Baby For The Alien Invader

Rate this book

The alien invasion of Earth is over in only minutes!
Humanity is now enslaved and Isobel becomes the spoils of war!

Isobel...

Isobel's just a self-proclaimed geek. A computer nerd trying to get her dream job with the CIA when the alien invaders appear. It happens too fast. One moment she's taking a call and the next she's in a cell being ogled by a brutish green alien who's claiming her as his own!

Scared silly, but determined to fight, Isobel is thankfully rescued when an even bigger, more muscular alien male walks in. The green god is still covered in blood when he lays his claim on her. She was ready to struggle against the brute, but is unexpectedly drawn to this newcomer...

Reamous...

Reamous is a warrior, ruthlessly participating in the invasion of the stupid little planet Earth with the silly, weak aliens who call themselves humans. Against all odds, one of them manages to badly damage his leg and he's excused from service, forced to take work as a private contractor...

As a consolation prize he gets his pick of the captive females to take as his war bride. When he walks into the holding cells and finds Isobel, he knows she's the one!

She's supposed to be a mate, just breeding material, but Isobel is so much more. She has secrets, ones Reamous desperately wants to know. Along the way of discovering those secrets, he also discovers he'll do anything for his new human female. No matter the stakes he'll claim, protect and defend!

Totally bang-head-HERE 🔨 frustrating

Books like this one drive me nuts. Start with the el cheeso cover and misleading title. The sweet alien daddy is a mass murderer. So's his CIA-wannabe human war-bride. The only baby in the book is human, and she's not even their kid. (He finally shows up in the epilogue.) There's no romance - just a very dark and deadly version of Stockholm Syndrome with mandatory sex in the mix. There's rampant physical abuse, rape, and wholesale inhumanity (DUH! Aliens aren't human, but the humans aren't much better.) WORST OF ALL - This tale of alien invasion and human pushback is filled with tantalizing themes of epic moral conflict: Is invasion and conquest justifiable if the alternative is extinction? To what extent are victims of rape and abuse justified in retaliating? At what point is collateral damage no longer tolerable in guerrilla warfare? Is pacifism ever tantamount to genocide? Can you still be a good person when circumstances force you to act against your morals? And so on - point being, there is so much meat here left rotting on the bones of this badly executed book. It should have been the magnificent tale of sentient and inherently decent beings - alien and human - caught in a moral, political, and biological quagmire with no guilt-free way out. In the hands of a gifted storyteller, this would have been an epic. Juno Wells is not that storyteller. To add insult to injury, Ms Wells is not even a good writer; the book reads like a high-school writing class's group effort first draft. No editing, incompetent use of language, one-dimensional characterization, and on, and on... The author had a jewel of an idea, and rather than polish and set it, encased it in excrement. If you want to read this, be advised: there is literary gold in here, but digging through the crap to find it is worth neither your time nor your money.

I voluntarily offered to review this book with no obligations and my opinions are honest
It was a great book!
Isobel is having a bad day.
She was trying to get a job, and live her life.
Now she is a bride to an alien.
Once Reamous sees Isobel, he know she is his bride.
What does Isobel thinks of this arrangement ?
Read the book and find out! LOL
The characters + storytelling were very captivating
It has all the ingredients that you need for an awesome book!

I love Ms. Wells books, but this one is just not my cup of tea; for starters, the book feels heavy and dark, second, there's no baby on site until the epilogue (at least not their baby). Honestly, I had to stop a couple of times just because Isobel kept getting on my nerves with her s**t and being childish and immature for no reason, I can understand at the beginning, but I’m 70% into the book and her still acting stupid. As for Reamous, I would have loved for him to be more “Alien” and less of a douche, but that’s just me.

Isobel and Annie had applied for the Central Intelligence Agency internship. Now they both sat out on a bench with their phones tightly held, waiting to see if either would receive would be given the opportunity to shadow a high-level operative in the cyber terrorism unit. Isobel’s phone rang – this was it – she had indeed been awarded the internship! Her dreams were coming true! She called her parents to let them know, but a sudden crash had her turning around. Large green men were on the campus grounds; the sky was filled with spaceships and dark smoke drifted. Isobel and Annie were forced to get in a line of prisoners. They were marched down the street, dead bodies everywhere – all human. As the aliens shoved them into a cell at police headquarters, the cruel leader Caddir pulled her back and said he claimed her as his bride – and she would learn her place when he took her away! But another man teleported in and told Caddir to return her to the cell.

Reamous, a high-ranking warrior dedicated to service since childhood, woke up in unfamiliar surroundings, the painful injury in his mangled calf still not healed. Rakarians had rapid healing abilities, but disrupting the flow of life energy through their akhan lines, which looked like a white tattoo, prevented healing. His akhan lines had been damaged by bullets. The leg would never heal and his military career was over. The Emperor came to thank him personally for his service, but he was angry to be here and had disagreed with what they were doing here on Earth. Their own women had died from a super-bug. They had no way left to reproduce except by capturing human females or their race would not survive. But the Emperor, not knowing Reamous’ feelings about this, was here to honor him and give him first pick of the captive women. He picked Isobel, and Caddir tried to stop him but without success.

Assigned a house, Isobel could not believe this was happening. This house had belonged to a family, and they were gone now. Reamous answered her questions with a single word and she was horrified that he seemed cold and unfeeling about all the innocent people who were slaughtered. He answered simply that when someone you were close to died, seeing strangers you didn’t know die didn’t really matter. She didn’t want to be with him, so he offered to take her back to Caddir! Then he turned to her and apologized for taking out his anger on her. But neither of them had a choice. They had to do this or die. Reamous at least was decent to her, while many of the other aliens were cruel to their new brides.

This story was not meant to be a feel-good one, despite the cute cover on the book. It was a cold look at what could happen when your world is stripped away and all you care about disappears. There are some dark things the reader will learn. The characters will have difficult and painful decisions to make. How bad will it get? Is there anything good that comes of this nightmare? Is there any hope? Grab a copy and discover the author’s point in this stark and frightening look at a possible future – and look for the good to hang onto.

What an interesting story this was and yes there are some dark parts that might upset some but as a whole I enjoyed this book. The Rakarian race came and took over earth in one big massive wave and everyone was separated and all the young women where taken and being held until they where chosen by the men because there race was dying out and they needed women because a virus killed all there females. But not every male was happy at having to take a human and they treated them badly by forcing them to have sex and hoping the got pregnant because the Emperor want it but not all Rakarian men where evil and abusive. Reamous was a high ranking officer for the emperor but was injured in the invasion and the emperor gave him first pick of the women being held but he didn’t want anyone but he had know choice so he went to the cells and picked the only female not crying and look strong enough and that’s how Isobel meet Reamous they where given an apartment to live as a couple and would have to have sex every fortnight before they where tested and if she didn’t comply they had to have people watch them having sex so she had no choice for now but on the clinic visits she noticed that the other girls had bad bruises and black eyes and was very angry at how they where treated and happy at the same time because Reamous treated her very well and never hurt her at all. She meet her best friend at the clinic and she was hurt and scared of the man beside her but she couldn’t do anything to help for now but that all changes when she is contacted by the CIA. Can she save her friend and earth as well and what happens between her Reamous now that she is carrying his child. Read this book if you want to know more it’s a bit dark but I enjoyed it overall.

Delivers the entire adventure, emotional roller coaster and all

It feels like a lot of Kindle Unlimited books are actually stories divided up into bite sized portions, and in the box sets you get the complete adventure... in the case of Baby for the Alien Invader you get the complete adventure.

From the moment Aliens overwhelm Earth, and turn Isabel’s life upside down, in a brief battle that leaves Reamous with a career ending injury, through the emotional roller coaster both characters experience as they try to not only react to this new world order, and cope with life, but think things through.

I actually loved that college student grappling with everything that had ever meant anything becoming meaningless, and the General seeking purpose in life when declared no longer physically fit to serve. Two people who thought they understood their lives, and what mattered, suddenly had a lot of rethinking to do, and the ability to do it.

A lot of secondary characters were well used to show these characters strengths, and help develop them.

All in all this done in one Kindle Unlimited read was a delight. Longer than I anticipated when I first chose it, but well worth the time to develop the characters, and their internal struggles.

This was a hard read for me. I kept thinking how could she claim to love him and yet be okay with him carrying the cross of killing off his species. She seemed to so easily allow him to sign up for all that

Imagine this, the earth that was pillaged has its own abusers, rapists and murderers. Human beings even go ahead to abuse toddlers and animal (sexually too). And mind you, the population of those that do this is pretty high collectively. So imagine if one human decided to end the whole human race (as much of it as possible)?

Or think about Maria. Willing to kill a man that had been kind to her. How many Maria's might there have been? That didn't matter any though.

It should have been a certainty that the hero died. But the writer wanted a happy ending and she made it happen. But even worse, I keep thinking of the history that would one day be passed unto his children. Nothing is hidden under the sun, so one day they'll know that their father killed no off the race that they now love because he had judged and found many of them wanting.

I will say this though, the story line, though far-fetched, is definitely possible. It human behavior to err as such.

Little dark

Kindle unlimited purchase
By Juno Wells
Best friends Isobel and Annie have their whole lives to look forward to. But they NEVER thought this would happen.
Isobel gets the best out of this cluster ****. Aliens have taken over earth and taken All the women. Yes, you guessed it their women have died. So NOw the Emperor thought it was a great idea to come and conquer the Earth but what he doesn't know is that New York is a wrong place to put all your bets on.
I enjoyed this book. Even though it was a little dark. The book works towards a great ending. Wish some parts were explained more than just a fast paragraph.

A writer who knows how to soon a tale!

I highly enjoyed this story. It was intriguing and had a unique storyline. The humans were out maneuvered by a selfish race with a few unselfish who understood the mortifying evil they wrought on humanity. Unfortunately, the humans had lost so much and reading this, I couldn't wait for the tides to shift. The love story was easy to believe as was the rest of the tale and I liked that the main female character didn't abandon her face because she fell for the alien she'd been assigned to breed with. Read the book. It's a really good story.

I really enjoyed this book I know some will disagree. It was definitely not your typical PNR that's for sure, there are some dark parts that will upset some but I don't feel like that took anything away from the story. It has real storyline that doesn't give you the warm fuzzy your emotions are all over the places. It makes you stop and consider what would you do if you were in that situation. Overall a enjoyable and entertaining read. I voluntarily read and review this ARC no monetary compensation was received the opinions I have expressed are my own.

A well written Alien Invasion story that kept me turning pages, do not start at bedtime because if you like the story like I did you will not be able to put the book down. Isobel and the rest of Earths females are kidnapped and forced to mate with the Aliens. Reamous because he was injured is given first choice of the females and he chooses Isobel. These two will have so much to overcome, and Emperor who is not a nice man, there is suspense, drama, danger, poisonings, ill-treated Earth people, revenge, and romance. I enjoyed reading this story.

Good but long

This was a great book, but it is super long!!!! Earth is invaded for breeders basically. Isobel gets lucky, her alien is relatively nice, her bestie isn't as lucky. In fact, a lot of these aliens are evil. The book has like three different stories within one bigger story. There are some errors.

This author's books are so good. Here she is trying to get into her dream job one minute and the next alien's have taken over the world. And everything has changed. The one alien male thinks you need to be his and breed his kids. What a life to all of a sudden be thrust into. This is a standalone book. I received a review book and voluntarily review it.

Realistic portrayal

Most realistic and saddest portrayal of how aliens coming to Earth could go. While there is a love story I wouldn’t really call this a romance novel. There were too many times I thought I would cry. Good resolution, might not reread but happy I gave it a chance.

It's hard to review this one for me. It is a romance but also a strong SF themed book. It's so realistic as to what an alien invasion would be like for the humans.

I did like the Hero and heroine and liked how they slowly came together.

Disappointing

I really didn’t like this story or the female lead at all. Isobel is one of the least likable females I’ve encountered. In fact I didn’t like any of the female characters in the book. Reamous and Kjastic were the only like able characters.

I’m not sure what to think about this story.....it’s well written, no doubt about that, but the story......I guess the question for those who read it is ‘does the ends justify the means?’ Your answer to this question will determine whether you liked it or not.

Great story. I liked that the aliens were green. Very old but new at the same time. Remous treats humans better than the other's do.
