How do you beat an enemy that can alter reality? You don't. Dazai does. I have a feeling the next few volumes are gonna be even better than the 5 stars I'm allotted. This arc is perfect.

I never thought I'd be so glad to see Chuuya. More to the point, it's good that Kenji and Rampo have been getting to have a larger role in this story arc; they've been pretty underused in the series as a whole.

"Yours ideals are as big and lofty as a hot hair ballon. But at some point a balloon will run out out of fuel and fall from the earth".

Vale. El nivel de este tomo sigue bastante interesante y creo que estoy llegando a donde me quedé la última vez que lo leí. Lo que no recordaba es que estuviese tan intrigante. Seguimos sin prisa pero sin pausa.

I truly have no words...

There’s so much going on in this...it’s just one thing after the other...but at least Chuuya’s back? I don’t even know how to process any of this...

The Hunting Dogs are interesting, I guess. I don’t like the girl’s (forgot her name) over all energy, though, and I don’t like Fukuchi either. Tetchou just seems like an evil Kunikida. Jouno’s actually interesting, though.

Overall, my reaction is just [incoherent whisper-screaming].

The volume: death, blood, violence, hopelessness
The postscript: Gin suggesting gardening to Akutagawa

First there's episode 10 of Wan from yesterday...and now this...I can't deal with this...

These characters are all so young...

"Everywhere the righteous become the enemy"

This volume ARGHHHHH my anger and sadness is indescribable.

I keep thinking about a few things like:
- Kunikida's ideals and how he really feels about it.
- Kenji's feelings (f you hunting dogs for hurting him)
- Fukuzawa-sensei's sacrifice.... (I'm hurting inside..)
- The fact that the ministry didn't even investigate the truth and pin everything on the Armed Detective Agency (they're dumb, obviously)
- Are the hunting dogs considered as 'good side'? What's the different between them and the villains if they use violence and doesn't even seek the truth instead of blindly hurting the so-called 'criminals'?
- What is good or bad? How do we define those two? As I read this volume, I think ppl often decide good and bad based on their own convenience. If other ppl commit crimes, it's considered bad, evil. But if it's you yourself that commit it, it's no longer bad or wrong. Wow... so messed up...

What scared me the most in this volume is the fact that the Hunting Dogs is so powerful. Their abilities... URGHHHHH I remember reading this for the first time and I JUST FREAKING UGLY CRIED FOR A WEEK THINKING ABOUT WHAT HAS HAPPENED.

I also want to say:-
Yokohama is safe in the hand of the three organisation: Special Division, ADA, Port Mafia. It won't change and it will remain like that. That's why I believe in them.

Long live, Armed Detective Agency.

Chapters 59~63 : Hunting Dogs Arc
After the ADA were framed as terrorists, the top military unit "The Hunting Dogs" was dispatched to pursue them. To say this arc is keeping me on the edge of my seat is an understatement.

Some Literary References about The Hunting Dogs :
Captain :
Fukuchi Ōchi
Born Fukuchi Gen'ichirō, critic and author (1841-1906).
Ability : Mirror Lion , a Kabuki play premiered in 1863. Story of a young lady-in-waiting who, while practicing a lion dance in time for the New Year celebrations, became strangely engrossed in the task until the spirit of a lion entered into her and gained control over her limbs.

Vice captain : Ōkura Teruko
Born Yoshiko Mizume, novelist (1886-1960), nicknamed the Japanese Christie by Edogawa Ranpo.
Ability : Gasp of the Soul (魂の喘ぎ, Tamashī no Aegi) , a mystery novel published in 1947. The story tells the mysterious events in an auction of a certain clan's heirloom, a deceased mother's final letter that states how she had been making artificial bodies to maintain her youthful appearance until her death, and the disappearance of the clan's sole heir.

3rd Member : Jōno Saigiku
Born Jōno Denpei, playwright, novelist, politician and journalist (1832-1902).
Ability : Priceless Tears (千金の涙, Senkin no Namida) , a Kabuki play published in 1889. Based on a real-life anecdote of a French queen who pardoned a famous actress and gave her 120,000 francs. With the money the actress chased and cried bitter tears yearning after her lover.

4th Member : Suehiro Tetchō
Born of samurai lineage, politician, novelist, and journalist (1849-1896).
Ability : Plum Blossoms in Snow (政治小説・雪中梅, Seijishōsetsu: Setchūbai) , a political proto-science novel written in 1886 that influenced the novel Future of a New China by Liang Qichao.

5th Member : Unknown, currently infiltrating an other organisation.

“My name is Kunikida Doppo! My ideals will never fall! They will continue to soar using my very life as fuel!”

This volume really is the epitome of despair and anxiety mixed so well that it set my heart racing.

Really, the way that Asagiri has been slowly and carefully building up towards this point feels so incredibly rewarding at the same time that it adds so many layers of depth and complexity to the whole conflict; as much because of the characters as for the world implications to it all.

Though there isn't a great deal of action, per se, we have so much happening that I could hardly wrap my mind around it all at points.

We also get some new characters, The Hunting Dogs, that complicate things further, as if we needed it, but as they stand as a, sort of, antithesis to the Agency is interesting to see where they are going... though I cannot say we've had enough material to understand them, not really, or like them. However, they add to the story and that is enough for now.

As for everything else, well, things are so convoluted that I cannot see how we're gonna get out of it, for once, and the immense level of stakes make for a really engaging and nerve-wracking experience.

“Back at my village we once lost an orchard we’d been growing for ten years to a storm. We’d never harvested any fruit from it, not even once […] So what do you think we did? Well, we all stood there dumbfounded at first, but then we smiled and started planting some more seedlings. We got ready to redo the past ten years! A terrible storm came and wrecked havoc on the Agency but that’s all right. A disastrous storm, after all, is the same thing as blessed rain […] Let’s trudge past the storm and through the night. ‘Cos in the end we can’t stop living atop this spinning rock we call Earth.”

Not to offend anyone or anything but as we dived deeper to the story, I just realized this manga gets very problematic. The plot is problematic. The author kept introducing us characters and bringing in more conflict instead of actually resolving it. Of course there are times that it did get resolved but after that it gets worse. It seems like there's no progress, I thought there will be more of a back story and conquering each other's demons, see more of the port mafia and what drove those people to join. But there's nothing

It was like a game of chess yet no moves were taken. There are moments that I enjoyed this, I laughed and had my two brows raising for the reason of its morbidity. I don't want to drop this since I have high hopes for this manga.

As of now, I am waiting for more development.

AHHHHH. What, literally what. I can't believe Kunikida's death, why? Just why? And that ending, wow. I didn't expect anything less from Dazai. I loved the whole visualization of the chess board with Dazai and Fyodor being the queens on their respective sides. [Queens are the most powerful pieces in a chess game]. As the whole thing of Mori and the President making a deal to allow one member to go to the Port Mafia was great. It created so much tension and I have my predictions as to who they would chose, probably Dazai. And Chuuya was just amazing as always. The whole thing with Yosano being the Angel of Death is intriguing and I think it might relate to her ties with the Port Mafia way back when. Wow, just wow.

Why is it that every comfort manga I start - to balance out the depression and pain left behind by AoT - it suddenly takes an unexpectedly dark turn? And it also seemingly sets out to rip at my fragile heart even more?

P.S. I swear, if I will go on a motherfucking murder spree!

So much action going on, the Hunting Dogs are brutal, but it was all worth it to see my man Chuuya Nakahara make an awesome reappearance!

Once more, what the hell was that ending?! I feel like the ADA are in more trouble than anticipated.
