Ghost Detective Jude Byrne is missing the excitement of the high-profile investigations he and his partner have been handling. Every time the bell jingles over the shop door, he finds himself hoping it’s their next big case. Jude gets his wish and then some when Anson Hollister, curator of the Salem Witch House, walks into West Side Magick with a frightening story to tell. He’s been visited by the spirit of Thatcher Webb, the judge who’d presided over the Salem Witch Trials, sentencing nineteen innocent women to hang.
Psychic Copeland Forbes is enjoying the slower pace of life with Jude. Back from vacation and settled into their new house, he’s content working cases that don’t make him want to sleep with the lights on. Agreeing to take Anson’s case, Cope becomes violently ill on a trip to investigate The Witch House, making him fear there is something more sinister involved rather than the simple haunting Anson described.
With no sign of Thatcher Webb’s spirit, the investigation is at a near standstill, until warlock Callum Churchill, who’s ancestor, Abigail, was one of Thatcher Webb’s victims, disappears on a visit to The Witch House. Can Jude and Cope find the missing witch and put a stop to the diabolical goings on or will they become the next spirits haunting the ghost house?
Sick of the slogging rat-race of her 9-5 job, Pandora Pine put pen to paper (literally!) to make her ambition of becoming a romance novelist a reality. She cut her teeth in the dog-eat-dog world of fanfiction, still dreaming of the day when she would be a published author. She lives in Massachusetts with her blabbermouth muse who’ s a fan of middle of the night plot twists.
In her spare time, Pandora fancies herself an amateur nature photographer. She enjoys mucking around in swamps, hiking through the woods and crawling around on her hands and knees in her backyard seeking out the perfect shot. Pandora is a fan of roadside seafood shacks and always thinks Mexican food is a good idea at the time.
Some of Pandora’s favorite things are chocolate, writing longhand with purple pens and handsome men falling in love with each other.
Don't miss Pandora’s seductive new novel coming soon to an e-reader near you.
another good edition in this series. Cope and Jude are a good couple and now I am looking forward to some more couples :) this story was also well done and very interesting. there are always some new facts, which make discovering the stories even more fun.
but I also have to read more Ten and Ronan books ... and although I like both series, I think I need a mini-break before starting the next one
The lesson to be learned from this book? Be careful what you ask for... poor Jude, I think he learned his lesson! *grin*
Interesting plot and the whole gang was there! Still not sure why this series is my least favorite of the three, but the stories are always entertaining and we get to see the babies... so it's all good! :D
•*´¨)✯ ¸.•*¨) ✮ (¸.•´4.5 stars - Pandora Pine warned: Be careful what you witch for.
He was more convinced now, after speaking with Anson Hollister, that the investigation was going to knock his socks off. ~Jude
Bored and in need of some excitement since the Key West case, Jude needed something to bite his teeth on. Hearing that there may be a case at the "Witch House", was like handing sweets to babies. What he didn't expect were malicious invisible forces who was determined to cause him people close to his heart. He'd asked for a case with more excitement. He'd gotten his wish and then some. But all that needed to be put to bed if Jude was going to win this round.
Join the team in this fourth installment of Haunted Souls as Cope and Jude fight tooth and nail to save themselves and others from the haunting of the Witch House. There are surprises and more magic to be held. Plus, as always, Pandora drops another love match in the works. Guess who's up for some loving?
I voluntarily and honestly reviewed this book without bias or persuasion from the author.
I’m not sure how Pine keeps turning out such consistently high level, exciting, engaging work on such a fast timetable but she does it! Ghost House is just the most recent example.
The story is emotional, engaging, intriguing and filled with themes of love, protection and chosen family. The overall theme is what we will do for the ones we love in conjunction with honesty and our intentions. It is perfectly executed.
Our favorite characters are here though the story centers on Jude and Cope. It is very much about Jude becoming the man he was intended to be.
My only complaint, and it’s certainly minor, is the absence of Luca. I love Cisco and Luca and he gets left out of the other books consistently, mostly because of the daytime/sun thing. But this book takes place mostly at night, Cisco gets called in and they certainly can use Luca’s vampire strength. Even in the reference to the family they’ve built where they refer to witches, psychics, a Phoenix and even a gargoyle. Needed to include a vampire there too! So I guess my complaint comes down to I love this world that Pine has created so much, and these characters, that I want to see all of them, all the time!
If you haven’t already, jump on the Cold Case universe bandwagon and read ALL the books, including spin offs, and read them in order to best appreciate the characters and their growth.
I loved it. I absolutely love Jude and Cope, and all of the other characters in these series. We have Anston, who I did not like in the beginning. He rubbed me the wrong way and his constant comments on hating witches pissed me off. He is the curator of The Witch House which was owned by Thomas Webb who had 19 women killed as alleged witches. He was a very bad man. Turns out he and his family went through some trying times. His wife had 6 miscarriages before they had their first live birth. I did feel sorry for her no mother should have to go through that. But then she had 6 live children. Unfortunately they all died before their time. Fast forward to the present and something is happening at the house that Anston can not explain. He meets with Jude, and totally snubs Cope, maybe that is why I really couldn’t stand him, looking for his help to figure out what is going on. Turns out, there are dark forces at work here and it’s going to take everyone to put a stop to it. Old stories come to light, new romance starts to bloom, hearts/souls learn to heal and a surprise visit brought me to tears. As always, Ms Pine does an amazing job keeping you glued to your e-reader and on the edge of your seat. I can not recommend her books strongly enough!
ARC graciously provided by the author in exchange for an honest review.
Such a great series. I love how we are finally seeing Jude thaw a bit and find true happiness. He's been trying to find his place for years and he finally found it with Ronan and crew, and now with Cope, too. Jude was getting antsy with "boring" cases, and he learned to watch what you wish for. The storyline was really interesting, and I loved (like I always do) watching the family all work together. A bit spooky, but fun none the less. I'm interested in seeing what happens next with Callum. I am really liking him as another character in this family group.
This is another exciting, emotional, irresistible story starring my favorite PI and his boo, Jude and Cope. Guys, Jude has come SO FAR! I love how with each book he shows more and more just how remarkable he is, and how much he has grown since he first appeared in the CCP series. His connection with Cope is hot as ever, stronger every day, and is just simply beautiful. Jude and Cope are both settling in nicely in Salem and with their friends (their family!!), and WOLF. Omgomgomg. That’s all I’m going to say about that. Trust me, read this!!
The story revolving around the Witch House and the Salem Witches is done so incredibly well here. I’m extremely familiar with the Witch House, considering I live about ten minutes from it, and I had so much fun seeing it brought to life so vividly (and dangerously, of course) by Pandora Pine in this book. The history of Salem is allowed to shine through the rest of the elements of the story, and that is one of my favorite things about this book. Pandora’s talent shines again in this one in the way she can weave a gripping plot starring these characters we all love around real historical events set in real places, and does it so successfully. There is always such heart and emotion woven in, too, mixed with ghosts and danger and the humor and sense of family that seem to be a signature of this Pandoraverse (thank goodness). And the result is always a story that is almost impossible to put down and even harder to forget.
Wow! I swear this series is just getting better book by book! Mystery, danger, love, fear, hope and family all play a big role in Ghost House as we follow Jude and Copeland on their first big case since returning from their holiday. The goings on in the Salem witch House bring the duo in to help Anson, witch hater, and the haunting that he experienced. Neither man could have expected what happens once they become involved and how it puts Copeland and their other witch friends in danger. This brings around Jude protective side which is amazing to read considering how far his character has come. He and Copeland have an wonderful relationship now, personal and working, and it's an entertaining read, especially when you bring in the whole of the family from West Side Magick, Aurora's shop and the local police force. I love how everyone is linked and included and you can feel the love they all have for each other from the authors writing. Such an engaging read with several tense moments with lives on the line, a big mystery to solve and the ever growing relationship between Jude and Cope. I may have had a happy tear towards the end.....! Such a fantastic series and this is the best addition to it. Looking forward to the next and the possibility of a new character coming soon! I received an ARC and am happily giving a review.
Jude and Cope definitely don’t disappoint in Pandora Pine’s latest! If you haven’t read the Cold Case Psychic series/spin-offs & the first Haunted Souls books, you really need to. But if you have just know that you’re getting another amazing installment of our favorite paranormally talented friends and family!
One of the things I’ve enjoyed the most about all of the Haunted Souls is Jude’s continued maturity and growth as well as the development of Jude and Cope’s relationship. Yes, Jude is still the loud, rich personality we know and love but he’s also a lot more including a baby cuddler & fierce protector. Cope continues to show different layers as well and I absolutely love them together. I am excited to see their future happen.
This story focuses more on the witchy aspects and some extra-frightening events and antagonists. I really enjoyed the story and was drawn right into the plot. We got a few questions answered and some hints of future fun as well. And as always the writing and balance is impeccable.
I definitely recommend this book & series (and CCP). Hopefully we won’t wait to long for what’s next!!
This is my favorite Haunted Souls book so far! Jude and Cope are falling more and more in love, and Jude is growing so much. We meet Anson Hollister in this book, who hates witches as much as Jude used to. This gives Jude the chance to recall his old feelings and how different he feels today, as he tries to help Anson recognize the flaws in his thinking. Meanwhile, there is a strong and evil spirit trying to kill the witches of Salem, including Cope. Jude will not let that happen. There are goosebump-causing scenes here that are intense and creepy, but there are also so many wonderful moments between Cope and Jude. Their love makes me happy. We also get more time with the chosen family who mean so much to Jude and Cope, and we are reminded just how important they all are to each other. Jude gets some special time with Ronan and Everly, which is always a good thing. I love all the main people in this world, and I'm so glad to see Jude becoming someone who wants stability and family. He deserves happiness and love, and Copeland is the perfect man for him. I recommend this story, this series, and all the books about these amazing people of Salem. Highly recommended!
This is another amazing book in the Haunted Souls series and I love everything about it. I was fully engaged from the very first page and I could not put it down. It is well written, hilarious, sexy, emotional, has an intriguing mystery, some scary ghosts, sweet kids, an amazing group of supportive friends and family, a lot of interesting history and some surprising twists. Jude and Cope are perfect for each other and I love how their relationship is evolving. I also love how Jude has changed in so many ways since we first met him in the Cold Case Psychic series and how accepting he is of his friend's gifts. They are facing a huge challenge as they try to find out what is happening at The Witch House and will need the help of all of their friends if they are going to succeed. As always it is wonderful to see all of the characters from previous books and some of what the future has in store for Jude and Cope. The ending is perfect and I can't wait to read the next book in this exciting series.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.
A dynamic partnership and an unexpected dark force create an intriguing story. I really am drawn to this interesting partnership of Jude and Cope. They are so different, yet so connected. They differences strengthen them and their interactions often make me grin. They are complex and dynamic characters that i cannot get enough of. The darkness of this book is well done and so fit with the plot line. I enjoyed watching a new pairing.
The writing flowed and the story-line was really creative and so well written. I love the supporting cast of characters, they make the story stronger and so much more colorful. I love how they all bring their talents together to find a way to overcome the challenges. These guys are so wonderfully steamy together and yet they can talk and work together, makes just the total fantasy package.
This is the fourth book in the Haunted Souls series, and i recommend reading it in as part of the series. There are many references to previous events and those interactions impact how this story plays out.
Another Excellent Entry! In this latest installment of the Copeland Forbes/ Jude Byrne centric Ghost Detective spinoff series from Pandora Pine's long running (and continuing) Cold Case Psychic series, Cope and Jude have returned from their trip to Key West (from book 3) and are suddenly thrust into a mystery involving one of Salem's iconic witch locations - The Witch House. Continuing the slow burn style of this particular series, Cope and Jude's relationship continues to progress, though still not at the rate many romance readers might prefer but which works well in the context of these characters and stories. Once again, characters from the general world the spinoff series exists in continue to make appearances and while these appearances could be considered spoilers for their books, said appearances serve the story here and don't cause undue confusion - a particularly strong skill of Pine's. As usual, very much recommended and I'm very much looking forward to the next entry in this series.
Jude and Cope are back and hot on the trail of another ghost mystery. This time our dynamic ghost hunting duo are a centuries old mystery that takes us back to one of the more heinous times in United States history. The Salem Witch Trials are re-visited and a side character we previously met plays a starring role. Buckle your seatbelts and grab the oh sh!t handle and hang on for the ride. The book also has pops of humor and generous cameo appearances by all the family members in the Cold Case Psychic series and its spin offs. We are also introduced to a new character that I have a feeling will spark another spinoff of the Cold Case Psychic series. Congratulations Pandora Pine, as much as I love Ronan and Ten, Jude is my favorite!
I'm really loving this Cold case psychic spin-off series featuring Jude Byrne and his partner Copeland Forbes. This latest adventure did not disappoint with ghostly happenings at The Witch House in Salem, MA. When the team are contacted by the curator of the museum, the witches in the family are all in danger, especially Callum Churchill. Will Jude, Cope, and their friends prevail in the face of a malevolent force that has been around since the time of the witch trials? Highly recommended read for all lovers of paranormal thrillers and MM Romance.
Jude and Copeland are up to their elbows in evil spirits and black magic. Delving into the history of the Salem witch trials, the author has taken the murders of the nineteen women during the Salem witch hunt. The nice thing about spinoffs of the Dead Files is that the same family of characters are in the story so you don't have to miss your favorite characters. This story takes us into the home of Judge thatcher Webb who laid down the judgments of the witches on trial. Cope has been put in dangerous peril as has Callum Churchill and Aurora. An excellent book with danger, suspense and tons of love. good read.
Jude and Cope are back from their holidays and to Jude's mind everything is a bit slow and boring, he starts wishing that they had a case with a bit of excitement to it. You know what they say " careful what you wish for " and that is exactly what happens when Anson the curator of the Witch house comes asking for help with a haunting.
This book is as good as all the others with the whole family involved and things get close to ending badly, but Jude saves the day. This is another very good story from this accomplished author. Highly recommend this series.
Paranormal dual point of view Should be read after others in series and Black Cat Inn story
Cope and Jude help out the curator of Thatcher Webb’s house when the old judge appears to be hunting witches in contemporary times.
I found myself getting upset in this book because the characters kept saying they had never experienced x and yet I could remember them going through it in a previous book. I also didn’t feel that this story advanced their relationship at all. It gave us better insight into Callum but even he and Anson’s development seemed light. I think other books in the series have been better.
i have been tearing through this series. I love each and everyone of these characters and i love the mystery/hauntings. What I love most is how Cope and Jude are developing their partnership. I have been trying to read these in chronological order across the three interconnected series and it's been an issue at times because i just want to jump straight to the next Jude and Cope book! But, i really do recommend reading them chronologically, if you don't some things might be spoiled for the other books. They are really closely related. I like seeing my other favorites in each book but with the focus shifting between characters.
Ghost Detective Jude Byrne is bored out of his mind, he needs something to sink his teeth into. What he gets is a case that threatens to destroy his life.
Judge Thatcher Webb presided over the Salem Witch Trials and it appears he's not finished hunting witches. When Cope and Callum Churchill are threatened and the story becomes dark and twisted even the power of Jude's love may not to enough to save the day.
Another excellent Free KU story featuring amazing characters, a terrifying plot, an ending you won't see coming, and even the return of Abigail Churchill.

Anson has asked Jude and Cope to help him with the ghost of Thatcher Webb. He is the man that killed the innocent woman of witchcraft during the trials. The bring in Callum who is a witch and great nephew of Abigail who was the one that actually was a witch hung in the trials. Webb is still causing problems and going after Salem Witches. When everyone comes together to stop Webb, Callum, Cope and Aurora lives are threatened. Jude and the others do whatever it takes to save them along with some of our family ghosts. A really great series.
After the last two encounters, Jude is looking for an exciting case, while Cope would just like to settle in some easy calm ones. So when Anson Hollister the curator the Salem Witch House, comes calling because he saw the spirit of Thatcher Webb, warning him of witches, its time to investigate. Thatcher Webb is the magistrate who sentenced all 19 witches to hang in the Salem Witch Trials. When Cope and Jude go to investigate, and gets seriously ill, there's no choice, time to assemble the AVENGERS....um, er, the team, anyway, and get some answers.
Ghost House is the fourth book in the Haunted Souls series by Pandora Pine. Another haunting with another mystery to solve. Luckily Jude, Copeland and their friends are on the case. These books just get better and better. Well written, interesting storyline and loveable characters fill this book that will grab you and hold you tight to the page. Sweet, funny, fun, angsty, mysterious, paranormal and perfect! Loved it!!
Another spectacular story in this series. I love that we get to see the relationship between Jude and Copeland as it flourishes and progresses but at the same time we get a new mystery to solve. It's incredible to see just how much Jude has grown and how far he's come. Seeing the rest of gang is always such a treat! I I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
I liked this story. I liked the opening of the story and the character Anson's point of view. I like how the author put the reader right into his mind. I enjoyed this story because it brought me back into a series that has been really interesting. I received this as an arc and I freely left this review
Love love love! It’s another fun mystery with our favorite ghost hunters! Salem witches and judges, baby ghosts, mind control, witch protectors and so much more in this book.
It’s so fun to see Jude and Cope grow in their relationship and ,in turn, how that makes Jude grow in all of his other relationships!
I really enjoyed Ghost House and much preferred it to the previous book. The thing that stopped me from giving it 5 stars was all the errors!! Here for her and were for we're were just a couple of examples. That said, the Haunted Souls/Cold Case Psychic/ Cold Case Psychic Spin Offs is a universe I'm definitely addicted to at the moment!!
I can never give these books five stars because of the ridiculously long sex scenes. This one however, was close. I'm glad I didn't read this at night, this one was scarier than the others. These characters are awesome, and it's A beautiful thing to see the family they all are. This story kept me on the edge of my seat from beginning to end!
Oh Pandora you have done it again. Given us a brilliant, suspense filled story with all of our favourite characters. And with each book, I love Jude just a little bit more. Looking forward to more.
