This book was okay. I didn’t care about either first person character. The only thing that got me to the end of this book was the why of it all. Why was Nicky doing this? Why was she stalking Isabel?

We see things from both Nicky’s and Isabel’s point of view. And when things go missing from Isabel’s apartment, I wasn’t sure why the taking of the objects wasn’t shown since we learn later it was Nicky. For a time I considered that Iain was just messing with Isabel. Some of their motivations seemed questionable.

Nothing rang true with any of the characters, I’m sorry to say. I thought this could have been a great book but it all fell flat for me.

I received this as an ARC (Advanced Reader Copy) in return for an honest review. I thank NetGalley, the publisher and the author for allowing me to read this title.

Just meh. None of the characters are likeable or make sense, the narrative and the mystery do not really engage, I was glad to put it down.

OH MY WORD!...

*picks jaw up from the floor*
I think I shall need a large glass of wine to recover after finishing this whirlwind thriller this morning! It is unlike anything I’ve ever read but outstanding nonetheless.

You see Nikki suffers from a personality disorder and believes she is married to a well known actor called Iain Stewart, they are madly in love and happily married- or so Nikki believes in her reality... however Iain is actually happily engaged to Isabel, Nikki soon becomes nothing short of obsessed with Isabel and will stop at nothing to reclaim her ‘husband’ back- they belong together and nothing or no one can come between that according to Nikki.

A fantastic fast paced page turning thriller that I couldn’t put down. I purchased this book with my own money on a whim and I’m so pleased I did, it’s definitely going in my top books of 2020 pile.

Thoroughly Engaging and Creepy Psycho-Thriller

Well-written and captivating contemporary urban thriller in the Gone-Girl-On-A-Train sub-genre. The author skilfully weaves a web around perfect Isobel's London life, alternating her story with that of another woman, Nicky, who appears to be a few peanut butter sandwiches short of a picnic - odd in an increasingly unnerving way. The day-to-day lives of these two characters and their interactions with friends, boyfriends and colleagues, appear to be on a collision course that bodes no good. If this is Alison Percival's debut novel, then it's a startlingly brilliant effort, exuding a calm confidence in the story telling that speaks of savvy craftsmanship and experience. A most enjoyable read.

I loved this book. Who would not love Isabel, she's so sweet. Then you have Nicky the jilted ex looking for revenge. This book keeps you on the edge of your seat to see what Nicky is up to next. OH Lets not forget about Iain, he defiantly has his secrets, when will we get to the bottom of those?

This has a great mix of romance and suspense all wrapped in one book. If your looking for a little bit of both you have found it here!

A creepy, tense tale of a woman obsessed with her ex-boyfriend's new girlfriend. In my opinion, this could have definitely benefited from a little more character development as I didn't feel invested that much in either sweet, perfect Isobel or bitter, jilted Nicky, but that having been said, I did enjoy this contemporary thriller and finished it in one sitting on a rainy afternoon. This is one for fans of quick, easy read thrillers rather than books with tons of twists and development.

NOTE: I was provided with a free ARC copy of this book by NetGalley in exchange for an unbiased review.

A great book

I enjoyed it immensely. Having never had a stalker I would hate it, but I sin and Isobel has a stalker and a very dangerous one at that. You see she thinks she was married to Iain but it's all in her head and lo and behold anyone getting in the way will have to go. Isabel you're days are numbered. She stalks Isabel for a long time but when Isobel gets pregnant it's the final straw. Guess what happens next!. I really enjoyed it. My heart was in my mouth in the final chapters. Well done Alison a very good read📕👍

I thought that this book was entertaining, though a bit predictable. I wasn’t crazy about the characters neither the protagonists nor antagonists. The story itself was a bit disjointed as the end was sewn up neatly and promptly. It was a big buildup, with a quick tie up in the end. Thank you Netgalley for an eARC in exchange for an honest review.

Scarily good

A brilliant psychological thriller that will really shock and astounded the readers. A tale of two women both in love with the same man but this is far from a love story

Mixed feelings

I admire the author for writing the book. The subject text was good. But I am not sure she pulled it off to my satisfaction

No crazy twist

There is no crazy or shocking twist here. I would say this is more of a novel than a thriller but even so this book really kept my interest and I liked the characters as they were very well developed. I think the ending was good and don't feel like the author rushed to finish it. Overall, I quite enjoyed it. I love a good SWF story.

A creepy little story about an ex-girlfriend obsessed with the new girlfriend. And it doesn't stop there - the boyfriend has his own secrets going on! Lots of twisty things going on, still I didn't feel really connected to anyone in the story. Thank you to #Netgalley, the author and the publisher for the ARC of this book.

I read this book 2 months ago and I can't remember what it's about. I had to re-read the description again, and even that's fuzzy. But I gave it 4 stars "I really liked it" when I reached the end on Kindle and it asks for your rating. So that's my review. Good, but not memorable.
