About the author

Sakurako Kimino (公野櫻子 Kimino Sakurako) is a Japanese novelist. She is notable for the creation of Sister Princess and Strawberry Panic!, two very successful bishōjo series where almost all the characters in both series are young girls. She has had her work serialized in the Japanese bishōjo magazine Dengeki G's Magazine, published by MediaWorks. She is also the creator of the light novel series Baby Princess, currently serializing in Dengeki G's Magazine.

In this we follow quite a few couples which can get a little confusing at times. I found that I had to keep flipping to the front of the book to see the character profile section. This takes place at an all girls school, well actually three sister schools. In it they are holding a contest to see who will be the next Etoile which is basically when they choose a couple to represent all three schools. This is a girls love/ yuri light novel and it was just pretty okay. Im only giving it a low rating just because all the couples and characters got super confusing and not that much happened but since this is basically a slice of life thats fine. My favorite character was Amane I thought she was super cool and an interesting character to read from. I also wish there was more character development in this but this is just the first novel out of three so maybe they will do that in the other ones.

The plot was kind of meh and the character development was also kind of meh. Was hoping for a bit more romantic action, as opposed to the random kiss on the forehead or grope here and there.

Overall, meh.

Ligero, simple y entretenido, pero esperaba algo distinto. Dista bastante del anime y no creo que las diferencias me agraden mucho, sobre todo lo relacionado con Shizuma, que no termina de convencerme.

Si conociera esta historia hasta la actualidad, le daría menor calificación, pero, teniendo en cuenta el momento en que salió y que fue una de las primeras historias yuri que conocí, no puedo evitar sentir cariño por estos personajes, la historia y hasta el sistema étoile (por muy poco realista que sea, teniendo en cuenta que es una escuela de monjas y es muuuuuuuy gay).

This may not be a 4 stars read to other people, but it is to me. Who wouldn't like to be a girl wearing a cute uniform and having fun with the girls in an all-girls high school?

Strawberry Panic is a relaxed story that focuses on the lives of an ensamble of students attending three different all-girls prestigious and religious academies in the educational complex of Astrea Hill, where they also have the dorms, convent, park, and library. There, isolated from the outside world, the girls have the freedom to bond with other upperclassmen and underclassmen alike, creating this sort of sapphic utopia. In other words, it's a yuri slice of life.
The plot and characters have that little touch of the toxic romance we so much enjoyed twenty years ago and that, some of us, can still appreciate now. Truth be told, I actually watched the anime based on this novel around 10 years ago. It was my first yuri anime and I am very fond of the story and characters, so reading this light novel was extra special to me. It's been a long time coming... Anyway, I love the main couples and characters: Nagisa and Shizuma, Hikari and Amane, and Chikaru. Nagisa and Shizuma have a naive/experienced dynamic, whereas Hikari and Amane are more like princess/prince. And then, Chikaru is just a gay mother to all the baby gays she rescues and I adore her for it.

To sum it up, I have enjoyed getting into this wonderful little world a lot. It's a mood and a vibe. I will be reading the next books, for sure!

As a young gay I wanted this book but I was never able to get it. Well now I’m a grown up gay with money and I can buy an out-of-print book on Amazon. This book was cute; it wasn’t too deep, which is fine, I’m okay with it. I did enjoy reading it, even if I got confused over characters sometimes. Nonetheless I will finish the trilogy of light novels; I like them enough for that.

角色太多啦，光是出現在介紹頁面的就有15個，
即使角色之間的基本是稱呼名字，不太需要記姓以及暱稱，但還是需要頻繁地回頭翻閱
相比起來，法文單字算是小事了

到底百合×天主教學校×學姊學妹×爭奪榮銜的設定的原典是哪一本啊

I have heard of this long ago, so I started watching the anime only up to recently. So then, I decided to read the light novel also. And from what I have read thus far, it is completely different from the anime, but 100% better than the anime.

The beginning of the screwy Etoile competition. Craziness, love, and... EVERYTHING is in this book!! ***** Stars!
