Wynter's dreams are coming true: after more than a year in foster care, she finally has the home she always dreamed of when Caleb buys a ramshackle farmhouse on the mountain. Her experience of the world is growing, with Jesse to guide her at every step (even when she'd rather he didn't). She has her first boyfriend, her first job, and a new hard rock band at school.
But one of her brothers is hiding a shameful secret. Just when her hopes of a united family seem possible... he's gone.
And one by one, her other successes are falling apart. How will Wynter cope when her desire for a simple, safe life is under threat?

This is book four of a five-part series. The story line from the get-go was intriguing and captivating; the story still remains so. The characterizations are in-depth and quite diverse, as is the case in real life. Over the course of these novels, there has been growth and maturation in all the main characters. The main emotion that comes to mind when describing these books is poignant, then too, so is real life. Ms Creasy has managed to create an authentic rendition of daily living, with all the highs, lows and in-betweens. Highly recommended reading for a gripping and heart-felt saga.

I decided not to review every part of this series. But today I feel like I should comment a bit: I am looking forward to part 5 this series is really good. It’s nice to see the development of this family and all the ups and downs life has in store for everyone. And I hope there will be a HEA for Wynter, Caleb, Indio and Jesse.
I still can't believe I'm 4 books in and not bored. Is usually have given up by book 3. And that would be 3 hour reads, not 8-10 hours like this series. But it's so good. And those last 2 words really made me laugh!
I am immersed and captivated by this story and this family. What they have endured as individual children, the boys as a broken family unit. And Wynter herself— how she has survived at all is a triumph of the human spirit. Here she gains way more teenage experience. And she almost has a breakdown over DeeDee’s existence and then non existence. So much more seems to be in the works. I am, however, sad that half the series is not on KU. It’s hard to pay for that monthly and then have to buy books as well
This story is haunting and beautiful. Family is everything to Wynter. Follow along as she struggles to understand, that leaving doesn't have to be forever. Lost Melodies continues to show a lot of firsts. It leaves you guessing at every turn. You never know what's going to happen next. Grab some tissues and cancel your plans. Impossible to not binge read. I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
