I will miss the Devlin’s.

Over two books Nate Devlin is a “Man’s Man.” He grows from an Orphan into a Rancher, Husband, Father, and a man to “ride the river with”. He has loads of troubles, friends who help and stand up for him, and he fights his battles. Secondary characters are well written and get to the point they start to steal the show. Wish there were more “Devlin” stories coming.

Breathtaking.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I live in Central California, in the San Joaquin valley. The description of the high deserts, and rugged mountains was so accurate! The twists & turns of the story in this setting kept you glued way past bedtime.

Another great story!

Another great story by Carson McCloud. In this story the desert seems to come alive. I like the way the story is written using real places. Will be read more by this author.

Great Sequel

I really enjoyed this second book. I would be happy to hear there is another one in the works, although McCloud says this is the last story about the Devlins.

Great Book!

I truly enjoyed this very interesting and exciting tale. This is another fine Western story that makes me feel I was born at least a hundred years late!

Devlin had to get his family back.

Devlin was up against a very smart outlaw. His wife and and son had been kidnapped. They had to go through a lot of desert to find them.

Kept my interest

This book had all of its pages and the story was really good. It kept my interest all the way through. The story was well laid out so it left you hanging at times.

Decent

Good western story. But not all the good guys lived, not all the bad guys died. That was the way to bet, though.

Enjoyable Book

Many good things to understand about desert. Too often people don't want to know the facts about the beauty of our land and nature

Well written

Great story well written. Good character development and transition from book 1 to book 2. With Luke staying in Oregon could lead to a third book.

Ok but not great.

I didn’t like so much of the describing the landscape. Too many words about the desert and the chase scenes seemed endless.
