Harley Lowell had a normal family until her father unexpectedly abandons her and her mother. With a crushed heart, she moves on with her life and focuses all of her attention on her college education. A year later, her life is turned upside down when her missing father shows up without explanation and forces her into the protective arms of three sexy, mysterious, and incredibly infuriating men. Unable to leave, Harley tries her best to avoid the men, but the longer she's with them, the harder she finds it hard to keep her distance. What happens when Harley finds out there's more to the three men, and her own family, than she bargained for? Will it bring Harley closer to the guys or will it drive her away? And let's not forget about her best friend, Rico. He's not about to sit back and let Harley deal with her new problems alone.
Pages: 127 My rating (stars): 3 Read other books from this author in the future: yes
Harley lives with her 3 years older best friend Rico and her mother and attends college. Her father disappeared a year ago in the middle of the night and left her and her mother without any income.
The story is quickly read, quite transparent and the only exciting thing happens at the end when Harley is kidnapped by her mother's kidnappers. The reading experience was okay.
Rewriting my review because, I originally rated it two stars and now that I re-read it, I am thinking I was in a book slump and wasn't able to pay attn to this book. So, here I am again. Four stars even though it was a tad slow it is still cute.
I started off with a sample and was sucked in to the story. The pacing was great and I really enjoyed the characters. There was kissing but the heavier romance was fade to black. I didn't mind that because not every book for me has to be racey. I really enjoyed the epilogue and can't wait to read more from these authors.
this has been on my tbr for years and i was looking for an easy book to read during finals season. i was also craving rh and the bodyguard trope. it was short...too short. the length was a serious detriment to things like character and plot development. it was a shifter rh romance, but i didn't feel at all connected to any of the characters or relationships, felt the romance was uninspiring and lacking, and the plot was just...not there. at first i was enjoying it but felt it was going to be 3 stars. by the end i was literally just reading so that i could finish and at least get credit towards my goodreads goal. really sad as i was looking forward to this one for years.
A solid read, I love how the mating "bond" draws them together and how it is explained here (the guys know it at once when they touch, and she has this urge to be around them and feels sick when she is away from them).
It starts out as a "kidnapped girl falls inlove with her kidnappers", but that really isn't the story. Their bond is so strong and the real plot is their relationship and the reason they kidnapped her in the first place (to protect her).
Amanda Perry is always a safe choice for a good book.
....is present and accounted for. Never knew she was part wolf, check. Issues with wolf parent because of it, check. Meets mates that know more about everything, check. Insta love with no real relationship building, check. World building handled via info dump rather than actual storytelling, check. I've added both authors to my "do not read" list, there are far better authors to spend money and time on.
Did not work for me. I didn't like any characters🤦🏻♀️ Harley, the FMC, could have been a brave, badass, and smarty girl but instead as soon as she met the guys she became a lame hormonal pudding🙄 Ready to forgive anything and anyone! The guys weren't very noticeable as well... Could have been good but I didn't connect at all with the story🤷🏻♀️
Paranormal. Rh. 3 wolf shifters. Clean. Hiding out from baddies. Super sweet and simple short story with a cool shifter concept. Actually wish it was longer but you get what you get. For a feel good quick read. Would recommend.
I liked this book it's simple but sweet. The only real problem is that I knew what was happening to Harley long before the author adds it to the story. No sex which it could have used, but we'll written.
I love this book so much and wish it wasn't just a standalone. I would love to learn more about Harley and the guys and their kids. But all great things must come to an end. Totally buying this now.
I love Amanda Perry’s books so as soon as I saw this I had to read it. Another great read. Now I am going to seek out AJ Anders’ books too! A lively romp. Fun characters, romance and action. Great for a lazy day read a thon.
This was kind of cute but rather juvenile and rough, too. It felt rushed toward the end, and we didn't really get a good feel for everyone's personalities. They kind of led together. Why people were suddenly able to get into impenetrable rooms was poorly explained.
