So the final part of the Lantern Square series sees Hannah still keeping a brave face even though things had been going awry around her. Her ex keeps wanting to meet up, her best friend may have ulterior motives and the Doctor seems to have more women going in and out of his house than you would believe.

The story gradually pulls together these threads and other bringing the story to a wonderful conclusion that has left me feeling very sad. I really like Hannah, Rhys, Joe, Mr G, Charles and so many of the other wonderful characters that I have met along the way. They cover such a diverse range and each has their own part to play in the story.

This has been a fabulous series to read and I have enjoyed each part of it. It has such a wonderful and welcoming style to it that envelops the reader in makes it ideal for snuggly under a blanket and escaping for an hour or so for each part.

The setting is sublime, a Cotswold village setting with a wonderful sense of community, of friendship and also support. The author really nails the sense of the spirit of the village in a wonderful way.

I am sad to see the end of this series, it is one that leaves you with a wonderful feeling of things being right with the world, a marvellous literary escape if you like. It is a book and a series I would definitely recommend.

What a perfect ending! I’ve loved every moment of this series – gloriously Christmassy, with a heroine I really took to my heart, a community wonderfully drawn, and a story (well, a few really!) running through its parts that kept me quite enthralled.

Things have started going a little awry with Hannah’s care package business, more than can just be put down to mistakes – and some of the consequences could have been rather serious (although one of the recipients really made me smile!). Someone seems to be trying to sabotage her success, and she really needs to find out who it is.

Meanwhile the doctor seems to have a revolving door to his house, with women passing in and out, and – although he often shows his softer and more caring side, as well as being rather hot – it rather looks like he’s not really the man for her. Her ex Luke is rather more in-her-face than she’d like him to be, and she has time to reflect on some of her regrets and lingering sadness. And then there’s Georgia, that friend from the past – what is she up to?

I just loved the visits to the old people’s home, where she’s now started a bookclub – and is working behind the scenes to bring happiness to a few of the residents, and to others who might be finding life a little lonely at Christmas. And I must say that this story might just have been one of the most Christmassy I’ve read – the square itself with its lights sparkling on the snow, the carol concert, the lovely lantern walk, the little acts of kindness, all thoroughly perfect. I particularly loved the illuminated animals – and yes, the churro stand makes another appearance, its deliciousness now with the aroma of Christmas spices.

The various mysteries work their way through – one particularly dramatically, and really well-handled. And then there’s that lovely touch of romance to make the season complete – the closing scenes, as Hannah closes the door on her past, were absolutely everything I wanted them to be, and left me both with a tear in my eye and a smile on my face. Heartwarming? Oh yes – just perfect. The ending I wanted? Most definitely!

I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Lantern Square – but if it’s too close to Christmas for you to catch up now, do put it on your list for when the complete story is published next August. I recommend it most highly.

This is such a perfect gift of a book!
I absolutely adored following Hannah with her new life away from London, embracing her gift giving business and making new friends along the way.
As always Helen creates the most amazing communities, and has you wishing to be part of them too!
I loved how she was committed to spending time with the older residents of the village, and becoming an important part of the community in the process.
After a tricky past it was uplifting to see her allow people into her life and to finally start living again.
Some clever twists kept me on my toes, and ensured the pages kept turning!
A fabulous book, in a gorgeous setting, I do hope we will return to Lantern Square again soon.

I did like Snowfall in Lantern Square a lot but not as much as the previous one - Christmas in Lantern Square for some reason. That said, the Lantern Square series is definitely worth reading.
