Wow talk about pulling you right into suspense, the first page caught my attention! A cop who still had nightmares after her abduction from a notorious criminal was back on duty. Doing survellience and trying to find a leak in the force who was giving out information, she thought she might have found the link.
Rick Evans was the former agent who had saved Michelle's life, although she couldn't remember her face. He wants to take down the organization who killed his sister but looks like Michelle is in danger again.
Such a great story, although short it pulls in all the elements to keep you turning the pages until the end. Loved it!

Trust vs Treachery
Michelle has just went back to active duty as a Police Detective after being injured the year before. She had nearly died during an investigation. But she remembers the man that saved her even if they have never met.
Rick is searching for his sisters killer. He has been following every lead he can. Which put him in the position to save Michelle the year before. When he runs into her again a year later when she is following him in the dark he doesn’t immediately recognize her. He had considered searching for her during the last year but knew he was too busy looking for justice. He knew Michelle had survived and that was enough. But now that Michelle is back in his life he feels an urge to protect her again. He has other feelings that start to progress as they start to work together.
Michelle doesn’t know if she can trust Rick or if he is just like every other man that she has ever dated. They have all been cheaters. Plus she doesn’t know if he is part of the organization that is after her.
This is a sweet romance with toe curling kisses.

Michelle was dying and Rick saved her life. She had been in a car accident running from her captors. She was bleeding to death. Rick stopped and helped her until help came, then he went on his way. She dreamed about him for a year.
Michelle and her partner were on a stakeout trying to find out who was leaking info to the bad guys. Rick went to see Lauren to see about getting some info from her. Michelle trailed him to see who he was. When she saw he was her rescuer she was overjoyed until he acted like he was one of the gang who had nearly killed her. Then she was fearful of him. In the end, all turned out well and love won out.
I recommend this book to all who like a good clean mystery and romance for a night of reading.

Rick and Michelle were such a power couple, they got through so muvh together. Having Rick get shot in the end really made it so that it was more realistic. Having Tony be the leak was unexpected, but made Rick the perfect hero to save the damsel in distress. I loved how accepting Michelle was of when she found out that Rick was the Billionaire that he was talking about. And I think that is how all Billionaires should do it. Hide their idendity to make sure that their lover is there because they love them and not their money.

Plot twists and adventure
A cute little story about Rick and Michelle. It was a little insta love for me but I really liked the adventure in the story with all it’s twists and turns. I felt like it was the tip of the iceberg for these characters. It was like a teaser of a story and now I want to know more about the world they live in and their friends. I will have to check out the next one.
Rating: PG, clean story, some mild violence due to the nature of the police/bad guy theme

As usual once I started this book I had a hard time stopping to get some sleep. Finished it the next morning. Good thing it’s short. It is a good mystery. I never know where Marie is taking the story but I love the journey. How does she think up a different scenario for each book? I have no idea. Love her writing style & ability.

As always with Ms. Higgins there is plenty of suspense and romance. This was a crazy story with suspense woven throughout the whole thing. Rick and Michelle have great chemistry and a great meet cute. They work well together trying to catch the bad guys, even when they let their guard down. Now I'm eager to read Hunter's story.

An Unusual Storyline.
At first I was confused by this book. I couldn't figure it out. As I read further, it became clearer. Rick and Michelle are the lead characters and great ones at that. And then the mystery takes over and it isn't until further into the book that I begin to solve the story. You will like this book.
