Ending up in front of me is no one's idea of a good day.
I'm Evanee Sheperd, Acrasin General Hospital's Forensic Pathologist and suspected psychic. My life was finally heading in the right direction until the night I went to my co-worker's house party, and met him again. Erick Tenebris, local mystery man who left Murder Point Bay 12 years ago, only to return at my weakest hour. Now my life is in disarray, and my feelings for him aren't far behind that.
Finding out I'm part of a supernatural community is not what I wanted for my life; neither is autopsying the victims whose souls are fractured and partially drained by something I've never encountered before.
My world is in disarray and I'll be lucky enough to make it out of this mess with my sanity intact, let alone my life.
Over the years I have read more than my fair share of Paranormal Romance, however, the originality and attention-grabbing scenes in Moribund were completely new to me. I loved the forensic details, and the unique idea of making the female main character, Evanee, a Forensic Pathologist, who performs autopsies at the local morgue. The graphic imagery was captivating as well, but not as captivating as the male love interest, Erick. The love/hate verbal sparring relationship that Evanee and Erick shared, twined throughout the story, while they worked to solve the mystery behind the gruesome deaths within a small community.
It's no secret that I'm a fan of paranormal stories and this one, Moribund by T.S.Petersen is a treat and a fascinating read. I loved the quirky and feisty character Evanee, who is a Forensic Pathologist and suspected psychic. And Erick, her mysterious love interest isn't bad either.
I enjoyed the visual world building and plot. As this is book one in a series, I look forward to reading how these characters develop and will be diving into future books when they are available.
Thoroughly enjoyable - and at times delectably dark. And such a cool concept as well! The pacing and development were both a little different from what I'm used to, but it worked well here.
This novel is told in the first person and revolves around Evanee Sheperd, a forensic pathologist and the life she lives. She loves her work as she also has the ability to help the souls leave their bodies.
She thinks she is heading in the right direction until she is coerced by a friend to go to a party. That night changes everything for her for all the wrong reasons and catapults her into a world she has never imagined. She starts having insights into the supernatural and does not realise that things will become so dangerous for her. She also learns significant details about her abilities and who her ancestors are. Will she be able to get through this catastrophic situation and get out unscathed in the end?
I enjoyed the adventures of Evanee. T.S,Petersen weaved a dynamic tale that really makes you want to keep turning pages. If you like paranormal novels then get your teeth around this one. Recommended.
Absolutely loved this book! I found the plot entertaining and enlightening. The characters were interesting, and I loved how they intertwined with one another. I knew the main character was special, it was hinted at immediately.... didn’t predict the outcome which made me enjoy the book more. Can’t wait to read the next one.
An intriguing twist on the paranormal world. Love all the unique concepts and the vivid settings, but most of all I love the characters Evanee and Erick and their sassy banter. Can't wait to see how their relationship develops in the series.
It took me 2 days to read, it was one of those books that you just can't put down. I loved the relationship between Evanee and Erick the main characters but I also loved Tristian and Ellie. I would love it if this book was made into a movie! I'm now going to read the sequel :-)
