When his call came, the mission was the opposite of what he expected…

Returning to his hometown of London, UK, was a happy surprise, until he realized what—and who—was involved. Out of his comfort zone when dealing with women sold into sexual slavery or even “collected,” regardless Miles was determined to dig in deep, when he realized he knew the latest kidnapped victim. A woman who’d touched him years earlier. To think she might be suffering at the hands of a deranged serial kidnapper or, worse, could be sold in some human trafficking ring…

Vanessa, tied up and blindfolded, has no idea why she’d been kidnapped. She does her best to obey her captor, even as she plots her escape. Her hope is that she’s been reported missing and that the cops are looking for her. … They are, but so is someone else…

Keeping Vanessa safe at his side, Miles is taxed to the limit to unravel and to capture a serial killer who’s lain undetected for decades, disguised as a serial kidnapper…

Miles is not ready to give up the adrenal rush from going on ops, but he feels it is time to get out of the SEAL teams. After ending his career with the SEALs, Miles joins a black ops team referred to as the Mavericks. When Vanessa is kidnapped, Miles get called to help Nico who was investigating a serial kidnapper and killer. Miles thinks that this is a cop matter and not a Mavericks op. Nico convinces Miles to lead the op, since Nico needs fresh eyes and knows Miles has the investigation skills that are needed to find the killer. While Vanessa was able to free herself from the kidnapper, the game of cat and mouse to find the kidnapper begins. Using technology and following leads Miles is able to find the killer and his partner. I liked reading this book because it was different. Anyone who has read a Dale Mayer book will love it too.

After leaving the Navy SEALs Miles has found a new home with the Mavericks and his next assignment has him in London trying to locate a kidnapped woman. What he wasn’t prepared for was that even though they don’t know each other he had been drawn to her since the first time he saw her picture.

Vanessa doesn’t know why was taken or who is behind the abduction but the one thing she does know is that she needs to escape. Even though her condition is compromised she is successful but that is just the beginning of her adventure and not the end.

The further they delve into the investigation the more the danger escalates as well as the feelings between them. Will they be able to uncover the truth before the kidnapper tries again with a more dire outcome?

New Maverick member Miles was happy to be allocated his own case in his hometown of London in the UK until he realised that he knew of the latest kidnap victim - a woman who had touched him deep within his soul years ago and who he had compared all women too afterwards. He was tortured to think that she was in the clutches of a serial kidnapper and might be sold into sexual slavery - failure just was NOT an option on this mission. Model Vanessa tied up and blindfolded. She has no idea where she is nor why she has been kidnapped. All she remembers is leaving her apartment building - she is just hoping and praying that she has been missed, reported missing and someone is trying to find her. When she is found, Miles will be taxed to his absolute limit unravelling and capturing the series kidnapper who has been seen as a serial kidnapper and who has remained hidden for decades.

I loved this story which featured a strong and feisty woman who was definitely the equal of her strong and determined man. There were lots of plots and sub-plots in this story which were unravelled bit by bit as Miles dug further into the mystery that both he and Vanessa were thrown into. There were definitely some surprises along the way and I was definitely surprised by the additional twist that was found in the story near the end of the book. I loved the way they had an attraction that as hard as he tried to ignore it proved to be too much for Miles to ignore any longer. He definitely got all of his Christmas presents in one. Well written it was very enjoyable and easy to feel and empathise with the main characters. Very addictive, I found myself unable to stop reading this story and so read late into the night.

This is the 7th book in the fantastic Maverick series.
Miles Radford, although English, had spent many years as a US Navy SEAL but was in need of another challenge. Having been back up for Ryker Lambert when they rescued Manilla, a geologist, from Colombian guerrillas, he was a bit envious of the blossoming love between Ryker and Manilla, wishing that he could find someone to settle down with.
It was Miles turn to lead a two man mission, a sort of initiation, for the Mavericks, a covert black ops team with no rules but a reputation of getting the job done. When the call came he was happy to find that his handler was to be Ryker, his mission was to return to England to find a kidnapped model, his backup was to be his pal Nico, another ex Navy SEAL.
17 redheads had been kidnapped, the latest of which was Vanessa Redburn, a beautiful model who Miles had worshipped from afar for many years. The kidnappings had taken part over 17 years, one every year.
This story follows the kidnapping and search for Vanessa and the blossoming love between Vanessa and Miles.
Is Vanessa smart enough to escape from her kidnappers?
Why were only redheads kidnapped and why yearly?
Were the kidnappers involved in the sex trade?
Why is Vanessa's cousin seen loitering outside her flat?
Was Vanessa the intended victim or should it have been Ruby, her red headed younger sister|?
Why are Interpol and MI6 involved?
This book has all the usual Dale Mayer intrigue, suspense, and twists and turns , as always it is well researched and well written, a great book that I didn't want to end,

Miles is pleased to find his mission would take him to London. However, this mission is not quite what he expected and a bit out of his comfort zone. The missing woman was very familiar to him as well. While he'd never met her he'd been drawn to the images of her for years, falling just a bit in love with her.

Mile's friend Nico is his partner on this case that both MI6 and Scotland Yard were interested in. It was Nico who has discovered a pattern that spans seventeen years of missing red haired women. Worse they think the man responsible may be military.

When we first see Vanessa she is bound and sensory deprived by a blindfold and something covering her ears. She knows she's been drugged from the fogginess she feels. All she can remember is being on her way to a photo shoot that was within walking distance of her flat. What she does know is she has to figure out someway to escape her situation even if someone is looking for her.

Vanessa does manage to outsmart her kidnapper and her getaway wasn't easy or without injury.

Miles meets Vanessa at the hospital, proclaiming himself to be her fiancé to be able to sit with her. When Vanessa regains consciousness Miles lets her know she is safe and he will keep her that way. It's not until later, when she's more coherent, that they realize she has seen her kidnapper and is still in danger.

This is a fast-paced, nail-biting tale full of intrigue, suspense and a simmer to sizzle romance.

I can't wait to read the next book in this series!

This book grabbed my attention immediately before the first chapter ended
.
Miles is a retired SEAL who now works for “The Mavericks.” This is a covert black ops group that does the same work as the SEALS but without the rules, regulations and red tape.

In this mission, red-headed fashion model, Vanessa, is missing, and believed to have been kidnapped by a serial kidnapper who is focusing on red-heads. Miles must leave immediately for England. From that moment on, the action never stops and neither does my attention.

Ms. Mayer creates very interesting characters in Vanessa and Miles, and Mile’s partner Nico. Their chemistry together is exciting, and I especially enjoy the fun banter between them.

In this book, author Dale Mayer skillfully creates a spellbinding suspense novel with lots of action, intrigue, adventure, with many twists and turns. Plus, it all ends with a gigantic surprise twist that blindsided me!

This is an absorbing suspense that holds the reader glued until the very last page.

This is the seventh book in The Mavericks series. After 14 years as an active SEAL and freshly back from helping Ryker (book six) get Manila Folger out of the Colombian jungle, Miles is excited to have the chance to return home to the UK for his assignment as leader. Assisted by Nico, who had been with MI6 before coming to the US and serving as a SEAL, Miles learned that the rescue will involve women who’ve been taken by a serial kidnapper and may be linked to other kidnappings of red-haired women going back more than 15 years. Miles is shocked to learn that this specific case involves Vanessa Redburn, his long-time supermodel celebrity crush. His dream girl. What a way to meet the girl of your dreams for real. On the serious side, what an amazing (and sometimes creepy) storyline involving catching these people who believe it’s ok to treat innocent girls like possessions to be bought and sold.

Miles by Dale Mayer
Mavericks Series Book Seven
Miles Radford is heading back to his home country, England. It's his turn to head up his own op for the Mavericks. A model has been kidnapped, and it goes much deeper than just her. They have a serial kidnapper on their hands, and he's been at it way too long. Time to stop him for good.

Vanessa Redburn finds herself tied up, blindfolded, and well...kidnapped. From the bits and pieces she's getting from her abductor...it's not looking like a good ending for her. All she can do is hope that help is on the way.

The Mavericks are a secret US government ops team. Each man runs an op with the help of at least one other man. They can choose if they go on a mission or not...and if they want to continue. Good series. It does get into some ugly scenarios that sadly are happening in real life. Each of the men are finding more than a satisfaction with a job well done. They each seem to find their soulmate on the mission as well.

(4.5) Miles is thrilled that when its his time to lead a mission its in his hometown. His partner turns out to be Nico who was with MI6 when he first had an inkling of this mission. They are looking for a missing model, Vanessa. Miles has never met her, but like most young men, knew of her. Nico shares some gut feelings and after research they realize that a redhead is taken every year. They are on the hunt for Vanessa and who is behind the kidnapping. Vanessa uses her wits and escapes. The story does not end there. Twists, turns, multiple criminals all keep you hanging on, catching your breath as the story unfolds. Dale Mayer brings awareness to human trafficking and handles it with a light touch. Thank you Dale Mayer and Booksprout for the arc. I freely volunteer my thoughts and opinions.

Fabulous!

The setting for this story may be London, but the monster kidnaping young redheads has been doing so all over into Europe and beyond.

Suspenseful twists and turns keep Miles & Nico on their toes as they quickly try to locate Vanessa. Vanessa is convinced that she needs to help herself if she wants to survive this monster and his horrible plans for her! She may be injured, but she is free of his clutches, for now.

Miles has admired and appreciated Vanessa from afar ever since she first graced the pages of a magazine that he saw. Their chemistry is building as they search for her elusive kidnapper.

I loved the build-up and the chase while knowing this kind of terror and these monsters are actually out there in the world. There are also heroes out there rescuing victims and stopping the evil.

Fast-paced, exciting and a very good story!

Miles is sent to England to run his own mission with an assist by Nico. Vanessa is the latest redhead to be kidnapped in the past 17 years. One is kidnapped each year and is never seen or heard from again. Vanessa manages to escape by climbing out a 3rd floor window and going down by the tied up sheet and then dropping to the ground onto the mattress she also threw out the window. Miles is now protecting Vanessa and trying to find her kidnapper and the people he is working for.

Although this is a stand alone it is enjoyed more if you read the series in order as each secondary character in the book then gets their own book in the future.

Former SEAL Miles Radford had cut his teeth on his first Mavericks mission while backing up Ryker. Now it was time to lead his own op that was taking him back to the UK, his country of birth. Ryker was running the electronic backup team and Nico, another buddy from Miles' Navy days, would be by his side.

The original mission is to rescue a kidnapped model but it turns out to be much more involved. Securing safety for the beautiful redheaded victim has Miles and the Mavericks on a fast track to learn why she was taken and find who was responsible. The growing attraction for Vanessa makes the outcome even more personal.

In true Dale Mayer style, this 7th book in the Mavericks series has all the action, suspense, surprises and romance that make it impossible to put down.

Miles is next up to lead a case and his is in England, which just happens to be where he is originally from. A redheaded model named Vanessa has been kidnapped, and there is a suspicion that a serial kidnapper is involved.

As Miles and Nico investigate Vanessa's kidnapping, they learn that the cctv cameras were offline at convenient times. Is it a coincidence or is someone temporarily turning the off?

I love that the females in this series are not helpless females but have a backbone and do things to try and make their situation better. There were some twists in this story that I did not see coming. Even though it is horrible to think this type of situation does happen in real life, the story was well-written and makes you want to keep reading until the mystery is solved.

It’s Miles turn to head up a mission. Miles needs to find and rescue a kidnapped model Vanessa. She is one of a pattern of women over the years that have been kidnapped and disappeared. Miles has always admired Vanessa and compared other women to her. Vanessa is hoping for rescue, but believes that she needs to find a way to escape. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. This is a very suspenseful book. I love this black-op series. I love that Miles has both a personal as well as a professional reason to rescue Vanessa. I love that Vanessa is resourceful in not waiting for a rescue. The romance mixed with the suspense adds to the story. I love this book.

Another great by this author and the another great instalment in the Mavericks series with Miles heading back to the U.K. to find a kidnapped model Victoria, a model who Miles has had a crush on. Victoria is determined to escape her kidnapper and plays it smart, outwitting the kidnapper. Miles now has the task of keeping her safe and trying to find a kidnapper who has evaded his presence and capture for many years before he gets to Victoria again.
A great read with great characters and suspense that keeps you flipping the pages. Victoria is smart, determined and down to earth and Miles is perfect for her. I love the little to no drama between them, the twists and turns and surprises throughout the read.

Miles is the next member of the Mavericks to take lead on an assignment. We met Miles who was Ryker's partner in the last book. He is called in to locate a red headed kidnap victim Vanessa who is a model and the 17th person to be taken over 17 years. Miles is a brilliant character who is intelligent with a take action personalit but also with a softer side. The plot is intriguing with plenty of moments that you have to stop and think about what's going on and who could be involved. It kept me turning the pages to find out who was behind it all with its twists and turns. A great story line and a wonderful read.

The Collection: Miles

Every book l read from Dale Mayer just keeps getting better and better.
Every man has his ideal woman and of course Miles has his, but when it's his turn to lead in a Mavericks case he's certainly challenged when it's in London and it's about his ideal woman, which means he's more invested in this case than normal, and that's saying something.
If you haven't read any Dale Mayer books boy have you been missing out.
I would Highly Recommend this book to Anyone and Everyone who wants and needs that special something called Romance and SO much Action you wont know yourself, So read on have a great time and if you are not already you will soon become a dedicated reader of Dale Mayer. 😁

My home Country is the setting for this story, not that far from me either. Lots of action, twists and turns that keep this being an excellent and fast paced read, you just have to keep turning the pages. I love the characters and how they work out all the clues between them, each seeing a slightly different angle or coming up with another thread to follow. The romance is like a slow burn in the background. It is interesting while at the same time is a terrifying idea that villains do actually do things like this, there are deranged people that think it's ok to do stuff along these lines. Compulsive reading.

Miles a new member of Mavericks is at a cross road and decides to head out on a new mission to save a lady who has gone missing.
Vanessa a model who was on her way to a job finds herself waking up in a strange place tired up and no clue as where she is, why she is there only to find out she is being given way to someone who wants her.
Vanessa gets away but this is the start of a journey for both herself and Miles.
Over the course of their investigation, they grow closer and start to enjoy the small things in life together trying to solve a case which covers the past 17 years. Fast pacy, twists and turns a very good read.

I loved the interaction between the characters and how the story had twists and turns that were unexpected. The story was true to life and kept you wondering what was going to happen next. The characters were so real and likable. The story had you rooting for the main characters and hoping that things went their way. I really love this series and all the action and suspense throughout the book and can't wait till the next book is released.

Miles next assignment is back home in London where his roots are from. Working a case that brings back memories of his past, he works to untangle a web of human trafficking. Vanessa has been kidnapped right off the street, but she is not the kind to just sit back and wait on her rescuer. She rescues herself and then meets Miles. Together, they work to bring down a serial killer. Very fast moving action with comedic scenes interspersed throughout the book. Loved the book and looking forward to the next one.

I love the Mavericks, a covert black ops team that steps up and gets the job done but may break all the rules and "Miles" is a perfect addition to this must-read series with complex characters and lots of action, suspense, a serial kidnapper, mystery, sizzling romance and so much more. I enjoyed the attraction and undeniable chemistry between Miles and Vanessa. I knew as soon as I started reading that I would not be able to put the book down until I read the last word. This is the perfect "escape" read from everyday stress for anyone who enjoys well-crafted military romance. A fast-paced suspense romance read, not my favorite but I love it nonetheless, and that's because of Miles, love his alpha personality, his protectiveness, his sweetness and his gentleness, bottom line is I love Miles.

As for the story, I love the suspense, the kidnapping it's pretty terrifying, love how the author got me always expecting something bad will happen in the next page, even though I felt it was a bit rushed at the end, the bad guy is doing it for seventeen years, to end just like that is kinda left me unsatisfied, I still enjoying it nonetheless especially those actions and suspense.

If you're looking for a fast-paced suspense read, this is the book for you.

This is book 7 in The Mavericks series and it features Miles and Vanessa. I love how quickly the Mavericks get assistance, answers and even food. She’s a model and his dream woman. How will she compare in real life to his fantasy? They have genuine affection for each other that grows slowly. I don’t feel a hot and heavy romance between them but I haven’t felt that in any of the books in the series. The intimacy was too far-fetched for all that they had been through and would have been better if implied instead of actually described. I enjoy the action, mystery and suspense in the story. The characters, especially the Mavericks, are fantastic!

This was an excellent read. Pretty realistic with what happens in this day and times. Miles is next up on a mission, he thought he'd have more time after giving Ryker help, but nope, Ryker calls and tells him he leaves now. Vanessa is kidnapped outside her apartment and her sister Ruby calls for help. The serial kidnapper is collecting redheads. But he has a helper, ex military. Things get really scary for her and when she thinks she's out of the woods, she isn't. Lot's of action, and some steam, but it doesn't take over the book. HEA.

A slow and easy read until 3/4 of the way through the story and then the story explodes. I didnt mean to make it sound boring because it isn;t. It starts off with a kidnapping, the description of how the victim is being held and the torment from the kidnapper. The blackop guys show up and investigate. I was intrigued with the plot and tried to guess the person behind everything but got it wrong several times. Great read.

I voluntarily reviewed an arc of this book.

This is the 7th book in The Mavericks series, it can be read as a standalone story, no cliffhangers, there is non-stop action and drama from page one until the end. This book is fast-paced, quick to read, well-written and the storyline is intriguing.
Miles is now on the case of a kidnapping and it seems as if it's a serial kidnapper. Miles is determined to save and keep Vanessa safe, she wiggled her way into his heart years ago in a modelling shoot and now she's on her way to winning him.
