While the final issue does “close” the story, it does so in a manner that leaves the audience wanting more and just not finalize the series in a manner that is all that palatable.
Cheryl and Jason realize that their brother is the antichrist given his abilities. They make a relatively unseen plot to keep Betty from interacting with him that draws him to the manor. It is there they kill him and decide to carry on with their plan to become the next eir to the underworld.
There are many plot holes and unexplained story segments. What did Betty’s parents have to do with the cult? Why were bees used? Etc Betty and Jug left in a diner to percolate on what to do next. Veronica apparently getting with Archie who was a bad guy the whole time??
This short series ends on a cliffhanger and will probably never be picked up again. We as the audience are left with no real ending. It’s hinted that the third triplet survives being stabbed and will most likely seek revenge.
All in all the series is creative and enjoyable but trips at the finish line. I wouldn’t be so bitter if the Archie horror series hadn’t been cancelled.
I really hoped this series would tie in with another but nope, not even with the TV series. I had my own theories that the twins would team up and throw away their title, or that a random fellow member of the cult would be crowned, but nope.
“The Hebrew term Abaddon, and its Greek equivalent Apollyon appear in the Bible as both a place of destruction and an angel of the abyss. In the Hebrew Bible, abaddon is used with reference to a bottomless pit.”
