Join Camille and her friends as they set out to find the missing Bliss Fiori, and the events of Prophecy Girl begin to take hold and Camille learns more about the world her mother tried so desperately to keep her from.
I decided when I was six that I wanted to be a writer and I've been working my way towards that goal ever since. When I was young I would rework books that I'd read, writing myself in as a character and changing around details to make it my own. I remember walking into a bookstore as a kid with my parents, I'd always had a thing for books but this particular time I remember seeing the name 'Stephen King' on a lot of shelves. At the time, which was the late 80's early 90's he did not take up as much real estate as he does now but it was clear he was important, it was also a name my parents read. I remember seeing the name and knowing that I wanted to be like this ' Stephen King' and made up my mind. At school, when teachers asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up, I said Stephen King. I studied Novel Writing at George Brown College where I was able to fine tune my craft, learning how to properly shape a novel and about specific genres like mystery and romance.
I am constantly trying to grow and improve as a writer, and I hope to be always learning and evolving as I grow.
What a pleasure to be able to enjoy the 2nd book in the series. I'm new to urban fantasy but feel this is the perfect read to acquaint myself with the genre. The world immersion doesn't stop with the book, however, as author Maurice posts live readings on her social media account, something I can't get enough of since it offers the opportunity to hear the work from the writer's own lips. I look forward to future installments of this series.
This book is a Mind Bending Experience - not just for the main character either!
Enjoyed from beginning to end even if it did mean that I didn't go to bed until 3 AM. At least I resisted finishing it then and waited until after breakfast. You may note an homage to Laurrell K. Hamilton here and its not by accident. Rain admits she's a fan girl big time. Any reference to Obsydian Butterfly and Burnt Offerings is intended and not the author couldn't come up with anything so she took it from Anita Blake. Not. Its right there in the Acknowledgements. No apologies needed. We all bow down. This book is a sequel to Prophecy Girl. It takes off running where "Girl" was a fast paced slow boil. I had trouble just putting it down!
I have waited SO long for this book!! It was so worth the wait. Camille is back and on a quest to find some answers. Nothing is ever easy and so shenanigans and danger follow her. This book was such a great read. Enjoyable from beginning to end. I love the author’s twists and special touches on the world she’s created. If you’re a fan of fantasy and magic with paranormals, this series is for YOU! I give this 5 stars.

I sooooo can’t wait for the next! Loved this! So well written and laid out. Camille is the hero I need to be. She’s so powerful and vulnerable at the same time.
