This book is designed to give you a Biblical framework for living in the Way of Jesus in modern life, and charting a pathway of personal formation that will lead to growth and maturity.
Jon Tyson is a pastor and church planter in New York City. Originally from Adelaide, Australia, Jon moved to the United States over two decades ago with a passion to seek and cultivate renewal in the Western Church. He is the author of Sacred Roots, A Creative Minority, and The Burden Is Light. He serves as the lead pastor of Church of the City New York.
The chapters on identity and community were real strong points of the book. Unfortunately, the definition of the gospel was very offputting and missed the historical point of the gospel, even going so far as to omit the phrase "according to the Scriptures" from their definition, which is crucial to explaining the identity of Jesus. Very approachable and helpful read in some respects, but the point on the gospel is hard to get past.
