I'm road-tripping across the country to sell a luxury RV, and I’ve got two copilots. One’s as straight as an arrow, but they both want me riding shotgun. Roman and Alex are as different as fire and ice, and between the two of them I’m feeling the heat.
The road is bumpy, but they’ve got me buckled in.
ALEX:
Two’s company, three’s a ménage.
When I’m asked to be Skylar’s companion and protect him, it comes naturally—even when I end up handling two stunning men. People look to me when they want to feel safe. The military taught me discipline, and these two are in need of a strong, guiding hand.
I’m looking both ways, and the road ahead is anything but straight.
ROMAN:
There’s no third wheel on this ride.
A road trip with two total strangers? Sign me up. I’m riding with a knight in shining armor and a prince I wouldn’t mind rescuing, and I’m more than happy to do a little roleplay. I know what I like on the road and between the sheets—they just need a nudge in the right direction.
After all, the best things in life are three.
Note to readers: This is an extra spicy standalone MMM romance. Readers can expect several steamy scenes that will leave you gasping.
For an MMM story, I didn't find this story overly entertaining.
I wasn't sure if this one was supposed to be erotica or a romance, largely because I didn't think that this story firmly picked a lane and stuck to it.
Also, there was SO. MUCH. DESCRIPTION here, from food to places to everything else.
Plus, the romance felt like it took a back seat to "all of that", with me only really beginning to get a mild case of "the feels" toward the very end.
Menages only really work for me when the attachment between all three of the MC's is 110% equal, but here, I got the impression that both of the "protector" MC's were significantly more invested in the "submissive" MC than one another, especially when seeing their sexual interactions never progress deeper than a kiss, a handie, or a blowie, and *always* with Skyler between them.
3 stars.

I will admit that going into this I was not totally sure it would work. Making a a serious relationship work between three guys and be believable is not something all authors can do well. Knowing that this was the author's first attempt of such meant that there was a bit of suspense as to how successful he would be. I am happy to report that Mr. Collins put in the hard work and did a wonderful job of not only developing the three main characters... but did so in a way that made each of them were made to be with the other two and the three's relationship with each other while not perfect felt very realistic. Add to that the talent the author has at writing scorching hot sex/love scenes and you've got a romance that is going to please! I really love the interplay between the three... the back and forth dialogue and humor was quite entertaining. The whole road trip aspect of the story made for so many cool scenes and each person reacted according to who they are to the various stuff encountered. Gotta say of the three, Skylar was my favorite... I think that might be because although the three were pretty much strangers at the start as they got closer it felt to me like the other two were drawn into his orbit and he was the glue that first stuck the three together. As the relationship deepened the three became interconnected in a much more equilateral dynamic which felt balanced with each of the three bringing something vital to the relationship and to each of the others. Over all I loved this book! I received and ARC copy of this book and voluntarily reviewed it!
Asked by his grandparents to drive a huge luxury RV down to Florida to sell it, Skylar gladly accepts his grandparents' offer to take their hunky (but straight) neighbor Alex and Alex' brand new roommate Roman with him on that trip.
The more the merrier.
Three hot guys squeezing into a RV can only lead to sex, as we all know.
Their story is actually very cute and I loved how they embraced their romance and love and were ready to build and adapt their lives around it.
I also loved the fact that three guys came together without two being involved before. That's my personal requirement for a good MMM romance.
The only downsides I could see were Alex' being straight but not at all confused about suddenly getting it on with two men, and the fact that their sex ONLY consisted of Skylar bottoming for his men. And literally nothing else...
Southern born author Jason Collins now lives in New York and as he states ’I've started calling myself a ‘southern New Yorker.’ Jason has twenty-nine successful novels to his credit so far, covering all aspects of gay relationships. His most recent series dealt with the darker side of romance, so this new THREE is a major change in both subject matter and as a new aspect of Jason’s fine talent – writing a sophisticated threesome!
This being the first ‘triad romance’ Jason has written it is refreshing to see how he opens this story with a thought from one of the men, Skylar: ‘Coasting calmly through traffic, I daydreamed yet again about the luxury RV I’d soon be driving. Tomorrow, I was going to embark on a road trip to the southern tip of the country to sell the custom vehicle for my grandparents, and I was excited about the idea of riding in the lap of luxury. I was even more excited about the idea of riding something else. But I wasn’t going to get my hopes up because the way my love life was going lately, the chances of anything hot and sexy happening on this trip – or even in the near future – were slim to none. At least, that’s what I thought until I saw the yellow sports car in the parking lot up ahead. I was heading to dinner with my grandparents and the two men who’d be my co-pilots for the trip. The men were complete strangers to me, but also strangers to each other, from what I understood….’ It would be difficult to make the inception of a threesome more enticing than that!
Since there are three men characters – Skylar, Alex and Roman - Jason introduces each with a bit about their status: Skylar - I'm road tripping across the country to sell a luxury RV, and I’ve got two copilots. One’s as straight as an arrow, but they both want me riding shotgun. Roman and Alex are as different as fire and ice, and between the two of them I’m feeling the heat. They’re looking at me like a snack for the road, and they’re eager to share. Alex - People look to me when they want to feel safe. When I’m asked to be Skylar’s companion and protect him, it comes naturally—even when I end up handling two stunning men. The military taught me discipline, and these two are in need of a strong, guiding hand. But I like a challenge, and sharing close quarters with these men will keep me plenty busy. The road ahead isn’t looking so straight. Roman - A road trip with two total strangers? Hell yes. I’m riding with a knight in shining armor and a prince I wouldn’t mind rescuing, and I’m more than happy to be their king. I know what I like on the road and between the sheets, and these two just need a nudge in the right direction. The engine’s revving, and we just got the green light.
This adventure is a winner – plenty of real life reflections and a very hefty dose of ménage a trois erotica, making this one of Jason’s finest novels to date. Recommended.
DNF at 40%. There is really no good reason to read this one besides the sex scenes (and even they grow repetitive since the triad's preferences in the bedroom are quite static). There's no real conflict. The MCs are dull and cardboard thin. They constantly claim they are different from each other but they talk and act the same (much younger than their actual age, almost childlike). Some of them supposedly had "troubled history", but it has zero effect on their behavior. They constantly agree with each other on everything, which is annoying. The description of the road trip is quite monotone and inlaid with tones of kitsch and saccharine, like the entire book, actually. Mind numbing.
This was a wonderful story. Not only do we meet Alex, Roman and Skylar, we get to take the road trip with them. I loved the descriptions of every where they went and the people they met. The way they fit with each other was so cool. They had great chemistry from the beginning. I loved Sky's grandparents. I know they had ulterior motives for asking Alex and Roman to take the trip with him. Besides who doesn't love a HEA. I requested an advanced reader copy and am under no obligation to leave this review.
Hot, Hot Hot! Skylar's grandparents ask him to take their RV to it's new owner. They hire Alex & Roman to share the trip with him for company & security on the long ride. Lots of stops visiting different states & plenty of action between the sheets. Great chemistry between the 3 main characters. I have to say Jason Collins has come a long way in his writing & it just keeps getting better. A wonderful first try at writing a M/M/M book. I received and ARC copy of this book and voluntarily reviewed it
I don't usually read MMM books so I was a little hesitant about this book but I was very pleasantly surprised, I loved it!! It truly pulled me in right from the start and I could not put it down. My biggest problem with MMM is that I usually feel like one of them is left out and isn't as much a part of the relationship, but in this one, Alex, Roman, and Skylar really fit together perfectly and I can't imagine their relationship any other way. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
This was a new to me author and I really enjoyed it. It was an easy read and the dynamics and chemistry between the 3 guys felt genuine. Some sweet moments to break up the heat were nice.
James Collins first mmm book, a successfull attempt! There are so many things to say about this book, I hardly know where to start... I'll start with one of my favourite things in Jason Collins' books: the description of the place, the landscapes, the surrounding habitat. Jason has a way of describing it that makes you feel like you're right there with the characters, seeing exactly what they see and falling in love with the place at the same time. This happened most recently with South Carolina in the Worth the weight series and with Alaska in the Submission series. In this book, which involves a road trip on a luxury RV from Bangor, Maine to Key West, Florida, the feeling of enjoing all the surrounding scenery is enhanced tenfolds. The story: as I said, this is Collins' first triad. The relationship evolves almost instantly when the three characters meet and are forced in closed proximity (as they have to drive the RV from Maine to Florida to sell it) and it also happens rather seamlessly. There seems to be no doubt, no hiccup, no second thoght... It's pleasant, if not a bit unrealistic (consideing one of the MCs's supposedly straight before starting the journey). There's also something in the phisical part of their relationship that sort of bugged me: all their sexual encounters seem to have the common feature of Skylar being in the middle of Alex and Roman, I mean, they kiss, caress, are affectionate with one another, but they don't seem to interact sexually if not with Skylar as a sort of "bridge" (but that could just be me being greedy). All in all it's a really good story, and I'm rating it 4.5 stars rounded to 5 for the valuable first attempt at writing a trouple.
Super M/M/M romance. I enjoyed seeing the personalities of these three guys and how well they fit together. Alex, Roman and Skylar each have strengths that they bring to the relationship. While Roman and Alex are more dominant, Skylar is by no means lesser. I loved the camaraderie between them and they had me laughing out loud several times. Roman especially loves to throw out innuendos. That boy is trouble. Skylar's zest for trying new things during their road trip made me smile. Roman is surprising in how much he’s experienced in his life. Alex too has a few revelations. The love and support they show one another wove the story together. The ending left me smiling.
Three by Jason Collins is a fun read about three men who find love and connection while on a roadtrip to drop off an RV to it's new owner. Strangers become much more for Skylar, Alex and Roman as they make their way through interesting cities and towns, taste the local flavors and build on the attraction the three share. The story is sweet, sexy, and fun.
I received an advanced reader's copy of the book and I am voluntarily leaving my honest review and recommendation
i read this book as part of an arc program. This is the story of three men who meet and then take a road trip to deliver an RV to it's new buyer. Skylar's grandparents are selling their RV and ask their neighbor and his new roommate to go with Skylar to deliver it in southern Florida from their home in Maine. Skylar meets Alex and Roman the night before they were set to leave and he was surprised to see how attractive they were. Alex invited his new roommate Roman to go with them because Roman was thinking of moving to Nashville to pursue his music. Alex was an EMT and Sklar was a bartender. The three got to know each other a little better over the first couple of days and when they learned Skylar had never been out of Maine, they decided to take their time and do a little sightseeing along the way. They was an attraction between all three men and each wondered if the others felt the same. I really enjoyed this story. I thought all three men had an amazing connection to the others and i think their road trip gave them time to grow even closer. I think they all complimented each other well and really cared about each other. This book made me want to take the same trip and see some of the sites they enjoyed. Well written and another great one from Jason.
This book is a weird mixture of erotica and travel novel with a heavy case of insta-lust/attraction.
I found the writing style of the book a bit strange, because it was written from a first person perspective, but it still managed to keep the guys very flat and under-developed. Most of the abundant descriptions are about the places, cities, food, activities that happen on the road, not about the other guys, their romance or their feelings, which is probably why anything romanc-y that does happen feels cheesy and stereotypical.
Sadly the descriptiveness does not extend to the sex scenes, which are frequent, but feel very unimaginative and samey and always revolve around Skylar servicing the other two guys. There's also not a lot of mind payed to the logistics of it all. (I'm not saying you absolutely can't touch the dick of a guy kneeling in front of you giving you a blowjob, but it does sound like a feat that requires more detailed description to be believable.)
All in all the book was kinda entertaining in it's cheesy awkwardness, but nothing I really need to repeat.
Three By Jason Collins Main Characters: Roman, Alex, and Skylar I voluntarily and honestly reviewed this book without bias or persuasion from the author. 5 out of 5 stars This is a contemporary mmm romance about three men in an RV road trip from Maine to Florida. Roman and Alex are the more dominant men with Skylar being more on the submissive side. I loved the way they interacted amongst themselves and what great chemistry they had all together. I, of course, lean more towards Alex and Roman. Skylar might be more the submissive of the group but he was no wimp. Jason does a wonderful job of describing the scenery of each of their stops and he rounds out each of the characters. Loved this book, Jason!!
I wish more authors wrote like this ... I absolutely recommend this book! It's a good romance story with some well written erotic scenes throughout. My only criticism of the book is that I think it could have been much longer, though I will definitely be reading 'Three', again, as I particularly enjoyed taking the road trip with the guys, and I commend the author for the originality of the storyline in that regard.
I tried to like this one. I did. This is the 5th of Jason Collins books I’ve read, and some of the sex scenes are kinda repetitive. The story line wasn’t that great. Early on in the book I thought to myself ‘I bet the RV gets stolen’, and later on guess what happened? I was like ‘called it!’

Road trip! Road trip! Road trip! Skylar is a bartender. Alex is an EMT whose friend may have a job for him in Nashville. Roman involved with music industry thinking of moving to pursue his craft. Roman is Skylar's new room mate. Skylar's grandparents are selling their RV to a buyer in FL. The grandparents invite Alex to accompany Skylar who thinks they are matchmaking. Skylar meets Alex and Roman with the grandparents and get acquainted during trivia night. Skylar had never been out of ME, so they decides to take their time and sightsee a little. Each man was confusingly secretly crushing on the other two. During the trip their superficial attraction went to the next step. Their They each complimented each other making for an absolutely equal compaitble thruple. Who made the first move? Are there any jealousies? Any hesitation in a threesome? Will they keep the partnership equal? Excellent story of open, inclusive, loving satisfying relationship. Nice character development. Well done!
This is the first time Jason Collins has written a triad story and I must say he does it very well. He has taken three characters with distinctly different personalities and experiences, woven them together with a road trip to bind them. The road trip to sell Skylar’s grandparents RV is not only the catalyst but the way that they are brought together and then stuck together. There is plenty of steam as Skyler with his wide eye, never left Maine wonderment, Roman and his rebel musical wanderlust and Alex who is not as straight as first thought, find way to intertwine themselves. I really enjoyed this journey, it was a fun read.
This was a well written and entertaining gay romance novel with good character development. I also liked the great description of the scenery they saw on their big road trip; it added to the story without overpowering it in my opinion. I usually appreciate a low angst story, and this was a good one. The relationship between these three guys was honest and easy with a fun sex dynamic, and they pretty much communicated well throughout the whole thing. The crisis in the story was brought on by something happening to them rather than between them, which is always a refreshing thing in a romance novel of any sort. Anyway, I really enjoyed this novel and am glad that I read it.
This is a really moving story about three young men who get thrown into a situation where they all need to work for a common goal, even though they really don't know each other. They achieve their goal while also finding more about each other and being able to discover they love one another and will do whatever it takes to keep the three going and growing together as a family. An amazing love story on all levels.
Solid MMM story. Fast. The insta-lust gave way to love very fast, too fast maybe, though I get it. And I still enjoyed it. They are good together and even though you get all three POV, which I love, I also thought they were too much in their heads. I would've loved more dialogue... It was a fun ride nevertheless.
I enjoyed the book. I enjoyed the relationship and their love story. The only thing that could have made it better would be if there would have been more than 1 bottom, or if they were all switch. It would have given more variety in the sex scenes, rather than only 1 bottom and the same one receiving a bj, while the other toppled.
This book was a very pleasant surprise for me. There was no drama, no fighting, just three guys getting to know each other while on a road trip. I loved it!! It was a wonderful piece of life with steamy love scenes that were not just thrown in but flowed naturally with the story. I think I found a new favorite author!
It held my interest. The only thing I didn't care for was that it didn't seem that Roman and Alex did more than just kiss the entire time. They also gave each other hand jobs. I don't like the whole dom/sub routine with no one breaking out of their prescribed role. But overall, it was a good story and I did like the characters.
Three by Jason Collins. I believe this is my favorite book by Jason so far. I loved it. Absolutely fantastic characters! Absolutely loved the storyline! Didn’t find myself skimming over anything. I read every word and enjoyed it all! Definitely a must read story!
Obviously I’m in the minority but this just didn’t do it for me. For as much as the author put into describing the scenery their emotions and intimacy almost felt glossed over. I love MMM and it was sweet with no angst.
Very interesting road trip from Maine to Florida with steamy sex scenes along the way, but I thought that with 3 hot guys involved there could have been more variety in their sexual encounters. The sex was very hot though.
