Judith Berens is a figment of your imagination, made up of the fevered brainpower of Michael Anderle and Martha Carr, fueled by a lot of people helping them out - as well as all of you, The Fans. Great stories mixed with a lot of great readers equals more adventures to follow.
As Allison grows into herself and develops her friendships and business it’s great to read how her moral compass keeps her on track especially when taking jobs from less than squeaky clean clients.
I really enjoy these books and how the characters’ depths keep growing.
It's December, and things have been pretty calm for Alison and her team.
Hana's new pet, Omni, is changing species almost as quickly as she can blink, and Marcus is looking forward to visiting James and Shay, with Alison, for the Christmas holidays.
But, just like everything in Alison's life, things don't stay calm for long!
First, she's asked by an Eastern Union Leader, to rescue his kidnapped wife, from one of his enemies which, with Alison's hatred of women being used as pawns, is sure to get her attention.
Then, an old girlfriend of Mason, a Potions expert, Raven, calls on them to help her dispose of something so dangerous, that it could affect all of Seattle.
Then, just when Alison thinks that she's free to start thinking about shopping for Christmas presents, at last, she's contacted by the very last person she had thought would want to be near her again: Rasila, known on Earth as Ruby Sumner, and one of the Drow Princesses that Alison had fought, and defeated, previously.
Alison has barely had time to start soaking in the information Rasila had given to her, when the Chief Officer of the local Seattle PDA, Agent Lathery, contacts her, and asks for her help in something, that only she could help with.
Considering that Alison had expected a rather boring run up to Christmas, what happened to her, and her team, fit right into their usual goings on!
As usual, this book fits in beautifully with all the previous ones in this series.
There were plenty of fights, and explosions, but also some great results, as far as character development is concerned.
It's actually been wonderful to follow Alison's journey from young teen, to mature adult, but with plenty of room for even more development of her character and, more importantly, her powers!
This was a great start to this next Arc of Alison's story, and I'm looking forward to going on to Book Ten: 'A Brownstone Solution', to see what else life, and everything else, can throw at her!
So, once I've finished this review, I'll be starting this next book of a great series and, once I finish this next story, I'll catch you on the flip side, to let you know what I think about it!
Additional editing of this book is needed. Too many mistakes were left. The big event of this book was a bit lacking. All the work leading up to meeting the project and it was kind of a blah moment. The story was pretty typical. I just thought that it was missing the wow that I found in prior books. I think everyone deserves an omni in their life as long as it says the same food all of the time. Only the rich can afford otherwise and not many are rich! I agree that it's ridiculous that Allison has not met his parents yet. I also think it's strange that he has not wanted her to. He may be an adult but if he's really serious about her one would expect him to want to show her off to his parents. Still lots of questions and no answers. Actually, I think there are now more questions.
Another excellent book in the series. Fun, humorous, plenty of action. I just hope that the authors find someway to give Allison the ability to shape shift that would open up the storylines to a greater degree I believe. This book and the series are worth reading.
Alison continues to have interesting and exciting adventures. I love this series about a group of magical friends that have formed a security firm. They take on anyone who would cause harm to others. Of course, getting paid to do it makes it that much sweeter!
Alison, Mason, Hana and Tahir were at it again, and now Drysi and joined the team. If it's not one person trying to kill her it's another, or her trying to save someone. There's never a dull moment at Brownstone Security. (Oh, and I can't wait to find out what Hana's shape-shifting pet is.)
No romance, unless you call Mason kissing Alison's forehead romance. And the F-bomb was used 15 times.
As for the narration: I NEVER get tired of listening to Kate Rudd. She's awesome.
Omni is giving me YTT vibes. This book was great but the thing is, it was action-packed from the start, the pacing could be choppy because it's less than 200 pages and they get into several jobs and fights, that's a lot for a book with less than 300 pages. Also, Mason, you're so boring, like seriously, you have no personality.
I can’t believe that this series is still action packed, and has an original storyline. This was the ninth book in this series, and this is the second series I have read so far with Alison Brownstone as the driving character. They’re still original in their storyline I can’t wait for the next adventure.
I really love all the inside jokes that the author puts in here referring to other books in the other Oriceran series. I've read them all of course enjoy them just as much as I enjoy Allison and her gang of Goofy do-gooders!
Another fun story with several exciting episodes. One of those includes a lab created super soldier on the loose. Looking forward to the next adventure.
Alison does it again and saved the day. There are always so many people who figure they know how to solve the problem with the enemy as they are it but the solution normally created more problems.
All along this series, the enemies of Brownstone family keep on popping out there head from the ground, and all Brownstones always ready to whack their heads. And yet, another head pops out. When will they learn?
Alison and her team are being kept busy cleaning up other people’s messes, and she’s about fed up! A lot happens, and we see personal growth with the characters, and more hilarity amongst the arse-kicking.
And the best thing? There’s more Alison Brownstone coming!!!!
Alison and her team get into it again, what’s new!! She meets Mason’s ex and does a job for her and then they are hired to stop an escapee. Read to see what happens!
I wonder if Alison had time to even take a breath (figuratively speaking) during this book. She jumped from one case to another, one especially heartbreaking at the end. Check it out!
Must find more! Definitely hooked up to the good stuff. Love how the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. Was hopeful Alison would expand her team more but there's more books where that came from! Can't wait to read more.
Another problem solved, New concepts covered. Such as, really.. A four star general arrested? Not in this world. The main difference between fiction and nonfiction is that fiction has to be believable.
Helping your boyfriend's ex , and the government are just a couple of the things pur favorite Drow is up to. Allison handles it all like the hero she is, with help from her friends of course!
This is a thrilling new Alison Brownstone adventure! You have action, magic, friendship and romance what more could you ask for with fantastic writing.
Very disappointed in this entry. A whole lot of nothing happening without one instance of the humor that filled the previous books. The alleged "big bad" shows up for 2 anticlimactic chapters
Alison is hoping for a break in the action. However, the fates are not aligned with her wishes. Trouble with the underground and Drow Princesses surface unexpectedly. She does not want to be a Queen in any situation. Her assignment in recovering an experimental magical, uncovers Government chicanery. I like the action, humor, and romance. I look forward to the next book.
