I get asked questions about cannabis weekly by my patients and want to be informed so that I can effectively help them. This was my first book on the subject, so a lot of this information was new to me. This was concise and helpful with many interesting facts but I suspect people that are already well-read on the subject will not uncover any new material.
Whilst this book is of a simplicity, it is deserving five stars at its complete.
For one thing, the images in the book portray well, the relaxing and laidback lifestyle of many cannabis users. It will help lessen any fear had. (They are exquisitely beautiful, but that is only a bonus. The true value comes in showing what cannabis is about).
But the main take away from this book is the giving of useful knowledge, insight, and as well as research to combat the pernicious lies our American government has propagated in regards to “Marijuana”. This book gave me idea to now refer to it as Cannabis, for the sake of not trying promote idea that cannabis is an illicit substance.
I was infuriated to learn that our government criminalizes a substance that has shown promising potential to aid cancer, help heal PTSD (which I myself am suffering from), is better than all modern medications at the treating of epilepsy, and the many more things that are aided by cannabis unrealized by this propagation. I always have known our society is of evil, but this only to me, confirmed of it even more… For the sake of control, money… To promote bigotry and crude racism. Make others in fear. To the point they miss out on potentially lifesaving treatment. It all is so vile. And the case of the insomniac woman who had been told insomnia is “apart of life” made me even more angry… That sinister professionals enable the ills of society, when 60% of adults have of it… And it is because there is too much dammed stress within our world. I already hate the idea of me entering adulthood, for sake of how this world treats adults… And I am an autistic victim of child abuse, who already is lesser ready to face the demands of my incoming adulthood.
It is a shame what American society has lost due to the ignorance and thus resulting fear.. But if all was known, there would be no purpose of life, life lesser would have of meaning. And for this, I understand there need be things for the human race to overcome.. So that we may surmount our human shortcomings and arise.
I once had a poor weed experience a few years ago as a teen, after I had been hospitalized for a PTSD episode and suicidal attempt. But the way I was given it was not good. By an adult woman, and I had right when had gotten high, saw orange and blue halo—what she referred to as “tracks”. Because she freaked out I had seen those right upon my getting high, I had thought I was having an abnormality in my reaction. I wish I more so would have educated myself about weed, prior to that having taken. But it is now done and over with, and this book has restored my of sense hope for a soon again trying with weed. Though as this books cautions, I probably should await few years until having fully grown, a brain.
My sister who is at Chron’s disease risk just got her own medical card. My mother interestingly enough also taking a pique interest in weed around time I got this book in a used bookstore… I got it last minute, it was featured right in front. And our dog Elliot, who had been put down for repeated Grand Mal seziure, easily could have been taken to holistic vet and been given a chance at living had we known more about weed.
But I have no negative words for this work. Of course it could have been written a bit better (in terms of eloquence), but this book is not intended to be a literary classic. Therefore, this is not mattering in this book, and it is well-illustrated—both women articulate and giving their personal expertise.
Thank you for this wonderful book. Recommend without hesitation.
Artfully designed book, from paper quality, to photo arrangement, to overall colour scheme. I did not learn about making cannabis oil at home but that’s probably because it’s outside the scope of the book. Some reviews opine that the information contained within the book is run-of-the-mill, but I have found that information found on the internet on the subject could be scattered and less than reliable. I’m glad to be able to read a book that is pleasing on the eyes and overseen by a medical professional (Dr Chin) who’s informed on the matter.
Formatted very well with beautiful photography, to the point and informative. I believe the target audience is people who are completey new to weed and perhaps hesitant about it, but I still found it useful, especially from a scientific perspective.
Excellent introduction to cannabis. All is covered in a succinct, clear manner. Great book for those who wants a realistic approach to medical cannabis that debunks the negative myths about the plant. Written by two women who had serious medical issues, including a physician. Highly recommended for those who still have concerns about the subject.
