‘Best Man with benefits’ was simply, a read that I’d hoped would have turned out better.
This hopped between New Adult (veering sometimes into very hormonal teen territory) and suspense and many times it felt like the story couldn’t quite decide what it was supposed to be. As a result, this turned out to be a very odd combination that didn’t exactly work when all I could really make out of the characters were that they just didn't know what or whom the hell they wanted from the start.
Jacob and Chloe were essentially, a couple whom I couldn’t get a mental hold of at all with so many contradictory actions in their behaviour when it comes to each other—this is cocky and arrogant meeting cautious and jittery. Yet after not seeing each other for so long and then jumping into bed almost immediately based on that single experience so long ago didn’t create some kind of chemistry that I could feel; neither did the weird vibe surrounding Jacob (who just felt dodgy, flighty and unwilling to go all in) allay my own reservations about him.
The premise of holding a grudge towards a guy who’d taken your virginity 12 years ago and then fled seemed like a valid one. Her inability to get past the fact that he stayed up with other women but not her was something that got my sympathy. Really. More so since she’d simply gotten the excuse that he didn’t believe in the ‘love/relationship shit’ didn’t make him a shiny paragon of virtue that I could even like.
But Chloe’s readiness to do things with him, to lick up every crumb he threw out to her as well got me stumped and just made her an easy pushover: saying one thing, feeling something else and then doing just the opposite put her all over the place for me. Needless to say, her anger at Jacob’s lack of commitment stance yet her constant denial about not wanting him was a repetitive thing that also seemed to hold back the forward momentum of the plot.
Still, when the story took a but of a turn down the rabbit hole (throw in a rabid, foaming ex-girlfriend, a kidnapping, some TSTL moments), I couldn’t continue. Maybe there’ll be a day my curiosity would overcome that unsettled vibe that I’ve got about this story, but until then, chalk it up to ‘this is just me’, given the other outstanding reviews of the book.

More of the same
This is another of those stories where the successful, ADULT H, and the equally adult, if not as successful h, have a strong mutual attraction for each other. But he ‘made a promise to her brother (for some reason, it’s always her brother), never to get involved, apparently on any level, with his sister, the h’. And after 15+ years, these two are still on eggshells because of the promise made years ago. Ridiculous plot, ridiculous idea.
But this one takes it one step further. Now the FBI is involved. There are strangers lurking about, who have followed this wedding party across the ocean, to Paris. You know how it is, it happens to us all every now and then. But usually it’s in a Scooby Doo Mystery marathon. I will never understand these writers who think this is common fodder in anybody’s life. Ever. Or why they resort to the ‘I made your brother a promise’, or Scooby Doo in every other book. In this case, it’s both rolled in one. Not good.

Brothers best friend falls for sister!
Chloe is in Paris for her brother’s wedding. Jacob is her brother’s best friend. He’s also the guy who took her V-card and then left. That was 12 years ago and Chloe is still not quite over it no matter what she tells herself. A lot has changed in 12 years but Jacob and Chloe’s attraction to each other hasn’t. As much as they say they are going to avoid each other they can’t stay away. Craziness ensues while in France and when the group heads back to the US Jacob thinks he needs to just let Chloe go, but he left a piece of himself with Chloe. When everything comes to a head between Chloe and Jacob as well as Jacob and Charlie, can the two be together or are they destined to forever be apart?
While this was a good book, it was pretty much the same content as a few other books by Aubrey Wright. Don’t get me wrong I enjoy her books, and the way that she intertwines not only romance but suspense as well, and this book was not exception to that way of writing. I just feel as though the brothers best friend falls for the little sister then leaves then they meet up again years later and get back together is something that the author has done many times and I’m hoping for something more to spice it up. That is the only reason I am giving this 4 instead of 5 stars. Because even though it’s the same pattern as others, this book was still well written and I did enjoy the characters. And Aubrey is a fantastic author and this book is no exception to that.

i read this book as part of an arc program. This is the second chance romance between Jacob and Chloe. Chloe's brother Charlie is getting married to Addy and Chloe is the maid of honor. Jacob is Charlie's best friend and best man. Charlie had told Jacob to stay away from Chloe when they were all teenagers and Jacob promised he would, but he took Chloe's virginity before she left for college years prior, then disappeared from her life. Now, Jacob sees Chloe and he knows he wants her, but he also promised Charlie to stay away from her. Jacob is also feeling guilty for breaking the promise once already, but he is very attracted to Chloe. Chloe sees Jacob and thinks he is a jerk and arrogant, but she hates how attracted to him she is. While they are all in Paris for the wedding, Chloe knows she will be seeing Jacob at the events and she tries to stay away from him. Jacob and Chloe both promised Charlie they wouldn't fight during the wedding events, but they have a love/ hate relationship. There is also a strong attraction between them and whenever they are alone, they are drawn to each other. It seems they can't stay away from each other and when Jacob learns of a danger that has followed him to Paris, he wants to keep Chloe safe. I loved this story. I loved Jacob, i thought he was funny and loyal to Chloe. Jacob loved Chloe, but he wanted to keep his promise to Charlie. Chloe loved Jacob, but thought he would never settle down and love her. I loved them together and thought they had amazing chemistry. Another great one.

Ms. Aubrey Wright has won me over, yet again, with the creation of Chloe and Jacob in her latest publication, Best Man With Benefits. I've always known how much talent she has, however, with this release, there is even more to impress us (beyond the deliciousness). Intriguing and dramatic scenarios are implemented perfectly inside these well written pages. My goodness, yes! This release is a forbidden romance between Chloe and her Brothers best friend, Jacob. You can actually feel the tension between these two and pick up on Jacob being forbidden to Chloe because of his 'bad boy' ways, but the entire time I sat with my kindle, devouring this addictive read, you can't help but wonder if his reputation is partly made up because of his love for Chloe and with the amazingly designed storyline, you just wanted to savor everything about this book before it ended. There is danger that followed Jacob to France for his best friends wedding and trust that you'll be as enraptured as myself with this impressive release. The journey to their happily ever after is filled with so much emotional turmoil but beautiful at the end (& well worth your time).

Brothers Best Friend falling for his sister? I’m ALL IN!!
I love this trope so much!! Even though it is always putting someone in a sticky situation (lol) But you cant deny what is there between two people wether or not the sibling agrees. They have to let each person make their choices and find out where it leads. No one wants to regret missing out on the love of their life even if it doesn’t seem that way.
I really enjoyed Chloe and Jacobs storyline! Although I wish they would have explored what could have happened if they were together instead of just denying that it could happen. It’s inevitable to know everything but why not explore what’s there.
Obviously there was palpable feelings between them whether romantic or sexual chemistry that is off the charts. But why not explore what it could be without all of the reservations that there is? Especially when you aren’t even home. You’re on vacay might as well have fun until you don’t have to anymore!
Chloe and Jacob were such a great pairing of characters and I loved how well developed they were. I loved the relationships each character had tying back to the bride and groom.

Best Man With Benefits is a second chance romance and my second Aubrey Wright book. I loved it! She has delivered on two novels for me so far. She's quickly becoming a favorite author of mine.
I am going to keep this short and sweet just so no spoilers come out!
In the beginning we get to see Chloe, our heroine, at her brothers wedding in fair Paris. And the best man is her brothers best friend, Jacob. But he isn't just the best man, he's the guy who took her innocence and just up and disappeared twelve years ago. So much has changed during that time, but they both can't deny their attraction toward each other. It escalates when Jacob catches Chloe naked in the ladies changing room. Everything afterward is downward spiral. The past always has a way of catching up to you, no matter what you do in the present.
Can these two make amends and move forward from the past or will their mistakes keep them at a standstill?
I really enjoyed this book. It's been a while since I read a brothers best friend book that was this enthralling! I do recommend if you love second chance romance with a bad boy.

Now years later they are both party of her brother wedding and when he is bringing something to the bride he walks in on Chloe and she's naked. Sparks reignite between them and Chloe tries fighting what she feels for Jacob but before long his charm has her wanting him even more. Just when Jacob thinks things may be going well between him and Chloe his ex shows up and brings a bunch of chaos along with her. The secrets Jacob has been keeping come out as bullets start flying at the wedding. Will Chloe give him another chance? What will her brother do about him disrupting his wedding and being with his sister?
This is a great story that will have you on the edge of your seat from beginning to end. The chemistry between them is blazing hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

First let me say this that in the beginning you may think this is your typical best friend brother’s little sister romance book and you may want to put it down, well don’t. Just keep reading.
Chloe and Jacob have a history, he was her first love her first everything and he made promises and the next thing you know he’s gone. Well, to make things even more interesting Jacob is Chloe’s brother Charlie’s best friend.
10 years later they cross one another’s paths at Charlie’s wedding and both try to fight the feelings they had all those years ago, but old flames sometimes don’t burn out. Jacob and Chloe most definitely have chemistry and they also have this push and pull between them that keep them wanting each other that much more.
This storyline is better than what you think it is going to be, it has drama, suspense, mystery and unexpected surprises. I don’t think you will be disappointed with this book; Aubrey Wright is fast becoming one of my go to authors.

Wow what a read chole has always had a crush on her brother's bestfriend ,but never believed that he felt the same way only would unravel how much he felt for her . Jacob has one of those home lives that his parents could care less on what he does or where he is so he spends most of his time at his friends Charlie's house where he meets chole for the first time and he can't handle how he feels about her . Jacob has to remember the pact that he made with his friend not to go after chole ,but if he just watches out for her and secretly lust after that not the same right one would think ,but one night turns into something more. Chole and Jacob have a love hate relationship for a few years until a chance met up at Chloes brother wedding and it just gets more complicated for both of them to where they can't fight it anymore. I received this book as a arc for a honest review and boy this book will set you on fire from the first page and won't let you go until find out if these two can decied if being together is more worth it than being apart.

I voluntarily review a copy of "BEST MAN WITH BENEFITS" This was a very enjoyable, interesting, entertaining, suspense filled drama, with a little mystery, passion, angst, deceit, betrayal, secrets, lies with a few twists that keep you reading till the end.
Chloe and Jacob have an explosive forbidden relationship with scorching hot chemistry he's BF'S with her brother Charlie and he warned to keep his hands off his little sister.
Jacob and Chloe haven't seen each other for at least 12yrs since he took her virginity and then ran leaving Chloe with a broken heart it's her brother's wedding and they can't seem to keep their hands off of one another.
Jacob is involved with the FBI and his ex-girlfriend Carolina can't seem to get it through her head their finished and her father is a powerful man.
This was so well written by Aubrey Wright she has done a terrific job and her characters are very well developed I definitely recommend this so well worth the read.

This is another great book from the very talented Aubrey Wright She has the ability to draw you in with her characters but as a lightness in her writing that has you laughing and reacting You are totally drawn to her characters

I am a fan of Aubrey Wright and have seriously loved some of her previous books. I had a hard time connecting with Chloe and Jacob. I really wanted to like them both and their story but it just wasn’t working for me like Ms. Wright’s books had in the past. I got through about 50% of the book thinking, “okay.” And then at around 60%, I felt like their story finally started. From then on I was in, wanting more of their story, more of them! So I’m rating the first half of the book a 3 (okay/good) and the last half a 5 (excellent) making this a 4 star read for me. There was a deleted scene at the very end about what happened on prom night. I felt like if this had been included in the book, maybe as a flashback, I would have gotten into the story and characters a bit sooner. It was a fantastic scene that definitely piqued my interest and shed some light on Chloe and Jacob’s history.

Always meant to be together
This is my first by Author Aubrey Wright and I'm very much impressed by her work. Best man with benefits is a wonderful love story. Two people Jacob and Chole who has always wanted each other but moved away though they have come closer few times for one person who they both love most. Chloe's brother Charles, who love both Jacob and Chole but believes in bro code...don't go near my sister.
The couple had to cross many odd to get back together finally. The book is a complete package with hotness, love, romance and glass shattering action. Chole is a strong woman and ready to face anything and Jacob, he is lover boy but still respects relationships and value them.
The one thing I couldn't get in this book is that, according to second flashback, Jacob wanted Chole front their teenage, also he took her cheery away but he failed to recognise her when he met after years in the first flash back. Other than that I loved everything in this book.

This book was really great. I loved the twist of the mystery and drama that slowly eked into the wedding story. Caught me nicely by surprise and to me that is something that makes a book memorable to me. Jacob and Chloe had history, unrequited love on Chloe's part for Jacob, Her brother's best friend. It is Charlie's wedding week and things go from bad to worse, with the mystery coming out and drama ensues. The main characters, Jacob and Chloe certainly had the sparks, very much a love hate relationship from the start, but also a very off limits as well. Fighting their attraction was the hard part.
I thoroughly enjoyed this story, and finding Aubrey Wright's still as a writer so entertaining. Truly a exceptional story.

I truly enjoyed reading this off limits book!! This author has done it again!!!👏🏾 Great storyline with crazy action and unforgettable drama, and suspense!!😳 This book has taken the top spot in my must haves and reads for this year!!! ☺️Gosh!!🙃 I can’t stop going on about his book!!😄 Once you start reading about Jacob and Chloe forbidden love, you won’t be able to put the book down!!!😜 I kid you not!!!☝🏾So addictive with so much action it will leave you hooked and wanting more!!!🔥🔥 And don’t get me started with the steamy scenes...🔥🔥🔥🔥😊 The chemistry those two had was off the charts!!!🔥🔥🔥🔥 This story was written so well and you won’t be disappointed!!!!😊 I know I wasn’t!!!😜 Great book!! The whole "oh I'm above money" ... bitch please. (It helps when you have a[n apparently self-made] billionare brother who you know is your safety net. Who also flies you out to Paris on an all expenses paid week - granted for his wedding, but still.)

I do love the best friend's brother premise.
And I liked how they have history (oops " " he took her virginity. ... I think? a decade ago? Can't remember if that was this book or not ...) Anyway - and the naked dressing room incident - life is weird.
But then the arrogance, the squawking, the smug/smarmy in the elevator ...
Just... no. Not for me, not right now.
Maybe if it's rec'd by a trusted source in the future, but for now chalking this one as a pass and a disappointment.
The whole "oh I'm above money" ... bitch please. (It helps when you have a[n apparently self-made] billionare brother who you know is your safety net. Who also flies you out to Paris on an all expenses paid week - granted for his wedding, but still.)

Excellent with great twists brother's best friend story
Arrogant, full of himself hero? Or is he really? Is there more behind Jacob's exterior?
Is Chloe so convinced that she can resist him because what she feels for him is anger, disgust and she hates him dearly?
I loved every single moment from this book. Author brought a lot of fresh air to this trope and it really made this book special amongst others. Mysteries, unsaid truths, deeply hidden feelings that wouldn't stay buried deep inside for long. The insane push and pull between main characters and the chemistry they couldn't hide. Sparks where flying and tension was almost palpable. Some really hot and steamy scenes and the dose of drama and bit of angst. Oh! Let's not forget about meddling older brother and very determined ex girlfriend. Fantastic read!

Unexpected...
I've never read this author before and I wasnt sure of the direction early on in the book. It offered a little more action that a normal best friend/lil sister romance. The fact that Charlie knew they had something the first time they met was pretty amazing. The chemistry was explosive and the sex scenes were hot. I thought the "drama" with the FBI and mob was a little out of place but it gave an element I want expecting. The dynamic between Chloe and Charlie was interesting because they always leaned on each other, but they were entering a new phase in life and he didn't know how to let go. And that concept held almost completely until the last chapter. Great HEA !

Twelve years later the attraction was still there and again it became too hard to resist. Back home in the US Chloe finds herself pregnant and her brother still wants to keep them apart. I loved this story, when two people want to be together it is not up to interfering family to make the decisions for them. A promise made a teenagers should never be held against a man in love.

Started Slow but then Redemption!
What an interesting storyline. I say that because for the first 25% of the book I didn’t care for either of the main characters, Chloe and Jacob. But then as the story took on more action and characters I liked everything.
There are very hot scenes within the storyline and the author has included deleted erotic scenes. So if this is not your thing then you may want to skip this book. But for me I’m definitely recommending this book for your reading enjoyment and pleasure.

A great story! Jacob is a playboy that can not commit. He’s also Charlie's best friend. Who is Chloe’s brother which by bro code makes her off limits. Chloe had a serious crush on Jacob, for years and they had a one night stand. Secrets and life happened. Fate intervenes and they reunite for Charlie’s wedding. Will they have a second chance at Love? Will it cause problems with Charlie? Can they have a HEA? Check this out and see what hapoened. Great characters and storyline that keeps you glued to your kindle. Highly recommend this book! I am voluntarily leaving my review after reading an advance copy of the book from Bad Boy Update.

I have to first say the beginning of this book I almost gave up because I thought it was going to be the same story as the others. You sleep with your brothers best friend at his wedding, blah blah blah. Well I can tell you that this story is so not like that. I am so happy that I continued on with the story because you not only have a love story to read but it’s filled with drama, action and so much more. Would you put your friendship on the line to be with the person who makes you whole? Can someone forgive you for taking so long to realize what you almost lost?? The characters within this book were written well as was the story. Enjoy.

Absolutely loved this lots of will or won't they, Jacob and Chloe trying to stay away from each other due to Charlie being Jacob's best friend & Chloe's brother. After losing her virginity to Jacob when she was 18 & then he left her she hated him & refused to let herself get hurt again until they had to be friends for the sake of Charlie's wedding but they couldn't stay away even though they kept telling themselves that sex was not going happen but they were just too hot for each other. Jacob had a secret though was to ruin things between them & the wedding. This was full of hot sex, secret love, Mafia & a baby. Loved this book.

Chloe's brother, Charlie, is getting married in Paris, the city of love. Jacob, the bestman, hasn't seen Chloe for over ten years when there was a hook up between the two. Jacob left abruptly without an explanation to Chloe because he went against bro code to not touch Charlie's sister. When he sees Chloe again, Jacob has a hard time resisting her. He tries to figure out his feelings toward Chloe and what they mean. This story also has suspense of people who have followed Jacob to Paris to cause problems and possibly harm. Well done Aubrey Wright!

Love this second chance romance, with a suspense twist that amps up the drama and heat! Chloe has always crushed on Jacob, her brother's best friend. He was her first everything, then left without a goodbye. Years later she finds herself in close quarters with him at her brothers wedding. The chemistry is still there, and try as she may she can't resist him. Their secret romance is great, until the danger from Jacob's life comes to the wedding. Tons of drama, suspense, lust, passion and love make this such a fabulous story!!
