As I said on my review of the Grimoire Vol. 1 ::::: TAKE MY REVIEW WITH A GRAIN OF SALT. I'M A DESTINY ADDICTED.
Ahem. Destiny managed to get one of the best world buildings I've ever saw. They've got amazing stories, and there's always more to be explored. And this is just what this comic collection does. It expands upon the characters of the first 2 DLC's Osiris and Ana Bray in a FANTASTIC way. I like them a lot more after reading their stories and getting to know a little bit more about their lives and background. This collection also features a story about how Cayde got to lock up the Barons in the prison of elders. Have to admit that I've cried a little bit; Cayde, I miss you :(
Also, there's an exclusive short but sweet story about..... sweeper bot!!!!!! But I can't really talk about it without giving spoilers, I'll just tell you guys that it's cute!
So, to sum it up, the stories are amazing, and while you can read all of them online in Bungie's website, I'd recommend getting this physical edition if you can afford it. The materials are really awesome, the pages have that glossy nice look and it's a hardcover!!!!! Moreover, in the collection they managed to sneak up some lore tabs and extras, like short interviews from the artists. You can see that, just like everything Destiny related, there was a lot of hard work and love in the process of making it. And that's why we love it too.
OH I ALMOST FORGOT, this comic collection is the reason that I now know that Margaret Stohl IS DESTINY'S NARRATIVE DIRECTOR. I KNEW THERE WAS A REASON FOR ME TO LIKE THE LORE SO MUCH. (I miss Beautiful Creatures, gimme a break)
mr. pete bungie please release more d2 comics thank you.
loved reading this in the season of the seraph with all of the new context to these old gems - saint and osiris as long-time lovers, ana and rasputin's relationship and how ana is the reason he has such character and such a deeply rooted need to protect the humans in his care, knowing uldren's future post-forsaken. the universe in destiny is so rich and deep and full and i wish there were more Books i could read that weren't like, in-game lore books.
I play Destiny fairly regularly. For a video game it is very deep in lore and world building and has a very large cast of characters, each with their own particular story. This adds, through the comic medium, to the Destiny stories. I’m not sure how much someone who does not have some kind familiarity with Destiny and it’s stories would enjoy this. Otherwise it has nice art work and cool stories.
Good fun. Definitely one for Destiny fans. Love the pin up art and the bonus mini stories add to the lore. Nicely presented, soooo much better than a digital download 😜😜😜
Features stories about Osiris, Ana Bray and Cayde on the Baron hunt.
This comic book series was amazing from beginning to end. If you love the Destiny universe, then this is the comic book series for you. I cannot wait for volume 2. Hurry up, Bungie!
Good comic adaptation of the Destiny video game. There is the story of Osiris and his split with the Speaker and the Gaurdian Vanguard. Or, how IKora Ray became the Warlock Vanguard leader. Also the story of Cayde 6 as he capturedid the Fallen for the Prison of Elders. And a background story for Ana Bray. With a short pice about the Sweeper-bot during The Red War.
A very professional product with writing from the Bungie staff and art by former Marvel artist. It's not just for gamers, recommend it for Sci-fi and comic book fans.
