Justin and his brother have survived one wild night on the Strip, but after outliving murderous thieves, baying mobs, and explosive catastrophes, they’re no closer to leaving Las Vegas.
Having escaped calamity by the skin of his teeth, Justin knows he has to find medical help as soon as possible, but doing so means abandoning his brother, and facing the nightmare of the city once again.
As the sun rises on a forever changed world, Justin sets out alone with a very specific mission. Will he survive a return to the melee, and will he be able to make it back in time?
This is the second book in the Lights Out in Vegas series.
Civilization has collapsed and within a day or two civility has gone the way of the dinosaurs 🦖. The characters are well developed and the situation is clearly that of survival. The antagonists are plenty and the protagonists few. An action packed plausible story of what humanity can turn into when all the rules are gone and anarchy takes hold. An exciting read of where anything can happen, and often does. So, hold tight to your reader as you won’t be able to pull yourself away from the story. A first class read !!!
The story really improved from the first book, though the technicalities of dialogue still need work. I liked the underground city and Hopkins (wish he had stayed longer). The Troika was a bit odd, but there is quite a cliffhanger at the end. If this was any place other than Vegas, I might think that it all went to hell way too fast, but normal Vegas doesn't seem so different from apocalyptic Vegas.
The storyline is strong. The characters realistic. The cliffhanger is huge. I enjoyed this story and will get the next one but each book so far is short. Reminds me of that RV show 24.
