring along lLizbet and Emilio for good measure. These are wonderful characters and the series just keeps getting better and better. I never wanted to end.

Excellent read
I have enjoyed the whole series and can’t wait for more. The characters are well rounded and the plot moves forward with speed.

I absolutely love this series. The trials of Richard, Jack and their companions are such that l have to keep on reading. Emilio is an ideal extra!

Not what I expected
I kept having a problem with the syntax. And the plot felt like it was just missing something. I can't really say I enjoyed this book.
