Eyes Wide Shut meets Cruel Intentions in this ruthlessly unforgiving and sexy dark, high school romance.

He calls us his broken saints.

And that’s what I am…or was. Broken. Until Gage Astor stole my heart and introduced me to a whole new seductive world—one with secrets and intrigue and money.

So much money. Money buys everything, even your reputation at Brighton Saints Academy, an exclusive high school for the elite.

I’m Remi St. James, and I’m new money. I don’t belong here, but the Broken Saints accepted me, molded me, shaped me into a stunning creature that slays life.

Enter Sawyer, Palmer, Rush, and Emry. The secret society amid Brighton Saints. The most beautiful and powerful. The only thing more valuable to them than money is secrets.

And oh, Brighton Saints is full of secrets.

We all have secrets…

After I’m initiated into the Broken Saints, that’s when the fun (and fear) really begins. I see things and hear things and do things no high school girl should ever be subjected to. And they make me believe it’s all my idea…

I’m a toy to them. It’s all a twisted game, and I don’t even know if I want it to stop… I’m in too deep now. There might not be any hope. Gage Astor is a god here; he won’t ever let me leave his society. When he says you’re his, you belong to him. Body, mind, and soul.

Just like all of his Broken Saints.

So I have to play their game. For now. I have to find a way out...before I lose myself to them completely.

Dark Ties is a Dark, Twisted, and Sexy Stunner!!!!

Check your morals at the door and toss your judgments in the trash bin.....either will just get in the way while reading this story.

The halls of Brighton Saints Academy are ruled by an elite group of teens with lethal amounts of money, intelligence and sex appeal. These teens are the elite of the elite, ruthless, manipulative and on fast track to a high powered life of luxury and sin. High school can be a treacherous and difficult place for any normal teen to navigate but the Broken Saints up that ante to catastrophic levels. When the stakes are this high and the rules mean nothing, the games can get….deadly.

There are no holds barred in Dark Ties. It’s sex fueled, intense, and twisty ride from the first word to the last. I never knew just who was playing who or what exactly the end game would be but I couldn’t help but enjoy watching these master manipulators play their devious games.
Dark Ties was a guilty pleasure for me and I couldn’t be happier with where it ended up. Bring on the next in this scorching series!

I really really wanted to love this book because the blurb sounded amazing.

A dangerous Elite world.
Secrets and lies.
Hot sex... what’s not to love right?

The plot was promising and intriguing. Lots of mystery and secrecy surrounding The Broken Saints society.

My issue was I couldn’t connect with the characters... at all. Like any of them.

I won’t give any spoilers away but I will say that this tug of war for Power between the Broken Saints group, is what I think put me off. They didn’t work as a team, everyone was out for themselves and I didn’t like that.

So this is what it’s like to read an actual porno🤔

Not even gonna lie...I had no idea the book would be like this going in. It’s pretty much a big orgy fest... Made me a bit uncomfortable at times.

But for some reason I couldn’t look away 👀

Dark Ties is the first book in Broken Saints Society trilogy by Leia Thorne . Thorne is a new to me author but Dark Ties has been popping up in my "recommended" reads for forever so I figured I'd give it a go.

So far, I'm loving the elite dark, dangerous, and deadly elite world of Brighton Saints Academy.

I'm loving this so far! Think of Cruel Intentions but with a whole lot of smoking hot group sex scenes!

Lol, seriously though, Gage is devious and I am loving it, but Sawyer is surely no slouch herself!

The power struggle between the two is REAL!

I still haven't figured out if the story is about Gage, Sawyer, or Remi yet but from the looks of it, all three are pretty important characters.

Dark Ties, book one of Broken Saints Society has literally ruined me. I don’t think I’ve ever read a book so filthy, yet has so much depth and story to it. Ever!

Then there’s the obvious link to the movie, Cruel Intentions... 😍 two main characters’ intention to corrupt the sweet and innocent fresh meat? Literally a perfect storyline!

I’m sure a lot of people probably feel like this is a clear cut bully book, and in a sense, they are right. Personally, I think this is more of a mind game kind of bully book though. There isn’t any shoving into lockers or hair being set on fire, etc. These kids are basically creating a false sense of safety and hope. I don’t believe Remi is safe AT ALL! Remi isn’t stupid, though. She knows nothing is free. There’s a catch. Definitely a catch...

Sawyer and Gage; they’ve known each other since birth pretty much. They are super pretty on the outside with incredibly dark souls. They are basically King and Queen of the hallways. They recruit the weak and damaged to join their somewhat secret society. I say somewhat because everyone knows this thing exists, but no one is brave enough to talk about it.

These kids, currently five of them, run the entire school. I mean, even the teachers envy their control! They’re a man down; cue Remi St James. She’s rightfully so confused as to why the elite want anything to do with her. She’s new money and a long way from home - after an accident, her and her dad pack up and move away. She’s in her final year and starting a new school. She’s lost, confused and shattered.

I love that we get three people’s perspective here. It’s refreshing and adds a much deeper connection. Gage, Sawyer, the gang and newly joined Remi are honestly animals. There’s a brief background on how each of the members became members, but we only hear from these three characters and I think the balance is perfect. Any more and I believe the drama of it all would’ve been lost.

Each of these kids is equally messed up; there’s literally m/f, m/m/f, f/f, groupies. Anything you could possibly want, this book has it! 🙌🏻 the best part, apart from it all being epically hot and heavy as hell, it’s written so well! It’s not cringey; in a weird way, it’s actually quite tastefully done. I know, I didn’t think I’d ever write that about m/m/f either! 😅😂 but this new author has truly thought long and hard about how this book can be more than just a bunch of young adults having sex with each other! I believe she has smashed this one out of the park. Side note; it’s not RH!

There are still so many unanswered questions that I’m just dying to find out the answers to, and even though this instalment ends on a killer of a cliffhanger, I’m still so happy I read it before the whole thing is completed. It deserves a reread before the next book is released!

I recommend this book, 100%!

Before I started this I read some of the reviews. Someone said this was a massive orgy, I figured it was a joke. Let me be clear, they weren't kidding. This was basically a story of sexual exploits done by rich kids with nothing better on their hands.

There wasn't really a clear plot. There's some type of a wager from our main characters regarding the new girl. Thus leads to the pushing of the story. But nothing of substance really happens. It was a sex scene, mysterious dialogue, sex scene, more mysterious dialogue, and an abrupt ending with no explanation.

I'm also slightly confused because this is deemed a romance, but it really isn't. It also could be seen as a love triangle, but it's not that either. I'm not sure what to really describe this. We have a hero and two heroines. I use that term lightly. You're not sure who you're actually rooting for and that's disconcerting as a reader.

Dark Ties is the first book in the Broken Saints Society. This book is dark. It is twisted. It will have you questioning your sanity at times. Forget about your morals. You're not going to want to judge either. This book is just best read without any of those things. Just go with the flow and you will really enjoy it. Fiction is fiction and not real life. This is why we read. To read about things that you would never do in real life. This book is about a group of friends who fight and struggle with each other for the power in their Broken Saints group. To say each is out for their own benefit is a understatement. You just need to read and see what happens. I do not want to spoil anything for anyone. I liked the book.I devoured it actually. I am a fan of the dark and twisted though. I thought Leia Thorne did an amazing job with this first book in this new series.

Dark Ties is Leia Thorne's debut novel and I read it cover to cover in one sitting. Think Cruel Intentions but sooooo much hotter. The dark, elite world of Broken Saints Society is filled with money, power, secrets and so much hotness that you may need a cool shower after reading it.

The power struggle between Gage and Sawyer was intense. When Remi entered the picture, things really got amped up. I had a hard time deciphering who is playing who and what the end game is actually supposed to be for all involved. Dark Ties was full of mystery and secrets, twists and turns I didn't see coming. The relationships among the elite: Gage, Embry, Sawyer, Rush, Remi and Palmer are intense, deep, and yet they all know who's really in charge: Gage.

This book was pure kindle crack for me. I was completely enthralled by the Broken Saints Society and can't wait to see what happens next.

This is how you make your debut! If you like twists and suspense, you’ll love this book. It’s like a well plotted game of chess. Just when you think they’ve made the right move, in swoops a better play. Pay attention to the details because they are on the board in front of you. These very naughty students are on fire!
Brighton is a learning place for the elite, those born with a silver spoon in their mouths. Where the Broken Saints Society was founded, a king, his queen and four members. It’s a secret society of six students who have pledged their trust in each other and are bound forever. However, they are down to five and it seems it’s time for the search to begin for a suitable replacement. Remy is a new student feeling torn from the attention of this elite group and the rumours. Will Remi succumb to the debauchery?

The book is ok it's pretty fast moving and can be read pretty quickly I almost finished it in 2 days but put it down to start on another I was waiting for. The main character tho seems extremely gullible and very desperate for approval. The author didn't come out in words to say that Remi and Lesley the girl before Remi that had taken her own life are twin sister's it did mention in the book that Lesley was adopted by her parents and multiple times mentioned how much Remi looks like her. I wish it went into a little more detail about the fall out between Remi's father and grandmother and why all of a sudden all the money was left to her father. I'm not Completely sure that Gage likes Remi much at all tho it is pretty clear that Sawyer really does care for the girl. We find out why Remi was selected to be the 6th person in the society at the end of the book. The book does have quite abit of sex in it more like a orgy of sex. I do wish it focused abit more on Gage and Remi. I will say the initiation process did bother me abit. She had to give a secret she definitely didn't want anyone 2 know aswell as her virginity. She selected Sawyer for that process strange as Sawyer is a female character and I didn't get the vibe that Remi was into girls. However Gage did not let it stay as a toy taking her V-card and very forcefully took it for himself without a care for her. It didnt seem to bother Remi much at all that this happened which was abit strange . Also what's Gage's deal with always asking one of the other males to finish the girls off and make them cum he never does it himself is it because of his Obsession with Sawyer? It doesn't seem like he doesnt care if the girls dont get off because he does have another Male help out with that. I definitely will read book 2 and find out what's going on. I do feel like I was left with alot of questions. I am interested in what comes of Gage's and Remi's relationship in the second installment of the series.

It’s not for everyone but I want to recommend this series. The emotional roller-coster is real. Sometimes you need that.

Plot (for the whole series) : A group of rich teenagers, both bored of their lives and under the pressure and/or lack of love of their parents, has created a secret society. The leader actually have some sort of a fantasy of secret society, and is very strong in his belief that they control everything, which he wants to be a part of, thus trying to emulate them at a high-school. What appels to him (from my point of view) is the « above the law » tendency of such society, as well as an illusion of control over the members. When one member kills herself, it deeply affects the dynamic of the group.
Arrives the « new girl » which is chosen to fill the 6th spot. The group’s dynamic evolves, and some mysteries about the past are uncovered along the way.

But, remember, they are teenagers in their senior year. Do not expect emotional maturity from them or you’ll be disappointed. And all the drama and the sex ? Well, that’s a cliche of rich teenagers in YA literature and filmography (see Gossip Girl for a developed example).
Even though the character development was not the best (when it was even there - there were missed opportunities for secondary characters), I see potential. I was unsatisfied by the ending but it was still good. Just not what I wanted, and I think the author could push the universe she created a bit with a sequel at university level. I would read it ! (While hoping that my ship finally sails I confess)

It’s a god idea with a good writing. The characters were pretty well rounded and in depth, at least sawyer, gage, and remi. I didn’t feel like I got a good idea of the other three as much. I also didn’t get a good feel of the world they live in. There was little interaction with anyone outside of the group and the story teased at darker themes without actually going to anything dark, twisty, or taboo. They are supposedly a secret society that runs the schools and one day wants to run the town... but all I saw them have any control over was sex... with each other. And, if they have to give their bodies to someone in the group to join, and sawyer and gage were the first to join, wouldn’t that then mean they should have given themselves to each other at the creation of the group? So... how have they not had sex with one another? It just made it seem like the rules were made up just for Remi.

I will read the next book because it’s an interesting concept. I hope it get a little more dark and complicated and that the members of the bss start to work together towards any common goal. I hope to get more connectivity to rush and the others and see the groups dynamics in conjunction with outsiders.

Interesting

This was certainly an interesting story.
Not what I was expecting but this book was still filled with intrigue, secrets and conspiracies.

The main character is kind of hard to discern as it follows the story of the Broken Saints Society. The main three characters, Cage, Sawyer and Remi are all really different from the norm. Cage is really just wanting love, the kind without conditions but he also has his secrets, agendas and schemes. Sawyer is another elite who kinda despises men, except for what that can do in the bedroom; she uses sex as a weapon and will not let anyone have power over her. Her and Cage have a very twisted and toxic relationship but we don't really see anything eventuating but the games they play.
Then there is Remi, she is the play toy that Cage has picked out to be the newest member of the society. She is kinda naive but she also knows what's she is doing and because she wants to escape her own life, she just let's herself be played with and drowns in the society's games.

There isn't a definitive storyline or plot, so I'm not sure how the second book will go. I'm not completely enraptured by this book, but it's was an okay read.

I really liked this book! It gave me major Cruel Intentions vibes...And I adore that movie. The main guy, Gage had me thinking of a young sexy Ryan Philippe. He is in love with Sawyer, soon to be step sister, and she had hidden love for him even though she hasn't admitted it to him or anyone else. She says she don't believe in love and she believes as soon as Gage gets what he wants (her naked and under him) he will not be interested in her anymore. She shows heavy disgust for him but when she notices him showing interest in Remi (the new pet of the group) she gets super jealous. I really liked Remi! I was going back and forth between wanting Gage to get with Sawyer and wanting Gage to get with Remi but all in all, Gage is a douche and both girls are too good for him. This book had LOTS of descriptive sex scenes. I LOVED IT! TONS OF SEX! HEHE. It was almost like a full blown orgy everytime Palmer and Emry got naked. The ending had my mind spinning and I have all these theories on what happened to Lesley, how she really died, how dark IS the Broken Saints Society, WHO REALLY IS REMI?? So many questions I need answers to and I cannot wait for the next book.

Dark ties is book one in the ‘’broken saints society’’ series. I read this book in two sittings as I struggled to get into it. Because the story is told in three different points of view, I wasn’t sure what was going on at first. As the story unravelled, answers and questions revealed themselves. This story is dark and angsty. Dark ties is the first book of Leia Thorne’s that I have read. I found the writing style a little hard to follow until the second half. The characters intriguing and mysterious and the storyline full of angst.
Gage and Sawyer are the king and queen of a secret elite society. Both are ruthless and unforgiving. Gage wants Sawyer but she refuses to let him have her. She isn’t willing to appear weak.
Remi St James is a new student at the broken saints academy. She is the outcast and hasn’t got a clue where she stands yet she is willing to try for her father’s sake.
Gage wants Remi as part of the elite. In order to get what he wants he challenges Sawyer. Who will Remi choose when it the time comes to pick?
The storyline is fairly easy to follow and it is an intriguing read. I cannot wait for the next book in this series.

From the book description I was assuming this was an RH.... It’s not, it’s also not a menage or really any sort of “relationship”. It’s a group of teenagers in a “secret society” who just screw around. Whether 2 or more they are in the same room, watching or joining. It’s just a book of bad teenager porn. The tiny bits of actual story are interesting but the book is like 5% story/plot and 95% sex.

I'm going to start off by saying I really enjoyed Leia Thorne's writing style. I wouldn't say I loved this book, but I did like it. The storyline was amazing and the game between Sawyer and Gage was a whole mindf*ck and I loved every minute of it. I didn't like Remi that much in this book because she was so naive and gullible but she does get better.

Nonetheless, I encourage you all to read the next two books because I think they are definitely much better!!!

DNF this book around 40%

The H seemed obsessed with another character that wasn’t the h. Tbh too much sex for high schoolers and the level of their acts was over the top. Couldn’t connect to any character bc the development of the characters is lacking. I hope with book 2 she gets a good editor and develops a better story.

For me it was just a story about bored high school rich kids who don't know what to do with themselves and use group sex to deal with family problems plus some of them imagine they will rule the world like that.. lol. Anyway.. not going for book 2. It interested me in the beginning but when i reached ending I just thought I lost a few hours of my time. Disappointed.

Heavy on the steam

Wowzer! This book is not for the faint of heart that want a sweet romance or a love conquerors all story. If you're a fan of the movie cruel intentions then this is its hot and heavy sister.
Writing wise it's a good first book with a few errors that are easily overlooked and don't detract from the story much. Can't wait to see where it goes.
