When rain forces them all to take refuge in the same motel, sparks fly. A night of drinking and karaoke leads to a connection deeper than either of them expects.
Rayne — What do you do when someone writes a song about your most private feelings and experiences and you hear it on the radio for the first time? To fix his career and more importantly himself, he’ll have to go back and fix the damage he’s done and apologize to the people he’s wronged in the past.
Nicole James is a USA Today and Wall Street Journal bestselling author who loves writing about hot alpha men who'll do anything for the women they love! Her stories are filled with struggle, conflict and real human emotion. She is the author of the Evil Dead MC series, the Brothers Ink Tattoo series and more.
Well, I will start by saying I am a huge fan of the Evil Dead MC series. I was so excited for Jameson's story, the first in the Brother's Ink series, since he was introduced in one of the EDMC books. I was, unfortunately, disappointed. I thought he deserved more. I felt the same way with Rory's story and again unfortunately with this series as a whole. Rory and Rayne's story was too easy, too simple and seemed just a bit too perfect. Don't get me wrong, I liked it but it lacked a punch. I love a bit (or a lot of) angst and really big obstacle to overcome and this didn't deliver it. I will say that I loved how sweet and attentive Rory was and Rayne was a fairly strong heroine, but I was just waiting for the WOW factor.
This is a sweet uncomplicated story and all in all a nice end to this series.
I love Nicole MC's series. And I had a lot of expectations for this series too and sadly I was not a huge fan. All books in it had the right ingredients but they just didn't blow me away.
Rory and Rayne meet by chance. They feel an instant spark. It was interesting to see both of them give in to it. Rayne then goes off with her girl posse and Rory begins his tour. Life takes an unexpected turn for both of them. Rayne hears the song Rory wrote about her life and is not pleased at all. Rory is having a hard time coming to terms with life on the road not being what he thought it would be. He also gets an unexpected career boost and finds himself lost. He turns to the bottle and things spiral out. Felt Jameson should have owned up to knowing how to get a hold of Rayne was disappointed to see it was never acknowledged. Rayne also has to make some decisions and I felt was immature about some of it. She was stubborn and prideful but also snarky. Was happy how Rory figured out what was important in life and held true to it. Also felt Rayne needed to be just as grateful for the life she was being given.
I wish I could give more star's for this story 😂,it was incredible, outstanding, exciting and just plain fantastic!!!. It is a very moving and touching story that you can almost feel the love 💘in it.☺😊. Nicole is an amazing writer and fantastic storyteller!😄.
Everyone has been waiting for Rory’s book, which is the last one from Nicole James’ Brothers Ink Tattoo series.
Rory is the youngest of the four brothers and if you’d seen the cover of this book, you’d clearly see how the ladies swoon over him. He’s is just so damn hot ... gah‼️
Anyway, Rory is set to make it big with his music career. Not only is he drop-dead gorgeous but he’s extremely talented as well. Those who have read Liam, the book before this one, will remember how Rory was having a hard time writing music.
Inspiration comes in the form of a beautiful biker named Rayne who has big brown eyes and the coolest lavender-colored hair. As quick as these two meet and enjoy a night in bed, she’s gone. But one thing is for certain, Rayne and Rory definitely have a connection. Rory writes a song that ignites his career into the stratosphere, a song all about Rayne and a personal tragedy that probably should have been run by her before it went viral.
I was surprised how long it took for Rory to finally find Rayne after he lost his phone. Actually Jameson’s wife, Ava, (Jamison and Ava are my FAVE couple of the series) was one to come up with Rayne’s whereabouts. Rory probably had forgotten that when you lose a phone, your contacts are usually backed up and saved and will show up on a new phone.
Rory and Rayne sure have a lot of unexpected surprises heading their way. Nothing like jumping in the deep end to get wet! Of course there’s a lot of this and that going on, which you’ll have to read for yourself, because really, Rory has some ’splanin’ to do.
Since this is the last in the series, I love how Jameson is so much a part of this book. He has raised his brothers after they’d lost their parents when he was only eighteen years old, making sure they’d never be separated and determined to provide for them. What he should realize is the phenomenal job he did with all three of his brothers. I absolutely adore Jameson for that. He is the patriarch of the O’Rourke family, who has earned the right to be the grouchy, bossy, badass tattoo guru that he is. Jameson’s words at the end of this story sum it all up perfectly:
~ Jameson raised his cup high as the fire crackled and the wood popped, shooting sparks into the air. “I’ve learned, with a little help from my beautiful wife, that the secret to having it all is in knowing that you already do. This family is a circle of strength for all of you to draw from. We’ve had amazing successes, but we all know that it’s not about the size of the house… it’s the people in it.” ~ And yes, Jameson, rest assure that Mom and Dad are very proud.
Loved the way this series ended. Nicole James knocked this one outta the ballpark, wrapping up this amazing series perfectly. Thanks, Nicole, for bringing these O’Rourke boys into our lives. Five stars.
I am pretty disappointed by almost every single character in this story. Rory's bulldozing attitude when he confronts Rayne about the pregnancy and Charlie about being there to care for her. Rayne's friends meddling and blasting her private life on news outlets as punishment for Rory's lack of response. Jamison for telling his family to keep Rayne's information from Rory. Each character behaved without regard for anyone else and manipulated mostly Rayne, who seemed to just accept everything that happened to her. Her friend's tried to guilt her into telling Rory she was pregnant, and then when she didn't confront the men of Brother's Ink, they go behind her back and air her private business on national news...as a punishment for Rory not getting in touch with Rayne. Those are horrible friends to have. Rory blasts into Connor Motor Works and within a single short conversation with Rayne takes over every aspect of Rayne's life; including making her leave her job, arranging how the business will be managed (despite having been there all of ten minutes and having no actual idea how to run a bike shop, or having any clue who he's speaking with), recruiting said horrible friends to help him undermine Rayne, and moving her in with him. All without actually talking to Rayne. He just talked at her, made decisions, and then did what he wanted. This story moves very quickly, and I have to assume that these characters were supposed to be "take charge" and "decisive" to help progress the storyline. That is not what happens at all. The characters are pushy, entitled, and come across as cruel at times. I like the author's writing style, but this series in particular has left me wary of picking up another in the future.

Rory is the fourth book in the Brothers Ink Tattoo series. Rory is the youngest brother of the four brothers. He is a tattoo artist, but also a musician as a member of Convicted Chrome. Rory does not like to admit that he is a member of the band as people do not treat him the same. So one night while he was riding to his next concert venue, he was forced to take refuge in a local motel. It was that night he met Rayne. She was riding with her pals to a bike meet.
Rayne and Rory spent a night together and then split. Rory writes a kickass song about her life, after that night. The rest of the novel covers Rory’s rise to fame and Rayne’s struggle to keep her business life and personal life together. She is suddenly going to be a single mother with no way to contact Rory, except through the Tattoo shop. Rory has no way to get in touch with her except for knowing she runs a motorcycle shop.
The novel had a lot of situations that could be expected and sounded kind of humdrum at parts. Rory’s drinking and fame going to his head and then after reconnecting with Rayne - all sort of lavishness.
I like the novel Rory by Nicole James and finished the book despite the middle humdrum.
I love this series and excited to see what the author had planned for Rory. He's the baby of the O'Rourke men. Like his brothers he's a talented tattoo artist but he's also a guitarist in an upcoming bad. With his family and with his band he hides behind his laid back demeanor. He's a bit childish and reckless when it comes to women. This is evident when he meets Rayne. The pair meet and have an immediate connection. Her defenses are probably down as she's been struggling with the loss of her brother but is determined to survive. Nicole James didn't waste time brining them together. I liked how candid they were with each other when it came to their lust but they failed to have the all import conversation of safe sex. I was a bit disappointed that neither addressed this at time. I was also disappointed that this couple reconnected with only 20% of the book left. The majority of the book was about the constant missed connections between them. The ending was what I expected but it was a little to late for me.
Listen if you haven't found this author yet you are so TOTALLY MISSING OUT! Nicole knows how to grab you by your soul and she will NEVER leave you hanging! She writes some of the best stories that will leave you breathless and pining for more. She leaves your heart totally destroyed but ALWAYS puts it back together better than before. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this author and I know that you will too. She writes characters that get under your skin that steal your soul and makes you want to give them your heart. I could not put this story down. I love all of the O'Rourke boys. Each of them brings there own sizzling SEXY sweet adorable treats to the women that love them. Rory was my favorite because he had NO intention of getting with any woman. It was fun watching how it all played out. Rayne was my kind of girl she was strong yet very down to earth with SASS. It made for one heck of read! I would reccomend this and every book by Nicole to anyone and everyone!
Great book, and a nice wrap-up to the Brothers Ink Tattoo series! 😊 I admit I wasn’t as invested in reading Rory’s story in comparison to his older brothers — but that’s only because I’m not really a fan of heroes who are musicians or romance reads that centers around a rock star (nothing against them… just not my thing).
But it was only right to read his story and get this series complete!
And my verdict? His story was pretty enjoyable. His was a rollercoaster ride and one of growth and needing independence.
Both Rory and Rayne are likeable characters. Rory is a musician wanting to make it big but has to navigate through the life of fame, tours, and media attention. Whilst Rayne is coping with the loss of her older brother, trying to keep his business afloat, and now an unexpected whirlwind romance with a guy she connected with deeply one night, but who is ultimately a stranger. The minute they meet, it’s an immediate attention grabber. I didn’t want put the book down!
Despite their struggles in both their personal lives and their relationship, their concerns were relatable and reasonable. Seeing them navigate through their blossoming relationship was heartwarming and engaging to read. Whilst they hooked up relatively quickly and had strong feelings for one another instantly, the development of their relationship was relatively slow and often hit road bumps. It was nice to see the growth and development at a steadier pace. It didn’t read as insta-love at all.
And finally, seeing the brothers (and their partners) come together in the end and really wrap this entire series up is exactly what I hoping to see. I love that the ending left so many great possibilities for the brothers and their expanding family. I love that the story of the O’Rourke brothers has come full circle from struggles to success. That they all got their happily ever after!
Not a good thing for a book. I mean, ugh, there was just nothing really exciting or cool, nothing to make me feel connected to the characters or the story. Aside from the usual instances when this author makes me roll my eyes, there were some iffy parts. Just meh, nothing that would make me want to re read this at all.
Some inconsistencies, some details that were poorly looked over, no real connection between the characters. I mean when you REALLY think about it, in a span of a year, they had maybe spent a month physically together. Even after the baby was born. He was home for a week and then gone again. I honestly felt absolutely zero love between the two main characters. The sad thing is, this is the last book in this series I’m sure, as there are no more brothers. So yeah, maybe I was expecting more of a bang. If I had known better, I would have just passed on this.
The Rockstar Tattoo Artist and The Bike Shop Owner Girl
This story by Nicole James blew me away ! It has so many roller coaster up and downs. It begins with a chance meeting at a karaoke bar, a one night of passion that forever changed Rory and Rayne. From that night on, no one else compared for either of them. Two people passing in the night: Rory to meet up with his band on tour in Denver while Ranye was biking to California for a women’s retreat with her 3 friends . How they found their their way back to each each other was a rocky road with pitfalls of frustrated drinking by Rory. Rayne finds herself pregnant but she hears nothing from Rory. Mishaps keeps the 2 apart with lost phones, lost letters until Ranye’s girl posse intervenes. Well written, believable characters combines together into a steamy romance with a HEA ending.
What a freakin' mess the first 3/4 of this book was! All kinds of lying and secrets! Everybody lied or hid something from the people they cared about. People sticking their noses in other poeple's business, interfering in their lives. I didn't like Jameson. I didn't like Sasha. I didn't like Rory or Rayne at times. All the drama that happened because people can't just communicate! I hate that shit in a story!
What really sucked was that the end was pretty good (or at least there were good parts), but it never felt like they had a real love story. They met, had one night, and then six months of absolutely no contact, and then another three with very little. I didn't feel like there was any build up to them falling for each other, just...boom, they're in love now!
I have read the whole series and can't get enough, seriously could not put this book down read it all in a few hours. There isn't a book of Nicole James that I have read that hasn't been an amazing read. Defiantly get lost in her books, the characters and their lives. I am an Irish girl so as much as I love all of her books Brothers Ink holds a special place in my heart and probably my favorite, and I just can't decide what brother's story I love the most. Not sure if it is the close family ties and how amazing these brothers and their wives are or maybe it is the celebrating with some good Irish Whisky. Either way a must read.
Rory is the youngest brother at Brothers Ink. He plays in a metal band and on his way to leave on tour, he meets Rayne who is riding her motorcycle on a trip with friends. She is mourning the loss of her brother and vulnerable. Rory falls for her beauty and kindness. Due to a series of mishaps, he loses her phone number and gets his big break in the entertainment industry. He never forgets about her and tries to find her. It is a wonderful story of characters that are realistic, flawed and worth of love. I love this series and am sorry there are no more brothers.
The last story of the Brothers Ink Tattoo and I'm conflicted. The first 3 brothers story build Rory's character and story well. So when I read Rory and Rayne's story I felt like their story didn't have enough interaction between them and therefore leaving their relationship luck lustre. I just wasn't feeling it because he was on tour and not really looking for her. Also loose end is Jameson not telling him about Rayne dropping by, what the heck! It felt like an icky loose end flying in the wind!
Nicole James' incredible storytelling just keeps getting better with every book. I anxiously await each one knowing I will have the great fortune of, for a few hours, living in the wonderful world she creates. Her characters are so beautifully written and filled with emotion you feel in her every word. My tears fall as I am overcome but in a good way. The Brothers Ink series has been one of my most loved.
Having to wait for the younger brothers book was rough. I’d almost forgotten about him but believe me it is definitely not a story you wanna pass up. From a chance meeting to a one night romp, lost phones and unexpected pregnancy, to making it big and almost losing it all, this book will give you the feels. And as luck would have it it will also give you one hell of a ride
Youngest brother of the O'Rourke's moves from just a tattoo artist to a Rock Star
Rory plays in a band that does opening acts for the Headliner Charlotte Justice! On the road to a meeting for his Brothers Ink he meets a girl and has a one night stand with her, she later on discovers she is pregnant and tries her best to tell him but all in d's of things happen to them. Cute romance story with lots of twist and turns!! Recommend with a 5 Stars rating
When Rory meets Rayne he's taken by her lavender hair. They have one night together, and make plans for a later. Life has a way of making things difficult. Rory loses his phone, his band blows up and he's left with a need for Rayne with no way to contact her. All things change on a dime!! Rayne has unexpected new and Rory has life changes. Will these two have anew beginning of Will they forever be lost. Read now you won't be disappointed!!
This was a bit of a let down. Closer to 2.5 stars. Loved Raynes character and, truthfully, I enjoyed Rory’s too. The problem was that we didn’t learn how things got resolved. It was a short book and that’s because half the story was missing. Why did Rayne so easily forgive him or what her friends did? How’d they work out the tour and work and living situations? Didn’t quite get the closure I was looking for.
And again with the insta “I love you’s”. REALLY?!?
RORY is book 4 and the last in the Brothers Ink Tattoo series written by the talented Nicole James. This is the continuation of the O'Rourke brothers and their lives, now is Rory's and Rayne story to be told. After Liam I couldn’t wait for Rory’s book, and Nicole doesn't disappoint. The plot is fast pace and well written, amazing characters, sexy lady bikers, hot singer/tattoo artist, romance and babies. What more do you want? Love it!
I love this series and the Brothers. Each brother found their way to the woman meant for them. Rory was no exception, he met Rayne and that one night together set off more than anyone thought would happen. Sorry to see this series go, hope we see more in Charlotte's book. Love the O'Rourke brothers.
I loved this whole series and I couldn’t wait for Rory’s book. I loved the connection he and Rayne shared. I enjoyed this story and felt that Rory truly found his soul mate. I loved the epilogue and while I’m sad to say goodbye to these brothers, Nicole hit this out of the park.
Rory is the last brother and I was waiting to read his story - it doesn't disappoint - Rayne is on her annual trip with her girl squad when she meets Rory, though a couple of mishap the lose touch - will they be able to reconnect or will it all be lost ... only time will tell. We also, get a sneak peak at his brothers who we've grown to love.
What a great end to entertaining series! The four brother each getting a book. This is Rory and Rayne's story. Nicole's has once again drawn us magically into their lives. We feel their fears, doubts, anger, lust and their love is palpable. So wonderful they all found their ""one"". I highly recommend this book and the entire series!
Rory meets Rayne at a bar and spend the night together. They have feelings for each other and after a series of mishaps they lose track of each other. Rory is finally making it big as a rock star. Rayne believes he has forgotten her. Loved how it all came together for them. It was a great ending for the O'rourke brothers. Will miss reading about them.
