While he doesn't mention where it how to get the sensors used in the book, most do come in kits that have just about all the ones used in the book. You may have to buy a few discrete components all can be purchased in Amazon. The book does cover how the sensor works, wiring though he shows you the circuits there is often no explanation and you have to do all troubleshooting including the programming..

The book is good for reference and is a good addition to my library of Arduino material.
Great for those just getting started with the Arduino!
