A born protector, Asher signs up for jobs even the most trained men won’t take …
But finding a set of female autistic twins in mainland China—after someone has gone to a great deal of effort to make sure they are never found—isn’t easy. Finding those responsible behind the actual kidnapping is even harder …

And to her heart … She’s not the same person she was back then and, being with him again, shows her just how much she’d screwed up her relationship with him.
Yet betrayal, deceit and bodies litter their pathway as they struggle to save the missing women before the kidnapper’s assassins get close enough to take them out instead …

When SEALs get sick of following rules because they hold them back from doing the right thing they either accept it or walk away. However, for a select few there is an alternative - they can join The Mavericks - a covert black ops team that gets the job done (even if they have to break the occasional rule on the way). In the previous book in this series, Asher Tromblay had helped Beau Madison when Beau too the lead in a mission for the Mavericks and now it was Asher's turn to lead one. He is given the mission of finding a set of female autistic twins in mainland China with an old friend and colleague Ryker as his backup with a plus one which more than raises his eyebrows. The plus one is Mickey who is none other than Asher's ex-fiance and was the nurse who was looking after the twins and with them when they were kidnapped. When Mickey sees Asher and works with him to find the twins she starts to realise what a mistake she made ten years ago. Can they dive through all the layers of betrayals, lies deceit and a growing list of bodies to find out who was really responsible for the kidnapping and who has been on a killing spree? At the end will Mickey get her heart's desire and get a second chance with Asher or will he reject her?
This story had plenty of drama, mystery and action as they travelled through China and worked their way through the complex layers of betrayal, lies, deceit and violence to work out who was responsible for each level of the plot and who should pay for everything that had happened. It way that Asher and Mickey worked through their issues was very realistic and I loved the way that they struggled to see what was happening between them. Well written and easy to understand you do not need to read the previous books in the series to enjoy these books. There is sexual content at the final stages of the story.
I really enjoyed this book with it's multiple suspects in the kidnapping of autistic twins when they go to visit their mom while she is working in Shanghai. The twins are beautiful, former models, 30 years old and their mom who is a world famous wedding planner. Wow, did I say all that in 2 sentences? Asher is new to the Mavericks and known to take on cases that others have refused. He agrees to this then finds the twin's nurse and caregiver is none other than his ex-fiance from 10 years ago, Michaella or rather Mickey for short. The engagement was before Asher became a Navy Seal. Mickey was left knocked out and heavily drugged when the twins were kidnapped. Asher will have a partner in Ryker who will be a real help except for his totally enjoying the bickering between Mickey and Asher which is indeed entertaining. The search goes into some shady areas where people involved in the kidnapping are dying. Mickey is needed as the twins have multiple problems including diabetes and stomach problems along with behavioral problems associated with the autism. They love to be in their comfort zone at home in their garden and this is about as far away from that as is possible. The story continues as the search goes on and involves a lot of people who may be part of the kidnapping making their job more difficult but the mystery even better. A very exciting read! The epilogue talks of Ryker's new assignment where he will go to the Columbian jungle to rescue Manila and her team as they have been captured and detained. She had been looking for platinum and has found illegal gold mining. Ryker is familiar with jungles thank goodness but this still should be an adventure I won't want to miss.
This exciting story has you traveling to China and Switzerland, how fun is that? Except, there are autistic adult twins that have been kidnaped and a huge ransom has been demanded from their mother who is a famous wedding planner. Mickey, the twins’ nurse, was also drugged when the young women were taken. A frantic hunt has begun to find the two sisters before health conditions put their lives in more danger.
Asher finds himself working with this new “security” firm and his first lone assignment is to get to China to meet up with his partner, Ryker, and together, they will meet their contact, the nurse for the twins, Mickey, who just happens to be Asher’s ex-girlfriend.
What an adventure these three are on! The incredibly wealthy mother will spare no expense to have her daughters back home safe and sound. She is depending on the Mavericks team to find her girls before anything happens to them. Asher and Ryker will use the hard core intelligence and many other resources the Mavericks supply for this needle in a haystack search throughout Asia for these two identical young women.
This story is full of twists and turns with unexpected lies, secrets and danger when the bodies start piling up. What makes it all the more exciting is Mickey and Asher were a “thing” about 10 years ago and Mickey walked away from him afraid she wasn’t good enough. Asher is still stinging from the ease in which Mickey threw away their relationship. It is obvious that they both are still attracted to each other but they have to put that aside as they search for the twins in a hostile environment where they can’t trust anyone.
I love this story! Many puzzle pieces needing sorted out and put together makes this an intriguing and suspenseful journey!
This is the 5th book in the fabulous Maverick series and, although it is a standalone, old friends from previous books pop up. Asher Tromblay had helped Beau Madison when Beau too the lead in a mission for the Mavericks and now it was Asher's turn to lead, this was a sort of initiation to gain entry into the Maverick team. The Mavericks were a black ops group made up of ex navy SEALS who were disillusioned with working with restraints and little budget. Asher was to have Ryker, and old friend and colleague, as backup and Beau was to be on mission control. The mission entailed locating and rescuing thirty year old autistic twins who had been kidnapped, they were the daughters of a very successful and wealthy wedding planner, the fly in the ointment was that the nurse who looked after the twins was Asher's ex fiance who had finished with him 10 years ago and broken his heart, she was to accompany them. The journey took them to China, it was fraught with danger, nothing added up and there was tension between Asher and Mickie. Who was behind the kidnapping ? as usual there were numerous suspects, why why were the twins kidnapped ? was it for the sex trade or were they being held for ransom. The body count escalated and Mickie was being set up to take the blame. Asher became very protective but could he get them out of China safely ? Could they pick up where they left off ten years ago. Another fantastic story from Dale Mayer, it twists and turns and has all the elements, murder kidnapping, extortion and of course romance. Highly recommended.

This is the fifth book in Dale Mayer’s ingenious military romance series, The Mavericks. “ The Mavericks” is a covert black ops group that has the same goals as the SEALs. The only difference is that they do not have to work under any constraints of rules and regulations.
Each agent works alone with only one assistant to help him. In this book Asher is the agent and Ryker is his assistant. Their mission: rescue two autistic 30 year old twins who have been kidnapped in mainland China. The kidnappers are asking for huge ransom.
When Asher and Ryker arrive to begin their search, Asher discovers that their “plus one” is Mickie, Asher’s former fiancé. Mickie was hired six months ago to look after the twins and was with them when they were kidnapped. She had been knocked unconscious and drugged while the kidnapper left with the twins.
As is true of all of Ms. Mayer’s books, this author delivers an exciting story with a complex plot. In fact, Ms. Mayer takes her readers on the roller coaster ride of their life. The clues are many, but most of them lead us in the wrong direction.
The characters also have great depth and lots of emotion. Asher is bitter about his breakup with Mickie. Meanwhile, Mickie still loves Asher, yet realizes that she has totally ruined their relationship. In spite of this, the two of them are able to work together to locate the twins before they end up dead.
This is an exciting page-turner that is impossible to willingly put the book down.
Asher is ready to take on his own assignment. There's a few twists in this one for him. He's being sent to China to find adult autistic twins, and their caretaker is someone he used to know very well.
Mickey was impatiently waiting for the team the twin's mother Chandra has hired. She was in the same room, the one where the twins were taken. She has to be with them to help rescue them. One of the things the twins hate is change, they really didn't want to come on this trip with their mother they like staying home in their safe environment.
Chandra is convinced that the reason they were taken were because she was refusing to do a wedding for a very influential bride. She brought the twins on this trip because she felt they need some change. Not a very smart move.
Asher has Ryker for a backup and they aren't so easily convinced. Mickey has made her decision to go with them and help with the twins when they find them. However her history with Asher is a stumbling block.
There are many twists and turns as this story evolves, some I guessed at others totally surprised me.
To be honest I couldn't see Asher and Mickey coming together at all.
Plenty of action, suspense, intrigue and an interesting progression to sizzle.
This is book 5 in The Mavericks series and it features Asher and Mickey. It’s been 10 years since they were together. She broke it off because she didn’t feel worthy of him. Obviously she had some issues that needed to be worked out. Now, she is the nurse/caretaker of two autistic women who have been kidnapped. Asher and Ryker have been sent to find them. The family they are working for are some extremely scandalous people! I felt a connection between Asher and Mickey but it wasn’t flirty or romantic. It was more like two people who used to know each other but now were not sure how they would be received by the other. It’s a thin line between love and hate.
The action and adventure were top notch! The mystery and suspense is fantastic throughout this entire series! I would have liked a little flirting or SOMETHING between Asher and Mickey but at the same time I love how the majority of the romance doesn’t take place until the mystery is solved or close to it. I’m looking forward to Ryker’s book next!
Asher has his own assignment from the Mavericks and he is accompanied by an old friend, Ryker, and a plus one, Mickie. The problem is that he and Mickie used to be engaged before she broke his heart. Mickie is the companion to 2 grown autistic twins on a trip to Taiwan with their mother when their hotel room is broken into and Mickie is punched and drugged. The twins are kidnapped and that is when the Mavericks are called in to help. Mickie insists on being with the men every step of the way in case the twins are found and they need her for medical needs. Along the way, bodies start piling up and suspects start stacking up. Asher and Mickie share a chemistry that is revisited as they search for the twins. When they finally get some answers, will it be in time to save Mickie from being a target herself?

Asher by Dale Mayer Mavericks Series Book Five Asher Tromblay has been called out to head is own mission. He'd meet up with Ryker in Shanghai...and one other person. Like a ghost from his past, Mickey would be on his team. Apparently, she was taking care of the special needs adult twins that had been kidnapped. His mission just became a bit tougher.
Michaella “Mickey” Hunker was worried about her thirty-year-old charges. One was diabetic, the other had health issues too. She had to be with when they were found so she could calm them down. Help them with their medical needs. Even if it meant spending time with Asher.
Their suspect list keeps changing. The dead bodies keep piling up. And then...about the time they figure out who is behind the kidnapping...they could be in deeper trouble than they thought. I'm really enjoying the Mavericks series. Great characters and page-turning stories. **Sexual content https://justjudysjumbles.blogspot.com...
When Asher gets the cal for his mission he;s told that Ryker will be his back up and his plus one will be Mickie an he says he only knows one Mickie an it better not be her but it is She broke his heart ten years ago.Vickie was really surprised to see it was Asher and someone named Ryker. She knows deep down when she broke their engagement she made the biggest mistake in her life. There go on a wild Chase trying to find the missing thirty year old twins that are autistic. There are so many twists and turns to this story will keep you riveted until the very last page and leave you begging for more.I love the way this amazing author brings the characters to life before your eyes and you can feel their emotions and their pain.I can hardly wait to see whats next by this multi talented author.

Like his Mavericks brothers before him, Asher completed his first mission as backup to Beau and now he is leading his own operation. Former SEAL and buddy Ryker is on board for backup. The surprise is the plus-one who is Asher's ex fiance from ten years ago, Mickey.
At stake are the lives of kidnapped beautiful twin sisters who are also Autistic. They should be safely ensconced in their peaceful home, but some twisted person (or persons) is using the twins to gain wealth and power.
Once again the Mavericks home team is on electronic standby to provide information, supplies and more backup. Still, running an op in China can get very sticky.
Asher, Book 5 of The Mavericks, is another non-stop page turner full of great characters, suspense, action and heart warming love.

When Asher gets his assignment to find two kidnapped twins, he’s also informed that their nanny Mickie will be joining as well. Problem is, she’s his ex fiancée from ten years ago and she broke it off with him and now they have to work together to bring the twins home safely. As the race is on to find them, their past comes up as well and they need to mend their past before they can move forward and find the twins before it’s too late. A great read with suspense, some action, some twists and a bit of steam. I liked Asher a lot but I had to get used to Mickie as she still seemed like the insecure girl from years ago. I liked the flow of this read, it was fluent and kept me turning the pages and I also liked the no OW drama. *I voluntarily read an advanced copy and expressed my honest opinion*
When Asher’s next assignment with The Mavericks is to find two adult autistic twins who have been kidnapped from their mother the last person he expected to see was Micky, the woman who broke his heart a decade earlier.
Mickey was employed as the nurse’s twins and she is very familiar with their health and needs. She is concerned about both their emotional and physical health but working with Asher will be more painful than she expected. When she ended their relationship all those years ago she thought she was doing what was best for Asher but spending time with him has her wanting a second chance but will he be willing to give her one?
The story takes you on an action packed adventured filled with intrigue and twists as not only are they on a mission to save the twins but to heal from the past as well.
Twisted and convoluted story full of bodies, lots of moving around to different areas.. so many guesses as to who the villains actually are and the why's or what goes, keeping the reader on edge and not sure where the next hit or clue will come from. Interesting use of internet and satellite information and cameras, I love reading the techy stuff because I'm.quite a novice and wouldn't have a clue. The characters as always are easy to love and get to know, the sparks fly a bit between Micky and Asher because of the hurt and pain from their past but Ryder is a useful buffer when needed. Oh and his story is up next and sounds intriguing as well. I love the mystery and suspense, all the twists and turns these books take to give us readers a thrilling ride throughout. Amazing and unique.
Layers upon layers of intrigue. This one read as a well done mystery! Lots of possibilities with a few surprises at the end. This is Ashers story and we met him in Beaus, as he was Beaus back up. He heads to China with his back up Ryker and a second. A second who turns out to be his ex fiance who was a nurse to the twins who were kidnapped. I wasnt that fond of his ex and I have to say I liked Asher a lot better in Beaus. Beyond that this was a wild ride, car, boat, plane with double crossing, and plenty of villains to choose from, a really wild mystery. Thank you Dale Mayer an Booksprout for the arc! I freely volunteer my thoughts and opinions.
It’s time for another alpha military hero to step forward for his sole mission for the Mavericks. Asher is still feeling it after his relationship went to zero after his girlfriend called it quits. Mickey falls into work after quitting Asher as she felt she wasn’t good enough for him. As she travels to China, she is injured when the adult twins with autism she is working with as kidnapped. As Asher, Ryker and Mickey race to find the girls, Info comes to light that suggests it’s someone closer to home. Bodies start piling up but who is guilty of the girls kidnapping??? Another great book in this series. Loved Asher and Mickey plus all of the intrigue and suspense that came with the story.
Asher isn't happy to find out that Mickey his ex-fiancée is one of his contacts to rescue the autistic twins. Mickey insists on accompanying them on their mission since as their private duty nurse, she can calm them down and give them medical help. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. This is a very suspenseful story. I like that Mickey shows the exhaustion of always being in pursuit of the kidnappers or on stake-outs. I like how satellite images are used to help track the kidnappers. I also like how Mickey was very helpful in pulling the pieces together. There is also a realistic second chance romance as both Asher and Mickey reflected on their past and potential future. I love this book and look forward to the next book in the series.
Asher is up next, and he brings us to China, to rescue Autistic Twins Their Mom asked the Mavericks for assistance finding them. She thought they were taken in regards to her Wedding Planning business, but things were much more dark and sinister. Mickey the girls nanny was injured in the capture and left to her own devices for the most part. Until Asher arrives, and things get tricky, because these two have history. As they worked together to find the twins, they also found out things, about what happened with their relationship. As usual, a lot of action and bad guys and mystery! Another Great Story!
This is a great series in which ex-SEALS are working for a new covert ops team with more leeway on how to get the job done. Asher gets his turn to lead a mission in which two autistic adults have been kidnapped while in China. The kicker is that their "nanny" is a woman who he used to be engaged to.
The story takes the team down many roads while trying to discover who has kidnapped the twins and where they are being held. In addition, old feelings come back up between Asher and Mickey.
For some reason, I had a hard connecting with Mickey. But this was still an enjoyable story with many twists and turns until the very end.
What a page turner! The characters: Autistic adult twin daughters wanting only to be at home in their garden, their highly-sought-after wedding planner mother, their nurse had been in a serious relationship with Asher ten years ago. On a trip to China, the twins are kidnapped and the nurse is drugged and left bound and unconscious in the hotel. And who cannot imagine how thrilled the Chinese government was when Asher and Ryker arrived to investigate the kidnapping and follow the leads to identify and catch the kidnappers and rescue the twins. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
I love how Dale Mayer weaves her stories, this time Asher has to help autistic twin models who have been kidnapped after their carer was knocked out. With one strange situation after another they come to rely on Mickie the carer who has history with Asher from 10 yrs beforehand. By the end when the women are finally home there is great insight into the world of the Mega Rich. I would Highly Recommend this book to Anyone and Everyone who wants a book and story of solid, believable characters, full of charm, thrills, action and it's damn Hot! Lol
You"ll kick yourself if you miss out on anymore of this authors work. ENJOY!
Holy H*ll.. this book was incredible! Asher is in China to rescue a set of autistic twins. Mickie is their caregiver, and she's also Asher's ex. It's been ten years since she last saw Asher. Now Asher and Ryker need to figure out just who is really behind the kidnapping of the twins. Tips are leading to bodies instead of to the twins, and the guys are racing around trying to save them before they are added to the body count. Twists and turns will have you wondering who the bad guy really is. Outstanding story!
Asher is ready for the next step in his life. Accepting a new mission brings him face to face with his past. Mickey a quiet girl, changed after looking after family grows into a new woman and she realizes what she have many years ago is still what she wants today. Trying to save her twins bring them together. Working together they realize that they can face a future together but first must solve the first case which very quickly brings a second case to solve before they can move forward together.
Asher is sent on a mission to rescue adult twin sisters with autism who have kidnapped. Their nurse Mickey was left tied up when the women were taken. Asher was in love with Mickey years ago and the attraction begins again. The suspects behind the kidnapping include their brother or even possibly their mother or a competing company in the wedding planner group. The story moves fast with lots of action.

I really liked how I was kept guessing as to her was behind the kidnapping and I tell you a changed my mind a few times. Adding Mickey into the mix while Asher and Ryker try and work the case meant some frighting times, good laughs and worry from everyone as well as tension in regards to trying to track the twins and between Asher and Mickey due to their past (talk about awkward!). A great second chance, action and adventure read with hot SEALs and kick ass women you can't go wrong!

Black ops, mystery, romance. Former Navy Seals are part of an elite organization that doesn't have restrictions like the Navy. They do the same thing but have more leeway to get the job done. Two-man teams get an assignment to rescue victims. Each story lead finds romance/partner.
Interesting story. The men all sound the same, with the same values in life, who want justice for the victims and to make the world a better place to live. There will always be evil people in the world. Their jobs will never end in the fight against evil.
Well this book was interesting to say the least. If you like running all over China for missing 30 year old twins who are autistic. Asher was assigned to go over and find them and meet up with Ryker and his plus one, who was Mickie and old lover. Things was a tangle of different people involed and dead bodies popping up everywhere. Hard to keep track of everyone. Lots of danger, high speed chases and dead bodies. Oh steam at the end. HEA.
Mickey is working for a famous wedding planner whose twins have been kidnapped. Asher is sent to recover them. As it turns out Mickey and Asher have a past together. They dated 10 years ago and she left him because she wasn't ready to settle down. The story is faced paced and it has a lot going on. The two are reconnecting after all the time apart, but they still have to find the twins. It's a good read with some heat toward the end. I volunteered to read this book via Booksprout.
A rather complicated plot slowed me down on my reading and kept me on my toes. Asher and Mickie had a thing ten years ago but ended it and went their separate way. They are surprised to see each other but they must find the twins before their kidnappers harm them! Another intriguing story by this great author!

I got easily hooked on this series. I really like how this author already introduces to the next “hero” from the previous books in the series. You meet Asher while reading Beau’s book and get to know him a little bit before he got his own mission. Same with Ryker, can’t wait, his book is next. Always action, suspense, and romance with the HEA. A happily ever after is a must in the books I like to read.
