Ok, wow, this one really got down and dirty! The story is taking on such body now!

So many twists and turns for Mina and crew. Phillip, of course, is being a jerk. But, is he really a jerk? Is there more to him than that? Have we misunderstood him all along? Uh uh, you have to find out for yourself!

And poor Mina, the ringer she's put through isn't just squishing her flat, it's poking holes all over her too! She's so mixed up at this point. So unsure where she should go or what she should do to keep things together. It's possible she may lose someone really close to her, she's got a good friend standing trial, trial by Phillip of all people, for murder, and as if all this isn't enough, somehow she's whisked off to who knows where with take a guess who for heaven only knows what reason! It's amazing she's still sane!

There's so much more going on in book 2. Catherine really took the world she built and the characters she created and fleshed it all out into an amazing part 2. There are so many different ways all that is in the blurb could go, and I have no intention of telling you any of them lest you figure out the right one! But, take it from me, this series is getting good! I mean, GOOD!

So Very Well Done, CC! You keep going, girl! This was such fun to read, so mind numbing! And such amazing work for a second book from a (basically) new author. Very Very Well Done, Indeed!

I received this book as a ARC for which I thank the author very much. This review, however, is in my own words and of my own volition, never doubt!

I received an ARC at no cost from the author. On this second installment of the Paranormal World series, we catch up with Amina and the gang pretty much from where we left off on the last book. I don’t want to give away any spoilers but suffice it to say, some of their problems are resolved and at the same time they become aware of new ones. I felt this was very much an Amina-Philip book. Amina is forced to work really hard on strengthening her powers, while Philip has to face his own demons. They also need to work together, as soul mates, which poses its own set of challenges. I felt that all the other characters were there to support them, since we didn’t really get to focus on them.
The bond of The Six also gets an upgrade: they discover new ways to work together and learn a little bit more about their purpose and their powers. At times, their relationship reminded me of Sense8. It’s very interesting how their abilities are unfolding and I’m intrigued to see where their relationship and their powers are going. Amina, at times, is still too nice for her own good but it seems that she’s finally becoming more street savvy. All in all, a great book that leaves you wanting more.

This is book 2 of this series- Amina has chosen Erik, but during a competition with her soulmate Philip, she and Philip are whisked away to another land with no way to contact the 6. There they grow closer and find out more about their magic. The storyline is good, but I find the characters are very 2D. It’s written from the view of Amina, who is very factual and levelheaded, but doesn’t lend to much character development or backstory. Nevertheless, the book ends on a cliffhanger, and I need to find out what happens in book 3. I received a free copy in exchange for an honest review.

Amina Langston, life mage extraordinaire, is on the verge of a break down. Bent on seeking revenge for the death of someone close to her, handling her relationship with her estranged, werejackal boyfriend, and defending a friend arrested for murder; she's at her end. To add to her troubles, she's forced to compete in the ultimate magic competition against her new enemy, Phillip Leal. The loser will have to give up his or her freedom to the winner and being that Phillip is a cruel and ruthless egomaniac, Amina can’t afford to lose.
However, Amina and Phillip are magically banished from home with no ability to get back. Forced to team up to survive, the reluctant duo must fight off ghosts, dark fairies and other paranormal beings who were all sent to kill them. Can Amina and Phillip put aside their differences, solve the mystery behind their attackers and get home before they get themselves killed?

Wow! This one picks up where the first one ended.
The world building is expanded and gives you so much more.
Action, suspennse and twists keeping you gripped til the end.
The characters are growing so much.
I can't wait for the next instalment!!

This was an interesting read. I have to admit that I didn't realize it was the second book in the series when I got it for review. My book budget was spent so I plunged in and hoped I wouldn't be too lost. The author is great with the exposition work and caught me up to speed really quickly.

I really enjoyed the intricacies of all the relationships going on. I liked that the resolution of conflict was not absolute and still hasn't been fully realized by the end of the book. It would have been really easy to just say "we bonded and everything is all good now!" Nope. They're going to have to work for their bit of peace.

There was a mildly explicit sex scene and some fairly graphic violence but overall I really enjoyed this book.

I didn't get to read book 1 so I'm a little unclear on things. This was given to me as a review copy. I can honestly say that the characters seem to have a mind of their own and take up their own personalities. I like the freeness of the characters. It flows smoothly. The world building is awesome, the character details are great, the action and adventure is in a whole new factor of its own, it is fast paced, suspenseful, and ok my favorite. I haven't ever read anything by this author before and since it was recommended to me, I like the way everything just flows with this book. I will be picking up book one and book 3 next so I can get a better handle on where it all started from. The editor did a really good job on this book and I didn't see any noticable errors. This is now a new favorite author of mine. I will be checking out more books soon enough. Happy reading and Enjoy!

The 2nd book in the paranormal world series.

In this one we get see the main characters power grow, quite a bit. Unfortunately it's too much, too fast. Which is a problem throughout the whole book. Everything happens too damned fast, without enough detail to the surrounding world & the characters. Power levels, relationships, it all happens to fast.

I love the story the author is telling, and the exciting twists to things she has brought to her world. But the story suffers from lack of world building, and trying to speed things along to fit everything in.

This book should have really been two; telling of the events that lead up to Ireland, and then everything that happens there.

Ah well; still a good read. I did enjoy the battles that took place, and the things that occurred in Ireland. I hope book 3 improves in the flaws in 1 & 2.

I read the first book earlier this year and then read other books in between. I was surprised that after reading a few pages it was as if I just finished the first book. I think that says a lot about the author and her talent. I love the diversity of her characters. Great details of the characters, their personalities and powers are shared throughout the book. Amina, the main character is strong, smart and sensitive. It is so easy to route for her. While trying to save the world, she either befriends or battles every mystic being I’ve ever read about as a kid. She even has time for a little romance. Without spoiling anything, I’m Team Erik. I hate cliffhangers, or I would’ve given this book 5 stars.

I wanted to see Amina grow and lose some of her naivety that she had in. book one. Instead I was frustrated with her 6 chapters in and she is still dealing with people from Silver Springs. Why is she continuing to trust them? She healed then enemy and I am ok with that, I don't like how she expected everyone to welcome and accept him despite all the atrocities he committed. I really did not like the weird love triangle where she is mated to a were but soulmates to her former enemy. Sadly I really struggled with this book.

A fast-paced and absolutely amazing story!

I stayed up all night to finish this book. It has so much going on that you don't want to put it down.
Mystery - who is trying to stop the soulmates Amina and Phillip.
Danger – Ghosts, dark fairies, other paranormals
Romance – Amina has to decide between Phillip and Erik

And then there was a cliffhanger…. I can’t wait for the next book in this series!

She is on the verge of a breakdown as she has so much on her plate at the moment. How she is about to have more dumped on her. She has to enter a contest with her worst enemy, the loser ends up serving the other. They end up in a different place where they will have to rely on each other to survive. Can they do it? Can they get home? See how they get on

Book 2

Book 2 continues the saga on a strong note. There were a few moments where the FL became a little irritating, but not enough to tempt me to stop. There are quite a few minor characters, so keeping up with who is who and who is what is key.
The ending of book 2 is not quite a cliffhanger but it makes it clear that the story is not over. There are still plenty of unanswered questions / unresolved plot points to lure readers into book 3 and finishing the series.

Magic, Supernaturals, and the Apocalypse. Oh, my!

Relationships are always difficult, more so when you're trying to save the world.

An unlikely alliance is formed under the worse circumstances, but hope is a powerful force.

Fast-paced and full of twists. This is an amazing story, the second in the series. Un-put-downable.

Really good

Read it, an interesting premise and engaging characters. Sometimes I do lose track of who is who. I miss printed books that would have a character list in them. As the books progress I'm sure I'm going to want one.

Phenomenal

I can’t express how much I’m enjoyed this book. First off, You give us readers much detail. I sure hope this becomes a tv series, a movie wouldn’t do this justice. I’m jumping straight into book 3.

Good plot

Feels a little like the stand but not as scary. There's magic that came with the apocalypse. It turned a portion of society into magical beings. Most of the rest died. I will definitely be completing this series.

Solomon delivered again! This installment has so many twists and turns! We get more of the delicious Erik and dive even deeper into Phillip! Mina is still such a relatable character, I love following her and watching her grow into her role in this exciting/scary new world!

Getting Better

Things are getting better with this series. The first book had me slightly skeptical but this book shows character development and questions are answered but more questions arise. Definitely a good read.
