Second Chances

Rate this book
Three full length second chances stories from three New York Times Bestsellers Say I’m Yours I spent twenty years waiting for Trent Hennington to open his eyes and see me. But it was all for nothing. He chose to keep himself guarded and let me walk away, proving that my time and efforts were wasted.I’m done being invisible. It’s time to move on.A single dance sets my new reality into motion, and I welcome it. After all, Cooper Townsend is perfect. He’s kind, sexy, and attentive—everything a girl could want.I thought I got it right this time. That my heart could mend, and I would be happy.Apparently, some things really are just too hard to walk away from. Beautiful Mistake The first time I met Caine West was in a bar.He noticed me looking his way and mistakenly read my scowling as checking him out. When he attempted to talk to me, I set him straight—telling him what I thought of his lying, cheating, egomaniacal ass.You see, the gorgeous jerk had wined and dined my best friend--smooth talking her into his bed, all along failing to mention that he was married. He deserved every bit of my tongue-lashing and more for what he'd done.Especially when that lazy smile graced his perfect face in response to my rant.Only it turned out, the man I'd just told off wasn't the right guy. Oops. My mistake. Embarrassed, I slunk out without an apology. I was never going to see the handsome stranger again anyway, right? That’s what I thought…until I walked into class the next morning.Well, hello Professor West , I’m your new teaching assistant. I’ll be working under you…figuratively speaking. Although the literal interpretation might not be such a bad thing—working under Professor West. This was going to be interesting… Drunk Dial It seemed like a good idea at the time. Look up Landon Roderick, that boy from childhood whom I’d never been able to forget—even though he so easily forgot about me—and call him. Then again, anything sounds like a good idea when you’ve had a little too much wine before bed, right? It was supposed to be just a quick, meaningless, prank call. Instead, I went off on him—unloading thirteen years of pent-up emotions. I didn’t think he’d call me back. I certainly could never have anticipated the weeks of sexually tense phone conversations that followed as I got to know the man he’d become. Turned out, Landon had never really forgotten me, either. That special connection we had was still there. I opened up to him, but there were also things about me he didn’t know. And he had his own secrets. Over the countless hours we talked on the phone, I wondered what would happen if we actually saw each other. One night, I did something impulsive again. Only this time, I went to the airport and booked a ticket to California. We were about to find out if one phone call could bring two lost souls together or if my drunk dial really was all just a big mistake.

Here we have three novels in one. The first, 'Say I'm Yours', by Corrine Michaels. It's part of her 'Return to Me' series and it's wonderful! Our hero has been stringing our heroine along for years, but now she has had enough and he will have to step up or step off.

The second book is, 'Beautiful Mistake' by Vi Keeland. This story starts out with mistaken identity and proceeds to be excellent! Our heroine thinks she is letting the creep who dumped on her friend in on his mistakes. But afterwards she learns she yelled at the wrong guy. Embarrassing enough, add to that the fact that he is her new professor. Ugh! Hang your head in shame, girl. Lots of fun, lots of romance.

The third book is, 'Drunk Dial' by Penelope Ward. Okay, not my favorite in the set, but still good. Our heroine is kinda irritating. She drunk dials a guy from her past and is a jerk to him. Then, instead of counting his lucky stars he will never hear from her again, he continues their relationship. Although this is one of my favorite authors, this book may have just hit me at a time when I couldn't quite appreciate it.🤷🏼‍♀️

REVIEW OF BEAUTIFUL MISTAKE

I listened to Beautiful Mistake on audio, this is part of a brilliant bargain box set along with Drunk Dial by Penelope Reid and SAY I'M YOURS by Corine Michael's. Three authors who I always one click and I also love their audio versions of the book.

Beautiful Mistake is a Student/Teaching assistant and Teacher romance but so much more. Weaved through the story there is a young boy and girl, a girl who lives in an abusive home and a teenage boy who pretends to be a priest in a confessional box.

When Caine and Rachel are re-united years later neither connect the dots, Rachel still believes to this day the person she told her secrets to was a priest and Caine does not know this is the little girl he once listened to week in week out until one Saturday she never came back and now the same girl now a woman is the TA in his class. I loved this part of the story.

There is a perfect mix of angst, hotness, humour, a story-line that keeps you hooked and a swoon-worthy hero in all three of these books and I would definitely recommend this box set or just each book alone, second chances are my weakness.

Told in first person dual pov and leads to a hea. Brilliantly narrated.

I enjoyed them all, maybe 2 & 3 most
I like second chance romance. I love Andi Arndt & Sebastian York. I love Corinne Michaels. I like that the characters are older and more established in their lives. I have to say for the most part I enjoyed the story. I do have to say the passive aggressive wishy washy from both characters....that annoyed me some. I felt some of their behavior was more the actions of younger people vs older people. The sex was hot. The family interactions were touching. The family portion probably got me the most. Definitely a tissues should be handy.

Beautiful Mistake: Vi Keeland
I loved this story. I love the performances of Sebastian York & Andi Arndt. I loved the story. The older man/younger woman, second chance, professor/ta....all those apply. I loved the back story explaining how it is their second chance. Full of the feels. Two broken people who find and heal each other.

Drunk Dial: Penelope Ward
I loved this one. I listened to it as part of a bundle. I adored Landon & Rana's story. Childhood friends. Her first crush. Long time apart. Drunken late night decision to call the boy who was your first crush leads to a long distance romance being kindled and lots of issues they both have been dealing with being unbundled and shared. Loved, loved, loved. And Andi Arndt is such an enjoyable narrator. She brought this story to life.

Narrated by two of my absolute favorite performers, Sebastian York and Andi Arndt knocked this out of the park. This audiobook involves three novels in one. The first,

'Say I'm Yours', by Corrine Michaels. Small town Sheriff Trent has been stringing his pseudo girlfriend along for 20 years, but now Grace has had enough and decides to move on. Unable to accept the loss of the only woman who he has ever loved, Trent is furious when he learns shes going on a date with one of his best friends and goes all out Alpha to win back his girl. Such a great story full of heartache, love, and friendship.

Beautiful Mistake' by Vi Keeland. This story starts out with mistaken identity and proceeds to turn into Sexy Professor and his Assistant. Rachel thinks she yelled at the jerk who dumped on her friend and cheated on his wife one night while she's out with her bestie but afterwards quickly learns she scolded the wrong guy and even more embarrassingly finds out a few days later that he is her new boss. But this is not the first time that Caine and Rachel are re-united. Surviving an abusive home life, Caine does not know this is the little girl he once listened to week in week out is the same woman in his class until one saturday she tells him more of her past. .

The third book is, 'Drunk Dial' by Penelope Ward. It started with a drunken phone call, our Heroine Rana vents her intoxicated hurt that Landon never said goodbye when her family moved out and is a jerk to him. Thus begins their Phone-Romance when he dials her back. Rana Saloomi is a beautiful, single 26 yr. old woman from Michigan and although she always felt insecure about her exotic looks, and though Landon remembers everything about her Tom Boy younger self.. he can't control how much this all-grown up Rana get's his heart beating faster.
"I don't know how to handle my attraction to you… Because what I'm feeling…it's pretty intense. You're stunning. I just want to start at you… To be perfectly honest, I want to do more than just stare at you.".

3 Hot Titles in 1

Second Chances gives you three full-length second chances stories from three New York Times best sellers.

These are all sexy stand-alone novels that are not currently found in audio through any other streaming service including the library.

Say I'm Yours by Corinne Michaels, Beautiful Mistake by Vi Keeland, and Drunk Dial by Penelope Ward.

Sebastian York and Andi Arndt are the nummiest as always!

These little value packs don't come around very often so don't hesitate to snap this up!

I listened to this through Audible Escape, but that wont be around much longer so if you have the service, better get it before its gone!

Definitely Not Woke....

the 3rd story, drunk dial, has slvt shaming, s3x work stigma, casual fatphobia, weird race stuff (referenced "exotic looks" twice... unironically!), weird moralizing about unwanted pregnancies/adoption.... it was actually a decent romance plot but all that other stuff was distracting and annoying.

the 1st and 2nd stories had issues too but I basically forgot the last story as soon as I started each next story, so I don't remember details now. they were similarly unenlightened though, from what I do remember.

there was a bonus very short 4th story that didn't even have any hot scenes but was probably the best of the bunch.

Love Vi Keeland, Beautiful Mistake is great. Love how she writes the dialogue of the characters. Narrators’ Andi and Sebastian are great. Their voice are amazing. Just want to know if anybody knows the title of the bonus nobela in Audible which is included in this box set? Thanks!
