As much as I enjoyed this one, and I did because I read it in one sitting, I had to suspend my disbelief to extreme heights. Never before has it been this high :P
I don't have issues with characters sometimes coming off as a bit of a superman or woman, but this was a bit too much even for me.
I actually did like the heroine but the author just made her way too OTT. She is the best baker in the world and she owns her own bakery where she employs multiple people. She also aspires to be a caterer...she has never done it before, but she has no problems pulling off a catering event for a biker club for more than 75 people..all by herself without any stress. She practices mixed martial arts and kick both men and women's asses. She can sing, she can write songs and has sold at least one to a famous person. She is a rape/abuse victim and she suffers from diabetes 1. She is a huge animal lover and owns one of the biggest dog breeds, which she also trained herself of course. She has a little mini pig that can skateboard, a huge ass cat (bigger than any normal cat) and a macaw parrot that can talk, think and interact with people!!??
The parrot was the most OTT in this book to be honest, because it acted like it was a child... made me think of pinokkio really.... look mommy I am a real boy !!! It was so ridiculous that I just could not take it seriously.
Which is a bummer, because I actually liked the set up of this story and I liked the characters. The heroine besides being an extreme superheroine did not annoy me and the hero was good (biker) guy. The side characters were also fun and I really liked Axel.
So even though I enjoyed reading this one, I can't get past the fact that it felt more like reading a fantasy to me, than a biker romance.
Still, it made me feel good. Funny that... So I will probably give the second book a go as well.

Not a fan
The storyline was ok if a bit (ok, a LOT) unbelievable. Ava is the female equivalent to that guy in the 50 Shades book who is great at everything. Apparently she is a great baker, and, even though she has never catered for a large group, she caters for the MC's poker run without issues and without any help from anyone. She's also mastered multiple fighting styles, can sing, and not only writes songs, but she's sold songs to other artists/bands and those songs have become hits. And on top of that, she collects stray animals and trains then so well that her dog is not only a great companion, but a good guard dog, her macaw bird is able to speak and interact with people, her pet pig wears shirts and can skateboard, and her cat is so big it weighs 48 pounds. Gimme a break!
Oh, top of that, I just thought the writing felt very juvenile. The sentences didn't flow well and the writing was very choppy. Hopefully this is the writer's first book. It is the first book I read by this author, but I'm sure it is my last.

3 ⭐⭐⭐ - OK decent reads.

This is hands down one of my favourite MC Series that I will always reread. It's not as intense as other series. "Gunner" focuses more on the relationship/romance and family aspect and that is what ultimately makes it my favourite. There is action from rival clubs but that just adds to the excitement.
Ava has been through a lot and it was great to see that she finally had her HEA. Gunner on the other hand... there were times where I just could not deal with him, but he did have his redeeming qualities.
I ABSOLUTELY ADORE the secondary characters. Petey, Axel and Chubs in particular hold a special place in my heart. From the mischief caused by Axel to the friendship with Chubs and to the father-daughter relationship between Ava and Petey...
The epilogue was everything I needed and more. Looking forward to seeing what the other characters get up to in the series

If I could give this book more than 5 Stars I totally would!!! The devil's angels mc is one of the best MC books I have read in a long time. Great characters and the animals were hilarious!😂 Also, an amazing epilogue. 💕 Can't wait for the next book in the series. 💙💙💙

This was a good story but it also fell into the category of unbelievable heroines. I liked Ava just fine, even found her fun to read about, but it was also a little eye-roll inducing that she was made out to be some amazing woman that is superior than all other women. She could do it all from baking the best food and treats the bikers had ever had, to training all sorts of animals, and was even a songwriter that sold songs as well as sang with a band at some point. All of it was just too much to even make sense honestly. Add to that the fact that she had a Macaw bird that frankly freaked me out and acted like a human more than a bird, and it became way too over the top.
Like I said, this was a good story and I did enjoy getting to know the characters so I'm looking forward to reading more. Axel was a great side character so I can't wait to see who he'll end up with.

This book was meh for me. There were things I liked (The crazy family of bikers, Ava's funny pets, the story was mostly safe) but there were things that annoyed the crap outa me. (Ava is some sort of superwoman, Gunner is clueless when it comes to women despite being a manwhore who loves threesomes and foursomes, the bikers seemed more like keystones cops than bad bikers). I read this on Kindle Unlimited so no loss, other than time.
I mostly liked the book near the beginning but by around 50% I was mostly skim reading. The whole kidnapping and Banditos/Senator plot was OTT and stupid.
The romance was a fail for me. There is mild OW drama that wasn't really a big deal, but the H was too thoughtless to be believable as a man crazy in love.

Close to a four star.
The heroine is a superhero.
She’s a type 1 diabetic, song-writing singer, club-slut slamming baker with mad skills at martial arts, and the patience of a saint dealing with the dumbest MC gang Prez EVER. He promises fidelity, but keeps forgetting as he lets the club girls snuggle up to him then worries the heroine has seen him. Yes. Every time, dude. Every single time. He doesn’t cheat though.
His house…
It’s a Cape Cod style, dark gray with white trim. It has four bedrooms, three bathrooms and great closets. I especially like the open floor plan between the living room, dining area and kitchen. A long slate grey granite counter top in the kitchen separates it from the dining room and living room areas. The appliances are all top of the line and are a cooks dream. And everything is surprising neat, orderly and clean.
That’s some biker dream house. So, he may be gay. Not that there’s anything wrong with that.
When she says something, she means it.
Katey makes a sudden grab for Ava and Ava catches her wrist before it gets to her.
Holding Katey’s arm in between them, Ava calmly states looking Katey in the eye,
“It’s only fair to warn you, before you do something stupid, that I don’t fight like a girl. I don’t pull hair and scratch and scream. I punch, strike and go for the most damage possible. I would end up…..
Nobody touches me. Nobody hits me anymore without feeling a shit ton of pain.”
Some of the writing is incredibly crude and harsh which I wasn’t comfortable with, but it does add punch to the character, literally and figuratively.
Odd, weird and just doesn’t make sense:
The word “ok” is used at the beginning of a sentence several times and not once is it capitalized. Huh? Here is the tip of the OK iceberg:
“ok Prez. Be there soon.
“ok, I’m going to bed.
“ok Ava.
“ok, ok. Stop!
“ok, cool.
She’s a type 1 diabetic but can go 40 hours without insulin.
She has a pig, a 190 lb “Native American” dog (don’t know what that is), and a macaw that calls her Mom and carries on conversations. He waves at the bikers with his wing.
Her pig…First thing I spot when I hit the main room is Gee riding his skateboard around the room wearing a t-shirt that reads: I only ride Hogs!
She’s 26 and owns a bakery that employs 7 people.
Is Denver the center of the MC universe? How many MC’s are there?
There is a Petey. Is he related to KA’s Big Petey?
She’s actually smart about her safety.
I decide to put them in a cart, rather than carry them, following the advice from a former self-defense instructor who said not to weigh your arms down in case you needed them for protection. I know I sound paranoid. Don’t judge me. I ignored my instincts once and paid dearly for doing that. Never again. I may not be able to save myself someday, I can’t control other people’s actions, but I can do my best not to put myself in a bad situation or be unaware of what’s going on around me. Be aware, be prepared my instructor used to say.
Final thoughts
Despite its grammar issues and bizarre characters, I loved this. The heroine was a kickass, take no prisoners sweetheart, and the H was appropriately besotted pretty quickly. Birds don’t twitter about her head or braid her hair, but it’s close. The biker gang is about as threatening as a gaggle of Golden Retrievers on a play date, and I think they may have actually converted one of the rival gang members instead of offing him. Just a fun and silly read.
No cheating, but quite a bit of violence and some crude language. I have a low threshold for violence so there you are.
Lola Wright needs a good editor because she has a fun voice and can string together a story. In her comments she writes that she started writing because of her frustration with all the idiot heroines out there. Ava is a little too eye-rollingly perfect, but not to the point of aggravation, and she definitely is not a traditional tropey h.

2 Sorry-not-for-me Stars
Don't get me wrong, this book is decent. A solid read that many will enjoy.
It's fun, sexy and easy. Who doesn't like pets, bikers, cooking and sex? This book has it in abundance. The heroine is almost a superhero amongst mere mortals and the hero is a drop-your-panties considerate biker. The rest of the cast is hilarious from a dirty-mouthed parrot, to cake-addicted bikers and asshole neighbours.
But, it just didn't worked for me.
The heroes seemed lacking depth, the insta-lust was a bit over-the-top and I couldn't make sense of their actions most of the time. The secondary characters were almost like caricatures, I missed some angst and some reasoning. Everything seemed a little too much. Too funny, too quickly, too soon.
Give it a try and who knows... maybe you will enjoy it!

This was a pleasant surprise. There were some OTT situations in this book but overall, I really enjoyed it.
I liked that the heroine was smart and didn't overreact to certain situations. She behaved the way I always want to see in a heroine. She's had a lot of bad things happen to her which is part of the OTT situations but it kept me engrossed in the book.
I liked the hero as well. Not as much as her but he's the reason she shined. He had some clueless moments that normally would have upset me in another book but because of how the heroine handled those moments, I was kind of glad to see it happen.
I would be very interested if the author chose to write more in the series with some of the side characters. Most of them played a big part in Ava and Gunner's story. Some of them will make great main characters of their own book.

This was just alright to me.
There are some really sweet and funny moments here though. Mainly with Ava's animals, Petey, and Axel... Also Ava's heartbreaking past keeps the mystery and heartbreak relevant, as well as the issues and connections with a rival MC.. These are the things that got this story to 3 ✨ So it was decent enough to keep me interested and also curious about book 2.
What was lacking here is that I just didn't believe the connection with Ava and Gunner. Ava seemed to have more emotional chemistry with the other members of the club, than she did with Gunner.
Though I love how these two handled their differences and misunderstandings, they overall just didn't feel like they were in love and each other's person for the other. They seemed like really good friends who also had sex. 🤷♀️ I don't know what it is exactly, I can't put my finger on it. But they just lacked something major in their union for me.
Still this is a decent first book to this series. I would recommend it.
I'm definitely committed to reading book 2. After that, we'll see if I stay longer.

Thank you Lola for not adding to the list of MC romances that make their female lead some meek, naive damsel with zero backbone, zero self-esteem, that is just waiting to be rescued by a jerk in leather.
Look...I will admit that Ava is a tiny bit unrealistic in that she is amazing at so many things, baking, cooking, fighting, singing, song writing, she has out of this world pets, but I'll be real. I don't go looking for books that are 100% realistic. I want my books to have a bit of the fantastic, I want a female lead that I can look up to, that makes me want to be more like her. Ava is a certified badass, and I completely respect Lola's decision to make her that way. Girl has plenty of reason for it.
Now Gunner. He's a bit more realistic. He's a bit of a dumbass at times. He doesn't pay too close attention to things that he probably should. Typical alpha that's used to bachelor life. He's dominant, protective, a little dumb, but he's loving, and kind too. I adore the way Ava puts him in his place and tries to make him see how his actions make her feel through Her actions.
Now the fun part. Ava pets. Loki, Gee, Mac, and Duffy.
Gee's name. Thank you, Lola for the giggle.
Duffy and his big lazy ass. Can relate. Still wondering if he is just abnormally large or if he's a main coon kitty.
Loki and his protective instinct. Thank you for giving me a big case of pup envy.
And Mac.
*chefs kiss* That bird knows how to provide some comedic relief. I giggled at that snarky little guy so many times throughout this story.
They may not be the most realistic set of pets but man am I jealous as hell that I don't have at least one of them.
Overall I had a lot of fun reading this. There are a few moments of seriousness towards the end but nothing gets too deep. There is always a bit of humor not too far away.

I am eternally in love with this cast of characters.
Look...I will admit that Ava is a tiny bit unrealistic in that she is amazing at so many things, baking, cooking, fighting, singing, song writing, she has out of this world pets, but I'll be real. I don't go looking for books that are 100% realistic. I want my books to have a bit of the fantastic, I want a female lead that I can look up to, that makes me want to be more like her. Ava is a certified badass, and I completely respect Lola's decision to make her that way. Girl has plenty of reason for it.
Now Gunner. He's a bit more realistic. He's a bit of a dumbass at times. He doesn't pay too close attention to things that he probably should. Typical alpha that's used to bachelor life. He's dominant, protective, a little dumb, but he's loving, and kind too. I adore the way Ava puts him in his place and tries to make him see how his actions make her feel through Her actions.
Now the fun part. Ava pets. Loki, Gee, Mac, and Duffy.
Gee's name. Thank you, Lola for the giggle.
Duffy and his big lazy ass. Can relate. Still wondering if he is just abnormally large or if he's a main coon kitty.
Loki and his protective instinct. Thank you for giving me a big case of pup envy.
And Mac.
*chefs kiss* That bird knows how to provide some comedic relief. I giggled at that snarky little guy so many times throughout this story.
They may not be the most realistic set of pets but man am I jealous as hell that I don't have at least one of them.
Overall I had a lot of fun reading this. There are a few moments of seriousness towards the end but nothing gets too deep. There is always a bit of humor not too far away.

I just can’t
The potential was there. The premise was promising. And then it all went so wrong.... Had the author done just a bit of research, this could have been a good book. But either she couldn’t be bothered or just didn’t care, and the result is a book that is both cheesy and unbelievable.
There are some spoilers here, so continue reading at your own risk.
The heroine, Ava, is one of THOSE heroines. She is a wonderful pastry chef and owns a bakery, but is also able to successfully cater a cookout for 75 bikers. Alone, as in with zero assistance. And with zero experience at catering. She was just thinking about trying it. Impossible. She is a whiz at several different kinds of martial arts, she is incredibly beautiful but doesn’t realize it, she helps out at an animal rescue, and she sings well enough to be a star but doesn’t like crowds. She has also written and sold a sing that made it on the charts. She is able to physically take down bikers and club girls singlehandedly. And then there’s all the really impossible stuff.
She talks at one point about how she has to taste everything all day as she bakes, but she is also an insulin-dependent type 1 diabetic. Seems like an unlikely career choice given that it would kill her. And then there’s the animals. Every one of them is problematic, but the bird is by far the worst. He doesn’t just talk. He carries on conversations. He asks to be introduced to people. He argues. Every time one of the bikers says a bad word, he yells “swear!” and the biker has to pay him a cashew. He puts his beak in the corner when he does something he shouldn’t. He is able to tell by looking at Ava that she has had sex and goes around yelling, “Mom got some!” His crowning achievement was being the usher at a wedding because he likes to tell people what to do.
There were other impossibilities. The way the bikers acted, the club sluts, the bad guys from three separate events being connected before they should have been, but this review would be another novel. If you can get past all the impossibilities, it’s not a bad read. I did finish it, but a lot of that was for the funny factor. I finally reached a point where I had to laugh at the absurdity of the bird.

Don't start this one unless you are willing to suspend disbelief and just roll with it. It enters the realm of ridiculous quickly and never leaves.
Ava, AKA Mary Sue, is baker, chef, animal rescuer and trainer, martial arts badass, singer and songwriter, man magnet, apparent NASCAR level driver (who never once asks about her car after the road incident), and whatever else she needs to morph into to up her awesomeness in a scene.
Gunner is actually pretty ineffective at being a badass biker. Ava is the one who gets herself out of every scrape she gets into, with the help of her dog. Gunner swoops in with the club to clean up her messes after it's all over. We learn very little about Gunner through the book so that by the end he's a almost a caricature of a good-guy-bad-boy biker.
The editing is non-existent. I keep saying this in the hopes that one day authors might get the message: do not write in first person present tense if you don't have the grammar skills to do so correctly. Verb tense errors and switches and subject-verb agreement errors abound in this book, as do a multitude of other grammar errors. There are also consistency errors, and parts of the book are flat out impossible. This is where the reader must either suspend disbelief permanently or there is no point in continuing.
Normally I would have given a book like this 1 star. However, the bones of a decent story do exist here, and the cast of characters could be interesting. There is a plot, albeit a disjointed one. My first recommendation would be to stop writing in first person present tense since the skills to do so correctly are clearly lacking. Secondly, an editor with a firm hand would go a long way in helping turn this mess of a book into a good story.

My daughter recommended this
Okay have to reevaluate my parenting techniques but my daughter loved this book. I am not a big fan of MC clubs. I hate that they sleep with all the club women and call them 'wh@res' when they are the ones that use them and perpetuate that culture. I don't like that part of it at all. The hook ups and just general sleaziness of that whole part disgusts me!
Now this story was good, I liked it, maybe not as much as my daughter but I liked it. I didn't love it. The animals were cute but the macaw part just sounded so unrealistic. Was he funny? Oh yeah but I just didn't believe that a bird would talk like that. I loved the pig who wears pajamas, and all of the animal stuff. I liked the guys for the most part too and they were sweet too. Drama with other biker gangs and club girls but all turned out good. Loved the five year epilogue the most. Will read the next book for sure. Free on KU and safe.

Ava Beaumont has a past that she keeps safely guarded and to herself. When her crazy neighbor makes waves and calls the cops on her because of her dog Loki, she ends up receiving help from Gunner, the President of the Devil's Angels MC. Gunner is a one and done type of man, he has enough responsibility with his club to form any attachment to a woman let alone get himself an Ol lady but one look at Ava he knows he wants her.
Ava isn't sure she can trust Gunner but he claims he wants to try a relationship with her. Will the biker who is set in his ways be able to be trusted? Ava quickly finds herself becoming part of the MC life but a threat is out there she thought was in her past and Gunner is determined to keep her safe. Will he be able to?
Wonderful read. This author was recently recommended to me and she did not disappoint. Loved Ava, she is a terrific heroine who has risen when she could have easily failed. Gunner is pure alpha male and the others in the club are fascinating. Loved the animals in this story, they bring a lot of humor to it. Excellent read.

This book is one of my favorite MC books! It's over the top for sure and I enjoyed reading each and every page! I loved the main characters, Ava and Gunner! Their story was quite soft compared to the majority of MC books, less violent and with low steam but it was super sweet! I can't wait to read the next book!

I absolutely adored this book! Ava is now my new favorite heroine! She is one bada$$ chick. I wanted to smack Gunner a little bit but he totally made up for it. Loved all of the sides characters, Big Petey, Trudy, Axel, Vex, & Chubbs. Amanda loves Chubbs! And those pets of hers! Mac was the life of the party! I can't get enough and hope there is more to come soon. You killed it Lola Wright!

3 Ava and Gunner Stars
This was an ok read for me. I love MC romances but I am not sure I would pursue this series. I would not re read this book. That said, there were parts I enjoyed very much. It packs in some pretty dark topics but that is well balanced with some really light hearted funny scenes. At times I felt like the humour was a little forced though.
Gunner (33) is the President of The Devil's Angels MC. Ava (28) is the neighbour of one of his Brothers , Petey , and they both help her when one of her other neighbours gets very belligerent with her.
Ava has had a hard start in life and I definitely had a lot of heart space for her. She was an abandoned crack baby who grew up in Foster Care and never belonged anywhere. She also experiences a hideous, extremely violent rape which is referred to and described in part through the book so if this is a difficult topic for you to read , be aware it is featured in her story.
Although I did like Ava, it got a bit tiresome how she was just so good at everything. EVERYTHING!!
She is a successful business woman with her own coffee shop / bakery.
She is an accomplished pet owner with a dog called Loki who is the most amazing dog ever (obvs) , a cat who is enormous , a pig called Gee who skateboards and the most gifted parrot known to man who is called Mac. Now, I am not a parrot owner so will happily be corrected by anyone who has experience of these matters but seriously?!?! This parrot has full on conversations with people and I am not talking about just repeating what he heard.
One time Mac is in trouble for squawking about Ava and Gunner's sex talk and he takes off for Loki, the dog to save him...
I see him take off running the length of the bar hollering, “Loki, save me! Save me!” He gets to the end just as Loki arrives and he jumps off and lands on his back.
Mac gives out warnings to people....
Mac is standing nearby on the counter warning Chubs, “Don’t piss off the cat!”
He greets everyone....
He plops down on the other side of Petey. Mac hops onto the bar and Chubs slides the fruit over to Mac. “Hi Petey, Gunner,” says Mac waving his wing at us. “Hey Mac,” chuckles Petey.
At first it was endearing but then it just got a bit ridiculous.
Mac walks down the bar and stops in front of Petey. “Hi Gramps!” says Mac, along with his famous wing wave. “Gramps? What the fuck Mac? I’m not your Gramps,” laughs Petey. “Are too!” insists Mac. I’ve noticed that one of Mac’s favorite past times is to argue. He loves the attention it brings him. And this is a prime example.
I was thinking the same as Gunner.
“Do you really have a mother-fucking skateboarding pig and a foul mouthed bird?” “Well, the pig prefers roller blades and the bird is more of a smart-ass then foul-mouthed,” I answer.
To continue with Ava's accomplishments, she does the catering for a huge biker cookout which takes two days of prep and she does it single handedly with no help at all and of course it is the very best food anyone has ever had. Despite being a Type 1 diabetic she survives days out in the mountains with no food, water , meds and whilst recovering from an existing gunshot wound to her arm. She's a medical miracle on top of everything else. Also, she can sing beautifully but makes side money writing songs for other artists to record. Virtually every man that meets her adores her. Oh, and also she is super accomplished in two martial arts. She takes no crap from any of the Club Girls (or anyone). One minute she's baking cookies and everyone thinks she's a sweetie and the next she starts knocking the crap out of a girl who talked smack to her.
I apologise if I sound unkind , I DID like Ava, but I just found her universal prowess at everything to be a tad overwhelming.
As a Hero , Gunner is likeable enough but sometimes he really needed to catch a clue. He and Ava had made out and a bit later he is in the clubhouse and Ava sees one of the Club Girls getting cosy with him...
The two men are looking at each other laughing about something and a semi-naked black haired woman is swinging her leg over Gunners legs and sits down straddling him. She is not wearing a top and only has on a g-string for bottoms. Gunner’s right hand comes up, just above the g-string, and rests on her lower back as she gets comfortable. He continues talking and laughing with Pooh.We were just kissing an hour ago and now he’s casually letting a semi-naked woman straddle him. I realize then that it was best I saw this so I didn’t let myself get in any deeper with him.
Gunner's response was ...
Fucking shit balls! I wasn’t paying attention and was laughing at Pooh when Katey straddled me. I’m so used to the girls rubbing up against us brothers or climbing in our laps I barely registered that she’d done that. I realized what had happened at the same moment I saw Ava in the room. I promptly picked Katey up by the waist and moved her towards Pooh but Ava never looked in my direction. Now I’m sitting here wondering if Ava saw Katey all over me or not. Do I say something to Ava? How do I even bring up that subject? What if she hadn’t seen it and I say something about it? I don’t want her getting the idea that our kiss meant nothing to me but I don’t want to start a fight if she never noticed Katey. Well shit, what’s a man to do?
And then a similar thing happens again. Gunner notices one of the other bikers glaring at him at a clubhouse party.
"He’s glaring at me and I’m a little taken aback. I need to find out why so I disengage myself from whoever is holding onto me and I realize with a start that it’s Amy and she’s snuggled up tight and I have my arm around her shoulders. What the fuck? Where did she come from? Fuck me! I was not paying attention and she must have just slid in under my arm and being an ass, and a fucking drunken ass at that, I didn’t notice. Now I understand the glare from Petey.
Oh Gunner - read the room! He really is likeable enough - and to be clear, he does not cheat, but the journey from single , hot President of an MC to a loved up guy in a couple was a tricky one for him to navigate at the start.
There are lots of secondary characters to navigate but that was ok and also I was expecting that - most MC romance series have a lot of secondary characters to introduce. There are a few editing issues. I can't get past the fact that one of the bikers is called 'Pooh'. It just doesn't give a tough image. All I can think of is Pooh Bear snd that doesn't give sexy biker vibes at all.
HEA? Yes - a really lovely epilogue which is five years on.
Cheating - No.

Oh Gunner - read the room! He really is likeable enough - and to be clear, he does not cheat, but the journey from single , hot President of an MC to a loved up guy in a couple was a tricky one for him to navigate at the start.
There are lots of secondary characters to navigate but that was ok and also I was expecting that - most MC romance series have a lot of secondary characters to introduce. There are a few editing issues. I can't get past the fact that one of the bikers is called 'Pooh'. It just doesn't give a tough image. All I can think of is Pooh Bear snd that doesn't give sexy biker vibes at all.
HEA? Yes - a really lovely epilogue which is five years on.
Cheating - No.

A pretty good book. The only thing I didn't like about it was Ava, the main female character was she was made to be too perfect after a rough up bringing. A perfect baker, owns her own shop, a great fighter, can fight in a knife fight, singer, song writer, sold songs, starting her own catering business, trained her own dog, has a skate boarding pig and a bird that carried on a conversation with you, etc. The only thing she couldn't do was shoot a gun....whew. Otherwise I liked her part. She didn't back down and didn't try to toot her own horn so to speak. (Not her fault but think the author went overboard with her is why I took a star away)
Gunner was the president of the MC and he fell head over heels for her as soon as he met her. Gunner was able to break through her protected shield around her heart for him to give him a chance. He screwed up a few times at first but he owned up to it. I still wanted to slap him. It was partly his fault for what got another MC president looking her way.
If you're looking for the ins and out of the gruesome parts of the MC would there isn't a whole lot of it. Some but not much. Sounds like there are a few more books in the series so sure a few more will come to play.

Okay, let me start with saying that I loved this book!! I was looking for something funny to read and I got my wish with this story. It was funny, crazy but also emotional at times.
‘The Devil’s Angel MC’ is the debut book of the writer Lola Wright. I discovered this book through the MC readers group where I’m in and this book was (and still is) a hot topic in the group. The readers there really loved it very much, so that got me very curious about this story. Especially, because the reviews on the different book websites were a bit of a mix between ‘love’ and ‘hate’. So I decided to see what I thought of it myself.
And after reading it, I can understand why everyone is talking about this book! I loved this story very much but I can understand that it isn’t for everyone. Because yes, this story was a bit over the top (and not really realistic at times) but I enjoyed every second of it. Ava was a sassy, fun character with a lot of love to give and Gunner was this sexy alpha man who was very protective of his woman. I loved their chemistry together and the banter between them. Gunner has never been in a relationship before so he made little mistakes but I liked the way that Ava handled this and Gunner was always very sorry and importantly, he learned from them. But what made this story especially funny, were the animals and the guys of the MC club. They had me laughing out loud many times.
The only thing that I had a little bit trouble with was that the editing wasn’t perfect, there were a few typos and there were a few times that I had to reread a sentence to understand it, but that didn’t bother me really.
The story was told from both POV’s. The sex scenes were steamy.
If you are looking for a dark story, this is not the one. Although Ava had something terrible happen to her in the past, the scene wasn’t told in specific details.
So…. if you have read and loved ‘Enough’ by Danielle Norman or the ‘Bad habit’ series by J.T. Geissinger or ‘The rock chick’ series by Kristen Ashley, then you have to give this book a try too.

This is the first book I have read by Lola Wright and I savored it. This is a story that has a few twists and turns but all in all it was enjoyable. I laughed out loud, this story has great characters in it, especially the animals. I finished it rather quickly, I could not put it down.
"You ok Mac?' I ask him
"Yeah Mom, Ho hit me!" he answers

"Eat the ho, Loki!" Mac hollers
"Eat the Ho Loki!" screeches Mac again

I’ll admit I’m picky with my MC books. But seriously...the h has an actual to and fro conversation with her bird, her pet pig wears roller blades. She’s a Jill-of-all-trades, can do anything with no training or practice and anyone who meets her is instantly smitten. Cue the eye-rolls.
If the writing had been a little more subtle I may have made this further but as it stands it’s not something I can read. YMMV.

Loved this book!
This is the first book I’ve read by this author and it WILL NOT be my last. I loved this book. I laughed so many damn times it’s unreal. The bird is so freaking funny! I want a bird like Mac! Can’t wait to read more from this author and hope I laugh as much as I did with this one!

December 19, 2019I don't mind the occasional motorcycle club read if it's done well. I'm a Lauren Gilley fan, for example. I thought I'd try Book #1 of this series - you never know where your next great read is coming from.
Sadly, this one isn't it. It was too crude for me. In the first few pages, the heroine saw (I assume) the hero getting off his motor bike and described it as something like 'motorcycle porn' and an image that she would store to remember when she wanted to 'rub one out' (or some similar phrase). Oh dear. Give me a little depth and complexity in the characters please.
So this series? Yeah, no.
Darn. I've tried samples from three new-to-me authors in the past couple of days and struck out with all three. Ah well, I'll keep trying........

I arrived here for the 4+ stars ranking. But wow!!! what a disappointment!!! The story promised through the first chapters but, after reading so many MC books, this seems kind of juvenile. I found the plot and the characters ridiculous.
Let's see: Ava has diabetes ( she is insulin-dependent) but she goes two days without meds, food or water and still fought like Uma Turman's Black Mamba.
She knows all kinds of martial arts and can put big bad bikers down...
She excels in EVERYTHING she does. She cooks and bakes like nobody else. She caters an entire meeting (75 plus people) all by herself (cooking, serving, cleaning, etc.), and she is awesome enough to do it without even sweating. It gets better: She also excels in train dogs for defense without knowing how to do it. She sings, composes, and sells her songs to famous artists. She has a Macau so brilliant that it can interact with people like a human, having actual wit conversations. She has a dog as big as a horse and a skateboarding minipig who loves to wear pajamas ...Is that all???

The president and vp of the club are nothing near badass. They are big, soft, plush teddy bears... When the Hero finds out his enemy has kidnapped Ava, he does not go on a rampage or a killing spree or something like that, no! He hugs his woman's mini pig so that the two of them can calm down.
Sorry, I think, at one point, it is funny but more like a bad comedy than like a book of the MC style. Keep that in mind if you want to read it

Sorry but I am soooooo annoyed!
How can the H be the Prez of a biker club??? He‘s a pussy! So are all of the other members 😩 And please can someone tell me how THIS BS can be possible:
1. H is talking to some guys and then a club slut straddles him (bare chested) and he puts his hand on her hip and of course the h sees that, his excuse: he is used to club sluts hanging all over him, so he didn’t really noticed her sitting in his lap... WTFFFFF??????
2. At another party h sees H talking to some guys again but this time there is a club slut pressed to his side with his arm around her shoulders! Guess what his excuse is: Yessssss... he was drunk and didn’t notice her slipping under his arm and standing there for hours... riiiiight 🙄
