Stanley has a toolbox for all the tools he needs to help Little Woo repair his tree house. He uses the drill, the mallet, the saw, a hammer, a sander, a screwdriver and more. It's a busy Saturday, but there's time enough for Stanley to make a surprise for Little Woo.
I loved that Stanley found a use for all the tools! The child can see the tool in action and learn its name. I love the colorful illustrations - Stanley is so cute.
STANLEY'S TOOLBOX is a delightful board book that shows many tools in action as Stanley helps to repair Little Woo's tree house. Each page shows a different tool and how Stanley uses it to fix a different part of the tree house, such as nailing the shingles back on the roof with a hammer or smoothing the rough floor with a sander.
What I loved: This book is full of bright colors and cute animals, such as Stanley and Little Woo- but also Little Woo's teddy bear who is hiding on each spread. Whether for an older infant or toddler who already love tools or for someone new to tools, this book is a cute procedural that follows steps to fixing a tree house- all the way to building a fun swing. The text is easy to read, printed boldly, and the amount of text per page is perfect for young readers.
Final verdict: STANLEY'S TOOLBOX is a charming exploration of tools and construction that will appeal to infants and toddlers who love animals, bright colors, and easy-to-follow plots.

In Stanley’s Toolbox, Little Woo’s treehouse is in need of repair, and Stanley is here to help. Using various tools, Stanley helps Little Woo fix the ladder, roof, and floor of his treehouse and then helps Little Woo decorate it. As with previous Stanley titles, words for specific tools used by Stanley and Little Woo are highlighted to help young children learn terms associated with tools. In addition to teaching young children about building, Stanley's Toolbox helps young children learn kindness and how to lend a helping hand. This board book also includes bright, colorful illustrations with plenty of white space to focus young children on the connection between illustrations and words, while also learning about tools and being helpful.

Another board book about the hardworking hamster Stanley. This time Stanley is repairing Little Woo's tree house. The cozy narrative and the cheerful illustrations will make this a popular introduction to the tools most often used around the house. Pair this with The Toolbox by Anne & Harlow Rockwell.
It's another busy day for Stanley and this toolbox. Stanley uses his tools to repair Little Woo's treehouse. Stanley even has a surprise for Little Woo when all the major repair work is done.
Several re-read requests. My little enjoys seeing all of the tools and repeating their sounds. Her daddy does a lot of woodworking and I think she really enjoyed seeing the tools daddy uses in his workshop in her book. Another great Christmas/Birthday gift idea for littles.
very nice board book about doing different actions with different tools and 2 friends helping each other. Stanley and Little Woo are building a tree house. it's nice to see this subject matter because it's uncommon
One of the better Stanley books! It's much less visually cluttered than some of the others, and it has a great "first, next, then" structure with a book-rotating surprise at the end!
An unexpected joy! This was a library book so I often choose things for Bud that I might not automatically choose if we were buying.
This story of Stanley using his tools to help Little Woo fix his treehouse. The story is great on so many levels- it’s a sweet story of friendship and helping others, it uses technical language about the tools and their uses, and it demonstrates kindness and creativity.
Bud loved looking at all of the different tools- we did different sounds and actions for each tool which he loves and will often pick this book again and again to read through.
An added bonus similar to Usborne books is having a teddy to each page. A fab read at any pre school age level from read to me right through to early readers
13.3. Update… I don’t know how we will give this back. It is on constant request. My have to purchase!
This book and Stanley's Paintbox have just a bit more text and plot than Stanley's Colors, Stanley's Opposites, etc. , which makes them more interesting to the 2.5- to 3-year-old age range. This one introduces interesting vocabulary related to tools and building, and features my two-year-old's favorite character, Little Woo.
