I wanted to see for myself if I'll like this book.. for a guy who is so "in" love with his best friend why did he act like he wanted all these other girls? Is it a teen thing? Dating girl after girl then saying does this girl ass is fake? To Stella?? Like really? I felt bad for Stella cuz she does like Cannon.

“For years, Stella, fucking years I’ve wanted you.” <--- you just started liking her.. you cared for her as a "friend" then BAM in love love.. i don't buy it.. heck i believe stella love more.. :/ if Cannon did love her for years why did he date so many girls? He wouldn't have ruined their friendship.. since she been crushing/loving him since forever... :/

I was also disappointed bitchy mean girl rach didnt see them kiss or be a couple.. :( girl needed that  "HA" in her face.

This got 1.5 star for the cover and cuz they both virgins..

Best friends to lovers.

Best friends, Cannon and Stella have always been there for each other.

Cannons the star quarterback, good looking and treated like football royalty. He’s also a nice guy. But what nobody realises is he’s in love with his best friend Stella.

Stella, the quiet nerdy girl. She tends to keep to herself. Not having much of a social life nor any friends. That is unless you count Cannon. But lately things have started to change. Well for her anyway. She’s come to see that Cannon is starting to be more. These feelings she’s starting to have for her best friend are something she knows she can’t keep secret anymore. But she can’t but wonder what’ll happen if she tells him.

These two are just so damn sweet! Friends to lovers. And the slow burn to the explosive outcome is freaking awesome,

Not much drama, just your typical mean girl who gets put in her place (loved that) the creepy guy who gets an ass kicking (now that was awesome) and you’ve got a feel good romance.

Did I mention our leads are Virgins? Bonus!

This was just okay for me. I didn’t really love the characters here. I thought that Stella was super judgmental and I didn’t think Cannon really loved for as long as he said he did. It honestly seemed like a lightbulb went off in his head on how he felt about her. Maybe it’s just me but it didn’t come off as an “I’ve been in love with you forever” sort of feeling.

I know so many will like this one and of course, Jenika Snow writes hot sex scenes. This one just wasn’t a winner for me.

Another great story from Jenika. It was a sweet friends to lovers’ story about two high school friends. Cannon and Stella have been friends forever. She was the nerd and he was the jock. As they got older they started to realize that they wanted to be more than friends but were too scared to act on it. This made their story realistic. Their chemistry was off the charts and when they finally come together, it was done beautifully.

This novel was full of contradiction one moment the hero is standing there and is struck by his feelings for h like someone slapped him then, the next he’s telling the h that he had loved her all his life. Also the heroine who was strong when it came to others became very weak and pathetic in front of hero she was like a lame puppy dog always walking around him wanting his attention.
Who discusses other girl’s assets it in front of the girl you’re interested in. The h is always green with envy.

Also didn’t like the fact that the first time they had sex H was if not drunk was tipsy and not only they didn’t use protection but also he didn’t even pull out.what if they got pregnant ? They were just 18 and had their entire future ahead of. Why would they take a risk like that? They weren’t stupid so why were they so reckless?

I loved this!!! Absolutely loved it! Jenika Snow never fails to bring me all the feels in her books. Cannon and Stella are friends and have been for a long time. She's the "book nerd" in high school and of course, he's the football star. I loved how there was some cattiness with other girls but it wsn't over the top. Also loved how Cannon put a stop to it when one girl tries to say something about Stella. You can tell they have feelings for each other but seem scared to act on them. I loved also that there was no over the top sex since both characters were still in high school. The only thing missing for me was the usual epilogues that I'm used to seeing from Ms. Snow but this was still an excellent friends to lovers story!!!!

Jock Blocked is every nerdy, unpopular girl's fantasy! Stella has been friends with Cannon forever. They are always there for each other. He is the popular football star and she isn't popular in the slightest. She helps him with social studies and he watches out for her. When they both catch feelings without knowing how the other one feels, they almost take the easy way out. Luckily they confess their feelings, just like Jake confesses to Samantha in Sixteen Candles. This story gave me all those same feels, watching the hot jock get the sweet caring girl who loves him for himself. This was the best little escape I could have asked for, 5 stars for Cannot and Stella!

Aww Cannon and Stella are so cute together. And hot - lots of hot - loved it! They are friends. Stella is the quintessential smart girl and Cannon is the popular football jock. As they grow up they realize they might actually make it work as more than just friends.
Jenika has a way of writing sweet romances that bring the steam. Loved this one.

I'm usually not a big fan of high school romances, but this was honestly pretty cute. Cannon and Stella have been best friends pretty much their whole lives. Lately, Stella has been crushing on Cannon, but because he's a super popular football player and always has other girls hanging off him, she assumes he wouldn't be interested in nerdy her.

There were two things that kind of got in the way of me really enjoying this one. The first is that there are a lot of inconsistencies that really should have been picked up in a good round of editing. Like, for example, Stella asks Cannon to drive her to and from work after her car breaks down, but then after Stella sees that her creepy coworker shows up with a black eye, she's surprised the next morning that Cannon has one too. Didn't she see him at school the previous day after those two had their fight? Didn't he drive her to and from work? How would she have seen the coworker before Cannon and been surprised?

Also, it's pretty clear in the first half of the book that Cannon wasn't feeling romantic feelings for Stella, but then he has an a-ha moment, and then he realizes that he's attracted to her. But then in the last few chapters, he says that he's wanted to be with her for a long time and that he's wacked it while thinking about her for a while.

There are other things, but, yeah, it needs a bit of polishing.

The other thing that drove me crazy was all the slut shaming.



Every girl in this book besides Stella is described as wearing trampy clothes and wanting to just get used by dudes. They were all boring, snotty sluts, and Stella was the only one who was "different" and therefore better than all the other girls 🙄. It was lame and unnecessary. Stella and Cannon had a strong friendship to base their relationship on; making every other girl in the high school look like a slut so Cannon would pick Stella wasn't necessary.

I started thinking about it all and how much time I’d wasted, how she could’ve been mine this whole time... What I felt was misplaced. I had no claim over her, no right to her. She was my best friend, that’s all she could be... truth was I couldn’t change, especially not now, not with what I was starting to feel for her.➔➔➔ “For years, Stella, fucking years I’ve wanted you.”... “You wouldn’t believe how many times I’ve jerked off to you, Stella.”

YA friends to lovers

This is a very sweet best-friends-fall-in-love story.

Stella and Cannon have known each other since grade school. Stella is the unpopular smart nerd and Cannon is the popular football star. Yet, they've always been best friends.

Cannon appreciates and respects Stella for who she is and Stella sees beyond Cannon's jock persona. They were honest and real with each other, except for admitting their growing feelings for one another. As this is a Jenika Snow story, they will get their happy ending and the reader will swoon over their romance. It's a quick, sweet story with heart.

This is a safe read with no cheating and no OW/OM drama. There is explicit language and a steamy sex scene after they are both of age. This is definitely a story more about the feelings rather than the physical. I really recommend it.

Jock Blocked

Jock blocked was very well written. It’s a friend to lovers story that transitions beautifully. The hero is possessive and overprotective of the shy introverted heroine heroine in the very best way.

For me it was not one of my favorite Jenika Snow books and that is only because of the subject matter. I’m not the biggest fan of sports romance and I struggle to connect with high school age characters. It’s also more of a happy for now instead of a happily ever after. Please don’t let my opinion keep you from reading this book because that’s all it is is my opinion.

A sweet Little read

I did quite enjoy this best friends to lovers book, I found it to be very sweet and showed that just because two people friends doesn't mean that love can't develop between them even though they've might be two different people. I've liked the two person point of view to show each person side of the story, I found the book to flow straight into the next chapter easily. the book is a quick read that can be read within an hour or so depending on how fast you read and was a nice outlook on this genre

Sweet high school romance between best-friends-turned-lovers. It was all interesting and engaging until the unprotected sex they have towards the end of the book. This isn't okay, not for me, and esp not during these times when there's no excuse to protect your loved one and yourself. Honestly, I already don't like reading about unprotected sex in more adult romances but the fact that these MC's are in high freaking school makes it infinitely irresponsible in my opinion.

Loved

Cannon and Stella are friends, best friends. But that doesn't stop them from wanting more from each other. While fighting their feelings for fear of ruining thier friendship, they fall deeper until their isn't anywhere else to go but to each other. I loved this story. Jenika is about the only author I've ever read that writes about men saving themselves for the women they love and that makes it even more special.

Not an HEA :(

I thought the book was mostly done well and was really cute. It was on the short side but still put together well. I love that neither had been with anyone else. My issue with the book is that it has an HFN, not an HEA, and I think all romances should have HEAs. There was no epilogue where we get to see how/where things end up. I was very upset by this. I wouldn't have read it if I knew it would end the way it did. I need more finality than this.

Shelly and Cannon are high school best friends. Cannon is the star quarterback on the football team. Shelly is smart, intelligent, and nerdy girl who is tutoring Cannon to assist him in social studies. Shelly and Cannon were both going about living their best lives, when both notices an attraction for each other that had not been communicate between them. Cannon discovers that he only wants Shelley for himself, after blocking his friends from trying to date her.

Stella and Cannon were great together, they shared a strong friendship, the connection was strong. Cannon would have done anything for Stella, she was his world.
The chemistry between Cannon and Stella was sexy and sweet. They were great together. I enjoyed their story, it was great.

Cute friends to lovers

This is my first by Jenika but it won't be my last. I love novellas and this was just perfect. I'm not usually all about friends to lovers of even high school books, but I loved Cannon so much that he made this book for me. I love alpha males and I loved how he loved Stella. Completely and with all his being. What a cute book!
