Wow! Betsy is a small time thief who wanders into town and realises she doesn't want that life any more. Niko is a dragon living a quiet life in this town when he meets Betsy and realises she might be the one to complete him. Sparks fly, but nothing is simple. Betsy's past has caught up with her, and Nikon will have to decide what he is willing to risk.
The characters are fascinating, the hero and heroine are dynamic and round, both growing as the story progresses. The bad guys are disturbingly bad. Even the side characters are well drawn and make you want meet them. The plot is compelling, and I stayed up rather late reading because I couldn't wait to find out how everyone was doing! A very satisfying book. I look forward to reading more in this series.

This is my first PRN dragon romance and I believe I picked a very good author for my introduction. I found the town of Pine Valley and its citizens to be very intriguing, lots of interesting possible stories to be mined there. There are some magical beings I hadn't heard of before which was a pleasant surprise. The dragon lore/story is most interesting to me. I liked Betsy and her good heart wanting to go straight and willing to make good. That's the thing I like best about her, though is was clever and funny at times. Niko is a mystery to be unraveled and his family history is worth the read. I found myself captivated and engage the entire time. Rhodes story telling is top notch. I look forward to more in this universe.

First time in seeing author with the description drawing my attention. I grabbed it and opened up with it capturing me right away. Dragons and their story few and far between that I come across anymore having read alot of them. Betsy had me on the fence especially with her doings so I was a bit happy when she came to this place. Nike is the one that did the capturing with me following his every move. This story reels you in with the charisma that seers ya to them. Drama will live large with it being what pulls us to the edge also at times. When the end was reached I was satisfied but a bit disappointed so caught up I was.

This book has an interesting spin on the usual Dragon and human love story. There were many things that I thought were interesting enough to keep me reading, and to make me want to come back for more. However, I feel that if I tell you about Niko's abilities as a water dragon, then it will give everything away. Suffice it to say, I wanted to see more of Betsy and Niko in Darkwater. That scene was absolutely sexy. I also really appreciated Betsy's desire to make restitution for all of her wrongs. I can't wait for more. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this is book I downloaded from Booksprout.

I voluntarily read an arc of this book for an honest review. Wow I really enjoyed this different dragon type of genre. I loved that he starts out as a water dragon. What I didn’t like was that she’s a thief. I knew this going in and normally wouldn’t read a book due to this but it works in this book! Instant attraction, dragons and magic, mystery, and soul mates. This book has everything you could ever want in a paranormal romance.

This series opener features the first of four elemental dragons, Nikomedes, a water dragon and custom jeweler. He lives in a small town inhabited largely by paranormals and supernaturals, where humans are in the minority and in the dark about the 'others' around them. To control his demanding dragon, Niko has to let him out to swim, and the water shifters are warned when to stay away. But Betsy, a grifter, didn't get the danger alert since she's newly arrived in town and not 'other'. But she definitely recognizes a Dragon when she sees one.

Darkwater was an interesting Paranormal novel.. The story was descriptive and it will have you hooked from start to finish. The main characters were so well suited for each other. Their chemistry was intense and their steamy scenes were hott.
With intriguing characters and an engaging storyline I enjoyed this novel and would recommend it to lovers of Paranormal romance.

Darkwater by Katherine Rhodes is an amazing story to read. This amazing story is writen by an amazing author I never read till this story. She is now becoming one of my favorite authors. She made this story come alive for me, made me feel like I was living the story instead of reading it. I highly recommend this story for anyone who lovs dragons.

"Darkwater" (The Elemental Dragons Book 1) by Katherine Rhodes is a fantastic read. This is the first time I've read a dragon shifter story and I loved it. I enjoyed Niko and Betsy's story. This is a wonderful start to this series, packed with romance, passion, paranormal, shifters, fantasy, twists and turns, entertaining characters, and more. I can't wait to see what happens next in Pine Valley! Highly recommend to all fans of paranormal romance, shifters, fantasy, and series.

I absolutely couldn’t stop reading. I was hooked from the start. I love Niko & Betsy. Betsy comes too town with her bf too steal anything they can and then leave but Betsy has a dream that will change her life. Wanting to change her life Betsy meets Niko and knows that they belong together. I can’t wait too read more in this series.

I love paranormal romances. This one takes the cake by a landslide. I can honestly say that I would recommend this book to anyone who love dragon, shifter and non-magical romances. Can't wait to read the second book in the series.

I love dragons and the story of Betsy and Niko along with the others in Pine Valley. The story moved along at a very steady pace and was very enjoyable. I look forward to the next book in the series!

I really got swept away into this read. It was very captivating and engaging with its descriptions and characters. I loved Niko and Betsy. I cannot wait to get into book 2!!!!

Well, best I can do is weird-fabulous!
She was a great thief that hated what she did. He was a ..... well, interesting person-dragon who’s parents died when he was too young. They met and life got twisted and interesting and..., ya got to read it and enjoy the ride!

An intriguing paranormal dragon romance story, it is an instant attraction, mystery, and entertaining. Amazing characters. It is written well. I liked reading the book and a pleasure to review it.
