I received an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

This book is an installment from The Shaughnessy Brothers series, and can be a standalone story. Having said that, the author did incorporate many of the characters in the previous series, but you did not feel lost in the storyline.

Bobby and Teagan meet at a family barbeque and sense an attraction, however, Bobby is resistant to act on it because he is recovering from an injury from his job, and Teagan, a widow, just moved to the area with her son. Because of their connection to the Shaughnessy family, they seem to run into each other a lot and realize that they want to act on their feelings for each other. What starts as something fun, soon turns into serious feelings prompting each to confront the walls they have had up for years.

The story has a sweet ending and I love the interaction Bobby has with Teagan's son. This is a fun read when you want to escape with a "happily ever after" story.

Tangled up in You is the newest book in the Shaughnessy Brothers series from Samantha Chase and she gave her readers such a wonderful story. Teagan Shaughnessy and Bobby Hannigan meet at a family cookout as Tegan is a Shaughnessy cousin and Bobby's sister Anna is married to Quinn Shaughnessy, who is Teagan's cousin. Bobby isn't in the best frame of mind when he first meets both Teagan and her son Lucas, as he is recovering from a gunshot wound and he is an absolutely horrible patient. Teagan and her son, along with her parents have just moved back to the Carolina coast and are loving being able to reconnect with family.

Teagan is a very strong woman. She lost her fiancé before Lucas was ever born and is very gun-shy about getting into another relationship. However, she and Bobby have an insane attraction to each other and really seemed to get each other. I also really loved that Bobby and Lucas connected pretty much from the moment they met and it never felt like a force relationship. Not that both Teagan and Bobby didn't have some issues. Teagan was scared to ever give her heart away again after losing her first love, and Bobby was afraid he would never be able to go back to the police force as it kept taking longer and longer for his wound to heal. I loved seeing Teagan and Bobby grow closer and closer the more time they spent together. They both did allow their pasts to get in the way longer than I would have liked, but I loved how they worked thought their issues to become a real family.

While I loved getting Teagan and Bobby's story, I also loved getting to spend time with Anna and Quinn in Tangled up in You. Anna was such a great friend to Teagan from the moment she arrived and just what Teagan really needed. However, what made me laugh pretty much every time he was on the page was Quinn giving Bobby a hard time much as Bobby had done to him when he and Anna were first getting together. I will say, seeing Quinn and Bobby actually becoming real friends gave me all the feels, as I love a good bromance.

Tangled up in You was a wonderful addition to the Shaughnessy series of books. While it is the 7th book in the series, it can easily be read as a stand-alone story. I highly suggest this book and series to fans of contemporary romances filled with love, laughter, and a plethora of emotions.

Samantha Chase’s Tangled Up In You is an honest and heartbreaking story of one man’s struggle to accept that an injury may prevent him from returning to a job that he loves. I loved Bobby Hannigan’s relationship with Quinn Shaughnessy in the earlier books in this series, especially when Quinn started to date his sister Anna. Their give and take relationship is tested as Quinn is tasked with telling Bobby about the extent of his injuries. Ms Chase kept the characters true to themselves in this poignant, important conversation. These paragraphs are perfectly written-honest, heartbreaking and emotional. Most importantly, they set the tone for the story.
Teagan Shaughnessy and her five year old son Lucas have moved from Colorado to North Carolina for a fresh start. Her parents have relocated with them and Teagan has found her dream job as an elementary school guidance counselor. Lucas’ father died before he was born. Teagan is a strong self-sufficient single mom who earned both her undergrad and graduate degrees while caring for her son. Lucas is Teagan’s world until Bobby shows up at a family barbeque.
Samantha Chase writing style has evolved in this series-she excels in writing small town stories filled with relatable characters. In Tangled Up In You, she digs into the emotional after effects of a life threatening injury and the unexpected, tragic loss of a loved one. Being a cop defined Bobby Hannigan. Teagan’s life was turned upside down when Logan, her fiancé was killed in Afghanistan. She has concentrated on her studies and her son comes first.
I loved how Bobby and Teagan’s story unfolded during this book. Teagan tells Bobby that they can only be friends but, that quickly changes. Their chemistry sizzled and their sensuous love scenes were perfectly written for this couple. Loved how the relationship between Bobby and Lucas developed—lots of humor when Bobby teaches Lucas how to play ball.
The conflict between these two strong willed characters kept me reading—Bobby is all about being a cop and Teagan is afraid that one day he will not come home. Samantha Chase has written a book centered on family; what it means to be part of a family, how to accept unconditional love and most of all to have faith in each other. Ms. Chase’s descriptive voice kept me reading – as I wasn’t sure how the story would play out.
I enjoyed this fabulous story—it has all the feels!

TANGLED UP IN YOU by Samantha Chase is the seventh novel in the popular Shaughnessy Brothers series. It was so nice to go back and visit old friends and make some new ones along the way! This author’s strength is in her story telling. She puts together a solid story that not only tugs at your heart strings, but also leaves you at the end with a group of characters that have become part of your life. Most importantly, she leaves you wanting so much more.
There are many wonderful, complex characters to capture your heart. We met Quinn Shaughnessy and his wife Anna earlier in the series. They are here to support Anna’s brother Bobby Hannigan, a policeman who is dealing with a life-changing injury. This story also belongs to Teagan Shaughnessy, Quinn’s cousin, who has just recently moved to town to begin her teaching career. She is looking to get a fresh start with her young son after her fiancée was killed after being deployed overseas. Teagan brings her parents with her as her support system.
The love story that develops between Bobby and Teagan is very tender and heart-felt. It is at times funny and at other times heart-breaking. It is especially difficult to watch Teagan as she wants Bobby to make a full recovery, but at the same time, she is terrified of losing him if he returns to work. This is story telling at its best.
Over the years, I’ve come to expect well-written, 5-star reads from Samantha Chase, and TANGLED UP IN YOU does not disappoint. The Shaughnessy family now seems like the family next door to me, and I hope we’ll be visiting them again soon.
I voluntarily read an Advanced Reader Copy of this book and the views expressed are my honest opinions.

5 Perfect Stars!!!

I was so excited when I heard Bobby Hannigan was getting his own story. We met him in Quinn’s book and their friendship and partnership is rock solid. Until one day on the job changes everything for this man. My heart really hurt for him because I know how much he loves working in law enforcement and for that to possibly be taken from him is not something he’s ever thought about.

Enter into the story Teagan Shaughnessy who’s recently returned to her Carolina hometown with not only her parents, but her everything, her son Lucas. Teagan has had some struggles that started before Lucas is born with the death of her husband, but now she’s back “home” has found a job she loves and potentially a new love interest in Bobby…although she thinks they should be “just friends.” However, that becomes difficult when they both acknowledge the chemistry they have together.

Ms. Chase has done a phenomenal job of engaging me as a reader and really caring and feeling Bobby’s pain as he recovers from his injury and the joy he feels when he spends time with Teagan and Lucas. I love how she doesn’t sugarcoat how hard it is to be a single parent even when Teagan is surrounded by family that loves her!

These characters wiggled their way into my heart and haven’t let go. I LOVE all the Shaughnessy family but for some reason Teagan really resonated with me. Probably because I was raised by a single parent and while I didn’t appreciate it when I was Lucas’s age, I’m in awe of my mom and what she accomplished. Ms. Chase with her words reminded me of all the sacrifices a single mom makes. Add into a sexy policeman and chemistry that can’t be denied and it’s a perfect read!!

Just when you think you have read the best Samantha Chase throws us another Shaughnessy to fall in love with but this time it’s Teagan Shaughnessy and her adorable son and I fell hook line and sinker for this pair.
Teagan and her five year old son have moved to North Carolina for a new start, she has found her dream job as a elementary school guidance counselor. Teagan’s life has revolved around her son for tha last five years but now she is back in the same town as her very large family who seem intent on finding romance for her, a relationship is not on the cards for her until she meets Bobby Hannigan at a family barbecue. Bobby is struggling to come to terms with a injury that’s keeping him from returning to a job he loves but can Teagan and her son help him come to terms with the future or will he run in the opposite direction as soon as feelings come into play breaking not only his own heart in the process.......
A couple that feel they can only be friends but as this book unfolds we get to see past the brave faces this couple are hiding behind we get to know the real people and we get to fall in love with them as they fall in love with each other. Every time I pick up a book in this series I feel like I’m going home and I’m catching up with long lost family and friends. This story has it all, love, friendships, family and some seriously swoon worthy moments. Another great read from one of my go to authors.

Although this book is a part of the Shaughnessy Brothers Series, this book is about their cousin, Teagan, and their lifelong friend, Bobby. Teagan and her five-year-old son leave Colorado and move to the Carolina coast, following her parents who make their retirement home in the same small town as the massive, loveable Shaughnessy clan. Bobby had moved away to Myrtle Beach years ago, but is back in town recuperating after sustaining a gunshot injury when he interrupted a robbery gone wrong as an off-duty police officer. Despite his player reputation, the beautiful Shaughnessy cousin and her young son spark a desire and need to protect that Bobby has never experienced before.

Small-town romance always appeals to me, but when you add in a big, loveable, interfering family, it’s the perfect setup. Teagan is an admirable heroine, a single parent who has her act together and will do anything for her son. And Bobby, in spite of his reputation, is a terrific guy who's loyal to family, great with children and has a huge heart. I loved these two characters together, and their journey to forever is a delightful, heartfelt, enchanting read that you don’t want to miss.

Tangled up in You by Samantha Chase
“Never too late to find love, 4 stars”

Teagan is a boss on her own. She’s been killing it as a single mom to her son all while finishing up school. Now she’s moved across the country along with her parents to be closer to extended family. What she never saw coming was Bobby. No man has made her turn her head in the way he does. Will she be able to give both him and her son the attention they deserve?
Bobby has never settled down. Its not that he doesn’t want to its just he hasn’t found the right woman. That doesn’t mean he hasn’t been having fun in the process of finding Mrs. Right. Then he meets Teagan and her son and he knows. He will do whatever he needs to in order to make her his. Is he up for the fight?
I enjoyed Teagan and Bobby. The chemistry was undeniable. I loved how Bobby was with her son. The family dynamic was amazing all throughout the story. The only thing I wasn’t really big on was at times I found Teagan to be a little wishy-washy. But I know others will see her as just cautious. If you take a chance on Tangled up in You, I think you will enjoy it.

Bobby and Teagan...I love them! Talk about experiencing pain and hardship, but never giving up. Both of them went through what has to be two of the most painful events I can imagine, and the emotion and steps that they shared in this story were told brilliantly and beautifully.

I was excited to return to the Shaughnessy Brothers and family as that is one of my favorite literary families and with Bobby being in the mix I knew there would be fun times, snarky moments and love. Samantha Chase delivered that and more by introducing him to Teagan, showing his relationship with his parents, nieces/nephews, Quinn and more. I could not stop smiling and chuckling over all the couple interactions and “gotcha” moments between characters. These stories have such loving and funny family moments, but they also have great lessons and moments to reflect about. Bobby’s dad is a wise man and I loved when Teagan was able to change how Quinn looked at Bobby by asking a simple question.

I adore this family and am so glad we got to see how everyone was doing, as well as the Shaughnessy band!!! Great read and most certainly recommend it!

Perfect Beach Read!
Bobby Hannigan and Teagan Shaughnessy meet when both their lives are in transition but, despite having so many unknowns, their connection feels right.
Using the beautiful Carolina Coast as her backdrop, Samantha Chase beautifully crafted a light-hearted but emotional story of finding new love and yourself. The summer setting combined with a longer timeline, I’m really loving stories that give us more than a few weeks and then jump to the epilogue set in the future, makes this book feel deeper and richer while also making it a satisfying lighter read.
It was so fun to catch-up with all the Shaughnessy siblings and spouses as well as the Band on the Run couples but Tangled Up In You can very much be read as a stand-alone for those of you new to the Shaughnessy world, but trust me you’ll want to dive in after reading this one!

I received a complimentary review copy of this book but all opinions are my own.

So excited to read Bobby's story and it did not disappoint. I could not put it down. Bobby is recovering from a gunshot wound and now his career is in jeopardy as a police officer. Teagan, a single mom has just moved back to Carolina to be with her family, The Shaughnessy's. Bobby and Teagan are both strong willed independent souls but can't deny the sexual chemistry between them. Bobby has been known as being a player and Teagan has not had a relationship since her fiancee died, she has been busy raising Lucas. Can they make this relationship work and find their HEA?

Loved, loved this book. So much emotion, that will leave you smiling. Loved Bobby with Lucas, it made me fall in love with him. Teagan, she took a while to grow on, she was so afraid of loosing Bobby like her fiancee. Loved reconnecting with the Shaughnessy family, a great wrap for the series.

I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads.

I enjoyed this book. Taking two people who have had two completely different major life events happen to them and having them really get to know each other and find their way to love.

Teagan is a single mom who has moved cross country with her parents to be closer to her extended family. She wants her son, Lucas, to be around family since it doesn't look like she will marry again.

Bobby is coming off an injury that could end his career as a police officer. Unable to really take care of himself, he goes to his parents house to recuperate. Unsatisfied with the progress of his rehabilitation, he wallows in "what ifs".

Meeting Teagan is the best thing that has happened to Bobby in his life, but she's not sure she can handle being the wife of police officer. Bobby knows that Teagan must make this decision on her own, and he's willing to do what it takes to make it work.

No idea how I managed to finish this. I pretty much skimmed the last few chapters. I know this is an unpopular opinion judging by the reviews but here's why I rated it so low.

My first and biggest issue was the heroine. Teagan, in summary she was flip-floppy, mean & cowardly. I despised that she would constantly push and pull when it came to her relationship with Bobby. She was always finding reasons for it not to work. Her excuses were dismal at best. She knew before all of this occurred he was a cop, hell she met him whilst he was recovering from a GUN WOUND so I'm not sure why this was a factor in ending their relationship at the end.

I also hated the way she told him she needed time to process then moped around when he didn't call her. Uh...wot?????!!!!!! You tell him you need time to process then cry when he gives you the space you want. Indecisive much? I just felt bad for Bobby because it always seemed he was the one fighting for their relationship.

Doesn't mean I liked Bobby though. He annoyed me. He was very childish. He was so snippy and whiny this entire book. The way he would chuck random tantraums like a kid? Storming off and sulking. Yeah, so not sexy. He was only slightly better than Teagan.

The plot was so lackluster. There was no suspense, no storyline. The book is basically about Teagan and Bobby going back and forth about whether or not they should be in a relationship with sex scenes sprinkled in here and there.

I felt bad for the kid too. Lucas served no purpose to the plot other than as an excuse for Teagan not to pursue a relationship. He was only ever used I'm the story as an excuse for h and H to communicate with each other.

My final grievance with this book, the dysfunctional relationship where there was absolutely no communication between both H and h. The ending was an absolute mess. He gets a whole new job in town and she sees him in uniform clearly working, yet he still doesn't explain (he knows she saw him) and she doesn't even question him either? At the end they were on the mend then they aren't speaking, then their having sex and the whole time I'm sitting here like what the actual fuck is going on? ARE THEY TOGETHER OR NOT?!

All in all, I absolutely hated the main characters, the plot sucked, supporting characters were non factors and felt like insignificant props. There were no redeeming qualities to this book. I HATE giving shit reviews but I hate reading shit books more.

Sorry, I didn't enjoy this but....No. Just no.

Tangled Up in You is the final book in The Shaughnessy Brothers series by Samantha Chase. The hero is Anna's brother from Always my girl (book 3) and Teagan is Quinn's cousin. Two things bothered me and led me to give 3.5 stars to the book. The minor problem I had was the epilogue. Since this is the final book, I was expecting to have a big epilogue with most if not all of the couples from the series. Instead, we got one with Bobby and Teagan only. That did not affect my rating in a negative way, but if I had gotten what I wanted I would have raised my rating.

The major problem for me and the one that had an impact on my rating was Bobby's past. Half of the book is focused on his dating life before he met Teagan and it's not the first half. He kept saying that he was not the person his family thought he was and basically that they were wrongfully accusing him of sleeping around, but the one time he and Teagan went out, she met three of the women he had slept with. 3. Not one, not two, but three women and one of them had been his ex-partner on the force. I don't understand why we had to hear again and again about his dating life and see the women. Two of them propositioned him with Teagan present. His family was not wrong when they were saying that the was sleeping around. And the worst thing is that Bobby in this book seemed like a grumpy, ungrateful manwhore who couldn't do the right thing. He was not boyfriend material.

Instead of mentioning the exes, we could have seen him do family activities with Teagan and her son. Lucas was only present when he was needed as a plot device to help Teagan and Bobby be in the same room. In the second half of the book, we mostly heard about him doing a sleepover at Anna or his grandmother's house. I was expecting something better from Samantha Chase since I am a big fan of hers. This is the reason why I am rounding down my rating instead of up.

A glorious return to all things Shaughnessy! If you were as big of fan of this family as I have been throughout this series, you will be thrilled to get to touch base with all of them again when their cousin Teagan finds love with Bobby Hannigan. Love this series as a whole and this particular book was a mix of reunion and rediscovery. Enjoyed it!

Bobby Hannigan didn't expect to be heading back to his parents home in North Carolina, but when you get shot and your whole career is on the line waiting to see if you will recover, things have a way of snowballing. The only bright spot in this whole dark time is meeting Teagan.

Teagan Shaughnessy followed her parents from Colorado to NC so her son would still have the family he dearly loves near him. She's not looking to make any more big changes in her life at the moment, but she can't seem to get her heart to understand that every time it skips a beat when Bobby is near.

Loved this offshoot from the Shaughnessy Brothers Series. Bobby is Anna's brother, friend/foe to Quinn Shaughnessy, his brother-in-law.

Bobby finds himself back home after an accident at work leaves helpless and in need of his family. He isn't in the best of moods finding himself back in the mix with his sister and her husband's perfect family. But while home he meets someone who completely changes his world. Now he must make a decision on whether to start living his life to the fullest or go back to what he thinks is safe.

I loved this sweet novella bringing all our favorite characters from the series back to us and giving us 3 more to fall in love with.

Fans of the series will love this add-on and if you are new, no need to read the other books in the series as this can be read as a standalone.

•••••••••

REVIEW: 3.75 stars--TANGLED UP IN YOU is the seventh instalment in Samantha Chase’s contemporary, adult THE SHAUGHNESSY BROTHERS romance series focusing on a tight knit group of family and friends on the Carolina coast. This is thirty-six year old, police officer Bobby Hannigan, and twenty-seven year old, social worker/guidance counselor Teagan Shaughnessy’s story line. TANGLED UP IN YOU can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary.

Told from dual third person perspectives (Teagan and Bobby) TANGLED UP IN YOU follows the acrimonious relationship between thirty-six year old, police officer Bobby Hannigan, and twenty-seven year old, social worker/guidance counsellor, single mother Teagan Shaughnessy. Several weeks earlier police officer Bobby Hannigan became a statistic, while off-duty, when he was shot in hold-up gone horribly wrong. Fast forward to present, wherein Bobby, impatiently on the mend, and feeling sorry for himself, reluctantly attends a family picnic where he will come face to face with his future. Enter Teagan Shaughnessy, Quinn Shaughnessy’s cousin, and the woman with whom Bobby will fall in love. What ensues is the back and forth, petulant relationship between Bobby and Teagan, and the potential fall-out as Teagan is unable to come to terms with Bobby’s profession and his past.

Teagan Shaughnessy is a single mother who lost the love of her life years before. Meeting Bobby Hannigan stirred something long thought buried and dead, but something Teagan struggled to release and let go. As a single mother Teagan’s first priority is the raising of her son, and falling in love was never on the agenda. Bobby Hannigan struggles with the slow healing process of his injured left shoulder, an injury that could end his career as a police officer in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Battling his family, his attitude and his feelings for Teagan push Bobby’s patience on more than one occasion.

The relationship between Teagan and Bobby is one of immediate attraction but Bobby isn’t in a good place; anguishing over his uncertain future finds Bobby unsure of who he is and what he wants. Teagan endeavors to be the perfect mother but sometimes motherhood is difficult, and in this Teagan has issues of trust, when it comes to her future, and that of her son’s. The $ex scenes fade to black or are mostly implied.

There is a large ensemble cast of colorful and energetic secondary and supporting characters including Teagan’s cousin Quinn, and his wife Anna, Bobby’s sister. The fracture family dynamics between Bobby and Quinn plays heavily on Bobby and Teagan’s growing relationship.

TANGLED UP IN YOU is a story of family, friendship, uncertainty and trust. The back and forth, yin and yang, tumultuous relationship between Teagan and Bobby is oft times disheartening and fuelled my anxiety. Teagan and Bobby had to be one of the most frustrating couples with a roller coaster of emotions, give and take, want and need. Misunderstanding, miscommunication, issues of trust, and uncertainty continued to fuel a relationship that was already struggling with distance and time. The premise is engaging; the romance is full of ups and downs; the characters are energetic but their attitude and behaviour left me discouraged.

I will add that I appear to be in the minority with my take on our story line couple. In no way does the character’s actions reflect poorly upon the author’s ability to write but affects on my overall enjoyment of the story line romance.

First off, FAN-FLIPPING-TASTIC!!!!! OH! MY!! GOSH!!! Thank you, Samantha Chase, for writing this story and extending the Shaughnessy series for one more book! I FLOVED every single word!!!
I have either read and/or listened to every book in this series and was wishing for a story for Bobby Hannigan. We first really met Bobby Hannigan in Ms. Chase’s book Always My Girl, which is about Bobby’s sister Anna and Quinn Shaughnessy. There was a bit of animosity between Bobby and Quinn because of the way Quinn had been treating his sister. Yes, that has been worked out, but they (Bobby and Quinn) still give each other crap. So, when Bobby is shot in the line of duty and Bobby wakes alone in the hospital and sees Quinn, Bobby know Quinn will not sugar coat his injuries. Now, Bobby has moved home with his parents until he is healed enough to e living on his own. He has become a bit of a grumpy bear, which is understandable because he is possibly losing his career as the only kind of police officer he has ever wanted to be, in the field, not stuck at a desk job. He also wants to do EVERYthing for himself, and with his arm in a sling, that is just not happening. So, when Bobby starts fumbling his plate at the Shaughnessy barbeque, and Teagan reaches to help him, he excuses himself and walks away, back to his parent’s house. Great way to make a first impression, Mr. Grumpy Pants!
Teagan Shaughnessy is an army brat and has moved around the country with her parents until her father retired and they finally settled in Colorado, of course near a military base where she met Logan, her 5-year-old son Lucas’s, father. However, Logan died in combat before he ever had a chance to even learn that he was going to become a father. Now, Teagan and her parents have decided to move back to the Carolina coast to be closer to family. So, when she starts talking the sexy as sin man with his arm in a sling, yikes…. Then, when he starts to fumble his plate, she tries to help him and grabs his plate before he drops it Bobby mumbles “excuse me” and stomps away!!!!
I loved watching Bobby and Teagan work out their feelings and start building their relationship. I really like the way Lucas and Bobby developed their bond, and I cried like a baby when Bobby asks…. Sorry Ladies. I am not giving any spoilers away.
I really love the way that Ms. Chase caught us up with everything in the ll of the members of the Shaughnessy family. Especially, when she wrote about….. Sorry ladies, if you are a fan of Samantha Chase and ALLLLLLL of her books, including the ones her editor hated, well, I said no spoilers, and…. STOP. NO SPOILERS. But it is sooooo hard sometimes!!!!! I will say this I FREAKING LOVED CHAPTER 8!!!!!! SIGH!!!!!

Tangled Up in You is a second chance at romance even if the first time wasn't with each other and Bobby wasn't ever serious about a woman before.  This is Teagan and Bobby's story and the seventh book in The Shaughnessy Brothers series.  Teagan is a cousin to the Shaughnessys and though she hasn't spent much time with them in years it's like they've never been apart.  She's an only child who moved a lot since her dad was in the military.  She's also a single mom to her five year old son, Lucas, and isn't looking for anything except to settle in to her rental in North Carolina and starting her new job.

When she and Bobby first meet at a family picnic sparks fly and he's smitten.  He's a police officer in Myrtle Beach who's recuperating from an injury that happened when he was at the wrong place at the wrong time.  She doesn't have time for a relationship, not that it's what's being offered, but they both feel the chemistry.  Most of the time they are taking one step forward and two or more back and he especially recognizes it.  There are lots of family around and some see it and others don't.  As the two of them try to figure out if they're friends or more, or even less, I liked their interactions with each other but also with Lucas.  They both have a support network and it felt real.

As the story flows there are happy and sad moments along with lots of family and friends, laughter, tears, sadness, anger, hurt, flirting, warnings, outings, dates, hot and steamy moments along with family friendly ones, romance, loving and love.  The story flowed nicely and I loved the inclusion of so many family members, both adult and children.  We get to know Bobby and Teagan slowly since there is a depth to them.  I loved the wisdom imparted to them by their parents or Bobby's sister along with her husband who gives advice and grief to both Teagan and Bobby.  There is some closure and a happily ever after that was an aw moment for me that took place in the epilogue but it just didn't go far enough for me.  I hope we get to meet up with the Shaughnessy family over and over again.

Ms. Chase is one of my favorite authors of contemporary romances and she always makes me feel like I am there.  I've read quite a few of her books and some in this series along with several others, are on my TBR pile just itching to be read.  I look forward to reading them as well as whatever she pens next!  Give her books a try if you haven't already.

Favorite Quote: "I watched you with Lucas, I listened to the things you said, and more than anything, I thought 'this is a woman I want to get to know.'  This isn't about looking for a hookup or a way to pass the time, I genuinely like you," he explained.  "I like your honesty, and the way you don't mince words. I'm in awe of your parenting skills and the way you love your son.  But even more than that, I look at you and I just...I feel better.  You're like this incredible breath of fresh air in my life."

I have loved the Shaughnessy Brothers series, and over time have come to see them as one of my favorite fictional families. They are real, believable and their stories have only gotten more poignant, more realistic over time as well. If I had to pick a favorite novel from this series it would have to be TANGLED UP IN YOU for several reasons. Mostly though because Teagan’s and Bobby’s lives, emotions, and situations were so real that they broke my heart and eventually healed it back again along with their own. It takes a powerful story to have me crying actual tears, oh, misty eyes yes that’s common but to be reaching for the tissues to wipe my face — that is a story that got to me, and this one certainly did.

Teagan is a strong woman, she’s had to be. The man she was to marry was killed during his deployment and he never got to see their son. She’s built a life for her son, Lucas. Put herself through school and now has the job she’s wanted as a guidance counselor. The job requires a move back to where her extended family lives but with her parents also making the move it’s no hardship and certainly an adventure for them all. She never wanted to fall in love with a man who constantly puts his life on the line ever again. The heartache, the pain is simply too much to contemplate. She also never expected to find Bobby at a time when he would need her friendship the most – or for the direction their friendship would move to.

Bobby is facing a career-ending injury. Being a police officer is his life and he cannot imagine not being able to do that. With intense rehabilitation, there is the chance he can return, and he is determined to make the most of that chance. Meeting Teagan and her son, Lucas, came at just the right time. Neither expected to find love and getting beyond Tegan’s fears will take some persuasion and understanding. Yet the happiness of this woman and one sweet little boy would be enough, but if Bobby can have it all he intends to try.

TANGLED UP IN YOU is going to wreck your heart. It’s that simple. The pain both Teagan and Bobby have gone through are different yet so very real and believable. Watching them lean on each other, finding a passion between them, loving one little boy and each other was a delightful journey. It will break your heart, yes, but you’ll also find the joy and healing that loving someone can be in life. I would recommend this story to any Romance reader no matter your preferred genre. This one is real, it feels it and presents itself as something that could happen to anyone despite the career choices of our couple. Life happens and we either adapt or sink. Samantha Chase has always given me a good story – this time she presented me with a gem that I will return to again.

Tangled Up in You
Bobby and Teagan.
Overall this was a good story. But I had problems with both of these characters. And with the constant back and forth of the issues they had with each other.
Both Bobby and Teagan are basically the same character. They are both strong, independent stubborn and at times very immature. Going out of their way to do for themselves rather than ask for help. To the point of sometimes doing more harm than good.
Bobby has been a side character in most of the books in the series. Having a bigger role in his sister Anna’s book, Always my Girl. He was overly protective of her in regards to her best friend and future husband, Quinn.
In order for this to be a “Shaughnessy” book, the author brought in a Shaughnessy cousin, Teagan.
Teagan’s a single mom, having lost her fiancé while deployed overseas before their son was born. Five years later, she has moved with her parents from Colorado to be closer to her father’s family and all of her cousins on the coast of North Carolina. She grew up a military brat, always moving, never having many friends, struggling to maintain some semblance of control in her life. Now as an adult and a single parent, she strives to control everything, so her son has a nice stable life.
Bobby is police officer in South Carolina. He’s recovering from an off duty gunshot wound at his parents house. He is the stereotypical male patient, he’s grumpy, mean obstinate, and downright difficult to be around. He wants to rush the healing so he can get back to work. But his body is not cooperating. In fact, he may never completely heal from this wound, which would end his career.
These two have an instant attraction to each other. But both fight it. Bobby has his past reputation to overcome, and Teagan is reluctant to introduce him into their lives only to have him walk away, or worse, be killed on the job.
I loved watching Bobby with Teagan’s son Lucas. He was really good with all the kids in the story.
I liked spending time with Anna and Quinn and catching up with them.
I did like the story and these characters. But it felt like it could have been shortened by quite a bit, simply by reducing the constant back and forth between these two. She knew going in what Bobby did for a living. She knew he was recovering from a gunshot wound. Yet she kept throwing that back in his face. And pushing him away. Bobby on the other hand had a tendency to get angry and overwhelmed and simply walk away. This was the heart of the story. Yes, they like each other, even later, love each other, but both refuse to to give any ground to come to a compromise. Just the constant back and forth. Too much rehashing the same thing over and over and over again.
This being the last book in the series, I was a bit disappointed that the epilogue didn’t give us an up date on all the past couples. With the exception of Darcy, the five brothers are mentioned, but we’re not given much information about them. I wanted details of their growing families and where they are now.
Overall a good book, a good series.
It was a fairly clean read, very little cursing, no descriptive graphic sex scenes.
It’s told in dual points of view.
There is no cheating.
They do have a happy ending.

Samantha Chase is a phenomenal author. She truly is my favorite author of all time. When you read a Samantha Chase book you get transported in the story and it's as if you are actually in that world she created. Her books are filled with wonderful details. The characters leap off the page and into my heart every time. Samantha Chase has no problem holding her reader's attention. Her characters always have realistic and relatable struggles that every reader can identify with. Her books always leave me with a sense of belonging and wanting more. When Samantha Chase puts pen to paper her words dance off the page and into my heart. Her books leave me with a warm heartswooning feeling. Samantha Chase makes me believe in the magic of love and romance. Samantha Chase always creates enduring heroes that captivate your heart.

I must admit my favorite Samantha Chase series to this day is the Shaughnessy Brother's series. I adore the Shaughnessy family. When I read Tangled Up in You I fell in love with Bobby Hannigan. Bobby is a police officer who is wounded on the job. Bobby's struggle to recover and move forward was amazing. The Shaughnessy family treats Bobby like he is a member of their family. Teagan Shaughnessy is a widowed, single mom and has her own struggles that just pull at my heart. There were so many heartfelt moments and Quinn and Bobby had me laughing. I loved the chemistry Teagan and Bobby have. Teagan's strength is amazing. With the support of her parents she is raising her son and went to school for her Master's. Teagan's son, Lucas, is an adorable and amazing boy. I just adore the relationship Lucas and Bobby have. Tangled Up in You was more than just a romance book. Tangled Up in You was about family, falling in love again, letting go of the past and the road of recovery and healing. I felt so many emotions throughout this story. There never was a dull moment. I laughed and cried and even wanted to slap Bobby on the back of his head and yell "dude get a grip." There were so many moments that just grabbed my heart. Tangled Up in You was full of hillarious banter, undeniable chemistry and amazing characters. I loved getting to catch up on all the Shaughnessy family and where they all are in their lives. Samantha Chase captivated my heart from page one. I read this in one night. I couldn't put it down it was that amazing. Sadly this is the last of the Shaughnessy series. Tangled Up in You is the perfect ending for the series. All the characters are well developed. Tangled Up in You left me with a sense of belonging. I loved Tangled Up in You from beginning to end. I didn't want it to end and was sad when it did. Thank you Samantha Chase for an amazing and heartfelt story.

This is the first Shaughnessy Brothers novel I've read, so you'll have to bear with me on this one. I have read the Band on the Run series though, which is a spin off of this series, so I've gotten to see many of the characters sprinkled throughout. The Shaughnessy family is uber involved in each other's business, so many of them make appearances in the Band on the Run series stories. I understand why now, they are a great clan who love one another and share their lives selflessly. This story is a bit different though because it is Bobby Hannigan's story. He is the troubled bad boy about town who is related to the Shaughnessy's through marriage and being a neighbor. The story opens with Bobby calling in the one favor he ever pried from Quinn Shaughnessy and it is hilarious how he got it. What he cashes it in for isn't as funny, but starts this tale of two hearts who need to give and be given a chance for love. Teagan is new on the scene of the Shaughnessy's craziness, since she is a cousin to the clan and her Dad's military service kept them from living closer.I love the whole sense of family this series has. It's more than the Montgomery Brother series has. These guys just make you want to be part of a big family who genuinely care about everyone. Teagan finds out the hard way, there is no pity party with that many family living in a small town and soon realizes she has to own her self doubts and caged heart among them. She slowly un-cages it after much love from family, some hard talks with her mom, and blind faith that she won't have to re-cage it.Bobby is just realizing he isn't the invicible guy he thought he was and that sometimes to get the things you want, you have to work for them and you can't give up at the first obstacle. Ok, maybe he hits a few brick walls. This story really hit home for me, I think, because of my military service and having to watch my husband leave, not knowing if he was going to return. It takes a toll on your heart and I could definitely see myself caging it like Teagan. As usual, Samantha doesn't let us wallow in self pity or heartache for too long. She gives us the HEA we all expect and love. This is definitely a 5 of 5 for me and will be in the running for my Top 10 list. If you love caged hearts finding each other, this one is a must read.

If you've read any of the Shaunghnessy series so far you've probably met Bobby Hannigan. Bobby was always that side character that you wanted to know more about and now we get his story. Bobby doesn't handle the aftermath of being shot in the best of ways and gets a tad grouchy. The only person who seems to pull him out of that funk is the last person he wants to have involvement with: a Shaughnessy. Not that he has anything against the Shaughnessys, after all, his sister is one and he loved growing up with the big crazy family. The more he thinks about, going out with his brother-in-law's cousin may have it's perks.

Teagan is an amazing character - she's been through a lot and loves her son to pieces. She definitely hides behind him a bit though she is a bit to stubborn to admit that. Moving closer to the extended family she was always jealous of as a kid is a complete change of pace for her and she goes through growing pains of learning to rely on others. When Teagan and Bobby meet, she sees much more into him and gives him a bit more leeway than the rest of the family does when he's a bit snippy. She sympathizes but sure isn't going to chase him.

Seeing these two figure out each other, navigate his job, her son, and their families, was a great read. Quinn played a pretty significant part in this story which was great to see him and Bobby finally work things out (kind of). Quinn and Anna were my least favorite Shaughnessy story and I feel like they come full circle with this book and it really completed the awesomeness of this family for me.

Bobby and Teagan had their ups and downs and when one of them ran, it took some tough love for both of them to wake up and realize what was in front of them. They were each damaged and wary in their own way and for very different reasons but once they sort it out, they were a great fit. I definitely recommend this story to anyone - whether's it's your first Shaughnessy book or the last. This is a great ending for this family - and if it's your first, go back and read them all. You won't regret it.

Tangled Up in You by Samantha Chase is a hot, heartfelt, and full of good feels kind of book. The characters pulled me into their story right away. I felt their chemistry spark instantly. It was so funny. A man, Bobby, is an injured cop. He didn't want to go to the family outing but does. He has been nothing but  a crab to his family. Yet the moment he sees and meets a beautiful woman, all anger sort of goes away. Then, he almost drops his plate of food and has her helping him. That set him off again. Out of nowhere, he leaves. His father comes after him gives him a good yelling and tells him what to do. He knows his father was partially right. But he's still too ashamed and embarrassed. Then, he hears a kid crying and all his problems are forgotten. Helping the kid, Bobby finds a road to helping himself. An that beautiful woman, so happens to be the kid's mother. Plus, a cousin to the most pain in the butt Shaughnessy men.

I couldn't stop laughing. Between Bobby and the Shaughnessy cousin who's a pain in the butt, and the little moments of humor caused by the little boy, it was magical. I loved it. Bobby is like every other male. No help wanted or needed. Then, it kills him to admit it. But he soon learns to accept that he might need help sometimes. The real issue is communication.

Teagan Shaughnessy also has that very same problem. Communication. The sex is great. But when it comes to communicating her actual feelings, it's harder for her to open up. She's lost her love and he never found out about their kid. And now, being a single mom with a young boy, she has to learn how to be human again. Teagan is a tough, independent woman.

Overall, this novel was full of emotions, humor, and entertainment. This book was epic. I would recommend it to all.

I received this copy from the publisher. This is my voluntary review.

Tangled Up In You
Shaughnessy Brothers #7
Samantha Chase
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This book had all the feels. It was beautifully written, with characters I really felt and all of the Shaughnessy clan – no surprise I love them.

Bobby Hannigan has always been an honorary Shaughnessy, he fits into their lives in many ways. But after being shot, this police officer and friend is hitting rock bottom. It was sad and devastating to see his loss, it was so real that I actually cried (that wasn’t going to be the last time either). Now he’s returning to the Carolina Coast to live be with his parents while he rehabilitates.

Widowed single mum, Teagan Shaughnessy has found her perfect job, has moved across the country with 5 yr old son, Lucas to transition her life… It hasn’t been an easy ride but having her parents close by has always been a godsend. Now she’s living in Anna Shaughnessy’s old home to start her new life.

Humorously it is a dislike for Quinn Shaughnessy that has them meeting up, and it’s not a fuzzy feelings moment, with severe injures to his arm, Bobby almost drops a plate, losing his temper and walks out of the family bbq, and a confused Teagan. Only moments later, they come face to face again and the chemistry is sooo hot right there.

Add together 2 broken people for totally different reasons, and their relationship with the Shaughnessy clan, it’s only a matter of time before they give way to there attraction. It’s wasn’t easy, but so sweet, very gritty and emotional roller coaster ride, brings them together. Bobby who always was a family man,( this was obvious with his nieces and nephews) finds himself a instant one. Super strong Teagan doesn’t give In easily but seeing Lucas confide in Bobby melts her heart.
