Purpose: The Price of Progress

Rate this book
Purpose is a thought-provoking story of two men brought together by unlikely circumstances. One believes in traditions, while the other fosters progress. One heroic act of this would be good Samaritan and Thor’s world is catapulted in a direction unforeseen.
With Mother Earth’s resources being challenged by man’s basic needs overtaken by desired wants, this imperfect balance is put to the test on Storm Island. In the shadow of a two-hundred-year-old lighthouse, this real-life paradox of sustainability versus consumption will be played out. The many fiscal, environmental, and historical costs of progress can wreak havoc on a community. But does anyone ever consider the cost on a man’s pride, on his soul?
Phil’s son Patrick brings the experiences of both men to the forefront as he retells their separate, yet colliding adventures.
Purpose exposes many issues that impact our daily lives. It brings those otherwise subliminal thoughts to the forefront of our feelings. With historical flair, this contemporary novel will have you questioning your own beliefs and values. As each new character is introduced, this journey becomes a page-turning event filled with empathy and suspense as you pull for the underdog.

The book brings me back to a place I once lived. It’s as if I I knew the people with different names. You painted a very clear and detailed picture as to how I grew up. The title of your book PURPOSE...The Price Of Progress, caught my eye and was hooked. There is certainly a price for progress, as long as you have a PURPOSE your direction of travel will be clear. Thank you
