Super quick prequel for the Assassins Series that sets up Levi's and Abigail's story. It is a quick read so I don't really have much to say about it. It hooked me and I am looking forward to reading Assassins Mark.
This prequel is super short but it didn’t need to be any longer as I am hooked! The title says a lot but it definitely doesn’t talk about the grit and steel that is Levi or even hint at the love he has for his family. Loyalty, revenge and survival are going to push his boundaries to the limit and this was a delicious, tantalizing glimpse of what’s to come.
It’s going to be dark, folks, and it’s going to be good…. ~Diane, 4 stars
Levi Agozi and his brothers Remi and Eli work together as a team but tonight something feels different and Levi feels like they are being set up. When disaster strikes Levi vows to find out who is after him and his brothers. When Levi discovers who is behind it he figures out a way in although this time it involves someone innocent. This was a great beginning to the series and the novella packs just enough information to suck you in and start you on a great journey! I understood completely why Levi somewhat blamed himself for what occurred in the building and I was glad that he was able to get some information out about who was behind the attack. It is clear how attracted Levi is to Abigail but there is something going on with her and Derrick that isn’t right at all. I think the book leaves you ready for the next one and I know a bit about what’s coming but I am definitely curious to see how each of them reacts – Levi, Abigail and Derrick! By Rebecca
The Assassin is great intro into what I can tell will be an explosive series. I thoroughly enjoyed it and can't wait to read the first full-length book in the series.
The Assassin is a fantastic prequel to a new series, Assassins. Levi is seeking revenge on the person who put a hit out on him. Now his brother is lying in a hospital bed not knowing whether or not he will live or die. An eye for an eye.
Wow. This one introduces us to the assassins. We meet Levi. Couldn't put this one down. Loving the start of this series. I'm voluntarily leaving an honest review for a copy of the book via booksprout.
This is a novella that sets up the Assassins series and what a beginning it is. Levi and his brothers are meeting up with someone when it all goes wrong and Remi is hurt. No Levi is after those responsible and he doesn't care who gets in the way. While Levi is stalking the man responsible for hurting one of his brothers, he watched the man's daughter and thinks he can take her to get back at her father for the pain he has caused. Will Levi be able to resist Annie and continue with his plan? Will Remi pull through in the end? Can Annie help Levi get her father for going after him and his brothers? This book was too short for me but I am about to dive into The Assassins Mark because I have to know what happens next. If you love romantic suspense, then you need to read Ella Sheridan, she will not disappoint.
It was a nice short read, but I am not sure if I am willing to spend $2.99 on the next book. It is not on Kindle Unlimited. So, I will wait for a sale or for it to go on KU. I have had NO luck with books that I have bought lately so I am not likely to risk another $3 purchase.
I am honoured that I am reviewing this Assassin Series By Ella Sheridan. The Assassin series of One of the Amazing Series I read. It was just Simply Amazing I was so Hooked to my device that I read the whole series within four to five days.
The first book in the series is The Assassin which is a kind of Novella. This book is giving the short idea of what exactly is going to happen in the series and We get to know the characters of the books Levi, Eli, Remi and Abby. ARC was generously provided for an honest review.
The Assassin by Ella Sheridan is book One in the Assassins Series. This book introduces us to Levi who is the oldest brother along with Remi, Eli. Remi ends up getting hurt in the book that sets Levi go into revenge mode that leads him to Derrick Roslyn. To get to Derrick, Levi starts to watch his daughter Abigail who will be his pawn. This book ends to set us up for the next installment in Levi and Abigail's story.
This was my first Ella Sheridan's book, and won't be my last! I love her writing! And OMG!! I love this story! This short novella is a great introduction to this new Series, The Assassins, a Romantic Suspense. I love the characters, the story, and the brotherhood. Levi, the older brother, is very protective with his brothers, Remi and Eli. The storyline is suspenseful, fast-paced, and action packed. Now, I can't wait to read the next book in the Series. I totally recommend it!
What a great prequel to the Assassins' series! This very short novella introduces Levi, an assassin involved in a meet up that goes wrong. In just those few short chapters, the author captured my attention and kept me turning page after page. I loved Levi and I enjoyed witnessing the fierce love that he has for his brothers and as well as seeing the steps that he is starting to take to get revenge. I am really looking forward to this series and seeing where the author takes us.
Eh, what to say write. Felt like reading smt with an assassin. A cool one. Who kills without remorse. But is still "good" Yadda yadda ~ (Guess I was still reminiscing about the kdrama "Kill It", loved that one even with all it's flaws, but that ending...spoilerspoilernotgonnasay *starts sobbing out of frustration and heartbreak*)
Found The Assassin. Seemed promising. From blurb alone knew this will be more like a comedy to me tad of an overachiever, because: "I’m a cold-blooded killerwith no room in my heart for anyone but the brothers I raised on the streets. In the world I’ve created, there’s only one rule: Don’t harm the innocent. And I’m about to break it. With her."
Pffffft. Yeaaaaaah.
Pretty much tells you what the book is like: ♥ Your regular assassin romance ♥♥♥ (well, the next book will be ;p) thou the girl wasn't all gunsguns and the assassin didn't hide his face, but you get the gist
Oh well, for a mediocre-there-are-thousand-more-of-its-kind read it did...actually fine. 2* For the preview did get me to read the next book.
#0.5 had the assassin's POV prior to the events in book #1 and what in fact lead to #1. I guess even for a preview I had hoped for something...brilliant and this was not it. Our assassin was rather...predictable. So cue disappointment.
If you go in without expectations, it'll be ok.
Something to pass time with for a short while with a dash of bullets & blood, ya know - regular assassin stuff ;D

I’m going to have to be a bit vague because I don’t want to give away too many details or spoil this or the series, BUT I will give you a few guiding details. We begin The Assassin with the brothers Agozi (Levi, Remi, and Eli) staking out a meetup tied to their assassin-for-hire business. Big brother Levi (who is the hero of Assassin’s Mark and Assassin’s Prey) has a feeling something is not right, which leads to two cause-and-effect events that are central to the plot of Assassin’s Mark. Levi, angered by the outcome of the meetup, begins to study how to bring the person behind the family’s recent misfortune. While studying his next mark, he finds what he believes to be the lynch pin to his plan: innocent little Abigail Roslyn.
Abby’s connection could cause irreversible calamity for that person and bring down an empire, but will Levi’s decision to involve Abby break the one unbreakable commandment his business and lust for vengeance is built upon? And what happens when a mark becomes something more?
Be warned: There are acts of violence, vengeance, and foul language involved as well as a small spot of voyeurism. Readers sensitive to these might want to forgo this one along with the series.
I struggle with telling you to read this first for the simple fact it will change how you view Levi Agozi and his intentions 🤔 I read the series before reading this, so it tied together several things for me and gave me the feels when certain little moments in TA answer questions I didn’t realize I had in the other books. However, reading the series before this made the series feel darker to me, which I loooooooooved 😈🔥 So, here is my recommendation: if you love dark romantic suspense, wait to read this one, but go ahead and download it for later (it’s FREE) 🛑. You’ll understand what I mean once you read the series. If you like to know a character’s motivations and that drives you as a reader, I’m giving you all the green light 👍🚥
This is the prequel to The Assassin's Mark, and as such is not a standalone book. It sets up the conflict and characters for that story, starting us at the very beginning and giving an amazing introduction to the Agozi brothers. It's nearly impossible to write a cold-blooded assassin for hire as a sympathetic hero, but this author manages to infuse Levi with just enough of a code of honor and a heartbreaking backstory to make us believe that deep down he's really one of the good guys.
The conflict stems from an assignment that goes horribly wrong, leading Levi to Abby at the very end of this prequel. We immediately understand Abby's predicament and know that despite the plans he has for her, Levi can be trusted to act in her best interests. It's a thoroughly captivating setup, and I am looking forward to reading the rest of their story. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
I had been wanting to read this series since the first full-length book released in June! I then had Kindle Unlimited for three months, so I decided to read a bunch of books on KU and some ARCs before finally starting this series! This novella was free and is short, but it introduced the main male character, Levi, and had a bit of action in it! The plot also started the story off and I can't wait to see what's going to happen next! I would recommend reading this novella before the full-length books because it does add a lot and introduces you to the world of the male character! It also set things up nicely for the first book, which I now can't wait to read and I'll definitely be making it my next read! The cover is also seriously hot and looks perfect for the novella! I love it a lot!
Ella Sheridan is new to me, but not for long. The cover and the title of this book got my immediate attention. As I started delving into this story, it grabbed me by the throat and would not let me breathe. My kryptonite is dangerous alpha men, and if he has brothers, I am definitely hooked.
Levi Agozi is the eldest to his brothers Remi and Eli. They are all hired assassins. Levi is very protective of his brothers, they are all he has in the world. When someone hurts or threatens them, he is like a beast unchained.
This prequel already has me holding my breath waiting for the next book in this series.
The assassin is the prequel to the ‘’assassin’’ series. This story is short, fast paced and an intriguing start to this series. I read this book in one sitting and was satisfied throughout. I found the writing style easy to follow, the characters intriguing and the story interesting. I cannot wait to read the next book in this series. Levi and his two brothers are a band of assassins. When someone comes after Levi and his brothers, Levi is determined to get his revenge. I cannot wait to read what happens next.
Wow! What a way to start a series. Suspenseful, hot, intrigue...this sets up the Agozi brothers story, Levi, the oldest brother who takes his role seriously, Remi, middle child, and Eli youngest brother, who is tech savvy and seems to have a soft heart. When something happens to hurt a member of his family, Levi is adament to make the person responsible pay. This ends in a cliff hanger. It's a very short read to get the juices flowing!
Levi's past has made an deadly appearance but this is one assassin they should not have crossed. He's on a mission to annihilate the man who went after him and his brothers. Abigail is the daughter of a crooked politician and the perfect pawn in Levi's plan. Ella Sheridan has more than whetted my imagination on where this series will go and how it will effect the lives of these two characters. This ends in a screaming out loud cliffy that has me one -clicking the next book.
The Assassin is a super short prequel to Levi & Abigail's story, and why it was to happen. Thankfully, I already had The Assassin's Mark, or I would have been screaming to be honest, as this is just a teeny tiny morsel of what's to come. it's basically a tease of the backstory of why Levi takes Abby. It's dark & gritty, so yeah, the series is going to be insane, and I'm totally here for it! And trust me, you want to be as well! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
This is the 4th book I've read written by Ella Sheridan; she has done a great job at writing a good short story; I can’t wait to read more of her books.
The story line caught my attention at the very beginning and kept me interested throughout the entire book.
I loved the chemistry between the characters.
I received a free copy of this book via booksprout and I’m voluntarily leaving a review.
Short story and the start to the Assassin series. Levi and his brothers meet with someone but it is a setup. His brother Remi gets hurt. Now Levi is out for revenge. When he is tracking the man responsible, he sees the man's daughter and thinks he can use her to get his revenge. This story covers the brothers and lays the background for the rest in this series. Great start to this series. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This story is very exciting. I had to read the entire book at once although it was almost short enough to be a novella. As all books these days this is only the first part of the story. You have to buy the next one to see what happens. No conclusions are made, no story line wrapped up. I would love to read the entire series not sure I will as I'm sure each book is probably like the first and only a short part of the story.
