PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS A LARGE(r) BOOK.

The Federal History Project (We Bring the Federation’s Past to the Present™ will release this as three mini-volumes sometime in the future (as we have the opportunity.)

There should be approximately 192,000 words in this Volume when it comes out. I'm somewhat guessing based on the size of the first two books at the moment (probably larger, I'd rather guess under.)

What's a Mary Sue?

Some of this was rather long winded but I really like Steph's character and the Morgana Team that backs her. I'm thinking calling someone a Mary Sue is not a compliment? I saw some reviews with low star ratings and the term Mary Sue, but I dunno... I like Stephanie. It would've been awesome if she was gay. Heheh.

3.5 Never Spoilers

There is lots of action in this book and it is enjoyable but with many of the Anderle et. al. books there are some issues.

First off edit, edit, edit. I know the team tries to pump many books out a month but please take the time to check grammar and sentence structure. Easy fixes.

Onto bigger issues.... we barely have scenes with two of the most interesting characters. Our witch is progressing ok in her character arc but some story lines are truncated, derailed or lost. I understand this will be a long Space Opera series but still tidy some stuff up. In the author notes Anderle even stated he realizes SO is not always a big seller, I get it. Look at Marco Kloos if you need a guide. He can keep you hanging for the next book and still keep plot lines in play.

Not giving up. Anderle et. al. always deliver action and eventually clear up most plot points. I had just hoped longer books would allow for tighter plot points. Maybe too many cooks in the writers kitchen or too many books being rushed to publish?

The Witch of the Federation is an action packed sci-fi novel with full of magic.

I really enjoyed the second installment of this series. I especially adored Burt!
I really enjoyed every little twist in the story, the cats, her team who became her family.
Stephanie is definitely getting stronger, her strength is truly admirable.

I just had some pacing issues with this novel, compared to the first book this was in places was dragging out a little. It didn’t deterred my enjoyment though.

Highly recommend this if you’re looking for a full of action sci-fi series!

I’m looking forward to continue with this series! I’m excited to see what’s the future holds for our federation witch!

Did not finish

It is rare that I don't finish a book however this one was soooo boring I only made it through the first 15%. I think Mr. anderle has lost a step. Sad, but it happens.

This one was a lot slower for me than the previous one. There were some dull moments but I did like how the story progressed. I am really excited for Book 3 and am a bit sad that the story will end soon...

Another Zinger

Anderle and Crew have stepped the quality of their writing, again. As I get closer and closer to the leading edge of the burgeoning empire, the happier I become.
In this issue, the Witch of the Federation graduates from being a citizen of and a resident of Earth to being a citizen of all three worlds and truly "Witch of the Federation," or should I say, "First Witch of the Federation," as Burt, Ms. E and our young hero work to identify other young talented to bring Earth, and the other two worlds, into the future where mistakes about climate, environment and social relations are corrected.

If you are an optimist, or at least a pragmatist with hope, you will enjoy this book filled with increasing bad-assery and Justice, with the merging of three cultures for the common good.

Well done Mr. Anderle ... and Crew ;-)

The series hasn’t gotten any better. Book 2 is longer, more meandering, and in more need of an editor. Protagonist’s power set has gotten even more ridiculous, she’s even more perfect.

I’ve read a lot of the super powered protagonists, those that can see the future, those that are the weird anomaly and thus can handle more power. There are ways of writing this well.

This? This is not it.

I’m out. It isn’t bad enough for a one star, but it isn’t getting any better.

Now a Mary Sue

In my review of the first book, I wrote that Stephanie is very close to a Mary Sue. The only thing keeping her from it is how endearing she is. She no longer has the protection given by her joy and wonder, and is officially a Mary Sue.

The plot is good, but this book is too long. It would be better than if the author broke it into two books so that it would flow better.

I may read book three as there are good things going on in the background.

Amazing story

I am having so much fun reading this series. They are so detailed and involved in their world building that I can picture it so clearly in my mind. Love the characters, Stephanie and her bodyguards, protectors, compadres... however you want to designate them, they are awesome.

I was happy that the characters went off world and explored something of the universe, and although there was quite a bit of action, it was a smidge of a letdown that we didn’t get to see a lot of Meligorn. Loved Bumblebee and Zeekat. Still think that the Navy is a duplicitous scheming machine that has nefarious reasons for wanting the Morgana on board. Wouldn’t trust those guys as far as I could toss them (and that’s not far at all!).

So, I loved the world, love the expansive storyline, and I adore the protagonist and her allies. Definitely going to pick up book 3 asap.

Another win!

Okay so, here goes: READ THIS BOOK!!!! I had never heard of Michael Anderle until I read the first one in this series. I am disgustingly picky with sci-fi because so much of it is dry as death or yet another Asimov or Duck wannabe. But DAYUM that can not be said about Anderle!

I saw there would be a wait for this one and decided to see what else he had to offer and fell in LOVE with Bethany Anne and the Birches in Kurthurian Gambit while I (not so patiently!) waited on this book to magically arrive thanks to pre-ordering.

I was NOT disappointed! I promise, you won't be either! Well paced with enjoyable, interesting and likable characters and fully realized world's and lots of explosive action! There is not one thing (other than a few typos and grammatical errors) that I would change in this story, and I am one picky reader!

Steph rocks

Another awesome book in this new series. Obviously similar to Beth Anne of another series but different enough to make it not seem like a clone. Hopefully no crazy confusing side stories to turn me away from the series. Keep it on track and finish what you start.
That said I love this book and series. Stephanie is an admirable heroine and of course OP. She is the hero that we all wish really existed (hence we all read about her). I like where the series seems to be going and can't wait for her to invent some stuff... Enchanting whoot. The new player in the space race should be fun and a challenge for her and her growing team. My only reservation is her love life. Her interaction with Todd seems a little awkward and forced used as a segue for naval interaction. However it's obviously a small part of the book. I can't wait for the next book in the series

The Morgana going on rampage after Todd is deployed and hurt

Yep this is a great second book where Stephanie learn how to harness her power while Burt and her security team try to protect her. She becomes a force to be recon with.
She still tilts a bit too often (Morgana become bat shit crazy) but as a teenager I would not expect her to be perfectly balanced yet even more with so much power at her fingertips. She still needs to grow up and come into her own.
At least she paves her own way and doesn’t follow blindly the recommendations/expectations/orders from her peers or from people in power or thinking they are in power. So kudos! Great story! Good pace in the story! Great depth in characters (main and supporting).

I did not think this was as good as the first book. There were typos, which were distracting, and it got to the point where I felt like I was listening to a kid tell a story with all the "and then... and thens..." Stephanie seems infallible and so the tension is less. That said, I really like the additions to the team. The intro to the main bad guy was not done well and he was WAY too easy to defeat for him to appear to be a major threat.
I find it a little hard to believe that the earlier Morgana had a difficult time defeating Hitler with the powers that Stephanie has... I liked the book, it was just a little disappointing.

Lots of action, more story please!

I love these characters. The overpowered heroine is at times a little silly given the early lesson that using magic to solve all problems is a problem in itself. The author does use more restraint than my imagination though. (Spoiler? I would have disciplined Frog by giving him two pound testicles, seeing him as a pregnant VIP, naked, a rodent of unusual size, etc. The author did none of those things.) Lots of fun, well worth reading and recommending to readers of middle school and above. Clean language, no sex, USA cultural references from 1980ish forward.

Stephanie begins to enter the grand stage of the universe

The focus was different for some of this book and I enjoyed the background history discussed as well the history they are making with every adventure! I love the cats as an addition, perfect for a witch. Also the continued suspense regarding Stephanie’s lack of romance is interesting but not a primary focus... yet.
I do find that the I find the navy folks to be a little over the top at times but then again, I was in the army! 😉 I think the jokes about marines and navy sounded like what I’d expect!
Overall I enjoyed this installment and am already ready to dive into the next book!!

I really enjoyed this book. Definitely had some reservations to begin with as it is 800 pages but I read the first a few days back (600 pages) and read through it pretty quickly. I am typically not a reader of the space opera and sci-fi genre but I have to say this series is really turning it around for me. I really enjoy all of the characters and the pacing in the story and plot. It keeps me engaged and wanting to know what is going to happen next. Anyways, I think it deserves a 5 star rating and I am literally going to be starting book 3 now. I would recommend this to other readers even if this is not your typical genre to read.

A great, epic, SciFi story. Stephanie Morgana and her team go about solving many of the pirate problems of the Federation. In the process, her team expands to include a pair of extraterrestrial cats, think alpha lionish, and a Dreth. She also takes on a somewhat split personality: Stephanie, the wonderfully enchanting, young woman, and Morgana, the terrifying, if you're not on her side, mage. Burt and Ms. E are present in a lot of the story as well. Really exciting to read.

Action-packed. Easy-to-read. Entertaining. Funny. Great world building. Inspirational. Page-turner. Scary. Tear-jerker. Tragic. Twisted. Unpredictable. Whimsical. Wonderful characters.

Explosive!!

Talk about all that and then some! The last book felt like it dragged and took a while to get into the action. In book 2 we hit the ground running and never stop! We explore the cosmos, stop assassins and in typical bad assery fashion blow things up! There’s even the formation of a volcano 🌋 We see our girl grow up a bit, BURT comes out to a special friend and we get a glimpse into whose really behind all the turmoil between the 3 alien species we’ve been introduced too. To say I can’t wait for book 3 would be an understatement of epic proportions

Beware The Morgana

This is a great read on all levels, the characters continue to develop, the story continues to develop, and the world continues to grow. Stephanie and the team, welcome three new members, manage to make themselves part of the Federation ( you just have to read it to understand), and learn to work with the Navy. They also meet the real nemesis they will be battling, for the first time.

Great read, cannot give this book enough praise. Impatiently waiting for Book 3 in September.

A fantastic book, a fantastic hero

What’s not to love in this book, a protagonist name Stephanie who gets stronger, great team around her including the addition of the cats and Vishlog. Miss E is great and needs more action sequences and other things to do. In my opinion she is right behind BethanyAnn as a favorite character. What’s not to like, guns, magic, and a unique character and an interesting plot line. Eagerly awaiting the next book. My suggestion if you have not started the series get book 01 and then read this one you will not be disappointed.

Ready for Book 3!

This series just keeps getting better and better! Book 2 was very much an adventure, from start to finish. We get to watch the team become a strong unit working together, and see some incredible magic from Stephanie. I highly recommend this series!

If you have not read book 1, it’s a great idea to go back and read it before this installment. It will give you much insight into Stephanie and her moral character, and also some really great adventures from her beginnings!

Every bit a good as the first book hinted it might be. Can't wait for more in this series. If you like mage stories, or if you like space stories, or if you really enjoy Glynn Stewart's mage king of mars series, then you'll love this series, go ahead and dive in, you'll be glad you did.
Also, this one has some bits of LitRPG thrown in as well. It can't qualify as LitRPG, but you might be able to stretch the definition to include it as gamelit, though it would definitely be a bit of a stretch. Regardless, it's a good read, and I highly recommend it.

I really liked the first book in this series and felt like it was well put together. I didn't finish this one however as it suffers similar issues to his Kutherian series. Started out well but devolved into a disjointed events strung together that I found discordant. Having said that I don't mean this to be a criticism of the author or his books, rather that the writing style does not suite me. I do like overpowered MC's and don't mind if they are female either. For many Mr. Anderle's writing style probably works well, so judge for yourself as this series is worth checking out.

She keeps on getting stronger!

Stephanie Morgana, the Earth Witch, finds herself learning more and more about magic, where it can be found and what she can do with it. Her team is with her all the way though and protect her with their lives.
Todd, her best friend since kindy, joins the Federation Navy and comes face to face with the reality of his new life.
A really good series that didn’t lose any pace in this the second book. A good read for sf fans of all ages. Of course, if you’re not into sf, don’t bother! That’s your loss. 😂😂

Her power is growing

Stephanie is not long out of school, however we see her power, skill, and intellect all grow as well. Mysteries are there, with little hints and hidden meanings as more is slowly revealed: now I have to wait for the next book to find out what is happening!

An excellent continuation of the witch’s story, and I’m excitedly waiting for book #3. (Michael: You will be hounded if you do not keep us updated on when to expect book #3!!!!)

Its Action all the way

Not since the days of BA has such a fine female character came to life from MA, and so to see it in a young girl whilst staying away from too typical for the YA crowd is good to read.
Donxt get me wrong some YA is quite good but i find this is one of those rare series where all ages are comfortable and the plot and characters roll along merrily with plenty of action and build up keeping me turning pages.

Truly enjoyable!

Michael has written another feel-good witch adventure! He even managed to add a few large cats to the team. My only complaint is his misuse of the term smirk. He uses it when the character is smiling fondly or in a friendly fashion. As a very minor author, I suggest a search and replace on both books so far.

None the less, I could not put the book down until I had finished it.

Definite drop from the first book.

The Marey Sue definitely in full effect.

Oh, a new challenge? Just more power and a new skill with no reasonable teaching or training to achieve it.

A new threat. Same. Any minor speed bump along the way? Same.

It was a def step back and the first book wasn't all that great. All the mains from the first book are back and there's a not of growth and what there is isn't really that gripping or realistic.

Book 3? Not sure I will.
