A woman born to rule an Empire. The three Dragons destined for her. Can they overcome the obstacles in their way? Or will her family put an end to their happily ever after?
I am Delinda. I am the True Heir to the Dragon Empire. I have no say in it. My uncle thrust the title upon me twenty-two years ago, but I'm not ready to rule an Empire.
Until it becomes the answer to my problem.
Two suitors have been presented for marriage. Both of which were born to be mine, but I'm already in love. A love that is true but forbidden. Should be easy enough to tell my mother I want both men. Now, all I have to do is find a way to make them accept the man that I love, while trying to get my act together enough to take control of my destiny.
Surely it can't be that difficult?
A Reverse Harem Fantasy. M/F/M/M Claiming the Throne - Book 2 - OUT NOW!
*THIS IS THE FIRST BOOK IN THE DRAGON REALMS SERIES, BUT ALSO THE FOREVER SERIES, BOOK 18. YOU DO NOT NEED TO READ THE FOREVER SERIES TO READ THIS BOOK.*
Eve is a USA Today Bestselling Author with a specialty for steamy romance with strong female leads.
She lives in the UK, with her husband and five kids, so finding the time to write is short, but definitely sweet. Eve has a number of series, both completed and on the go and hopes to release some new and exciting projects, both paranormal and contemporary in the future, so stay tuned!
Dragon shifters and steamy romance = a can't be missed story. Eve Newton introduces Delinda and her unconventional mates in this new series, and it is an interesting read. I can't wait to see how she expands the story further in the next book.
Really enjoyed this Dragon RH. Delinda is a right character, fierce and demanding, just like her mother. Good thing, she's found not one but THREE guys who will stand up to her, call her on it and then give as good as they get. Awesome dynamics. Pres's virginity status was a cool twist as we usually see the simpering virgin girl. Loved how Delinda deflowered him, LOL. Must read for any fan of Dragons, RH, Hot guys, steamy sex...need I go on?
I despise every single character in this book. I don’t know if I’ve *ever* read any book with characters who I so wholly and completely loathe.
Also, can I just mention that the MMC, To’kalh, was previously intimate with FMC’s mother? He’s like a hand-me-down mate. Gag!
The other MMC, Remus…Ressus…Remmy? Whatever his name is…he’s so crude and nasty. He only wants FMC because of her power and title and he comes off like a creeper. Seriously. He feels like one of those creepy guys a female would go to extreme measures to not be alone with.
The FMC…Delilah…Daria…Darinda?? Whatever. She’s a nasty ho. She’s a stuck-up, conceited, spoiled, disgusting, nasty ho. It feels like she forces her cooch on the males she wants, regardless about what they want. Then she gets mad when they have to physically stop her from raping them.
Also, the writing in this book stinks. It feels like we were dropped into the middle of a story. Is this an offshoot from a different series? Because I don’t understand most of the world-building details. I feel like important info was left out. Maybe we’re already expected to know this stuff from a different series?
I don’t understand how their dragons work either. Do they carry around a little mini dragon on their back all the time? Is the mini-dragon their shifter self? That’s kinda how it sounded, but also not. Freakin weird man.
Needless to say I DNF’d this book. I don’t know how long I stuck it out, but I felt like I was reading it forever.
This is an amazing read, that I could not put down. It moves along at the perfect reading speed which is neither too fast nor to slow, has amazing characters that you will fall in love with and a story that will grab you and keep you interested until the very end and then you need more. This is a must read, no doubt about it. You will not be sorry that you did.
This spinoff to the Forever series starts off fast and steamy and keeps on going. This book, the start of a new series and a spinoff, can be read as a stand-alone. Some references to characters and events in the Forever series may have deeper meaning/understanding having read that series, but not enough to distrust the enjoyment of this book.
Delinda is a young female dragon who is has reached an age where her uncle and Emperor is requiring her to marry. As his heir she is expected to marry one of the male dragons on a ‘short list’. Delly has her own idea of who she wants to marry and she schemes to get her way. Meanwhile she discovers her Chosen Ones and decides to emulate her mother and not choose just one.
The story moves along very quickly, the steam factor is sizzling and the cliffhanger isn’t too abrupt. You go in knowing this is a reverse harem series and that additional books are coming to continue the story. I received an aRC from The author for fair and unbiased review. I’ve read several of the Forever series books, but not all of them and found this to be much more enjoyable.
Anyone that knows me knows I am a lover of anything dragon. The first book in this series leaves mysteries to be solved. Delinda, heir to the dragon kingdom has a lot to learn. She has little control over her dragon, and has let herself be ruled by her hormones. This is a steamy story Its also a story based on abuse and tragedy. I can't wait to see what happens next when Delinda embraces her dragon and mates to become The true Queen.
Unfortunately I forced myself to finish this in hopes it would get better. Sadly, it just turned out predictably.
All the characters are one dimensional and very few of them garner any type of likability or sympathy. The MC in particular is a bit too immature for me.
While I had a little trouble getting into this book initially, I soon found my groove and devoured it in one sitting. There were a few parts that felt a slightly too fast -I'm putting it down to some hard to read paragraphs that got me caught up a little- but otherwise I really enjoyed the read. Eve did a great job making this a proper standalone spinoff series and apart from a few mentions at the beginning that felt a bit random, I found that I could follow it quite easily without having read the Forever series. Absolutely looking forward to the next book in the series!!!
So it started out spicy and interesting with plot and then the author decided to overcomplicate things because she didn’t feel like what she wrote would be good enough which turned this book to shit.
Eve Newton’s books are always super easy to read and great fun. This was no exception, but I didn’t love it quite as much as the main Forever series, that this is a spin-off from.
There’s no mention of MM in the blurb but it’s in the 2nd book, not for me thank you! MM in any RH is polyamory IMO, it has to be ALL about the female, feels too much like cheating to me
Starts off kind of slow while the story develops but gains momentum pretty quickly. The main character has a crazy and extensive family that had me back tracking once or twice to get it straight. The plotline is interesting and she throws a couple of twists in there to liven things up. The sexy scenes are dreamy steamy and will definitely warm you up. There are family dynamics and drama with little magical additions and DRAGONS! Who doesn't love stories about dragons and heiresses? Killer ending!
I just didn't like it. I wanted to. Tried to. But just didn't. Delinda is bloody annoying, up and down so quickly with her emotions I got whiplash and jesus, the men are toxic examples of "masculinity". Rexus made me mad. He's utterly unforgivable with his actions and words.
It also seemed like I came in halfway through a series. Is there a prequel? 🤷🏻♀️ Who knows.
It gets 2 stars because the ideas and world building were interesting and the writing was okay
Eve Newton weaves her magic through The Dragon Heiress and the result is a scintillating book set in a dangerous yet seductive land. Delinda is the Heir to the throne of the Dragon Realms, now ruled by her Uncle Dracul. Her mother, Aefre, is the Queen of the Dragons with full and fearsome power. As her mother's first child, Delinda is the only one that has the full power of the dragon. Long ago, Dracul chose her to take over his reign, but not until she learns what her responsibilities will be as the new Empress of the Underworld. Aefre lives on Earth with her husbands and this is their first chance to be together without her siblings interfering. The time has come for Delinda to be married and it is up to Dracul to make a list of all the acceptable candidates. No matter who else is chosen, she needs To'Kah to be one of them. He is her Guardian who settles her inner Dragon and calms the power surges the dragon gives off when she's excited. There seems to be a great deal of tension between Aefre and her daughter where To'Kah is concerned. When all three are in the same vicinity, Aefre gets a look that borders on jealousy. He is Delinda's first true love, but she knows that she can't do a thing about it until she discovers her Chosen One. Perhaps she will follow in her mother's footsteps and have the Chosen Ones! Rexus and Pressley are the only dragons who cause her body to feel as if it were hit by lightning each time they touch so they must be destined to be her husbands. Although they fight it at first, Delly's "men" love being with her and realize that there is limitless pleasure to be had when they are all together. But this would not be an Eve Newton tale if there weren't a shock or two as an ending. Perfect spot for a cliffhanger!!
Hmmmm..... First time i've liked and not liked a book lol! This was my first book to read by this author and for a little bit I was lost because in the beginning there are character references that I didn't understand because this is a spin off series. You aren't lost for long though so that's good.
The world building is a little soft because the main focus is on all the characters but you don't end up noticing it because there isn't a lot "world" interaction for that to come into play. But when it does it is done very well. Now for the part that I don't know if I like it or not. The emotional whiplash in the characters, the first 2/3 of the book the characters have like 180* emotional swings within just a few paragraphs. I couldn't tell if it was intentional or not until about the last third. The main characters really started to have "growth" especially when they are being put to the test so to speak. I think i'll definitely be reading the next book to see if that growth still continues.
The storyline itself it pretty cool, "realms" kind of like an Asgard type of deal, dragons, magic, and steamy hot sex. Arranged marriages, sort of and those seem to work out remarkably well. She even throws in the dominance "hierarchy" alpha, beta etc which was a dynamic I wasn't expecting. And, there is definitely nothing wrong with the way the steamy scenes were written! My hubs might get lucky tonight lol. Overall kept me entertained and I'm interested to see how everything develops and ****SPOILER***** I hope we get to see more of her pregnancy in the coming book.
I did receive this an an ARC for an unbiased review and decided to read it in KU instead.
So I have not had the chance to read the original series but that did not stop me from thoroughly enjoying this new series without being lost and confused. It has for sure made me want to read the original story line as well and has added more books to my TBR list. The FMC is such a strong character that knows exactly what she wants. I really enjoyed the fact that she kept fighting for her first love. I cannot wait for the second book to come out and I love Eve's writing style as well! This is a must read!
This book was on fire from beginning to end. If you love sexy time they have plenty of that and if you don't idk what to tell you lol this mc is not for you. And of course unlike most books with a lot of bedroom time this book actually has a plot. It took me a second to understand what was going on with her parents, but thats because she has her own series. Don't worry if you haven't read it though this book doesn't need to be read with that series it just gives you extra info on the world this author has made. Love it and thank you for the story.
Eve Newton brings her readers to a new world of dragons. Delinda is the dragon heiress forced to pick from a pre-selected group of suitors. The thing is though, she doesn't want one man, she wants two of them. Follow Delinda as she navigates suitors, family, and the hard choices she has ahead. The Dragon Heiress is a great read that starts slow, developing the story, characters, and world before jumping quickly into a fast-paced, sexy, joy ride of fun. You will love every moment!
As Delinda gets ready to fulfill her destiny, she is expected to take on a chosen husband... this has her feeling so sad, as the one that she truly loves can’t be considered to even win her hand in marriage. Fate seems to have other plans for Delinda.
Forgive my rudeness, but this novel is actually laughable. I barely got two chapters in before I started cracking up. It legit reads like a parody.
The writing is wooden and it is basically just long summaries interspersed with clunky, clichéd dialogue. Examples below:
It is late, and quiet, enough for me to risk visiting with To’Kah. I shouldn’t, but I just can’t keep away from him. He is gorgeous and sexy and so sweet. The only dark spot is that he used to be my mother’s Guardian before she found my papa, and no longer needed him to balance her Power. He got handed off to me as the best of the bunch for the Heiress. He was in awe of her and did things he regrets deeply now. You see, my mother is a bit of an anomaly around here. She was born, as a human, from an illicit affair between my grandmother and Drake, King of the Dark Fae. She was turned into a Vampire at sixteen, back in the year 1012. It was only about twenty-four years ago that she came into her Dragon Powers, when an eons old prophecy kicked in.
Eh??? Like...what? How is any of this exposition relevant? This is like 'show don't tell' but in reverse and dialled up to the max.
This paragraph is followed by an interesting sex scene with the above mentioned To'Kah:
His breath hitches as he takes in my full breasts, flat stomach and bare mound. I grip the back of his neck and leap up to wrap my long, lean legs around him. He lowers us to the bed gently, conscious of the fact that he is so much bigger and taller than me. He doesn’t want to hurt me, but the reality is that he actually couldn’t. I am stronger than he is.
Good grief. I can't stand physically perfect heroines that are also supernaturally strong or high-powered, and oh, just so happen to be princesses as well. Eyeroll.
REAL TALK: I understand that the quality of romance writing has really taken a hit with all the self-publishing going on, but I wish goodreaders and reviewers would at least indicate whether the writing was subpar to expectations, even if they enjoyed the novel and want to give it five stars.
I don't say this to be mean to the author. Clearly, lots of people loved this work. I say this because, for people like me, the quality of writing directly affects my enjoyment of the story. For example, there might very well be an interesting tale in The Dragon Heiress underneath all of that amateurish, fanfic-style writing, and some readers might be able to persevere through the crap to get to it - however, I simply can't.
This whole book was such an absolute cluster fuck that I don’t even know where to start, honestly. Forgive my scattered thoughts, please.
The names? Mythical dragon world with main characters named Delinda and To’Kah I can deal with. But Rex? Preston? Trey?? Are you kidding me?
The author seems not to realise that it’s acceptable to use the word “said” either. It’s always a synonym and it’s never good, i.e. “I bleated”, ”I muttered”, “he spat”, “she growled” etc etc.
The plot is laughably absurdly awful. “Oh I’m a special dragon princess no one is as powerful as I am I have all of the powers and make all of the decisions and I’ll throw a tantrum if I don’t get my way”. She wants to lead a country as soon as possible so she can be with her Guardian (also she’s 22, they’ve been intimate for I think 6 years, and he’s hundreds of years old and was involved with her fucking mum first so despite her saying she pursued him, get real) but she has zero ability to take care of herself, no knowledge of the world, and no control over her temper. She frequently slaps her husband with her claws out, drawing blood, when she gets annoyed. Again, are you kidding me?
I had to grit my teeth to convince myself to finish this book, as I can’t leave things unfinished, but good lord do I wish I could for this book specifically. Spare yourself the hassle, there’s nothing redeeming about this book, as I see it.
I can’t believe I forgot, there are such serious issues with consent and boundaries here. Delinda tells her partners that they have no choice in her bringing more men into their relationship, but the men are not even allowed to be intimate either each other without her giving permission and her being able to watch like her own personal show, despite a centuries long relationship between Rex and To’Kah. All relationships are different, but make it a discussion instead of an absurd ultimatum.

Eve Newton brings readers to the Dragon Realms with her new series “The Dragon Heiress: The Dragon Realms, Book 1.” In this new reverse harem series, the readers are introduced to Delinda, the True Heir to the Dragon Realm, who is a young, one-of-a-kind Gold Dragon. Her uncle and parents have lined up a list of acceptable suitors for her, but she knows what she wants. There is unrest within the kingdom and Delinda sparks controversy with her unconventional why choose choices. This is an interesting start to a new series. Delinda is a bit spoiled and annoying, but the author has left a lot of room for her to grow as a character as she takes on responsibilities that she should have already been doing in the kingdom that she is the heiress of. Hopefully we will see that growth and maturity come as the series progresses. The male counterparts to Delinda also have a lot of interesting possibilities for growth as the series continues. It will be interesting to see where Newton takes these characters. I also can’t wait to see what kind of real connections form between the characters. The sex is steamy, but emotional connections make the reader keep going with the series (along with an awesome plot...can’t forget that). While this is a start to a new series, it is a spin-off/book 18 of The Forever Series so there are recurring characters from that series, you don’t have to read The Forever Series. I was able to follow along despite the fact that I haven't read that series. I will say though, that it never hurts to read more books… I received an ARC for my honest and unbiased opinion.
This book is HOT, no hotter than that! And it has a male love interest for EVERYBODY ! This is the first book in a new series by Eve Newton, but I promise you, it starts of running and gets faster - and racier! I absolutely bloody loved it. I have to admit, at times I wanted to hit the FMC but that's because she wasn't doing what I wanted her to do and that is totally on me and not on the author. And yes at times I cheered her on, I even got my pom poms out and shook them. And her talks with her mother has me in stitches at times. Delly really knows how to have her cake and eat it too - with maybe room for a biscuit on the side? I did not put this book down - it really peed off the cat, but it was worth it. I loved the characters and the storyline read smoothly and with nice twists and turns. I liked the ending, it hints at things to come without leaving me baying for the authors blood (and yes I have been known to threaten authors with a wet lettuce!) I am excited to see what happens next with the characters, and I can't say anymore in this review or I'll be giving spoilers and that's one thing I NEVER EVER do. Would it help if you'd read the FOREVER series? Maybe, but you don't need to have and quite frankly everything is explained so no, it's not necessary - would I say this is a spin off from the FOREVER series? Erm yes and no - a cop out I know, but look, the characters are there but the plot lines are not involved with each other. Go in, put your feet up and indulge yourself, you deserve it. X
If you want dragon drama, check! If you want horny 20-somethings (appearance only?) in a mixed bag of highly experienced to virgins, check! If you want family drama you can't quite follow up, check! However, this is a reverse harem story, and Delinda is the star, she's also future Empress and she wants a man she can't have, she's also forced to be married in a couple of days, she opens her big mouth a lot, and it's not to take dick, it's to open enough and try to swallow a 12in stiletto heels. Suffice to say, her lack of experience in some areas will be her doom, but she's gonna show some growth, even if the reason is somewhat frown upon. Rexus is a dick, he's aiming for the crown, and he'll fall for the girl! Pres is a sweetheart, in search of redemption, and he will fall for the girl. To'Kah is complicated and will face great scrutiny for bedding the heir to the throne, keep bedding the heir when she's married.
But hey, no one saw a pregs woman coming from all that activity.
It's fantasy obviously, but usually the characters tend to know what's up, but this one never worried in the slightest before and it made her irresponsible all around. The next book is definitely a whole story with a lot of sex, belly growth and a throne steal? Oh, did I spoil you all on whose is the father? It starts with a T.
Now let me try to pick and actual 2025 read, see you soon! (Yes, I'm counting this as 2024 read)

We begin this story with Delinda who is the heir to the dragon throne - a title thrust upon her by her uncle. Delinda at first appears to be spoilt princess - she has been avoiding her responsibilities and her royal training - but that is about to change .... Delindas life takes a huge turn when she finds out she must be mated off and soon! if she wants any say she is going to have to meet those approved suitors on her uncles and mothers short list and hopefully have some influence. Will Delinda find her chosen one in these men - will she lose her first love or will she be able to have them all ? This is the first in the series and there a few storyline’s that we are going to be able follow into future books. There is plenty of steamy action and the plot is easy to follow. I do feel like there is room for fleshing out of some of the plot lines - hopefully that will come with future instalments. There is also interesting takes in this PN universe that I find interesting including some ‘cross breeding’ between species which I am sure is going to come into play later in the series! As always with Eve it’s an easy read - looking forward to seeing Delindas story progress and what happens in this dragon realm!
Delinda is the Dragon Heiress of the Dragon Realms, she is currently living life as a carefree and slightly spoiled dragoness who is in love with her Guardian To’kah. When Delly learns that her mother will be staying in the Castle with her Uncle D and her father Delly’s fears of being forced to marry come full circle. She knows that she won’t be consulted on who she wants on the short list, her Uncle demands that she pick one husband from the list of what he considers suitable mates. But Delly isn’t drawn to just one man on the list, her dragon has chosen 2 completely different men, and Delly sets out to cajole her Uncle into letting her have them both.
Not only does Delly have her two new chosen in her life, but she is determined that To’Kah, her first true love be included in the bonds. She has her work cut out for her trying to get everyone to agree that her dragon is set on her mates, and won’t be dissuaded from her path.
Follow Delinda in the brand new series as she learns just what her carefree and spirited attitude might cost her....and can she live with the guilt she might be forced to carry!
