Cute stories about Greg's friend and for Greg himself. I loved the neighbour's trampoline story. The book has also very funny pictures (Greg's little brother's bum LOL)

(To note: Some or all of this book is duplicated in Jeff Kinney’s “Diary of an Awesome Friendly Kid: Rowley Jefferson's Journal” book so you may want to check out that book instead of this one (as it is longer). This is in spite of the “A brand new Diary of a Wimpy Kid Story” quote on the cover of this one, although I believe this was published first which means at the time it would have been brand new. As for my review I’ve only read this book, “Diary of Greg Heffley's Best Friend (World Book Day 2019)”, so I don’t take this into account.)
“The first thing you need to know about me is that I am Greg Heffley’s best friend.” This book is Rowley Jefferson’s retelling of Greg’s life. The reason he’s writing about Greg is because Greg told him that he is going to be rich and famous in the future and everyone will want to know about him, so Jefferson is writing his own Greg Heffley biography to meet this need. It is similar in style to the Wimpy Kid books, but being by a different hand, Rowley instead of Greg, the art style is slightly different, e.g. no noses on the characters. The pictures are still nice, simple and funny line drawings though.
And the writing style is similar too, with little separate set pieces put together to form the whole. This means the narrative has breaks in it, but this is fine I think, as it is for the laughs, not the narrative, that people read these.
There is also cross-over with the Wimpy Kid books with, for example, three Zoo-Wee Mama comic strips appearing here, plus Rowley making quick mention of the cheese slice on the basketball court.
I read this book with a smile on my face throughout and laughed at a couple of the funniest moments. 4/5.

What another fantastic book by one of my favourite authors. Jeff Kinney has done great job on this book for 22nd World Book Day! Get if you really like the Diary of a Wimpy Kid. And get it even if you don't you will not be disappointed.

Diary of Greg Heffley's Best Friend: World Book Day 2019 is a great set in the Diary Of A Wimpy Kid is a classic collection.
My kids absolutely loved this series. It is fun and will have you laughing out loud.
There are many books in this series some better than others, but they all have one thing in common, humour and the ability to make fun of oneself.
The pictures and jokes just make it all that much better.
Read along you won’t be disappointed.

I found this book to be an amusing read which children of all ages would enjoy and find gripping due to the several different events that take place. As it is only a short read, this book would be accessible for differing academic levels, encouraging all children/pupils etc. to read this diary entry styled book. It is written from the perspective of Rowley Jefferson, Greg Heffley's best friend who usually has his life events starred, allowing readers to experience this interesting change and understand how Rowley feels about different events that take place. I feel reading through Rowley's eyes has portrayed him as more of a 'wimpy kid' in comparison to Greg who has been branded with that name through the mean behaviour Rowley tolerates from Greg much throughout the book. The various and funny events that take place will encourage children to continue reading this book as it will keep them entertained and will encourage them to want to find out what else Rowley has written about. This may therefore encourage children to continue reading Jeff Kinney's entertaining and gripping books. In the beginning of the book, Rowley briefly mentions the differences between autobiographies and biographies which may encourage children to research upon these different terms and thus widen their vocabulary and reading genres.

I decided to read a book called Diary of Greg Heffley’s Best Friend, written by Jeff Kinney. Jeff Kinney has written all of the diaries of a wimpy kid, which I love, I love the series. This book is fiction, young adult. I decided to read this book because I figured it would be as interesting as ‘Diary of a Wimpy Kid’ which it was.
This story is told in Rowley’s point of view, so the setting takes place in many different places, a few of the chapters are in Greg’s house and a few are in Rowley’s house but there are also some other locations. Basically, Rowley’s is telling stories found throughout the series ‘Diary of a Wimpy Kid’ but he tells them in his view, it’s interesting how he thinks about the same event.
I enjoyed reading this book, because all the stories are writing in a different way, in Rowley’s opinion. I saw two different opinions about the same event which I enjoyed, I made connections which I enjoyed making. My favorite part was when a prank was playing because it made me laugh. I think 12-14. 7/10

I used to read Greg's books when I was at high school and I just loved it, I had thought Greg was an intelligent, charismatic and funny kid, but with this book I have thought that Greg is a stupid and bully kid. All story Greg is treating his "friend" like he was a piece of shit. I felt pity on his friend who told us the storie in a innocent way.
I give it 3 stars because this books reminds me old times, and because you can read it in just one day.

This book was very suspenseful. It was very funny and classic. They used humor and quirkiness to have a fun and eventful impact on the reader. It pulls the reader in by making them question the stories he tells. If you have read the previous books to this one and liked them, it is definitely for you.

This book was sooo amazing it distracted me for a whole day. So I did not watch any TV like I usually do. That's why for Christmas I am getting the whole collection. This book has so many different versions. It can keep you distracted for a very long time. ?That is one of the great things about it . 😊👌

This book was hilarious!!! I laughed so many times. Greg is mean though. He walks all over Rowley centers himself in the friendship and acts treats Rowley like his assistant, not his friend. Actually, I would argue worse because at least assistants get paid. Rowley doesn't deserve it, he needs a new friend.

Very funny little book,it only took me a day to read it because it was so good!
I love the way it has bits from the diary of a wimpy kid but from Rowleys' perspective and other bits he didn't but in.
But really loved this one,on to the next on in this series!!

LOL cute and my first book of 2021. Has been sitting on daughter's shelf for years unread. Needed a break from Netflix binge and amused my kids by bursting into hysterics (Greg's prank).
