I liked how thorough this book was on the many styles you can use in calligraphy. The author covers flourishes, bounce lettering, baselines, and so much more. Great resource and I refer to it often.

If you ever want to improve your handwriting OR to do the pretty calligraphy you see on everything lately, this book would be a great purchase.

It's a workbook, with professional instructions, examples & samples & practice space/lines on the left page & blank lines on the right side to practice on the spot. I love it even if I haven't done much YET.

About half-way back the book has artsy pages with lovely calligraphy examples and pages for the reader (novice calligrapher) to work on. Further back there are simple lined pages for more practice.

This was a fun book to work with. I appreciate that the author included a TON of lined practice pages, and included not only directions on how to make each letter, but also grayed-out practice letters to trace over. This is a one very modern style (with lots of loops and individuality in the letters and words) which is not quite my cup of tea. However, I did enjoy practicing the multiple flourishes and letterforms, and I do think this book is brilliantly put together.

To add to my bullet journal, I wanted to add a different type of calligraphy to my phrases. This was a practical book that gave plenty of practice and simple easy to follow instructions that I was able to incorporate right away into designs.

Good practice book for calligraphy and hand lettering. I’ve enjoyed the chance to practice. There are many practice pages and thirty projects in the book. It feels easy to use and not scary to take pen to paper.
